FLEX AI Setup and Use Guide, FLEX AI enables you to enhance camera capabilities, enabling them to detect and track previously unidentifiable objects. While many cameras can detect and track people and specific vehicle types, it is a different matter identifying shopping carts, forklift trucks, hovercrafts, or items on a conveyor belt.

FLEX AI: Get started

While many cameras can detect and track people and specific vehicle types, it is a different matter identifying shopping carts, forklift trucks, hovercrafts, or items on a conveyor belt.

With FLEX AI you can create custom object detection models for solid objects that can then be deployed to cameras, enabling you to detect objects that standard analytics does not already detect.

It is a cloud-based application, and its results are compatible with deployment to P-series AI cameras.

How it Works:

FLEX AI operates on a subscription-based model, granting users comprehensive access to train, process, and download custom detection models for end customers. However, the allocation of licenses requires a careful consideration of each end customer, with a separate FLEX AI license needed for each one. This process is typically managed by a STEP Partner, who oversees the distribution of licenses to ensure effective deployment.

For actual deployment onto cameras, FLEX AI uses a perpetual licensing system, distinct from its subscription model. Each camera necessitates its own perpetual license to run FLEX AI models effectively. This approach ensures that users can deploy and utilize the models on their cameras without the constraints of a subscription-based licensing system.

In terms of training models, FLEX AI currently supports the MP4 format or tagged WAVE Sync videos for training.

NOTE: Each project can only train one model.

Note: Each camera can only run one FLEX AI model, although it may run in parallel with WiseAI.

The FLEX AI Flow:

The general process is as follow:

1.Ensure you have a license to develop new models.

2.Sign in to Cloud Portal and select FLEX AI.

3.Create a new project.

4.Import training clips.

5.Annotate the clips.

6.Send the model for training.

7.Evaluate the model, and improve if necessary.

8.Download the model to your computer.

9.Upload the model to a compatible camera.

FLEX AI: What do I need to train a model with FLEX AI?

Summary:

This article covers what you need to build effective models with FLEX AI.

Training Requirements and Recommendations:

• A minimum of 20 annotated objects or training images for an efficient detection model (at least 30 are recommended)

• About 100 annotated objects or training images are recommended for a more robust model

• Draw the bounding box around the object as close as possible (try to not leave any margin)

• All target objects or training images must be labeled (i.e. frames chosen without annotation cannot be used in a data set)

• Ensure you are marking all things considered the same object to yours within a frame (the algorithm may not preform well if all similar objects within a frame are not properly included for training custom object detection of your desired object).

• Use video clips that contain several different angles, perspectives, and lighting of the object of Interest (OOI) (preferably from the same camera for which the training is being done)

• Use clips where the annotated object is not partially hidden so that the AI can learn what it really looks like (i.e. if you were teaching it what a person looks like, then annotating just an arm sticking out from behind a tree is not helpful)

NOTE: After you click Train, the data you have created is sent to the cloud and
the algorithm is trained to detect your object. This process can take anywhere
from 30min to 1 hr and depends on the number of training images you included.

Performance Issues:

The following may cause object detection to have performance issues:

• Challenging background conditions due to low light or changing weather (ex: rain, snow, sunshine)

• Object size differs within the field of view of the camera which is different from the size used while training

• Parts of the object are covered or obstructed

• Objects are in high density crowds or occluded

• Stacking (ex: a model trained on single shopping carts will have issues detecting carts stacked in a corral)

• Object is moving too fast

Camera Recommendations

• Use footage from the camera covering a fixed that the model will be deployed and used.

• The Field of View (FoV) should show your object with a minimum size of 20px x 20px.

• Installed cameras should be at normal video surveillance View (

• (CCTV view of 45 degrees or larger)

Limitations:

FLEX AI has the following limitations:

• Cannot detect non-solid objects such as gas/vapor, liquid, smoke, etc.

• Cannot deploy more than one custom model to a camera at a time. Detecting multiple objects currently requires multiple cameras.

• Cannot support a single model that includes multiple objects (ex: hardhat + goggles + vest) and identify a missing item.

• Cannot be used for identification or recognition of an object (ex: specific people, faces, animals, etc.)

• Cannot be used for detecting the orientation of objects (ex: a cart that is facing left or right).

• Cannot distinguish colors. FLEX AI does not take color into account.

• Cannot be used for detecting the fine-grain objects (ex: golden retriever vs dog, tesla model Y vs vehicle)

Processing Times

• FLEX AI is a cloud based application and requires internet access and processing time.

• The algorithm takes the images you’ve make, trains our object detection model to detect your desired object, processes the model to show you simulated performance on videos you’ve provided, and then packages the model to work on the camera.

• Each step can take multiple minutes, the initial Training can take about an hour (dependent on the number of marked images you’ve provided)

• When the training is completed, we then process the model to detect the object with the videos you’ve provided in the video library of the project. When the videos become available, their buttons become active with the “Ready to View” status.

• We also package the model for the camera and the download button becomes active when the file is ready.

FLEX AI: How do I create and manage FLEX AI projects?

Step By Step Guide:

Creating New Projects

To create a new FLEX AI project:

1. On the Project screen, click the plus (+) button to create a new project.

2. Name your project after the detection type.

NOTE:
Project names must be unique.
Each project can only consist of one object detection type.

Managing Projects

Here is an example of multiple projects being worked on in parallel.

To search for a FLEX AI project:

1.Use the Search box to filter the displayed projects.

2.Apply sorting, as needed.

3.Click on a project to open it.

Existing projects will indicate their current status:

• Untrained – model is yet to be trained for the first time

• With annotations – model has been trained, reannotated, and is awaiting retraining

• Training in Progress – model is in the process of being trained

• Trained – model has been trained

FLEX AI: How do I add a video clip for FLEX AI usage?

Step By Step Guide:

Uploading a video

1.Log in to your account.

2.Select the project.

3.Drag your MP4 video file to the Video Library field or click Hard Drive and select an MP4 file.

NOTE: The Video Library drawer can be expanded and collapsed by clicking the arrow.

Pulling bookmarked videos directly from WAVE Sync

NOTE: First tag WAVE Sync bookmarks with “flex_ai” to make them to appear in FLEX AI.

Tagging WAVE Sync videos

1. Sign in to your WAVE account.

2. Add a bookmark.

3. Tag your bookmark with “flex_ai”.

Importing WAVE Sync clips

1. Click WAVE Sync and enter your user ID and password.

2. Select your system from the dropdown menu.

3. Select the checkbox for each WAVE Sync Bookmark you would like to import.

Recommendations

• Use videos that are less than 10 minutes long.

• Multiple videos can be uploaded at once with a maximum file limit of 500 MB each.

• Use the Video Library to rename your video, see its status, or delete it.

• More angles and perspectives of your object will increase the accuracy of the AI model.

FLEX AI: How do I annotate objects?

Summary:

This article describes how to move through a training video and mark objects. The goal is to take a video clip and pause at several points in the video and annotate objects (draw boxes around) you are teaching FLEX AI to detect.

Step By Step Guide:

Annotating objects

1. Pause the video on any frame that contains the object of interest.

2. Draw a detection box around every instance of the object. There can be multiple instances of an object and each instance should have its own detection box.

3. Click the Tighten button (or the keyboard shortcut T) to resize the detection boxes.
This means you can save time by roughly drawing the boxes and then tightening.

There will be times that FLEX AI does not properly capture the true edges of the object, that’s why the application allows you to readjust the edges of the box.

Step 3: Drag the edges/corners of a detection box to finely edit.

4. To remove a detection box, select the appropriate box and click the Delete key on your keyboard.

5. Click Save (or the keyboard shortcut S) to save the marked detection boxes.

6. Once you have drawn the necessary detection boxes, click the Train button. Your project will be unavailable during the training period which typically takes 15 to 30 minutes depending on the number of annotations.

NOTE: Since training is done in the cloud, you can work on any number of other projects
while a project is training.

NOTE: The blue detection boxes also appear in the This Frame’s Detections area after you
save. It is recommended that a minimum of 50 detection boxes be defined before your
initial object training is complete. An AI model can include detection boxes from
multiple video clips.

You can save time and effort when navigating video, marking, tightening and saving annotations, by using the keyboard shortcuts below.

FLEX AI: How do I improve my object detection model?

Summary:

This article covers improving the AI Object Detection model of your uploaded videos. This process will result in more accurate detections, fewer false positives, and fewer false negatives.

Step By Step Guide:

To improve the AI Object Detection model:

1.Click the Improve button (towards the top right of the video player) after you have reviewed the latest model.

2.Select a video to start.
FLEX AI will suggest the top 10 frames crucial for highlighting your object(s) to enhance your object detection model. Markers represent each frame the application is asking you to revisit.

3.Draw a detection box around every instance of the object.
Remember to save your detection boxes.

4.Click the Object Not Present button (towards the bottom right of the video player) if the object of interest is not in the frame.

5.Use the arrows or the orange dots to advance to different/suggested frames.

6.Complete all 10 suggested frames and repeat for all videos to be included in the next training.

7.Click the Add More button to manually look through the video and add detection boxes, if the suggested frames are not enough (ex: different angles and perspectives are needed in the training set).

8.Click Train when you are ready.
The current limit for a (1) year license is to have a maximum of (100) total trainings or improvements.

NOTE: All 10 suggested frames must be completed per video for them to be included
in the training. Detection boxes on any video where all 10 frames are not marked
will be discarded and not included.

FLEX AI: How do I review and download my FLEX AI model?

Summary:

This article covers reviewing the AI Object Detection model of your uploaded videos.

Step By Step Guide:

To review your uploaded videos:

1.Click the Ready to View button to select your trained AI model results video.

2.Adjust the confidence level slider (towards the top right of the video player) to view the identified objects that meet your specified minimum confidence level.

The following model has been trained only once, so there is no option to compare.

3.After training the AI model more than once, click the Single/Compare Player toggle to change your view from side-by-side video player to single video player.

The following model has been improved, so both the previous (left) and current (right) can be compared. We can already notice the newer model is performing better.

4.Click the Download button (towards the top right of the video player) when you feel the model has been trained to your preferences. The model can then be uploaded to a camera.

5.Upload your newly trained model to your target camera.

NOTE: Downloaded AI models can be deployed to a camera via Device Manager/Wise Detector.

FLEX AI: How do I upload a FLEX AI model to a camera?

Summary:

This article describes how, after training a FLEX AI model, you can download it, and then upload it to a compatible P-Series AI camera.

Note: For simplification, the term ‘model’ refers to a ‘custom object model’.

Requirements:

• A compatible camera

• Latest version of Device Manager

• Latest camera firmware

• Latest version of the WiseAI open platform application installed onto the camera

NOTE: A FLEX AI model cannot run concurrently with a Hanwha Vision AI Pack.
Any existing AI Pack must first be uninstalled from the camera.
However, a FLEX AI model can run in parallel with the WiseAI app.

Step By Step Guide:

To initially upload a Custom Detection Model:

1.Download the model from FLEX AI.

2.Launch Wise AI

3.Go to the Setup tab

4.Choose the Object.tar file you’ve downloaded from FLEX AI.

5.Receive the success message

6.You can now see the model within the list

Also from within the Object Detection from the menu.

You should also see FLEX AI Model below the other object detection options.

To upload a different model:

1.Only (1) custom model can be uploaded to a camera at this time
Remove the previous model(Click the trashcan icon next to the model)

2.Then you are free to upload a new detection model following the same steps above.

Unbricking your Dahua IP camera (Tips, Tricks & Firmware), I am starting this thread to capture a bunch of information in one spot to assist those with “bricked” cameras due failed firmware upgrades. I bought my first Dahua IP camera just a couple weeks ago. I was impressed & pretty happy with it, but upon reading about new capabilities in newer firmware, I decided to upgrade it. Then like many others on here, I lost access to the Web GUI and the camera was no longer functioning.

I spent the last two weeks getting to know everything about these cameras and this thread will capture all this information. It will take me several weeks to document all the information so please be patient.

There are a variety of problems that I will try my best to explain and share the possible solutions. I have gotten pretty comfortable with these cameras and have purposely bricked them to various degrees of severity just to validate the recovery process. Most people “brick” their cameras trying to upgrade the firmware. This is not a serious issue and it can be corrected very easily. The camera runs an upgrade service on port 3800. The configTool always shows a default port of 37777 but this is not an issue as it can do the upgrade on port 3800 anyway. Change your port to 3800 and use a firmware file lsted below and you are back in business.

I will keep updating this post as I get more time to write all the details around recovery. I will also post links to over 40+ firmware files that and which cameras they will work with. It will take me a bit of time to capture all this information, so please be patient.

How to Download and Prepare Firmware

This guide will show how to download and prepare the firmware file for a Dahua device.

Firmware files for Dahua devices can be found at Firmware by Device or the specific product page for the device

Firmware is typical provided in a ZIP file, a compressed file format

This file will contain the actual firmware file, which needs to be extracted from the ZIP file in preparation for the upgrade

Prerequisites

• Computer with internet access (to download firmware file)

• Dahua device

Video Instructions

Step by Step Instructions

Confirm the Model and current firmware of Dahua device

1. Enter the IP of the device into a browser

At the Web Login

Enter the Username and Password

Click Login

2. Click Info

3. Click Version

The Device Type will be displayed

The current System Version will be displayed

Download the firmware file for device from DahuaWiki

4. In a browser go to DahuaWiki.com

Under Specifications, Firmware, & Manuals

Click the device type (in this example Recorder)

5. Enter the device model into the field

6. The results will be filtered

7. Click the firmware icon to download the firmware file

8. The file will download

Extract the firmware file to local computer

9. Right click the Start Menu / Windows icon in the bottom left of the screen

Select File Explorer

10. Select Desktop

11. Click Home

Then click New folder to create a new folder to extract the contents of the firmware zip file

12. Find the created folder in the list, double click to open

13. Under the Downloads window of the browser, click ‘Show in folder’

A new File Explorer window should open containing the directory the firmware zip was downloaded to

Locate the file in the list

14. Right click

Select Cut

15. Select the window with the new directory

Right click in the window

Select Paste

The folder will appear in the directory

16. Right click the file

17. The contents of the zip file will appear in a new window

18. Click to select all files in the folder

Drag and drop the files to the created folder

The files will appear in the directory

The firmware file will appear in the directory ready to use

Unbricking your Dahua IP camera (Tips, Tricks & Firmware)

BRICKED CAMERA? How can you tell?

There are several types of “BRICKED” camera conditions and they have varying levels of severity and also varying levels of complexity for recovery. Most are simple and caused by bad firmware uploads. The worst will require a full rebuild of the partitions which load the kernel, software and all other data.

1. The first step in identifying the severity of your issue is to determine what still working on your camera. In order to do that, lets remove as many variables as possible to the troubleshooting process. If possible, connect the camera ethernet and PC ethernet on it’s own switch and make sure that no vlan tagging is enabled on the switch.

Next, you need to figure out if the IP address is still reacheable. Ping the last known ip address. The default address for most cameras is 192.168.1.108.

If you don’t know it you can use the arp/ping method to configure which adds as startic arp entry to a new ip address. (This feature is enabled on the camera by default)

2. Once you have a pingable IP, you need to know what services are still active on the camera. This can be done with a simple port scanner. I have added a link to below in tools.

3. Run the port scanner and record which ports are still open. In many cases port 23 and port 3800 will still be open. If this is your situation, it is a very simple fix. If no ports are open, you will need to do a full image load which is more complex.

The typical ports that you would see are:

23 – Telnet access

80 – Web User interface

443 – SSL

554 – Real time streaming port

3800 – Upgrade Deamon

5000 – UPnP

37777 – TCP Video streaming

37778 – UDP Video Streaming

42323 – Real time remote runner

1A. If port 3800 is open you can connect with the Dahua Config tool (link below in tools). I tdefault to port 37777 but change it to 3800 as this port where the upgrade daemon is listening. Port 37777 is a redirect but it won’t work if your firmware has failed.

Launch the config tool and click on login button. Type the IP address , username and password then port 3800.

Open a know working firmware file and upload to the camera.

1B. If port 3800 is not open, go to the next step to enable port 3800.

2. If you have telnet access, you can login with putty. Link to putty below in tools. The default Web UI password is admin / admin.

In older firmware the telnet account is root / vizxv

In newer firmware the telnet account is admin / 7ujMko0+”web UI password” —> 7ujmko0admin

Once connected you can execute a ps command to see running processes. /usr/sbin/upgraded process is what listens on port 3800 for the firmware binary file.

There is also another copy in /var/tmp/

A useful tip for watching the upgrade process is to kill the “upgraded” process that is running and re-launch it in the foreground to watch the upgrade.

Here you can see each partition being loaded wit the individual img files. I will write a quick how to on loading each one individually at a later time.

If you chose a valid firmware file, you will be back in working order. If you still have problems, repeat with another firmware file till you have a valid file. The IPC-HFW4300S-V2 is not natively compatible with all other 4300S firmware. I am in the process of writing a how to that explains how to over come this issue.

OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION (to be sorted later)

The firmware consists of several images that are loaded into various partitions in flash in a UBI file system. You can load each partition separately if needed. More on this later…. (I’ll put a guide together on flashing and recovering partitions)

Once you telnet into the camera, there are number of useful binaries in the user shell that can help correct and diagnose some of the problems people are experiencing. One of the helpful steps is to kill the /var/tmp/upgraded process and run it in the foreground so you can see what is going on and easily capture error messaged. The /var/tmp/upgraded process is what opens the port 3800 and allows you to connect to the camera with the config tool if your web services have failed. There is also another copy in usr/sbin/.

Also, in there is a command to reset all the parameters back to factory defaults (username, password, ip address back to 192.168.1.108 etc.) This can be accomplished with /sbin/clearparam.

Another issue that people run into is the constant reboot issue. This can be caused by a failed process. The main application which provides all the camera capabilities (web interface, streaming, etc.) is /usr/bin/sonia. This process is what makes most firmware different from version to version (sort of). There are also changes to the web partition which contains the web server pages that /usr/bin sonia hosts on port 80. The sonia process is invoked by a shell script in init.d and if the process is killed, the camera reboots after a few minutes. This has cause many people issues when trying to “unbrick” the camera since you only have a few minutes between reboots.

To stop the reboots you can update the flash. There is a parameter called appauto that tells the camera to auto start /us/bin/sonia. If you want the camera to start and not invoke the shell script that launches sonia, you need to set appauto to 0. This will stop the camera from rebooting when sonia is not running.

This cam be accomplished by running ‘/sbin/appauto 0’. To turn it back on, just run /sbin/appauto 1. This writes the boot parameter in flash that the kernel reads before starting the process. You can check the current status of the appauto bootparameter with ‘cat /proc/dahua/bootpara’ It will only show what the parameter was when you booted up, so if you changes it you need to reboot to see the change in /proc/dahua/bootpara.

You can change the subtype to 1 for the secondary stream also you can add user:password@ in front of the IP address if you have the permissions set requiring it.

You can use the HTTP API to configure some parameters that are not yet in the web UI. For instance, another member discovered he could enable NFS through the web UI in addition to the local SD card. This config is not possible through the web interface as you need to pick one or the other.

These documents details the API of Dahua video products (links provided to some of the versions below). Programmers or users can access and configure Dahua video products through the API. Every setting of the camera is available through the API whereas only a small number are available through the WEB interface. The document with version 1.10 is available with firmware version 2.0 and above. This document with version 1.20, 1.21, 1.22, 1.23,1.24,1,25,1,26,1,27,1,28 is available with firmware 2.210 and above.This document with version 1. 29 ,1.30, 1.31, 1.32, 1.33, 1.34, 1.35,

1.36 is available with firmware 2.210 and above.This document with version 1.37 is available with firmware 2.212, 2.4 and above.

I have also done a bit of testing around the tftp process that is invoked in u-boot that looks for upgrade_info_7db780a713a4.txt and failed.txt. I think with a little more work, I’ll figure out if there is a recovery method using tftp without serial access. This would be necessary if you lose telnet access and need to rebuild the kernel partition that hosts telnetd.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR IPC-HFW4300S-V2 CAMERAS

The new camera appears to have differences (a few that I already found) that makes some of the general firmware incompatible with them. I have found a workaround, but it is complex. I will try to summarize it in a separate thread in the following weeks. I will also repackage the newest firmware files in versions that will work for the V2 cameras. Stay tuned! In the meantime, you can use General_IPC-HX5(4)XXX_Eng_N_V2.210.0000.21.R.20140613.bin or the PAL equivalent to recover your camera.

Well, that’s all I have time to share for now, but I’ll do my best to put together a comprehensive guide to the inner workings of these cameras and a guide to unbrick in any failed software situation.

What should I do if I fail to configure the Tapo Smart Plug?

The Tapo app will guide you step by step during the initial configuration, but you may not be able to get through all the steps due to some interference. This FAQ will tell you what to do if you have trouble getting through a certain step.

Case 1

The phone is looking for the smart device via Bluetooth or its default 2.4GHz WiFi, if you are unable to get through this step, you will see the following error page.

2.If you need to configure multiple devices, turn on One device at a time to avoid setup failure.

3.Check the LED status and ensure the device is ready for setup. Try to factory reset the device if the LED is abnormal.

If you are unable to find your home Wi-Fi network, please refer to the following suggestions.

Troubleshooting tips:

1. The signal strength of your home Wi-Fi network is a bit weak, move the smart device closer to your router for a try.

2. Ensure your home Wi-Fi network is a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, the Tapo device does not support a 5GHz Wi-Fi connection.

3. If it doesn’t display the Wi-Fi name of the router automatically, please click on “RECAN” at the upper right corner to refresh the Wi-Fi list.

4. If the router’s SSID is hidden, please choose “Other” to input SSID and password manually.

5. Please change the wireless channel of the 2.4G Wi-Fi network to 1, 6 or 11.

6. Reset the device as per QIG/UG and go through the process again.

Case 3

If you are unable to get through this step, you will see the following error page.

Troubleshooting tips:

1. Ensure you have selected the correct home Wi-Fi network and have entered the correct wireless password. If the Wi-Fi network or password is incorrect, click on “Choose a Network” and select the Wi-Fi network again.

2. Make sure your smart device is within the Wi-Fi range of your router.

3. Turn your phone’s or tablet’s Bluetooth off and back on.

4. If the problem persists, try to reset the smart device as per UG/QIG, and then set it up again.

5. Check if there is a firewall on your router. If yes, please turn it off.

6. Change the wireless security type of the 2.4G network to WPA2.

7. Try to connect the Tapo plug to the hotspot of your cell phone or another wifi network. If it works, please upgrade the firmware for the plug, then reset and reconnect it to your router.

What features does Tapo smart plug and Tapo smart switch support?

Currently the Tapo plug and switch supports the following features:

• Remote Control: Turn your smart plug on or off from anywhere using the Tapo app.

• Timer: Set a countdown timer to automatically turn the smart plug on or off after a certain amount of time.

• Schedule: Schedule when to turn the smart plug on or off automatically at times.

• Away Mode: Set a period of time during which the smart plug will be randomly turned on and off to make it seem like someone is home.

• Device Sharing: Invite your family members to manage the smart plug together.

How to view Tapo camera on PC/NAS/NVR through RTSP/Onvif Protocol

The Tapo camera supports the RTSP and Onvif protocol, so it can work with third-party NVR or NAS devices that also support the RTSP/Onvif protocol. If a user wants to view the live stream of the camera with a third-party app like VLC Player, iSpy, here is the method for him.

Notes:

1. The username/password is the camera account that you created via the Tapo app. If you haven’t created the username and password, please follow the instruction of Step 1 in this article.

2. The IP address is the camera’s IP address assigned by your host router. You can find it on your host router’s DHCP list or in the Tapo app (Go to the Device Settings page of the camera and tap Device Info to see its IP).

3. If you want to view the live stream of the Tapo camera with a third-party app remotely, you will need to open port 554 for the camera on your host router first. Please enable the TCP forwarding for port 554.

4. You could use ONVIF standards to add the Tapo camera with its username/password and IP address. Please see the example of iSpy in Case 2 to know how to use onvif protocal to control the camera.

5. For Tapo C310, the resolution of the stream1 is determined by the video quality set on the Tapo APP.

If you need to watch the 3MP HD Video via RTSP, please change the video quality to Best Quality on the Tapo APP and use: rtsp://IP Address/stream1

6. If the Camera is inserted microSD card and subscribed Tapo Care, its RTSP stream will fail. You need to remove microSD card or cancel Tapo Care to get its RTSP stream.

7. If you find that there’s no or very little sound when using RTSP/Onvif to watch live stream, please adjust the camera microphone on Tapo APP.

Apart from the Tapo app, Tapo cameras can work with other third-party software to use and manage your Tapo camera.

Note: Before you start, make sure the computer/NAS/NVR and your camera are connecting to the same network or can visit the public IP and port of your camera.

Step 1: Create a camera account in the Tapo app

1. On the Home page, tap on your camera model card to go to the camera Live View page (or you can click on Cameras tab>tap Manage on your camera model to go to the Live View page).

2. On the Live View page, tap the icon at the top right corner to enter the Device Settings page.

3. Tap Advanced Settings, then select Camera Account to create an account (username and password) for camera login on other portals.

You will see a prompt like below (About Camera Account), please read it and tap Understand and Agree to Use, then you can create an account for the camera.

Note: The username and password should contain 6 to 32 characters.

Step 2: Add your Tapo camera on iSpy (Example of Onvif protocol connection)

1. Run the iSpy software on your computer.

2. Click Add on the top left menu and select ONVIF Camera.

3. Enter the Username and Password that you set for your camera on the pop-up window, select Network Address, and click Next. You can customize other parameters if needed.

4. Choose the video resolution and click OK.

5. Customize the camera settings as needed, including Microphone, Talk, Motion Detection, Alerts, Recording, Images, Scheduling, and Storage. You can also change all the settings later. Click Finish to complete adding your camera to iSpy.

6. After adding your Tapo camera to iSpy, you can monitor and manage it using the app. View the live, customize motion detection, check the recordings when motion detected, set recording schedules, record videos and more.

Step 3: Watch your Tapo camera on VLC (Example of RTSP protocol connection)

1.Open the VLC software, select Media > Open Network Stream

2.Fill in the URL of the Tapo camera

The URL of the RTSP live stream for the Tapo cameras will be:

For high quality stream1: rtsp://IP Address/stream1

For low quality stream2: rtsp:// IP Address/stream2

In some software, the URL need to add the port to access live stream, the default port is 554:

For high quality stream1: rtsp://IP Address:554/stream1

For low quality stream2: rtsp:// IP Address:554/stream2

How to factory reset the Tapo or Kasa smart plug

To restore a Tapo or Kasa smart plug to its factory default settings and re-enable the setup mode, please press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.

The LED status for a factory reset varies by model:

After a completing the reset, you can then connect and configure the device in the Tapo App.

How to avoid noise when monitoring the sound from Tapo camera

Tapo cameras are capable of not only monitoring video stream from the camera, but also monitoring sound collected by the built-in microphone on the cameras. You can turn on/off the sound feature like the monitor screen as below. But to increase or decrease the volume, you need to press the volume button on your phone.

Why is there noise?

Noise is a physical phenomenon and it’s actually inevitable. Basically, the IP cameras including other brands’ have background noise more or less. And those cameras which seem to generate less noise probably have worse sound collecting performance. Tapo cameras are designed with a sensible sound collector which might take some noise in your monitor. Even though it is inevitable at present, we are still trying our best to make improvement and searching for better solutions.

How to reduce the noise?

1. Please keep your mobile device away from the camera as much as possible. The Tapo camera is designed for remote access and monitoring via cloud service, local usage in close range may cause interference and noise between your mobile device and the camera.

2. Please reduce the output volume below 50% since a louder volume may enlarge noise decibel. The value between 40%-50% is suggested with not only good sound quality but also minimum noise decibel. As long keep focus on our cloud camera you will find our progress on new models.

How to edit Home and Away Mode for Tapo&Kasa Cameras on the Tapo app

The Away mode and the Home mode are two different sets of Detection, Alarm, and Notification settings for Tapo&Kasa cameras. You can tap the button on the Tapo app>Cameras tab to quickly apply the preset settings to the cameras when you are home or away.

Note:

1.The mode settings will overwrite the current settings.

2.Different camera models have different Detection, Alarm, and Notification settings.

3.The Home mode and Away mode settings won’t sync if you use different phones to log in to the Tapo app.

Here we take the Home Mode as an example.

For Tapo Cameras:

1. Open Tapo APP, find the Cameras tab at the bottom, and locate the Detection Mode section.

You can tap to activate the Home or Away mode, which will overwrite the current settings of all cameras. To edit the mode settings, click the three-dots option.

2. Click on Add Devices if you want to add more cameras to the Home mode.

Click on the Edit icon at the top right corner if you want to delete cameras from the Home mode.

3. Select the camera you want to edit the mode settings. Here we take Tapo C200 as an example, and you can change the Privacy mode, Detection, Alarm, and Notification settings of the camera.

Take the Motion Detection feature as an example. You can click on Motion Detection to turn it on or off, change the Motion Sensitivity, and set the Activity Zones on the Motion Detection page.

4. Click on the Back icon at the top left corner of the Tapo C200 page if you have changed the configurations, and click on other cameras if you want to change their configurations.

After completely presetting the Home or Away Mode, you can tap the Home mode or Away mode card on the Tapo app>Cameras tab to switch your cameras’ settings quickly.

For Kasa Cameras:

Here we take KC115 as an example.

1. Open the Tapo app, find the Cameras tab at the bottom and you can tap to activate the Home or Away mode, which will overwrite the current settings of all cameras. To edit the mode settings, click the three dots option.

2. Select the camera you want to edit the mode settings and enter the Detection & Alerts page.

3. You can change the Privacy mode, Detection, and Notification settings of the camera.

Tap Detection > Motion Detection to edit the motion detection function. You can adjust Motion Sensitivity.

Tap Detection>AI Detection to change your AI Detection feature, such as Person Detection.

4. After editing the detection settings, tap Detection & Alerts > Notifications to customize its current settings.

After completely presetting the Home or Away Mode, you can tap the card on the Tapo app>Cameras tab to switch all of your cameras’ detection settings to the mode you want.

How can I find the IP address of my Tapo&Kasa camera

Note: Some Tapo battery cameras or doorbells need to work with the hub and can’t connect to the router directly, which do not have IP address.

There are two methods to find the IP address of the camera.

Here we take Tapo C200 as an example.

Method 1: Via Tapo app

1. On the Tapo app> Home page, tap your camera model card to go to the Live View page (or you can click on Cameras tab>tap Manage on your camera model to go to the Live View page).

2. On the Live View page, tap the icon at the top right corner to enter the Device Settings page.

3. Tap Device Info and then you can find the IP address of your camera.

Method 2: Via the web management page of your router

Here we take the TP-Link router Archer C7 as an example.

1. Log in to the management page of your router.

2. Go to Advanced > Network > DHCP Server and locate the DHCP Client List section to find the IP address of your camera.

How can I view continuous recordings of Tapo&Kasa cameras on the Tapo app?

This article will show you how to view continuous recordings on the Tapo app.

Note:

1.A microSD card is needed for continuous recording. Insert the microSD card and initiate it using the Tapo app.

2.The camera models without a microSD card slot do not have this feature.

3.The battery-powered cameras (such as Tapo C420, C400, D230, etc.) do not support the continuous recording feature.

For Tapo Cameras

Here we take Tapo C200 as an example.

Step 1.

On the Home page of the Tapo app:

• Click on your camera model card to go to the Live View page.

• Click on the icon at the top right corner of the Live View page to go to the Device Settings page.

• Tap Storage & Recording and then ensure the microSD Card Recording feature is enabled.

Step 2.

Click on Recording Schedule to see the detailed recording schedule settings.

Tap Edit on the Recording Schedule page if you want to change the Continuous Recording and Detection Recording schedule.

And please tap the tick icon at the top right corner to save your changes.

Step 3.

On the camera’s Live View page, tap Playback & Download, select the SD Card icon on the Playback page, select the date, and then you can drag the timeline to view the continuous recordings.

For Kasa Cameras

Here we take KC115 as an example.

Step 1.

On the Home page of the Tapo app:

• Click on your camera model card to go to the Live View page.

• Click on the icon at the top right corner of the Live View page to go to the Device Settings page.

• Tap Storage & Recording and then ensure the microSD Card Recording feature is enabled.

Step 2.

On the Live View page of the camera, tap Playback & Download > Playback to view all recordings. Drag the timeline and you can view recordings whenever you want and wherever you are.

What can I do if the video image is upside down on my Tapo&Kasa camera

Tapo&Kasa cameras support the function of Video Rotation, and if the camera video image is upside down on the Tapo app, please refer to the following steps to correct it.

Here we take Tapo C200 as an example.

1. On the Home page of the Tapo app, tap your camera model card or tap the Cameras tab>click on Manage on your camera model to go to the Live View page.

2. On the Live View page, tap the icon on the top right corner to enter the Device Settings page.

4.Tap Video & Display on the Device Settings page and toggle on or off the Invert Image option to rotate the image 180°.

What can I do if I can’t find my Tapo camera on Tapo APP?

If your device does not appear on your app after completing the configuration process, please try the following troubleshooting suggestions:

1. If you are using a Wi-Fi wireless configuration to connect your camera, please check if the camera has successfully connected to the router. You can verify whether the camera is connected to Wi-Fi by checking the System light of your camera. For most Tapo Cams, if it is not connected properly, the LED light will blink red slowly. For the HomeKit version Camera, its LED light indicator will blink blue slowly. If the camera cannot connect properly, we recommend resetting the camera to factory default settings as per the User Guide and then reconfiguring the camera.

2. Check the DHCP settings on your router and ensure that the DHCP Server of your router is enabled. If the camera has already connected to the router properly, you will see the device in the client list of your router. If you don’t know how to do this, please contact your router’s customer support.

3. Please verify if there are any special symbols in your Tapo account（TP-Link ID） password. If there are, try to remove them and make the account password simpler by only using numbers and English letters. Then reset and add the camera from the beginning again.

4. Connect your smartphone to the same Wi-Fi network as your camera and check whether you can see it on the Tapo app. If you can see it, that means the camera fails to connect to the cloud for unknown reasons and you cannot access it remotely. In this case, verify if any firewall or security settings are blocking the connection to the Cloud Server. Temporarily disable any antivirus, firewall, or security software to see if it resolves the issue

5. Using a public DNS server may improve the connection, try changing your router’s DNS server settings to 8.8.8.8. If you don’t know how to do this, please contact your router’s customer support.

To eliminate potential issues with the router’s Wi-Fi network, it is recommended to use a mobile hotspot and configure the Camera to test its functionality.

Here are steps for using a mobile hotspot to test the Camera’s configuration:

Preparation: We suggest having two phones. Use one phone (Phone A) to create a hotspot and use another phone (Phone B) to download the Tapo app and complete the setup process.

Steps:

1. On Phone A, disable Wi-Fi and enable only mobile data.

2. On Phone A, navigate to phone settings and access the “Personal Hotspot” or “Mobile Hotspot” option, ensuring that the “Mobile Hotspot” feature is activated. Please make sure the created hotspot operates on a 2.4GHz network.

3. Set a unique name and password for the hotspot, different from your router’s Wi-Fi, to facilitate the Camera’s connection.

4. On Phone B, download the Tapo app. Follow the app’s instructions to add the device and complete the remaining setup steps as guided by the app.

Please contact TP-Link technical support with the following information if the issue persists after the above suggestions.

1) Your TP-Link ID or cloud account.

2) The model number of your TP-Link Cam and its MAC address.

3) The model number of the host router.

For locations that use Daylight Saving Time, enable the slider below DST and select the dates and times that Daylight Savings starts and stops.
When you are done adjusting settings, select Apply at the bottom to save the settings.

• Record Stream – Which stream to record, the Main Stream or Sub Stream

Adjust each Event Type on the weekly calendar.
When you are done adjusing the schedules, click on Apply to save your changes

7. Select the Storage tab at the top.
Adjust the settings on this page as desired:

• Event Type – Check the boxes for which Event Types you want it to record and uncheck the ones you don’t want to record

• Disk Full – Choose the behavior for when the SD Card becomes full. “Overwrite” to have it delete the oldest recordings when it fills up, or “Stop” to have all recordings stop when it fills up.

• Storage Method – Where recordings will be saved. “Local Storage” for the SD Card or “Network Storage” for an FTP Server

When you are done adjusting settings, click on Apply to save the settings

Reset via Password Recovery in DMSS

Click on Forgot password?

2. Click on OK to agree to use your email address in this process

3. If you setup a recovery email you will be brought to a page with a QR code on it. (If you didn’t setup a recovery email, skip to “Reset via Physical Button” at the bottom of this page.)

4. Open the DMSS app on a mobile device.
Tap on Me at the bottom.
Then select Tool Manager

5. Tap on Device Password Management

6. Use the mobile device’s camera to scan the QR code from Step 3 above

7. Once the QR Code has been successfully scanned you will see the following message

8. Check the email inbox for the email address that was registered for password recovery on this device.
Input the security code from that email in the Security code field.
Then click on Next

9. Enter a new password in the New Password and Confirm Password fields.
Then click on OK

10. The password will be successfully reset

Depending on the model of your IP Camera, there could be a physical reset button on the outside body of the camera, or inside the camera body.

1. Reset: Press the reset button for 10-20 seconds while the camera is connected to power.

1. Check Unpacked NVR When you receive the NVR from the forwarding agent, please check whether there is any visible damage. The protective materials used for the package of the NVR can protect most accidental clashes during transportation. Then you can open the box to check the accessories. 2. About Front Panel and Rear Panel For detailed information of the function keys in the front panel and the ports in the rear panel, please refer to the User’s Manual included in the resource CD. The model label in the front panel is very important; please check according to your purchase order. The label in the rear panel is very important too. Usually we need you to represent the serial number when we provide the service after sales.

3. After Remove the Chassis Please check the data cable, power cable, COM cable and main boar cable connection is secure or not.

4. Important：Please turn off the power before you replace the HDD. You can refer to the User’s Manual for recommended HDD brand. Please use HDD of 7200rpm or higher. Usually we do not recommend a PC HDD. For detailed operation instruction, please refer to the User’s Manual included in the resources CD.

1. Use the screwdriver to loose the screws of the rear panel and then remove the front cover.

2. Put the HDD to the HDD bracket in the chassis and then line up the four screws to the four holes in the HDD. Use the screwdriver to fix the screws firmly to secure HDD on the HDD bracket

3. Connect to the HDD data cable to the main board and the HDD port respectively. Loosen the power cable of the chassis and connect another end of the power cable to the HDD port.

4. After connect the cable, put the front cover back to the device and then fix screws of the rear panel.

Setup The System

This system is standalone with embedded Linux Operating System in the NVR. Just like a desktop PC, need to hook a screen to the NVR to enter the OS .Any TV,monitor with VGA or HDMI input should work for it.

How to check if your Cloud is online and Network status is healthy ?

Right click the mouse of the register,choose Fast Network.In the middle of the window you should see Cloud status as ONLINE and Network Status as Healthy Network.

If this does not appear, select Manual Config then enable DHCP,Click Apply,then power off the NVR box,wait a few seconds and power up.

Once you power up, repeat the steps outlined as above.Cloud status must be ONLINE and Network Status must be Healthy Network.If this does not happen,you will not be able to view remotely

There are 3 modes for reocrd.

1.Time Recording: Setup period of time of recording on NVR GUI.Right click mouse→System Setup→Record setup→Record Plan.Click “time”and put mouse icon on the upper left corner(for example“1”as picture shows),press and drag the mouse to the right to choose the time.The list will turn to red.

2.Motion Recording: Only detect motion and then start recording.Right click mouse→System Setup→Record setup→Record Plan.Click“motion”and put mouse icon on the upper left corner,press and drag the mouse to the right to choose the time.The list will turn to green.

3.Alarm recording: Right click mouse→System Setup→Record setup→Record Plan.Click “Alarm” and put mouse icon on the upper left corner,press and drag the mouse to the right to choose the time.
The list will turn to yellow.

Note: Users can setup any period of time they want,for example 0:00:00-23:59:59,That’s 24 hours×7days recording.When NVR detects hard disk,the default setting will be 24 hours×7 days recording.

The priority of Alarm is higher than that of Motion,and the priority of Motion is higher than that of Time.

Video Playback

Steps: right clik mouse in main menu→Video playback→choose date,channel,record mode→click search→then can view playback file.(IE browser can’t check the playback directly,so you can use the Eseecloud software on computer or check on your phone app Eseecloud and IP RPO)

Warm prompt:

2.Play file:Choose the recording file in file list,as number “1” shown in picture.Choose one of the recording,click “play” to play to recording file;

4.Timeline: Click “date”and “time”at left bottom to check the timeline of recording,as number “2″ shown in picture;

5.On the timeline with recording file,left click the mouse,the can playback the file.

Notes: you can see four channel cameras playback at the same time,if you want to check other channels you need select the correct channel at first,then choose search to find it playback.

How to Backup the video

Use U disk to copy video,so easy and convenient!

1.2 USB ports: Plug U flash disk into the USB port of NVR. Right click on main menu→Video backup→choose backup channel→choose video mode→setup searching time→search→choose recording file on the list→video backup (support 32G U flash disk at max.Recording file is packed one hour per time.)

2.1 USB port: Right click on main menu→video backup→choose backup channel→choose video mode→setup searching time→search→choose recording file on the list→video backup, insert U flash disk within reminding 1 minute,then the system will backup recording file to U flash disk.

The playback files is avi. format, you can use VLC player to check it on your computer VLC player.

To view on the Phone

Users can use cellphone to scan the QR code below to install the APP free of charge,or users can search “Eseecloud”or ’IP PRO‘ on APP store or Google Play then install the APP.

Click “+”→other ways to add/ scan the QR code on your fast network page→Network connected device→input Cloud ID and User name and password (user name and password is the same one you login in NVR)

Tips: if you’ve set a password on your NVR system,please update your password on APP to view.
And if your camera loading for a long time and don’t show image,you can right click your NVR mouse and choose System Setup→Network setup,change the MTU to 1000.

Playback On Mobiles

In the Eseecloud APP,while viewing live video of the system,click Playback,you will enter the remote playback menu.The APP Playback only check one channel at one time

Tips: Videos in playback are HD mode for real time which requires very good transmission condition.
We suggest to playback in LAN.Remote playback out of LAN may not 100% work due to connection & network condition.

Extend WIFI Range

Wireless connection is easy and convenient, but it’s not universal application. Because of the character of WIFI, the WIFI signal will decrease when going through some obstacles Some methods can be applied to bypass obstacles and extend WiFi range.

Position The Antenna Correctly

WIFI range is like an apple and the antenna of NVR is in the center of it.WIFI signal is strong all around the WIFI range.Antenna of NVR should be put straight up,if not,WIFI signal will be weak.
According to the signal transmission character of antenna, the antenna of cameras should overlap or parallel to NVR WIFI range,as pictures showed below:

Note:When WIFI signal is not strong enough against walls,users can take off the original antenna and subtitute antenna extension cord.Drill a hole on the wall to let the extension cord go through and simply it where WIFI signal is strong.

Repeater function can’t strengthen WIFI signal for wireless NVR kit, but can extend the distance by repeaters→WIFI cameras.

Only when the repeater cameras and repeated cameras are positioned correctly,WIFI distance will be extended.

Repeater function and 3 meters antenna extension cord are two methods to extend WIFI range.
Users can choose one according to real situation.

Repeater Setup

Step 1. Right click the NVR mouse,and choose “Video Manage”- -then left click Repeater”

Step 3. As picture shown below, it means IPC1 is connected to NVR through IPC2 and IPC3.
IPC2 is connected to NVR through IPC3.IPC3 is connected to NVR directly.

Step 4. Click “Apply” and then click “refresh” to check if the setting is successful.

Move the mouse to targeted channels,left click to delete,and then click “Apply” and “OK”.

Application Example

As picture shown above, when IPCAM1 is put somewhere is out of NVR WIFI range,and there is IPCAM2 between them with strong WIFI signal,users can put IPCAM1 close to NVR and power it, setup IPCAM1 repeated by IPCAM2, and then install IPCAM1 to the presupposed place.

Camera add failure reasons and solutions

Q1: Failed to add the camera for the first time

Check whether the green light of the camera flashes normally. If the camera status light is not flashing green, use a thimble to lightly insert the configuration hole or long press the reset button until the camera indicator flashes.

Q2: Determine whether the binding failure caused by the router settings

1. The router has been set up to prevent Wi-fi squatter If the Wi-Fi connected to the camera is set to prevent Wi-fi squatter(black and white lists, MAC address filtering, etc.), the camera will not be able to connect to the Internet. The router’s prevent Wi-fi squatter settings need to be canceled.

2. The router is set up with 5GHz band wireless WiFi The camera does not currently support the connection of 5G band WiFi. Please open the router management page (generally marked with the address of the management page on the bottom label of the router), select the wireless setting 2.4GHz, and set it to on.

Q3: Check whether the mobile phone prohibit the permission of EseeCloud to use data, WLAN, GPS

Domestic Android phones may prohibit the use of data, WLAN, GPS permissions for this application, resulting in the camera being unable to connect to WiFi. Solution (Android phone): Open the phone settings center-click “application management”-open the above permissions

Q4: Make sure that the WilFi account and password are filled in correctly

It is likely that the Wi-Fi account and password you connected to the camera are incorrect, resulting in the camera not being able to connect to the network. In particular, pay attention to whether there is a space input, and try to avoid complex and uncommon symbols.

Q5: Other questions

1. If the router is set to bridge mode, the WiFi signal will be unstable, causing the connection to fail. It is not recommended to use WiFi in bridge mode when the camera is networked.

2. If you are a campus / enterprise user and the school 1 company assigns each student / employee a static IP to access the Internet, you can manually enter the static IP information to access the Internet.At present, this situation is not supported by camera networking, need to select other available WiFi connections.

3. The camera does not support WPA / WPA2’s “enterprise” encryption method to connect the camera to the network. Support WEP, WPA–PSK 1 WPA2–PSK, or corporate WiFi without password. If the camera is networked in the corporate network environment, please confirm in advance whether the WiFi encryption method meets the camera networking requirements.

What should do if the camera is offline?

1. Check whether your device is power-on and the status light is on;

Frequently Asked Questions

Question one：After installation, open the CMS and display “Cannot load plugin”?

Answer one：

1.Please confirm whether the installation path uses Chinese when installing, and the plugin is temporarily not compatible with Chinese path.

2.After confirming the non-Chinese path, if the problem persists, you can contact technical support for assistance.

Question two：After connecting multiple channels of video (more than 30 channels), videos stop for a few seconds , all channels are automatically disconnected into the black screen. The device connected again has no response. Do we need to restart the CMS?

Answer two：The new version of CMS3.0.1 runs with higher memory. If you connect many channels by the lower configuration computer, the computer system will run out of memory, causing the CMS to run abnormally. If the computer configuration is slightly lower, it is recommended not to connect too many channels. The optimization work has been planned for this situation.

Question three：When CMS is installed on the OSX system, it displays “File is corrupted” or “Unable to open” when it is opened?

Answer three：

1.Open “System Settings” → “Security and Privacy” → “Allow applications to be downloaded in the following location”, check “any source” (applies to versions prior to OSX10.12.X);

2.Open “Terminal”, enter the string “sudo spctl –master-disable”, press the “Enter” key, enter the sudo password (applicable to versions after OSX10.12.X). If the above method still does not work, please contact us to help you solve it.

Basic Settings

Split screen number：The selected split screen number is displayed after the re-login, and the CMS provides split screen 1/4/6/8/9/16/25/36/49 nine forms of choice.

Display language：CMS currently defaults to 9 display languages, such as Simplified Chinese and English. When you choose to log in again, you will switch to the corresponding language.

Login Method：The cloud login mode is online. You need to connect to the external network when you log in. The local login does not have this hard requirement.

List style：The list style includes tree shape and graphics. The replacement is only the real-time preview interface and the display of the device list under the playback interface. The device list under other interfaces is unified into the tree list style.

Path modification：

①Screenshot path: The screenshot file is saved in the snapshot folder by default, and can be saved in other paths according to its own needs.

• The current CMS version of the user name can only use “admin”, the initial password is empty. In order to prevent potential safety hazards, please be sure to modify the initial password after the initial login to prevent unauthorized access to your device or other adverse consequences.

• For better protection of your privacy and improving product security, we strongly recommend that you set up complex passwords based on the following rules: greater than 8 characters, including uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, special characters, and so on. Please understand that it is your responsibility to properly configure all passwords and other related product security settings.

Note:

①The cloud login should be logged in with the registered account (the account registered by the mobile app can be logged in)

②Registered account is recommended to use a valid mailbox, easy to retrieve passwords and other special circumstances

③After registering an account, you need to log in to the email address you entered during registration to activate the email address (click the received link to verify)

④The mailbox status is not activated, and cannot be retrieved after forgetting the password (activation period is two days)

⑤The first time you use EseeCloud_CMS, the software’s time zone will automatically sync with your computer, and you can change it later in the advanced settings.

CMS is called Camera Monitor System. It is a camera monitoring client for online preview image, video storage, remote playback, device management, video/screen download and other functions.

It is suitable for DVR, NVR, IPC, VR CAM, Wifi IPC and other devices.

Camera suitable for IP PRO, VR CAM, EseeCloud app.

CMS has the following characteristics

Cloud storage details

Features

1. What is cloud storage? The cloud storage function is a video storage function developed based on technologies such as moving object detection. Cloud storage is divided into two types: alarm recording and full-day recording. Alarm recording refers to triggering the camera alarm when someone passes by or moves in front of the camera. The camera will automatically record and upload it to the Cloud Space Security Center for encryption. You can use it with confidence.

Tips:

(1) As long as you purchase the cloud storage service, you can get the corresponding cloud space. For example, if you purchase the cloud deposit monthly package, the cloud space is valid for one month, and it will take effect from the successful purchase.

(2) The storage time of cloud storage video is determined by the type of package. If you open the cloud storage package for 7 days, the camera cloud video storage period is 7 days. The 30-day cloud storage package will be opened, and the camera cloud video storage cycle will be upgraded to 30 days. If you open a 7G/month cloud storage package, then your cloud recording storage space is 7G in this month. After the space is full, the cloud recording will not be saved. The stored video will be saved for one month.

2. What are the advantages of cloud storage? The video is safer: the video cloud storage can not steal, safe and reliable. More efficient viewing: generate alarm video in real time, quickly grasp the alarm situation, the video is clear and smooth without jamming Cloud storage: Camera video is stored in cloud space, no space limit, and unlimited cloud storage space.

Cloud deposit purchase and exchange

1. How to buy a cloud storage package?
Click the device list device “Cloud Record” button or the personal center “Cloud Mall” – enter the “Cloud Mall” interface – click “Switch” to select the device you want to purchase and the device channel – automatically select the appropriate package for you after the selection is completed – click ” Buy now” Once the payment is complete, you can turn on device cloud storage.
Tips:
(1) Cloud deposit does not support return and exchange after purchase, and does not support refund;
(2) The purchase channel of the device is determined by the number of package service channels of the system. If the system has only two packages with service channels 1 and 3, then the device can only select 1 or 3 purchase channels;
(3) Cloud storage is only bound to the purchase user. The device with the cloud storage is deleted and added to the new account. Under the new account, the device will not be able to continue to enjoy the cloud storage;
(4) Cloud storage is purchased by a single device and device channel, and multiple devices and multiple channels need to correspond to multiple cloud storage packages;

2. How to redeem the cloud storage package?
Click the device list device “Cloud Record” button or the personal center “Cloud Mall” – enter the “Cloud Mall” interface – click “Use Cloud Saver Code” – enter the “Scan Redemption Code” interface, scan the valid redemption code – enter the ” redemption code” Payment interface” – select the device and channel to be redeemed – click ” redeem now” to complete the redemption

Tips:
(1) The number of channels for redemption Device is determined by the number of package service channels generated by the redemption code (if the service channel of the redemption code package is 4, then the device can only select 4 channels to purchase);
(2) There is no charge for redeeming the code cloud storage package using the redemption code, and each redemption code can only be used once;

Cloud video introduction

1.cloud video types and abnormal conditions

Cloud recording is divided into two types: alarm recording and full-day recording.

Alarm recording, the video will only be uploaded when the camera detects that someone has passed, the item has been moved, and the camera alarm is triggered.

Recording all day means that the camera will automatically record when it is online and in good condition. It will be detected 24 hours a day and encrypted and uploaded to the cloud space.

The cloud video is lost when the device is deleted, the device uploads the cloud video, and the device is disconnected from the network. The device and the server are disconnected. The device network bandwidth is insufficient and the device cannot upload video and video.

2.How to turn off the automatic upload function of cloud recording?

After purchasing the cloud storage package, the cloud recording function will be automatically enabled.

You can click the “Cloud Recording” button corresponding to the device list to enter the cloud recording interface. Click the cloud storage service icon to enter the “Cloud Storage Service” – disable the cloud recording function.

Tips: After the cloud recording function is turned off, the validity period of the cloud storage will not be extended;

Cloud retention period

1.Cloud deposit validity period
Cloud deposits take effect from the date of purchase, that is, the validity period of cloud deposits is: “at the time of purchase” to “the same time point after one month / one year later”. For example, the cloud deposit package of 7 days/month was purchased at 0:00 on April 1, 2019, and the validity period of the cloud deposit is a natural month. It is: 0:00 on April 1, 2019, and O:00 on May 1, 2019.

Tips: The validity period of the channel cloud is the sum of the time of all the cloud storage packages in the channel. For example, channel 1 purchased two 7-day/ month cloud storage packages at 0:00 on April 1, 2019, then the cloud storage validity period is: 0:00 on April 1, 2019, and June 1, 2019. 0:00 on the day.

2. Can the cloud validity period be suspended?
Cloud storage is timed from the date of purchase, and will not stop during the time. after the user purchases the cloud storage, the action of deleting or stopping the uploading of the video can not affect the cloud expiration time

Cloud storage renewal

1. How to renew the cloud deposit package?
(1) Conditions for cloud surviving fee: The current device has purchased the cloud storage channel to purchase or renew the cloud storage package;
(2) Process of cloud surviving fee: Click the device “Cloud Recording” to enter the cloud recording interface click the “Cloud Storage Service” icon to enter the cloud storage service – select the channel to renew the fee – click the “Renew Now” button below to enter the cloud mall interface – Select the channel and package for renewal of the device – click on the renewal fee immediately to complete the renewal.

Tips: When you are renewing, if the renewal plan are using the package and the other channels of the package meet the renewal conditions, it will default to select previous package and channel.

Cloud storage migration

1. Unbound cloud service migration

(1) Conditions for migrating cloud services: The current account has a cloud storage service of unbound devices;

(2) Migration cloud service process:
After the device is added successfully, if the device meets the service migration conditions, the migration prompt box is displayed. After confirming, select the service that needs to be migrated to the newly added device, and click “Migration”.

If the device is a single-channel device, the device migrates directly to the device list interface. If the device is a multi-channel device, you need to select the number of channels equal to the number of services to migrate.

2. Offline device cloud service migration
(1) Offline device cloud service migration conditions: the current account has offline devices that have been bound to the cloud service;
(2) Migration process:
After the device is successfully added, if the device meets the service migration criteria, the migration prompt box is displayed. After the determination, the device iumps to the miaration interface.

b. Select an offline device to migrate. If the offline device is multi channel, you need to select the migrated device channel.

If the device is a single-channel device, the device migrates directly to the device list interface. If the device is a multi-channel device, you need to select an equal number of channels to migrate.
Tips: Do not migrate all day recording cloud services to NVR devices

FAQ

When added by LAN or cloud lD,indicate “device is not online” or “device is not registered”

1.Please make sure the network is normal and already enable DHCP on router.

2.lf users manually change network parameter of device,please change it to default parameter. Just press reset button for 10 seconds.

Device is online and there happen alarm , but cellphone gets no message?

1.Please make sure the APP is on and allowit to get APP push message,then it can get alarm notification.

2.After enable push message,check cellphone setup-application management,find out the “Eseecloud ” and enable to get push message.

Indicate “SD card error” after insert SD card.

1.Only support SD card max 128GB and FAT32 format. If the system file is error,please formart the SD card and choose FAT32 format.

2.When SD card is ruined or file system is wrong,please try to change or re-format the SD card.

Why the playback recording video content is uncontinuous?

1.For saving the room of SD card and extend the lifetime,device will only make recording when detect the actived image ,that’s why the recording content is uncontinuous.

Can the device support be powered by USB or power bank?

1.Suggest to use original power adapter. If use other adapter with the power is not stable,the device may be damaged.
