By default, the alarm receiver is configured to disallow insecure connections. To allow connections to insecure devices (no SSL, invalid cert, etc.), change the RequireCertificate config key in appsettings.json to false.

Alarms Not Decoding

By default the alarm JSON messages are saved in the file store in the same folder as any alarm footage. To diagnose decoding issues, confirm that this message is what is expected. A typical alarm message looks like the following snippet. Alarm messages always have the broadcastAction alarm.

After Adding to exacqVision

exacqVision defaults to using the Hanwha default H.264 stream (profile 2) but can be changed to H.265. This changes exacqVision to utilize the default H.265 stream on the camera (profile3).

NOTE: It is not possible to set h.265 via exacqVision on a fisheye camera.
You need to log in to the camera interface and manually change the FISHEYE
profile to H.265.

To change the default stream to H.265:

1.Navigate to the exacqVision Camera Settings page and click the Recording tab.
In the Rate Control field, the default is Constant Quality which equates to Variable Bit Rate in Hanwha cameras.

The Quality slider default of 2 sets a low cap.
1 = minimum VBR cap for that stream
10 = maximum VBR cap for that stream
For 4MP+ resolution cameras it is beneficial to increase the quality to 3 or 4; otherwise, the video may be compressed too much thus decreasing quality.

2.If needed, select a stream to add from the Multistreaming dropdown menu and click Add Stream.

NOTE: With high-resolution cameras, it is best practice to create lower
resolution live viewing streams to save on decoding and bandwidth. These
streams can be added in exacqVision on the Camera Settings page.

3.Click the Motion tab to edit motion on the camera (although exacqVision does not have all the options available that are in the Hanwha cameras).

NOTE: It is possible to add motion, including windows, without adding\
multiple points to create unique shapes.

4.Click the Analytics tab to see several options for displaying and recording data.

5.If the camera is a fisheye, click the Digital PTZ/Fisheye tab to configure the proper dewarp code.
a. Select Immervision from the first dropdown menu.

b. Select the proper code from the second dropdown menu.

c. Select how the camera is mounted for proper dewarping from the third dropdown menu.

NOTE: Many of Hanwha’s fisheye cameras can use additional camera side dewarp
channels. These should be created first before the camera is added to
exacqVision, so they are identified and configurable inside of exacqVision.
These channels have no motion detection so they either need to record 24/7
or be used for live video only.

NOTE: The Video tab does not exactly match what is in the camera.

Contrast = Contrast
Saturation = Color Level in the camera
Wide Dynamic Range = controls SSDR in the camera
Video Mask = controls the camera’s Privacy Areas

Searching AI Metadata

To search AI metadata:

1.From the exacqVision home page, click the Search () icon in the top left corner of the screen.

2.Expand the camera tree then select the camera and the analytic metadata associated with it.

3.Select the Search Range to search for then click Search.

4.Click the Paper () icon to view the raw metadata.

A pane to the right of the video will appear with the raw data of that time.

5.Check the Show Filters checkbox to filter data.

6.In the pane to the left of the video, check the checkboxes to filter.

7. Click Save then click the Search button again.

NOTE: Save filters can be selected from the dropdown menu at the top.

8.If certain overlays for the metadata need to be hidden, click the Green () icon and select which overlays should be hidden.

Creating Events Based on Analytics

NOTE: The analytics must be configured in the camera first. Once done and the
camera is added to exacqVision, disable and re-enable the camera.

• Firmware can be easily updated via the NVRs web interface, the NVRs monitor/mouse interface, Wisenet Device Manager, or Wisenet Viewer. The process takes approximately 5 minutes.

• The way Verint operates is that the recorder will dictate the camera’s FPS, and changing the video profile on the camera, by default, momentarily drops and reestablishs the connections.

How to add a Wisenet camera to Genetec Security Center 5.9

Step By Step Guide:

To add a Wisenet camera to Genetec Security Center 5.9:

1.Open Wisenet Device Manager.

2.Double-click your camera to load the camera’s webpage.

3.Enter and confirm your new password, then click Apply.

NOTE: If a password has already been configured and you need to default
the camera, press and hold the Reset button for 5-10 seconds.

4.From the Genetec Config Tool application, click the Video icon.

5.Right-click Archiver and select Unit enrolment.

6.Click Manual add then select Hanwha Techwin from the Manufacturer dropdown menu, select Wisenet from the Product type dropdown menu, and enter the IP address of the camera.

NOTE: You can find the IP address of the camera in the Wisenet Device
Manager results screen. Click Add and close to enroll the camera.

TIP: If you see a Bad logon error, move your mouse over the text and an Add button will appear.

Enter the username and password of the camera then click the Add button.

After a few moments the status should change to Added.

NOTE: Sometimes the status in Genetec sticks on Bad logon. To resolve this
issue, click Clear All at the bottom of Unit enrollment and add the camera
again. The camera has now been added to Genetec Security Center 5.9.

Configuring a Fisheye Camera

The following additional steps are required if the camera has a fisheye lens:

1.From the Video tab, select the newly added camera under Archiver then click Hardware and edit the Lens type.

2.Select your Camera position from the dropdown menu.

NOTE: Genetec may not automatically pick the correct lens type and
could fail to calibrate.

3.Select the correct Lens Type from the dropdown menu.

4.Click Ok and Apply at the bottom of the page to save changes.
The fisheye camera settings are now complete.

Viewing the Newly Added Camera

To view the newly added camera:

1.Open the Security Desk application from the Windows Start menu.

2.Log in and and select Monitoring.

3.Double-click the newly added camera to see live video.

4.Use the scroll wheel on the mouse or click the Viewing Mode icon to manipulate the image.

Genetec – Adding a Hanwha Camera to Genetec 5.7 or later

11.For Arlo Essential wire-free cameras:
Press and hold the Sync button on the bottom of the camera for two seconds.

12.For Arlo Pro 4 and Arlo Pro 5S:
Insert the battery into the camera and tap Continue.
When the LED on the front of the camera is blinking blue, tap Continue.
If the LED is not blinking blue, tap LED is not blinking blue.
Press and hold the Sync button on the inside of the camera and tap Continue.
When the LED begins blinking blue, tap Continue.

13.Hold the QR code about four to six inches in front of your Arlo camera.

14.When you hear a chime, tap Continue.

15.Arlo will begin looking for your camera.

Arlo Go 2 gives you the flexibility of using 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or LTE for connectivity. You can also use LTE as a backup in case your Wi-Fi internet connection is interrupted.

Note: When using both 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and LTE mode, Wi-Fi will always be the primary mode of connection.

Arlo Go 2 works with the same Arlo Secure App as all other Arlo cameras and devices. However, to connect your Go 2 camera to the mobile network, an activated SIM card with a mobile data plan must be inserted into the camera.

Note: We recommend that you charge the battery before mounting your camera. Your camera LED indicator light will blink amber if your battery needs charging. The indoor charging cable that came with your camera works with most power adapters.

I see an error and was unable to name my camera. Do I need to start over?

Before starting over, check the LED status on the Camera. If solid green, force close the myQ app and relaunch to confirm if the device is showing. You can update the name by tapping the gear icon in the video window.

How can I adjust the camera position?

Smart Indoor Camera – Adjust camera head swivel.

Smart Garage Camera – Adjust camera head swivel. Older SGC1 models will also have a swivel camera arm.

My Outdoor Camera is not recognizing movement. How can I fix that?

Ensure the camera is mounted at the appropriate height of 7’-10’. Installation higher than the recommended height may not allow for proper movement and person detection. Adjust the angle of your camera so the lens is not receiving direct sunlight or other light sources.

When setting up a LiftMaster camera, there may be a few Wi-Fi settings that need to be changed in order to successfully connect the device. Unable to Connect the myQ Smart Garage Camera to Wi-Fi Overview

myQ Smart Garage Cameras require a Wi-fi internet connection to access the myQ server. If the myQ Smart Garage Camera is not connecting to the server, the issue could be due to the router, mobile device connection, or Internet connection.

When attempting to connect, the camera’s LED indicator lights will go through a sequence of flashes before finally turning solid green to confirm the connection. Each step of the sequence indicates what the camera is attempting to do and how you approach troubleshooting depends on the LED light’s behavior and color.

Make sure to check the status of the LED on the myQ Smart Garage Camera and use the list below to determine a resolution.

iCam365 camera Complete Guide

Connect iCam365 camera

Download iCam365 app

Use the “Scan” function on the mobile phone to scan the QR code to download and install the iCam365 APP.

Login iCam365 app

You need to register iCam365 account and login to use iCam365 camera.

Connect power supply

Connect the device to the power supply.
Keep it connected for about 1 minute until hearing a prompt sound.

Add iCam365 camera

There are 3 ways to connect iCam365 camera, we recommend to use ‘Scan code to add a device’ to connect camera.

Click the + icon, then scan the QR code on the iCam365 camera, the QR code is usually on the bottom or back of the camera. iCam365 APP will show the recommended way to add.

Please let the camera close to the router, and then connect the camera.

Select Connection Mode

If the QR code on the iCam365 camera is missing or not recognized, you can manually select the add method to connect the camera.

1. Click Add by type in the top right corner, select Surveillance camera, select WiFi camera.

2. Then you can choose Quickly add, Scan code to add a device and Add a device by wired network.

Quickly add – Android

Add a camera via the AP hotspot connected to the iCam365 camera.

When the ‘Camera startup is complete, waiting for network to be added‘ voice, you can start to connect iCam365 camera, if there is no voice, please reset iCam365 camera.

1. Select Quickly add, click Next > I know

2. Click CHOOSE, click the icon to select your wifi and enter your wifi password, then click NEXT.

Can’t search iCam365 camera?

Please connect iCam365 hotspot wifi manually, wifi name: AICAM_xxxxxxxxxxx.

Can’t find iCam365 hotspot wifi?
Please reset iCam365 camera.

3. After you click JOIN, your phone will automatically connect to iCam365 camera’s hotspot wifi, then wait for iCam365 camera to connect to your wifi.

After successful connection, set the camera name and you can start using iCam365 camera.

Scan code to add

Scan QR code on your mobile phone to add a iCam365 camera to pair WiFi.

When the ‘Camera startup is complete, waiting for network to be added‘ voice, you can start to connect iCam365 camera, if there is no voice, please reset iCam365 camera.

1. Select Scan code to add a device, click Next, select your wifi and enter your wifi password and click Next.

2. Let iCam365 camera scan the QR code displayed by APP, Distance 10-30 cm (3 – 11in).

3. When the iCam365 camera emits the ‘Scan QR code successfully‘ voice, click NEXT and wait for the camera to connect to wifi.

After successful connection, set the camera name and you can start using iCam365 camera.

Share Camera

You can share iCam365 camera to your family or friends.

Share the account to enjoy the permission to watch the live broadcast, intercom permission, control the rotation of the PTZ. and view video replay privileges

1.Click Share > Add new sharing, then enter your family or friend’s email or cell phone number.

2.After sharing, a sharing message will be sent to the email or number you entered, register and login to iCam365 APP and you can start using the camera.

In the sharing screen, you can click the icon on the right to delete the shared users.

Setup Recording

Before setting up the recording, you need to insert the memory card to make the recording function available.

1. Insert the memory card into the iCam365 camera, then enter the Memory card interface to see if the camera reads the memory card.

Note: When replacing or removing the card, please cut off the power first to avoid card damage and data loss.

2. Click Video recording settinas, you can set the recording mode and definition here.

· All-day video recording : Uninterrupted continuous video recording

· Event video recording : Record a video when an event is detected

· Turn off : The device will stop recording a video after turn-off

Video Definition: The higher the storage resolution, the clearer the recorded video will be, while the more storage capacity taken up and the less the total recording time. Please choose the storage resolution according to your own situation.

View Video

Click the video icon to view the video, the time with color means there is recording at the current time.

Setup Detection

1. Click Detection settings and select the detection sensitivity. You can also set the Detection area.

Detection area: Increase or decrease the area by clicking on the screen,The red area is the monitoring alarm area, and the full screen will be detected after reset:

2. Click Notification settings, open Turn on notification and Motion detected to detect and receive alarm notifications.

In order to receive the alarm notification in time, it is recommended to set the Notification interval to 1 minute.

Warning voice

Turn on the Warning voice message, when the iCam365 camera detects an intruder, the camera will send a warning voice to scare off the intruder.

Setup Intelligent tracking

Turn on Intelligent tracking, when iCam365 camera detects human or pet movement, the camera will track the movement of the object.

Alarm message

By clicking on the icon, you can view the Alarm message, and by clicking on the message, you can view the details.

Lighting and night vision

In the Lighting and night vision screen, you can set the light lamp and Night vision mode.

White light lamp

· Automatic: The white light lamp is turned on when an event is found at night, and automatically turns off after the event is over.

Night vision mode

· Automatic ：When the light is poor, the infrared night vision mode is automatically turned on.

· Always in the night vision mode ： Suitable for a dim-lighted environment

· Turn off the night vision mode ：Suitable for an environment where the light is always bright

Reset iCam365 camera

1.Turn on the power and wait for the camera to start

2.Press and hold the reset button (about 5 seconds) until the camera sounds a voice prompt

Alarm	Ilt gives the voice and light alarm when detecting a movement event or a manlike shape event (purchase separately). You can also customize the voice
Setting management	Click‘’on the home page or click “” on the real-time page to enter the setting management. On the setting page, you can modify device names, purchase services, share devices, access Store Settings, Screen Settings and other Settings.
Binocular camera	If you are purchasing a binocular camera, the following function are currently supported: 1. supports the Picture-in-Picture display. You can click Picture-in-Picture to enable or disable the function. 2. supports the switch between the small picture and the big picture. Click the long shot or close shot or small picture to switch. 3. its Playback function also supports the switch between the small picture and big picture and enabling/disabling of the small picture window.

How to fix not connecting to iCam365 camera?

Fix can’t connect to wifi

iCam365 camera can not connect to wifi usually caused by the following problems, you can follow the guide below to fix the problem of not connecting to wifi.

1. Make sure the iCam365 camera is currently in waiting connection mode.

· After the camera is powered on, wait for the camera to start up (about 30 seconds), the camera will send out a voice prompt ‘Camera start up is complete, waiting for the network to be added’.

· No voice prompt, please reset the iCam365 camera

2. Make sure iCam365 camera supports your wifi.

iCam365 camera only supports 2.4Ghz wifi, wifi name and password support English, alphabet and numbers.

3. Please put the camera next to the router, and then connect the camera

4. Make sure your wifi password is correct

5. Change the mode to connect to iCam365 camera

iCam365 supports two modes of camera connection.

· The camera can not scan the QR code, please try to use Quickly add.

· If you can’t connect to AP hotspot, please try Scan code to add.

6. Reboot the router, sometimes the router fails to connect to the new device.

Voice Troubleshooting

If the above problem can not fix the wifi connection problem, please follow the iCam365 camera’s voice prompts to fix the problem.

Voice: Router connection failed, please reconfigure the network

It means iCam365 camera can’t connect to wifi, please check your wifi information and reset the camera to reconnect.

Voice: Receiving wifi information, connecting to server

It means iCam365 camera can’t connect to the internet, maybe the camera is too far away from the router, please get closer to the router.

Voice: Please program the ID number.

This may be a Chinese voice, iCam365 camera does not program ID, can not use.
We suggest you to return the camera directly, or contact your seller for support, you need a computer to fix this prob.

After iCam365 camera start, there is no ‘camera start up is complete, waiting for the network to add’ voice, after resetting the camera, there is no voice either.

iCam365 camera hardware failure, please return the camera.

How to fix iCam365 camera offline?

Follow these steps to fix iCam365 camera offline problem.

1.Restart the iCam365 camera

2.Reboot the router

3.Reset the iCam365 camera to reconnect.

If the above steps can fix the camera but it is often offline, then the camera may be too far away from the router, we recommend to move closer to the router.
Or please check the following issues in order:

1.Make sure the iCam365 camera has power

2.Make sure the iCam365 camera is connected to the router is normal

3.If you have changed the Wi-Fi or password, please reset the camera to reconnect

4.iCam365 camera is not too far away from the router, separated by walls or other obstructions

5.Take out the memory card, then restart the iCam365 camera, if the camera works normally, then it is the problem of memory card, please replace the memory card or format the memory card

What WiFi does the iCam365 camera support?

1. The camera does not support 5G frequency WiFi, if it is connected, please switch to 2.4G frequency WiFi
2. wifi name and password are recommended to use English, English symbols and numbers, can not contain Chinese and special characters.
3. the router can not open such as AP isolation, anti-scratch, black/white list and other options to restrict WiFi access
4. The camera does not support WPA/WPA2 enterprise WiFi for the time being

Why can’t I connect iCam365 camera.

Check if the WiFi password is correct, and if the network is connected correctly, reset the camera.Add the device again when the above operation is done.

What memory cards does iCam365 camera support?

iCam365 camera supports minimum class10,4-128G memory card.
It is recommended to choose Samsung or Sandisk memory card, poor memory card will cause recording problems or cause the camera not work properly.

The video cannot be playback?

The recording is divided into event recording and round-the-clock recording. Event recording:
The camera records the triggering event until its end. It keeps recording if the event keeps triggering it.

Round-the-clock recording: The camera records round the clock.
The round-the-clock recording will occupy a huge space of the memory card. Please select the recording mode as required.The path setting of the recording mode: Setting-> Memory card -> Recordina mode

How should I download the video to my mobile phone?

1. Click the Recording button “ ” while viewing the playback video.
2. Click the Stop button” ” when the playback is finished, and the video will automatically be saved to the album.

Why iCam365 camera is offline?

First, check if the power supply and the network are normal. If they are normal, power off the camera and restart it. If the device is still offline after restarted, eliminate the camera in the APP and add it again.

Why does the iCam365 camera show no memory card?

1. The camera does not support hot-plugging. You need to power off the camera to insert the memory card. Please restart the camera.
2. If the memory card still cannot be identified after the camera is restarted, please replace it with a new card and try again.
3. If the new card still cannot be identified, the card slot may be damaged, or there is a failure in the FFC. Contact the supplier to replace the device.

What shall I do if the memory card is full?

No need to handle it manually. The camera automatically overwrites the earliest video documents when the spare space of its memory card is 500M or less.

iCam365 For PC

iCam365 For PC only has simple functions, watch live video, view footage, control rotation, voice intercom. Only in the iCam365 app can you set up the camera.

You need to add a camera in the iCam365 app and then log in to iCam365 For PC, you will be able to see the camera.

1. Turn on the Bird Lover Bird Feeder camera power and you will see the indicator light flashing quickly and hear a sound.

2. Open the Bird Lover App, click +, select your Bird Feeder Camera (you can choose one at random, the connection is the same), and then follow the instructions of the App.

3. Bird Lover Bird Feeder Camera only supports 2.4G wifi, please make sure your current wifi is 2.4G.
Enter your wifi password, make sure the wifi password and wifi are correct and click Next.

4. Scan the QR code with the Bird Feeder camera. You will hear a prompt sound after a successful scanning.

5. Wait for Bird Lover Bird Feeder Camera to connect to your wifi, about 60-120 seconds.

1. Turning on or off the “Motion Detection” at the Features interface.

The accuracy of the results depends on the angle and clarity of the bird images.

To ensure a correct result, please ensure that the image is clear enough. The identifying features (bird’s head, tail, wings or pattern on feathers) should not be obscured by obstructions.

The bird should be in the main position in the picture; try to capture the best moment to recognise the bird if the previous recognition accuracy rate is too low; if there are two or more bird species in a picture, the identified result will be the one in the main position.

Step 1: Login to your Synology NAS via a browser​

Step 12: Click the Test Connection button and if the test is successful you’ll get a green tick and a live shot from the camera, you can then click Finish and the camera will be added to your Synology NAS​

If the test is not successful you will have to go back and check the camera’s settings are correct, the most common problem is that the camera has an IP address that is not on your network, after you have followed our instructions from a previous video on how to change the IP address you should get a successful connection and be able to add the camera.

1.Phone connect to the wifi network.

When there is no network in the installation environment, please select the following pairing method;

 1. Long press the camera Reset button for 10 seconds to restore the device to factory settings .

3. Open the mobile phone desktop-settings-wireless network, search for the device wireless hotspot name, Enter the wireless password:1234567890, connect to the wireless hotspot of the device;

Tips:

AP hotspot mode is only used for installation when there is no network in the environment, and cannot be remotely monitored,can only be accessed within 10 meters of the establishment of the hotspot!

4. Open the ‘iCSee’ APP, and directly add the device in the local direct connection mode.

5. The device is displayed on the device list interface, which means that the device is successfully connected.

6. Click the ‘Play’ button to enter the monitoring screen and perform related operations and settings.

7. If you have already registered an account to log in, please click the “+” sign at the top right, and click the “AP direct connection” mode to add.

How to set up mobile tracking？

Note: Mobile tracking and smart humanoid alert can’t be used at the same time;

●Click the “Mobile Tracking” switch buttonin the preview interface to turn on the corresponding function;

●Motion tracking: when it’s on, as long as an object enters the camera’s illumination range, camera will track the moving trajectory;

●Watch Point: set a fixed position, when the camera is operating or tracking, it will automatically return to the set position after staying for a period of time;

●Infrared night vision： When the light is insufficient, the infrared light is activated and the image becomes black and white;

●Double light alert：When the light is insufficient, the infrared light will be activated. When someone enters the monitoring screen, the white light will be triggered and the image will be colorful.
After a few seconds when the person walks away, the infrared mode will be switched on and the image will become black and white;

How to Restore factory settings/AP hotspot switching？

1. Long press the camera ‘Reset ‘ button for 10 seconds, and you can let go when you hear ‘ Restore factory setting,please wait’.

2. Short press the camera Reset button 2-5 to enter the direct connection mode (most devices will voice prompt “enter direct connection mode”).

How to query device serial number and info?

1. Open the ‘iCSee’, enter the real-time playback of the device, click on the upper right setting to enter the setting center-about the device , the QR code can be directly scanned and shared with other family members to watch (the QR code valid time is 30 Minutes); if exceeded, it will automatically expire;

2. If you find that the device time is not synchronized, please click the device time to synchronize it;

HOW TO USE THE CAMERA?

1.Please open the software to register one and log in to your account if you do not have an account.

2.Click “+” > Set up “MY DEVICE” to WiFi

How To Enable IP Camera Offline, Analog Camera Disconnection Notification Alerts

One of the most important features of any security system is its ability to alert you when something goes wrong. Whether it’s an IP camera offline or an analog camera that stopped working, a storage failure, or any other exception, you want to know about it as soon as possible. That’s why Camius DVR and NVR camera systems offer various options for setting up alerts or notifications for different events. While cheap IP and analog CCTV camera systems often lack this feature, Camius provides this advanced functionality, setting it apart from other systems.

How to Setup DDNS on Camius DVR and NVR Surveillance Recorder?

To setup DDNS for Camius security cameras, you’ll first need to register for a DDNS service, obtain a domain name, activate DDNS in your camera’s network settings, and then input your DDNS account’s hostname, username, and password.

If you want to access your Camius DVR or NVR recorder remotely from your PC, you might encounter some difficulties with dynamic IP addresses. What is DDNS?

Dynamic DNS, or DDNS, stands for Dynamic Domain Name System, and it allows you to assign a static domain name to your recorder, regardless of its IP address. This way, you can always connect to your recorder using the same URL without worrying about IP changes.

Dynamic DNS lets you access your Camius security camera device on the internet with an easy-to-remember web address like “camiusnvr.dyndns.com” instead of a hard-to-remember IP address like 216.144.47.245. This is useful when you want to connect to your security camera, DVR, NVR from anywhere in the world.

Setting up DDNS

In this guide, we will take you through the steps of setting up DDNS on your Camius DVR or NVR recorder. You will need to have an account with a DDNS service provider, such as DDNS_3322, DYNDNS, NO_IP, CHANGEIP, or DNSEXIT.

Step 1:

Create an account on your preferred DDNS service provider website and a domain name (which is a hostname for your Camius DVR/NVR or an IP camera). Each of these providers offers free and paid accounts, which you need to select based on your requirements.

You will need to provide your email address and create a password. After verifying your email, you will be able to log in to your dashboard. The process of creating an account with DDNS service providers is similar.

Why can’t the battery be used for a long time?

The operating temperature of the camera is -10°~45 °C. Please do not place the camera in an extremely cold environment.

4. Night Sight will consume more battery power
When you enable Night Sight, the camera will enter night mode when the light is darker than the threshold (sensitivity level). Camera performance is improved when it is dark.
Therefore, for sharp nighttime images, we don’t recommend disabling it, although it may drain more battery power. But if you still want to disable it, you can tap the camera “Settings” icon > tap “Lighting Settings” > close “Night Sight”.

How can I extend the battery life?

🟠 The battery life is largely determined by the number of recordings and the number and duration of live. Here are the suggestions to extend the battery life:

(1) To reduce false triggers. Change the location or angle of the camera. Please allow us to explain how motion detection works: when the PIR sensor perceives a change in the environment, motion detection will be triggered. The change in the environment can be a moving object, light change, the alternation of hot and cold air, etc. Particularly common false triggers include trees shaking after being blown by the wind, the cold air of the air conditioning, etc.

(2) Set motion detection sensitivity to Low or Medium. After doing that, the distance the PIR sensor can detect will become shorter so that false triggers may be reduced.

(3) Shorten the recording duration of the camera. Currently, the camera-supported recording durations are 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 20 seconds, and automatic (up to 3 minutes). For your reference:

(4) Set Sleep mode. This feature allows you to schedule the working hours for the camera. Whether the camera enters sleep mode on schedule, or you enable Sleep, the camera will be deactivated. Under this condition, the live feed will not be accessed, motion detection (including push notifications, recordings, and camera alarm) will stop working. This can reduce power consumption to save battery life.

(5) If possible, you can try to watch live feeds or adjust camera settings on your mobile phones less frequently.

(6) To avoid or reduce the battery consumption caused by poor network connection. You can place the camera as close to the router as possible, and try to avoid thick walls, bricks, ceramics, electromagnetic wave equipment, a large amount of liquid, and large metal objects.

(7) We suggest that the camera be installed in a suitable temperature environment (14°F~113°F).

(8) It is generally not recommended that you turn off night vision, but if you do not need to monitor at night (watch live and video), you can turn off night vision.

Will Wi-Fi environment affect the camera battery?

🟠 Yes, an unstable or poor network environment will cause the camera to transmit data multiple times, the camera keeps actively searching for the network, or even reconnect to Wi-Fi continuously, which will result in faster battery consumption. How to add users or share your camera with another person?

Once you add a camera to the app, you become the admin of the camera. If you want to add an additional user to watch the camera on multiple devices, let’s say, you want to make another person (your family member or your friend) be able to access the camera on his or her phone, you can share your camera with that person.

The shared user needs to download the app and register a new account first and the shared user will need to select the same country as you when registering.

Please check if shared user is in the same country/region as you. Click your/shared user avatar to go to “Personal information” >> check “Country” to see if you are in the same country.

If not, maybe you/shared user need to delete the account and re-register by selecting the same country/region to make sure you are in the same country. Click “Account security” >> select “Delete”, then you/shared user can re-register.

Overview

The IMOU Ranger 2C IP camera does not support HomeKit but it DOES support ONVIF and RTSP, which is excellent. When using the IMOU app, the camera supports some basic motion detection and pan/tilt, but none of that functionality seem to be supported via ONVIF, which is strange because the IMOU LOOC cameras at least extend their motion detection abilities to ONVIF. I wonder why they dropped that with the Ranger?

Unboxing

The camera is accompanied by a USB power cable, wall adapter and some strange plastic part with two holes in it. I have no idea what it is for.

Setup

If you haven’t already done so, you need to install the IMOU Life app.

Annoyingly, you’ll have to create an account before you can set up your camera. Everyone expects that these days, but it’s a dumb requirement and something that Streamie absolutely avoids.

After you’re signed in, choose the option to scan a QR code.

On the bottom of the camera, if you have 20-20 vision, you’ll see the QR code and the recovery code which is the default password for the device. Point your phone at the QR code to continue.

And don’t forget to actually plug in your new camera.

While I always rag on cameras that require switching wifi networks to perform the initial setup, the IMOU setup process at least does all of the work for you.

Next up, give the app your wifi network name and password.

And then wait patiently. If you happen to block internet access for untrusted devices, you’ll have to disable that firewall rule now, while the camera “phones home” for what I’m certain are entirely legitimate and necessary reasons….

Next up, choose your region and a date format. I’d imagine the app could figure this out automatically, but whatever.

And you can tap on it to stream it. Yay.

In the next section we’ll get this IMOU Ranger 2C camera set up in Streamie and to do that we need the password, which you can find in the app. Tap on the button to configure the newly added camera and then tap on this thing at the top.

Then tap on “Device Label”.

On this screen you can see your recovery code which is also the default device password that we’ll need to give to Streamie.

Also, if you go to Device Firmware Version screen, there’s probably a firmware update waiting for you, which can’t hurt to apply now, since you’ll probably never think to do it later.

RTSP and ONVIF functionality is enabled by default so we don’t need to do anything but have that recovery password handy.

1.How to select memory card capacity?

(1). For FHD/1080p/2MP resolution cameras:

a 32GB memory card can be used for 3 days;

a 64GB memory card can be used for 6 days;

a 128GB memory card can be used for 12 days;

a 256GB memory card can be used for 24 days;

(2). For QHD/2.5K/4MP resolution cameras:

a 32GB memory card can be used for 1.5 days;

a 64GB memory card can be used for 3 days;

a 128GB memory card can be used for 6 days;

a 256GB memory card can be used for 12 days;

(3). When the storage is full, historical video records will be replaced by new videos in chronological order automatically.

2.How to set up your camera?

If you want to set up your camera, please follow the steps as below.
Please note: ensure the distance between the camera, mobile phone and the router is within 30cm during the configuration procedure.
1. Tap “+” to scan the QR code of the label and tap “Next”.
2. Connect the phone to the camera’s hotspot signal named that begins with “DAP”.
3. Tap the WiFi that you want to connect to.
4. Enter WiFi password and tap Next.
5. Wait for the connection.
6. Added successfully.

3.How to share your cameras with others？

1. Reach to Share Device on the home page.
2. Tap ‘+’ and input the email address you want to share the device with. Or you can share by QR code.
3. Special permissions for the shared user.

4.How to view history record?

If you want to view history records from Imou APP, please follow the steps below.
In the preview interface.
1. Play the live video and tap the “Event History Timeline”.
2. Select cloud storage or SD card storage to view the recording
3. Tap to view all recordings
In the home interface.
1. Tap “··” on the device menu.
2. Tap “All videos” to view all recordings.

5.How can I stream Imou camera through Amazon Echo Show / Google Nest Hub?

You can follow the configuration wizard of Google Home to configure imou account on Google Home, and the demo will be shown on our official YouTube channel.

6.Where can videos be stored?

Way 1. Use local storage(memory card) as the default mode.
Way 2. If the cloud storage service is enabled, enable the cloud storage and local storage.
Way 3. Use manual recording mode and the recording will be stored in the local storage on the phone or PC.

7.What to do if there is a false alarm from outside the motion detection zone (general activity zone)?

Turn the Human Detection off.

8.Can I set human detection area?

Sorry, you can only set the detection area for motion detection instead of human detection.

9.What to do if there is no alarm after enabling motion detection?

Please try the followings:
1. Turn on the motion detection in the app.
2. Increase the sensitivity in the app.
3. Adjust the dynamic inspection area.
4. Adjust the validity period.
5. Change the memory card property to “read/write”.

10.How do I fix the device IP?

1. Set static IP with SmartPSS and other tools.
2. Bind IP and MAC in router interface.
3. Set the router’s address lease option to “never expire”.

11.What to do if the device initialization (password setting) failed?

1. Keep the device and the phone on the same network.
2. Keep your router online.
