If your CCTV DVR or NVR don’t have a built-in WiFi support, then you have to run internet cable (CAT 5 or CAT 6 Ethernet cable) to connect your DVR or NVR to the internet via the router.

• Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet input on the back of the DVR.
• Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into a device providing an active internet connection, such as a router or modem.
• Test your internet connection to confirm that it is active by going to the Network > Network screen.

1) Right click mouse—go to Main Menu > Setup > Network.

2) On the Network tab, ensure the “Obtain an IP Address Automatically” option is enabled, and that there is no information in the PPPoE fields.

3) Once you’ve ensured there is no information in the PPPoE field and that the “Obtain and IP Address Automatically” option is selected, select the “Test” option.

If “OK” is displayed, the local area network is connected successfully.

If the DVR is not able to connect to the internet, you will get a message that states “Cannot Connect to Network”.

NOTE:

In order for other devices to connect to the DVR through the router, the DHCP setting must be enabled from the router’s settings page.

If you still cannot connect to the network, please ensure that you don’t have a firewall active on your network that may be limiting the connection.

You may need to open ports 80, 5000, and 5001 on your router, if they’re currently being blocked by te firewall. This typically only happens on commercial internet accounts, as they deal with sensitive transactions, but occasionally a firewall on a residential line will also block these ports.

If you’re unsure how to open ports on your router, you will need to speak with the router manufacturer.

1) What’s DHCP?

DHCP is a type of internet networking approach. It stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. It means that a router assigns IP addresses to each of the devices on the network, allowing them to communicate with other devices in or outside the network.

In context of our systems, the setting related to DHCP is called DHCP server status. This setting enables your router to obtain the static IP address on the DVR and broadcast that IP to the app so it can locate your DVR. This setting needs to be enabled on a router for the apps to be able to connect to the DVR systems.

Once you’ve logged into the router settings, you’ll want to select “configuration” at the top, and then “Connection > Local Network” in the menu on the left. You should see this page:

You’ll want to ensure the checkbox beside “DHCP server” is checked off, and set the start IP address to 100 as shown in the image. Leaving the other settings here as they default should be fine. Once this is done, select “save.” Before proceeding with the next steps, try using the app while not connected to local WiFi. If you can see the live feeds, you don’t need to complete the steps below.

How to add your cameras using the V5 GUI…​

Step 1:​

Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your NVR in the address bar. If you are not sure what this is, use the SADP tool to find it.​

Step 2:​

Log in to the NVR using the “admin” username and password you have set on it.​

Go to: Device Access > Device Configuration > PoE Settings​

If you are connecting your camera via the Plug-and-Play method, then make sure that Network Camera Plug-and-Play is enabled on the POE port you will be connecting the camera to on this page.​

For any camera with a cable run under 100m, leave the Network Cable Distance as Short Distance.​

If you are connecting your camera manually by IP address, disable the Network Camera Plug-and-Play option for the channel that you plan to add the camera to.​

Step 4:​

Go to: Device Access > Device > Video Device​

For any Plug-and-Play camera, just make sure that it is in its inactive default state and then connect it to the port you reserved in step 3. After 20 seconds or so, the camera Status should turn to Connecting and then Online (you may need to click on Refresh to see this).​

For Manually added cameras, if you can see the camera in the List of Online Devices section, then just tick the box for the camera and then click + Add to Device List, which will then automatically add it to one of the channels you disabled Plug-and-Play on in the last step.​

IP Address: Enter the IP address of your camera, using the ‘Test’ button to verify there is a camera at that address. ​

Device Name: This can be anything you like, as it is the name the camera will show with on your NVR. ​

Protocol: Select the camera’s manufacturer from this list, or failing that, use the ONVIF protocol (your camera will need to have ONVIF enabled for this to work). ​

Management Port: Enter the Server port set on the camera, which you can find in the SADP tool or in Network>Basic Settings>Port in the camera’s web browser interface. If you haven’t changed this, it is usually 8000 by default. ​

User Name: “admin” or the username of any other users set up on that camera. ​

Password: The password set with that user on the camera – if this is the same as the ‘Default Activation Password‘ you have set on the NVR, then you can tick this box instead. ​

Transfer Protocol: ‘Auto’ is normally best. ​

When these are completed, click OK.​

There are several ways to test if your camera IP can be reached, one of the most used is the “ping” command:

Unfortunately, the ping command has its limitations and wont be able to verify if the ports of the pinged IP are open (ping commands are sent using random ports). In order to check the port connectivity you can use the “Test-NetConnection” command in power shell which can test connectivity to a specific IP and port. To do so please follow the next steps:

4. Find the camera channel you want audio to be disable, click on E Internet Explorer icon.

5. It will take you to the login page of Dahua IP Camera. Login with Camera credential.

6. Go to Settings > Camera > Audio. By default the Audio settings is enabled.

No Audio from Live Feed

There are following possibilities:

1. Make sure your audio on the computer or television is enabled and working by playing music or watching a video with audio online. You should see this audio meter change when playing music or video on the computer/television.

2. Once you have confirmed your audio is working on your speaker, and if you still can’t hear from your Live Feed, check your connections. If you are using an external microphone that plugs into the camera, please make sure you are supplying power to since the camera does not. See picture below:

3. If your connections and power are in order but you still cannot get audio from your live feed, log into your IP Camera or NVR and change the following settings.

4. If you are accessing your audio feed from a computer also make sure you have the speaker symbol enabled to enable audio from the Live Feed.

1. Make Sure your camera with a microphone is working via live stream, please follow the NoAudio guide for details.

After ensuring you are receiving an audio feed, log onto your NVR and make sure your encoding setup is correct (Setup>Image>Encode>) and make sure your are on the right channel where the camera has a working microphone. Now make sure audio is enabled for either or both the Main Stream and Sub Stream (whichever you are recording on)

3. Also make sure your camera is scheduled to record during specified operation.

Smart Life and Tuya APP

The camera can be connected to either the Smart Life or Tuya smart app, both of which have the same function, so just choose the app you use regularly.

How To Connect Smart Life or Tuya Camera?

There are 2 ways to add a Smart Life and Tuya camera, we recommend using ‘OR Code’ to add a camera.

Before adding the Smart Life and Tuya camera, please connect the camera to the power supply, if it is a battery camera you will need to turn on the power switch.

Once the camera has been powered up wait for the camera to start up (about 20 seconds) and then you can start connecting the camera.

OR Code connect camera

We recommend using OR Code to connect Smart Life and Tuya cameras.

1. Click on the ‘+’ icon, select ‘Camera & Lock’ and Smart Camera (Wi-Fi)

2. Click Make sure the indicator is flashing quickly or a prompt tone is heard, then click Next

3. Enter your wifi password, then click Next.

4. Hold the mobile phone screen in the front of the camera, the distance between the two should be 15 to 20 cm, Try not to shake the mobile phone during the scanning. when you hear ‘Connect Router’, click “I Heard a Prompt”, and wait for connecting.

Note

If it is a mini battery camera, there is only an indicator light, no voice prompt. Please check your operating instructions for the indicator light.

5. wait for the camera to connect to wifi ( approx. 30 seconds)

Wi-Fi Mode connect camera

Not all Smart Life and Tuya cameras support Wi-Fi Mode connectivity, please contact your camera’s seller for details.

1. Click on the top right corner to switch to Wi-Fi Mode, then click on the Next step.

1. Ensure that the lens is not blocked. If the camera lens has a protective film, remove it before you scan the QR code.
2. Place the app QR code in front of the camera at a distance of15 cm to 20 cm.Adjust the angle and distance until you hear a prompt.
3. If it is a battery camera, please check the status of the indicator
4. Reset the camera, resetting the camera will restore the camera to factory settings.
5. Try to connect to the camera using Wi-Fi Mode

Why can’t the Smart Life and Tuya camera connect to wifi?

How can I get Smart Life and Tuya camera connected to another Wi-Fi?

If the current Wi-Fi of the camera and Wi-Fi you would like to switch can be connected at the same time, you can switch the Wi-Fi directly by selecting Wi-Fi Network in the interface of Setting.

If the camera is disconnected to the current Wi-Fi, the App will say “Device disconnected”. You can reset the camera and reconnect it.

Why can’t I connect to the Smart Life and Tuya camera?

If you can’t connect to the camera, usually due to a wifi problem, you can try resetting the camera and reconnecting it. It is recommended to connect next to the router.

Share Camera

You can share your Smart Life or Tuya camera with your family or friends to use the camera for multiple people.

The other party needs a Smart Life or Tuya account to use the camera, and can only share the same app.

1. Click on the icon in the top right corner to enter the settings screen, select Share Device, click on Add Sharing.

2. You can enter the shared account number or copy the link to your friend or family member, who can then use the camera.

Recording setting

You need to insert the memory card to see the recording settings.

Click on Recording settings, open Local Recording.
By default, the camera is in Non-Stop recording mode, you can change the Recording Mode.

View recording video

In the live video screen of the camera, click on Playback to view the video on the memory card, the coloured time indicates the recorded video.

Click on the ‘‘date icon, you can select the recording date. By default the sound is turned off, click on the ‘‘ in the top right corner to turn on the video sound.

Save recording video to your phone

Click on the record icon, you can save the video to your phone.

Detection Alarm Setting

Click on Detection Alarm Settings, turn on Motion Detection Alarm and the app will send a notification to your mobile phone when the camera detects a moving object.

If there are frequent false alarms, you can adjust the detection sensitivity and turn on Human Body Filtering to reduce false alarms.

Detection area

If you don’t want to detect the whole frame, you can select a specific area,Drag/Resize the red frame to set an detect area.

Siren Sound

When the camera detects motion or sound, the camera will make a Siren sound.
You can turn on Trigger Siren in Detection Alarm Settings, and adjust the sound timing and volume in Siren Adjustment.

Motion Tracking Setting

Motion Tracking can follow objects automatically. You can turn on Motion Tracking in the Detection Alarm Settings.

Basic Function Settings

In Basic Function Settings, you can switch on and off the camera’s Status Indicator, Flip Screen, Time Watermark and Talk Mode.

Voice Intercom Settings

The Smart Life or Tuya camera has two voice modes, speech may be affected by the environment. We recommend that you select one-way or two-way speech according to the actual situation.

Controlling camera movement

You can swipe the video screen to control the camera movement, or click the Direction control button

Quickly move the camera

In the Site screen, click on Site added succe… Save the camera’s current location, so that you can move the camera to the saved location quickly by clicking on the picture.

if your TV is a smart TV and you can search for the app you are using in the TV’s App Store, you can download and use this app to stream your camera video to the TV;
If the app you are using cannot be searched in the TV’s App Store, it means that this function is not supported at the moment.

How to turn on the camera motion detection function and adjust the sensitivity?

If motion detection is often delayed and unable to capture moving objects, it means that the network in your home is poor or the connection delay with the cloud server is high.

Does the Smart Life or Tuya camera support NVR or DVR function?

How to connect a LaView Saturn Series IP Camera to a Non-Saturn Series NVR

5a. If you are connecting the camera to the NVR PoE port, set up the Target IP to 192.168.254.xxx (xxx being a random number from 2-254), and Gateway to  192.168.254.1, Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0. Then unplug the camera from the PoE switch or Router and connect it to the NVR using Cat5e cable.

5b. If you are connecting the camera via LAN, use DHCP or set up the IP address to your network range. For example: Target IP 192.168.0.217, Subnet 255.255.255.0, Gateway 192.168.0.1

6. Go the NVR Menu => Camera => Camera.

7. Click on the channel which the camera is connected to (ie if the camera is connected to port 3 on the back of the NVR, click on channel 3). If you are connecting the camera via LAN, Click on any unused channel.

8. Change ‘Plug and Play’ to ‘Manual’ and enter the camera IP address (192.168.254.xxx or 192.168.0.217 as in previous example)

9. Change protocol to ONVIF and Management port is 80

10. Enter user name and password you set up when you activated the camera in step 3.

What should I do if I connect a LaView Saturn Camera to LV-N96, LV-N95, LV-N98 series NVR but only get 720P maximum resolution in main stream?

If you only get 720p in mainstream, it means the IP camera is set to H.265. Please use the following instruction to switch the camera to H.264 compression.

The system worked seamlessly until last week when it suddenly shut off and now won’t come back on

Would suggestion you follow the instruction below for troubleshooting,

1.Please ensure the cameras are connected, would suggest you to connect them directly to the PoE ports at the back of the system.

2.At the day time, try to cover the camera lens with your hands to see if there is a IR red light on the problematic cameras. And please also check if the camera goes hot when it is connected.

3.The camera appears not to get powe if there is no light and heat. We will need to check if it is the camera/port/cable issue.

1.At first, please switch the problematic camera to the workable PoE ports to test. You can also go to your PoE Configuration setting to check the power.

2.If it still doesn’t work with another port, please exchange the cable to check again. If possible, you can also add the camera to another system to confirm the problem.

NVR is showing offline on Platform Access menu

In this case, please check the connection between the router and the NVR. Unplug and plug the ethernet cable to make sure the connection is solid. 

Then go to the NVR system, enable ‘DHCP’, “Obtain DNS Server Address” and ‘Platform Access’, disable  ‘DDNS’ and check if the status of the NVR changes from “Offline” to “Online”. Please see the pictures attached as a reference.

If it doesn’t work, please try to reboot the system to see if the issue can be resolved.

How to add Wi-Fi Cam (One PT ) to your NVR

1. Make sure One PT camera and the NVR are well connected to the same LAN. 

2. Enter the camera management menu of NVR, select an unoccupied channel, and click the “Edit” icon to add the camera manually.

3. Make sure the adding method is manual, select the ONVIF protocol, enter the correct IPv4 Address and password of the camera. 

 (Please click the link below, download the IP Portal software to your PC/laptop. Then open it to locate the IP Address and the management port of your camera.)

Please find a 12V power adapter to power up your camera. And directly connect this camera to the router with an Ethernet cable if you need to reset the password via XML files.

Please power on the device (NVR/DVR/cameras) and connect it to the router via an ethernet cable first.

Then find the attachment and follow the instructions to export the XML file and send it to us. We will help to generate a key file and send it back to you to reset the password.

Kindly pay attention to the following when you export the file.

You may follow the steps below to enable the DDNS feature,

1.Log in to http://laviewddns.com/ and set up an account

2.In the NVR interface, enter the correct account and setting in DDNS menu

3.In the router menu, assign Port 80, Port 8000 and Port 8554 to the IP address of the system

4.Go to www.canyouseeme.org to ensure the ports are opened

Set up PC viewing by PT Cloud

If you need to remotely view your system when you are not under the same Wi-Fi, please try to follow the steps below to set up the P2P connection.

Before adding your system to the PC software, please make sure your system is connected to the router(network) and is showing ‘Online’ status. Please go to your system menu -> Configuration -> Network -> PT Cloud/Platform Access to double-check your system’s online status.

Here I will take my NVMS V3 as an example.

1. Go to NVMS V3, go to ‘Maintenance and Management.

2. Click ‘Add’ here.

3. Choose ‘PT COULD’ here.

4. Log in to the LaView Connect app. Go to the ‘More’-> ‘Account Management’. Note down the ‘Username'(which belongs to your LaView P2P account) and ‘Country/Region’ information.

5. Get back the Client Software.

6. After logging in to the PT cloud account, please tap ‘Online’ and search for and choose the online device you would like to add.

7. Input the verification code set in ‘Platform Access’ in NVR and tap the “Add” icon.

8. Then you are good to go now.

9. Go to ‘Main View’ on the Client Software, you are also required to input the same verification code to watch the cameras. Please input the one as #7.

In the example, NVMS V3 will automatically detect the online device so we are adding the device with its IP address. In this way, the system and the computer will be requested to connect to the same local network so that the software can auto-detect the online system.

2. Please go to ‘Online device’ and your system will be found automatically.

3. Please choose your system from the online device and click on ‘Add’.

Will need to confirm the resolution of the camera first. Kindly note that the resolution of the monitor should be higher than the camera’s. Otherwise, the monitor will go black. Please get in touch with our LaView Support Team and provide the model number of your camera as well as your system if you do not know the system resolution.

If the monitor and system work fine before but quit working suddenly, please change the HDMI/VGA cable to check this issue.

If you have another monitor, please also exchange it to see if it can work. If necessary, you can also try to access your system on your computer to double-check.

I tried to change the name of my camera, but I’m getting “Camera Does not support this function”.

It is possible that there are no cameras connected to that specific channel or the camera has lost connectivity. If you are using a third-party camera it is possible the ONVIF protocol supported by camera is outdated which does not support OSD configuration.

Is it possible to connect a third-party camera to a LaView NVR, or a LaView Camera to a third-party NVR?

Yes, if the third-party devices support the ONVIF protocol and you are using the correct setup for the specific camera.

I’m having issues connecting my NVR to my phone

Possible Fixes:

1.Please go to Menu-Configuration-Network and under the General tab make sure enable DHCP is selected, if it is not enabled then select enable and apply. If you had to enable it, restart the NVR and try the P2P setup again.

2.If you are still having issues, make sure DDNS is NOT enabled(unchecked). If DDNS is checked, uncheck it and apply then go back to Platform Access and disable P2P and apply. Once both are disabled, do a power cycle and reboot the unit. After the unit restarts enable P2P again, and do another power cycle.

3.Go to Extranet Access, Platform Access or DDNS and make sure LaView P2P is selected then apply, also make sure “Enable Stream Encryption” is disabled.

4. If none of these work, then it could be a network issue. Try to restart your modem/router by unplugging it for about 45 seconds. Plug it back in and restart the NVR, then try to reconnect your system to the P2P account.

How Do I find my system’s IP address?

To find your system’s IP address go to Main Menu>Maintenance>System Info>Network. The IPv4 Address at the top is your local IP. If your IP address is 0.0.0.0 or 192.0.0.64, this means your system is offline. There are a few causes from this, but usually, it’s a bad ethernet cable or the cable is not plugged in properly to either the DVR or Router. If those are checked to be correct, try restarting your router by unplugging it for a minute and restarting the DVR.

Part 1: How do I install a Hard Drive in a Hikvision NVR?

Any setup with an NVR will need a hard drive to function as it is what all your footage is saved to. The WD Purple Drive is our go-to recommendation for the vast majority of IP setups as it designed with the high workload requirements of 24/7 surveillance solutions in mind. Please see the guide on picking the right HDD to better understand your storage needs and why we don’t recommend using HDD’s that aren’t optimised for use in a CCTV system.

Step 1:

Firstly, you’ll need to locate and remove the screws that secure the NVR’s casing to the base so that you can access the inside of it. Typically, you’ll find two of these screws on the back of the unit and, depending on the NVR model, more on the sides – Do not lose these screws!​

Once inside, your NVR will look something like this. The parts in here you’ll need to identify are the:​

Get your hard drive and NVR connected – You can screw the drive into its bay in NVR first if you wish, but it’s normally easier to wire everything up first. Plug one end of the SATA interface cable into the HDD and the other into the corresponding port on the motherboard, then do the same with the SATA power cable. If the power cable has come already connected to the motherboard, then just plug the other end into the HDD’s SATA power port.​

Step 4:

You now just need to screw the HDD into the bottom of the NVR via the screw holes located in the HDD and corresponding holes in the HDD bay (insert the screws from underneath the NVR into the HDD inside – it can be a bit fiddly).​

Step 5:

Finally, screw the NVR’s casing back onto the base. Your HDD is now installed and ready to be formatted during the initial NVR setup, which is explained in Part 2.​

Part 2: How do I complete the basic setup of my Hikvision NVR?

You now need to configure the NVR so that it’s ready to connect to your network. Don’t worry – this is simpler than it sounds. This initial setup is simplest when done on the local GUI, using a directly connected monitor. The following steps walk you through this initial setup process:

Note – Avoid plugging anything into the back of the NVR until instructed to do so in this tutorial.

Firstly, you’ll need to look at the back of your NVR and make sure you can identify the following parts that are needed for this stage:

[1] – PoE (Power over Ethernet) ports (Most Hikvision NVRs have PoE ports which will power any camera via the network cable. Those that do not will require you to connect the camera across remotely, using a separate PoE injector or switch for power.)

[2] – VGA display port
​

[3] – HDMI display port
​

[4] – USB port(s) (and mouse – one should come included with the NVR)
​

[5] – LAN port (and ethernet cable – Cat5e or Cat6 is fine)
​

[6] – Kettle power socket (the power lead is included with the NVR)​

Now, follow these steps. It is easier if you leave your cameras disconnected until prompted later in this guide:

Plug the kettle plug into the power inlet to connect the NVR to a power supply.​

Connect your NVR to a display (this can be any monitor or television) by connecting either an HDMI or VGA cable from the monitor to the corresponding port in the back of the NVR.​

Plug your USB mouse into one of the NVR’s USB ports.​

Use an ethernet cable to connect your NVR to your local network – Plug one end of the cable into the RJ45 ports into a network access point (such as an ethernet port on your router), and the other into the LAN port in the back of your NVR.​

Step 5:

Turn the NVR on and let it boot up. Ignore the beeping noise, it’s completely normal and just the NVR telling you that it isn’t properly configured yet.​

​

You may get a prompt to adjust the NVR’s resolution to match the connected display, click “yes” to view everything in the best resolution supported by your display.​

​

Step 6:

Set your language when prompted.​

​

​

Step 7:

Set a password for the NVR , as well as a “Channel Default Password”, which will be passed onto any inactive device that is directly connected to the NVR’s PoE ports. We recommend keeping these passwords the same for simplicity’s sake. It’s key that you set a password that the NVR defines as strong and that you remember this password, as resetting the passwords on Hikvision devices can be a hassle that you want to avoid, if possible.​

Step 8:

Now set a valid “reserved email” address for the NVR, which Hikvision will use for verification if you need to reset your password.​

Next, set an unlock pattern of your choice by using your mouse to draw any shape you like – you will be asked to do this twice to confirm the pattern. This will be used to quickly login to your NVR in the local GUI.​

Step 10:

Now, set your time zone, your preferred date format, and date/time.​

​

On the Network Setup page:​

Leave the “NIC Type” as it is.​

​

Either leave the “Enable Obtain DNS Server” box ticked, or untick it and use one these recommended public DNS servers.​

​

It is best to leave the “Enable DHCP” box unticked here. Instead, set the “IPv4 Address” of the NVR to an unused IP address on your network, which is within your gateway’s range. Your Gateway will typically be the IP address of your router. E.g. if your router’s IP address is “192.168.1.1”, you’ll want to give the NVR an IP address within the range of “192.168.1.x”, where “x” is any unused address between “2” and “254”.​

Note – DHCP can be left on during this stage of the setup to automatically assign your NVR an open IP address if you like, just be sure to turn it off again once your system up and running. To disable it again once set up, just go to: ​

System/Configuration→ Network → TCP/IP → DHCP Off → Apply​

​

Input the Subnet Mask of your network (typically it’s “255.255.255.0”) and “IPv4 Default Gateway”. If you’re unsure of these, see the below articles which explain how to check what they are and if a particular IP address is available:​

The “Internal NIC IPv4 Address” can be left as it is, this just refers to the NVR’s own LAN address (so Plug and Play cameras will use IP addresses on this range).​

Step 12:

You can now stop the annoying bleeping! Select your hard drive(s) from the list and click “Init” to format it, and then “Next” when the formatting has completed.​

​

Note – This will completely wipe the drive, so please make sure that any that are being reused to not have data that you might need on them. ​

Step 13:

​

The next page is for the Camera Setup. As mentioned earlier, we recommend connecting any cameras after the NVR setup process has completed, so you can skip this page.​

Note – Please see part 4 for the instructions for adding cameras to your NVR after the initial setup. ​

You will now be taken to the platform access page. Again, skip through and leave this for now.​

That’s the initial setup of your NVR complete. You should now be taken to the NVR’s live view page (you won’t see your cameras until these are connected in Part 4), with your main navigation menu at the top of the screen.​

Sunba IP Camera Recording Option

Note an IP camera can work standalone without a NVR, which is different from a traditional analog system where Digital Video Recorder is a must-have.

In terms of recording, there are few options you can select from:

A. Record to a computer. This requires you to have a dedicated computer that is on for 24/7. This means if you shut down your PC/Mac, then the recording will stop as well.

B. Record to a TF card. Most Sunba IP cameras would have a built-in TF card slot that support up to 128GB micro SD card. 405-D20X can have the TF card pre-installed before shipment if you order from our website. 406-D20X, 305-D4X 405-ECO don’t have any built-in TF card slot (as of 12/31/2019). 405-ECO and 305-D4X would support micro SD card in the future. Please refer to the product detail page for the latest specification.

The limit for the TF card is 128 GB, Class 10 (Kingston recommended), so it is great for recording small motion detection clips instead of recording 24/7. This is also a good alternative/back-up for videos recorded on PC or elsewhere.

C. Record to a NVR. NVR is a dedicated recording storage device for IP cameras and it also has the benefit of viewing multiple different cameras together. In China and most East Asian countries, NVR is used very common. In USA and western countries, Blue Iris and other software + PC combo is used as an alternative to NVR. If you use Sunba IP camera with NVR from another manufacturer that is also ONVIF compliant, then basic functions such as PTZ, recording shall work but there is no guarantee that presets, motion detection will also work perfectly.

D. Record to a NAS. Your NAS must either support ONVIF or support Sunba private protocol. You will have to add our camera in the specific NAS’s interface instead of in Sunba camera’s interface.

Steps to add Sunba IP cameras to Hikvision PoE NVR

For Sunba Illuminati, it should be plug and play with Hikvision PoE NVR. Just make sure the NVR supports 802.3at and has sufficient power budget (at least 30W left) for the camera.

For Sunba 601-D20X, 601-D25X, 405-D20X, 405-ECO, 406-D20X, FT-HD and 305-D4X. Please see the instruction below.

The following instruction is made based on Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2, but should be applicable to all Hikvision PoE NVR.

The following tutorial assumes that you are using the back switch of the NVR to power the camera.

You need to first ensure that the PoE NVR is 802.3at (instead of 802.3af) with 25W as the maximum power output per port otherwise the NVR cannot supply enough power to the camera.

You can google to check the NVR Spec and if you are not sure, please contact Sunba support with the NVR model to double check.

Step 1. Check the PoE Gateway of your Hikvision NVR 

Usually the PoE NIC gateway of Hikvision PoE NVR is 192.168.254.1.

Step 2. Modify Sunba IP camera network information. 

Connect the camera to a generic PoE switch, to PC or to router to modify the camera’s network info first.

Go to Device Config-Network of the camera in IE/VMS, or use the Device Manger tool to modify the camera IP to match Hikvision POE NIC.

In the picture above, we modify the IP of the camera to be 192.168.254.XXX and the gateway to be 192.168.254.1 (that matches the PoE gateway of the Hikvision NVR).

Under Device Config-ENCODE, please select H.264 instead of H.265 as H.265 is only supported by Sunba Private Protocol.

Step 3. Connect the camera to Hikvision PoE NVR. 

Wait for the camera to finish the self-diagnostic rotates upon receiving power from the NVR. This can usually take 1-2 minutes.

Step 4. Go to Camera Management of the NVR Interface. 

Select and modify the channel that the camera is connected to, and input the corresponding info of the camera that you just input.

Step 5. Click OK and wait for the camera to connect, which takes usually a minute. 

You can also refresh the page. The camera is now online.

Step 6. Live view and set up preferred recording plan. 

Contact support@sunba.net if you still have trouble connecting to Hikvision PoE NVR or if you would want to connect to Hikvision PoE when powered using DC12V adapter.

Sunba Illuminati NetHDD Requirement

To record videos of Sunba Illuminati to NAS (NetHDD), there are a few prerequisites:

1.The NAS must be able to set individual volume to the camera. You cannot set an individual shared folder for the camera, and set as the storage path as the NetHDD would not successfully initialize/formatted (it will revert back to uninitialized status). The NAS must have the ability to create multiple volumes. In short, you need to create a separate partition on the Net Disk for the camera.

2.Each camera should use an exclusive volume. Two cameras cannot share the same volume.

Sunba Illuminati YouTube RTMP Connection Issues [Warp-up]

The following troubleshooting is based on the assumption that all network-related devices are connected well and functioning properly, and the camera lens module is not defective.

a) YouTube stream would disconnect after a while.

We’ve also encountered another case that the YouTube stream is dropping off every 10s. This turns out to be an IP conflict. It is recommended to switch to another Static LAN IP address.

b) There is no “stream selection option” under the RTMP url configuration page.  

Please clear browser cache/browsing history, power cycle the unit and re-load the page.

c) Cannot connect to YouTube stream at all. 

Please try each of the following measures:

1. Check whether the P2P status is offline. Normally it should be “online”. If it shows offline, then this means the camera cannot communicate with the Internet. You will have to try setting the camera from static IP to DHCP to see if it resolves the issue. Or you could try setting the DNS of the camera to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

2. Set the DNS of the camera to

Google DNS:

8.8.8.8

8.8.4.4

Or use the router’s DNS as primary DNS, and use 8.8.8.8 as secondary DNS.

3. Try lowering the camera bitrate and FPS. Make sure the to use constant bitrate and the bitrate shall usually not exceed 4000 Kbps otherwise the upload bandwidth consumption will be extremely high, preventing the camera from communicating with YouTube server.

Disclaimer: If you have multiple cameras that you are attempting to stream at the same time under the same LAN network, it is critical to have sufficient upload bandwidth for your network otherwise the stream might stuck, drop frames or lose connections. 

Sunba IP Network Camera: Underpower Issue

Typical Symptoms 

A. Camera reboots repetitively during night time with the following cycle:

low light environment detected -> infrared on -> not enough power -> reboot -> low light environment detected -> infrared on -> not enough power -> reboot …… (cycling)

B. Camera panning by itself without gaining control over PTZ.

 

Why will this happen? 

A. PoE Camera

Wrong PoE+ Injector: The PoE injector/switch must be able to deliver at least 30W for an individual port! Must be 802.3at standard but NOT 802.3af, which is for bullet camera and can only deliver 15.4W.

Long Distance of Travel: PoE will also drop power along the Ethernet cable. If you are using a 300 ft long Ethernet cable, you may be at risk. Please try using the Ethernet cable less than 200 ft. The maximum travel distance also depends on the quality of the cable but generally it should not exceed 200 ft for the 30W power. If you increase the distance, the corresponding watts of the injector should increase as well to 48W or 60W.

 

B. Non-PoE Camera:

Long Distance of Travel with thin AWG power extension cord.

For over 50 ft of travel distance, please try using the AWG 18 standard or thicker (the smaller the AWG, the thicker the wire).

A quick test to perform is to plug the camera directly to the wall power (for power adapter) without any forms of extension.

Tips for optimizing the auto tracking performance

Before mounting the Illuminati camera outside, there are few installation tips to consider to optimize the tracking performance.

The accuracy rate of auto tracking is great involved with installation location, ambient light (such as backlight) and so on. In order to ensure the better effect, Sunba proposes some installation and setup suggestions as follows:

1.Ratio of detection object size to image size

To recognize small moving objects, you will need to turn up the tracking sensitivity. However, this would usually result in false trigger of other equivalently smaller moving objects.

We recommend adjusting the zoom level of the camera to ensure the moving object is at least 180 x 180 pixel for a 2MP 1080p camera.

2.Light (no backlight)

With backlight, it is extremely difficult to recognize moving object from the overall scene because of the overall shaded videos.

3. Draw virtual lines/polygons only on static background

It is recommended not to draw virtual lines/polygons on dynamic objects such as trees/shrubs which will move along with strong wind and thus might trigger false alarms.

What is port forwarding?

Configuring port forwarding for your IP camera enables you to access your locally connected camera on the secure side of the router (via LAN) anywhere with internet at a different location (VIA WAN) through PC/Mac or Smartphone. It basically just forwards all traffic of your private camera to a public network.

Port forwarding must be supported by your router, and configured in your router’s interface. Therefore, for specific steps of port forwarding, please refer to the manual of your router or contact the manufacturer of your router for help (user interface extremely router specific). There are many different resources on YouTube that we find helpful. And you may also explore this webpage where it has the port forward interfaces for most routers: http://portforward.com/

Though different routers have different ways of setting up the port forwarding, generally you need to 1) log in the config page of the router and 2) find the port forwarding option within the config page 3) add and configure the camera’s relevant ports to be forwarded.

The picture below has forwarded the http, ONVIF, media and rtsp ports of the camera but in reality only http and media (tcp) are required ports.

To port forward most Sunba cameras, you’ll at least need to know:

• The camera’s local IP address;
• HTTP Port of the camera;
• TCP Port of the camera (also called media port).

Note: To access your IP camera in certain software or mobile app (such as iVMS or IP Cam Viewer), RTSP port may need to be forwarded as well.

After port forwarding, you will get a dynamic WAN IP of the camera where you can use to access the camera remotely anywhere.

Use canyouseeme.org to check your WAN IP and whether the ports are forwarded successfully (or “open”).

Go to Internet Explorer and type in WAN IP: HTTP port as the address to remotely log in the camera for a quick test.

Finally, please remember that the WAN IP changes constantly (normally after 24 hours) so it may be good for you to use free DDNS service such as NO-IP.com to have a fixed domain name, which can be memorized easily.

Other Dynamic DNS service provider:  DynDNS.org and TZO.com

Please first register an account at the DDNS service provider’s site. And you will get an unchanged name for your home WAN IP: such as myname.dyndns.org  

This fixed domain will be representing your home WAN IP!

Then you can login to your router again, go to DDNS option built-in your router and enter your DDNS service provider information to make sure your router recognizes them.

What is the RTSP stream URL for Sunba IP cameras?

The fundamental format of Sunba RTSP url is below:

For SUNBA Lite Series camera:

rtsp://IP:554/user={put your username here}&password={put your password here}&channel=1&stream=0.sdp?real_stream

For example with the default network setting (RTSP port 554), username and password, the camera’s RTPS url would be as follows：

rtsp://192.168.1.10:554/user=admin&password=&channel=1&stream=0.sdp?real_stream

 

For SUNBA Performance Series camera:

rtsp://{username}:{password}@{ip}:{port}/media/video1/2/3
Corresponding to main stream/sub stream/three stream respectively;

For example:
rtsp://admin:123456@192.168.1.8:554/media/video1, it means the main stream;
rtsp://admin:123456@192.168.1.8:554/media/video2, indicating sub-stream;
rtsp://admin:123456@192.168.1.8:554/media/video3, which means third stream;

For SUNBA Illuminati, please use the following url:

Below is an example of an IP camera with H.264, an IP of 192.168.1.10 and the default username and password.

where 554 is the default RTSP port h264 is the encoding format, and can be replaced by h265 or mpeg4

What screws do I have to use for installing the camera?

Fundamental Standard: 

601-D20X/805-D20XB (wall bracket/Ceiling Mount) – M6

405 Series Wall Mount – M4

405 Series ceiling Mount – M6

We do not offer bolt with the camera as there are too many types available and the application is very critical and depends on where/how you would like to install the camera.

For example, many people are using the camera with their pole or corner mount that has smaller hole size as compared to the camera’s mount bracket. So you will probably need one size smaller.

Also, if you are installing the camera on wood board, you generally will choose self-tapping screws for safety concerns.

Similarly, if you are installing the camera on concrete, it is recommended to use concrete expansion bolt (or expansion anchor).

Brick walls are also different. These are the variables we are unable to control by the time of shipment.

If you need any help in selecting appropriate bolts for your specific application, we would be more than happy to offer our advice.

Why only half 1/2 of the IR LEDs are on? Is my camera defective?

The short answer is, the camera isn’t defective and what you see is normal. And below is why:

Sunba IR lights work in a same way as vehicle lights; you only need low beam to view nearby objects, when your camera isn’t zoomed in.

Thus, if your IR is in “AUTO” mode (this should be the default you are in), when you focus at near objects, the IR lights are half on. And when you “zoom in” and look at distant objects, the other half IR lights will be on as the high beam. Meanwhile, the low beam side will be OFF to avoid any extra light interference. In other words, you can change the focal length to adjust the IR lights.

Alternatively, you can manually control IR lights using the “presets call” method. For example, using “103+call” as a special presets code (just enter 103 in the preset box and hit either “enter” or “go to” or “call” depending on the software you use), you can turn on BOTH sides of the IR lights.

However, both sides of IR may not necessarily increase the visibility at night due to light interference. That’s why auto high beam and low beam are designed to be separate.

Another thing you can do is to change the photo sensitivity of the camera by going to the menu (95+CALL). This is a threshold that you can control. You probably want to adjust it to make it less sensitive to the streetlight (more easier to be switched to night mode under “IR Auto”),or the other way around, depending on the installation environment.

Does Sunba produce WiFi camera?

The answer is, not yet. And we currently don’t plant to develop a wireless outdoor camera due to concerns primarily over connectivity and user experiences. Chances remain that we will develop wireless models for indoor cameras as well as low-zoom in mini PTZ.

IP Cameras, compared to analog cameras, may have lags in image transmission as they are very dependent on the local network. In case of wireless, problems such as stability and connectivity may happen, especially for high zoom IP cameras. Wireless plans should work better for smaller and fixed lens cameras.

PoE is usually considered a great alternative for wireless cameras because for wireless cameras, you still have to run a power cable  (one cable solution). For PoE cameras, it is the same one cable solution but instead of the power cable, you need to use ethernet cable.

If there isn’t any forms of running a network cable, you can consider using wireless bridge to connect the camera.
In short, as you said, you can use a client wireless AP to connect to your root wireless AP:

How to get Synology NAS to record Sunba Illuminati IP camera?

There are two methods:

1.Using Synology’s built-in surveillance station.

Note in this way, you could have Synology record all-day, by schedule, or by motion detection.

With motion detection, you can have Synology to record using the camera’s own algorithm or using Synology’s algorithm.

Below is the fundamental setup:

Make sure the camera is set to H.264 and the username and password you entered is the camera’s ONVIF username/password, which is set at Network-Advanced Settings-Integration Protocol.

2. Recording as NetHDD

Please enable the NFS protocol for your NAS.

Then please go to Shared Folder to create a folder dedicated for recording and setup the name and location. It is NOT recommended to set the entire NAS as the recording destination.

Add encryption to the shared folder.

Confirm to apply the setting for the new shared folder.

Edit user permission for the shared folder.

Now we can go to the camera’s UI.

Under Configuration-Storage-Storage Management, please go to Net HDD and add the IP address of the NAS and the corresponding file path for the “shared folder” you set above. Make sure the mounting type is SMB/CIFS. Then enter the username/password for the NAS. Click “test”.

If the test succeeds, you will see the NAS drive under “HDD Management” as “uninitialized”. This means you will have to format the space.

We select and format the drive.

How to record to videos to TF card for Sunba Illuminati cameras?

1.Make sure the TF card is recognized by the camera and in “normal” status. If it shows error, please format to initialize the card.

2. If you want to enable motion detection recording (including line cross, intrusion and regular motion detection), please go to Events-Basic Events and enable motion detection.

PS: For motion detection, it is suggested to go to “EXPERT MODE” under the dropdown list next to Configuration to modify the parameter in order to define the minimum percentage of detection objects. This is to avoid false motion alarms on flies or tree movements. The percentage setting only applies for regular motion detection.

And then under Linkage Method, please select “trigger recording”.

Similarly, if you want to record intrusion tracking or line cross tracking, go to Smart Events, under Linkage Method, please select “trigger recording” as well.

3. Go to Storage Schedule, and select the recording type.

For regular motion recording, please select motion and click “advanced” to specify the recording length.

Again this will record all motion events including regular motion detection, and anything triggered under the current tracking mode (line cross/intrusion detection).

If you want to exclusively record just the line cross tracking or intrusion tracking, please select Events and double click the purple time bar to specify the type of Events that you want to record.

Don’t forget to click “Save” to take effect.

4. If you go to Playback section, select a date and click “Search” you will find a series of pink/red bar indicating recorded events.

How to reset password for your Sunba Illuminati camera?

Method A. Safety Questions

This is the easiest way and can be done in both SADP (choose security questions in “Mode”) or Web UI.

There are 3 pre-loaded answers (sunba) to the following 3 questions.

Method B. Safety Email

Before You Start:
1) You should have set up a reserved email account already.
2) You are on the same network as the camera.

Enter the camera web interface (you can use ANY browser even if it doesn’t support live view), and click “Forgot password”.

Select Email Verification as the Verification Mode, and export the QR code.

Save the QR code and send it to
pw_recovery@device-service.com as an attachment (PNG format).

Note:
1) You can use either your reserved email or any email to send this QR code. Only the reserved email will receive a valid verification code within 5 mins.

2) The verification code is only valid for 24 hours.

3) The QR code changes when you change the reserved email address.

Method C. XML Verification File

If you don’t have upfront security questions set, you can send security verification files to Sunba support team.

Go to SADP tool, and search the camera.

Note: If the SADP IPV4 search doesn’t identify online device, make sure the camera is connected to the main router (instead of any secondary router/switch) and is on the same network with your computer. You can also try directly connecting the camera to the computer with Ethernet.

Select the device and click “Forgot Password”.

Select “Export/Import Secret Key Mode” and click “Export” to select a path that exports the XML key request file.

An XML key file will be generated automatically in the selected path.

Please send the following information to support@sunba.net:
1)XML key request file
2)Order ID or proof of purchase

Sunba support team will return an “input key” within 24 hours.

Alternatively, you can self-generate the password via our server: http://122.152.220.16:8000/

If you cannot access the server, please contact support@sunba.net and we will reboot/re-activate the server.

Note:
1) You can power off the computer or exit the SADP tool waiting for the key from Sunba.
2) Please do NOT power off/reboot the camera. The camera needs to stay powered before getting the return verification key, otherwise the previously sent key request file will expire.
3) After you receive the verification key file from Sunba, please import it within 24 hours otherwise the file will expire.

If you want a quick remote session, Sunba Support (support@sunba.net) will generate an immediate password based on the QR code from the SADP tool.

How to resolve the “Device Rejected” error in SADP tool

If you are going to make changes over SADP tool, and you are seeing this error prompt, it usually occurs for the following reasons:

1.The password entered is incorrect.

2.The security level of SADP is not authorized to modify the camera’s network information.

Firstly, please go to Configuration – Network – Advanced Setting – Integration Platform.

I am unable to live stream on YouTube with Sunba Illuminati

Only H.264 (video) and AAC (audio) is supported by YouTube (below is quoted from YouTube):

Incorrect stream format
Your encoder is set to something other than H.264 video and AAC audio. Adjust to H.264 video and AAC audio for the stream to be properly ingested.

Please change the container format for the video. The current container format isn’t right for this configuration.
The audio stream is encoded with an unsupported codec. Please set the audio codec for the stream to a supported codec (AAC, MP3).
Please set the video codec for the stream to H.264. The video is encoded with the wrong codec.
Please correct the video codec profile for the stream. The video is encoded with the wrong codec profile.

You can change the video and audio codec info in Configuration-Video/Audio.

2. Please make sure you input the correct RTMP url in the camera configuration page.

For example:

If the YouTube Stream key is 5zkh-ptxp-08t6-8ykc

And the YouTube Stream url is rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2

Please enter the following format under Configuration-Network-Advanced Settings-RTMP:

3. Frame rate/bitrate too high with limited bandwidth. Please note streaming to YouTube takes your upload bandwidth.

However, please be aware that globally download bandwidth is generally higher than upload bandwidth (e.g., 200Mbps download vs 10Mbps upload). So it is essential that you know the upload bandwidth of your network package before determining the quality of streaming.

For HD level live streaming, at least 5Mbps is required and you should leave some bandwidth for less competitive upload events.

Therefore, if your stream lags a lot or if the stream fails to connect despite 1&2, you should try lowering the bitrate and frame per second.

Internet Explorer Snapshot/Video Record Failed

Please add the camera’s IP or domain to the trusted sites of your internet explorer browser as follows and try restarting the browser.

Do NOT check the “require server verification (https:)” option.

Is there a joystick available for my IP cameras?

The answer is yes but we would not recommend that.

The reason is because IP cameras can already be remotely controlled via Smartphone anywhere with internet so it is generally very redundant to have a joystick (3D keyboard).

However, if you really want to have a joystick to control your IP camera, you can google “ONVIF joystick” on amazon.com. All of our IP cameras are ONVIF compliant.

We have customers who have used PTZOptics IP ONVIF keyboard and the PTZ function does work. The preset function, however, only works for the performance and smart series.

Is there an additional dome cover for the camera?

Please note if the camera is infrared, then it is unable to put a plastic cover on it because it will interfere with the infrared lights coming through.

You will need to use infrared transmissible materials to make such a cover. However, that will result in additional expenses.
That’s why infrared cameras are usually not covered.

If you put cheap plastic cover around your infrared camera, then at night it will generate blurry images.

However, if you are not interested in having the infrared feature, you may be able to put a plastic cover around the camera.

Our 502S and 205 series are infrared-free and thus has an external plastic cover.

Live View Failed Issue on Chrome (PC)

This is for model Illuminati only. Please follow the steps below to fix the issue:

My auto tracking camera doesn’t track when ONVIF is enabled

This is usually because the NVR that the camera was connected to is sending other preset commands to the camera.

You will see a list of users for the camera under Configuration-System-User Management if you have the camera added to more than 1 client.

The “user operation time” is the last time the NVR sends the commands.

Note for ONVIF, there is a process of preset matching between the camera and NVR (you will see that in the log if you are familiar with Blue Iris).

Some NVR will override or interrupt the presets set in the camera, so if you encounter this, set the ONVIF user as media and only use the NVR for recording purpose.

How to add the camera

Warm Tip: This product only supports 2.4 GHZ WIFI. Before adding devices, make sure that your router is 2.4 GHZ WIFI, and your mobile phone is connected to 2.4 GHZ WIFI.

First, connect the camera power supply. After about 40S, you will hear the device tinkling sound. If you do not hear the tinkling sound, please press RESET 10S at the device base. If the equipment does not have audio, please judge by time.

Note:

1. Please use the power adapter matched with the camera to avoid damage to the equipment.
2. Don’t plug in wiring for power-on equipment; (After plugging in wiring, you can’t configure WIFI with one key)
3. One-click configuration WIFI only supports some models, and some models do not support one-click configuration WIFI.
4. Box camera, Dome camera and other models use connection hotspots to configure WIFI. See AP connection operation instructions for details.

Wired connection (only applicable to the equipment with internet access)

(1) Please connect the network cable and the equipment cable interface. The other end of cable connects the router, and the camera is on, waits the startup and completes the self-inspection (If you fail to self-check, please press the recovery key for a long time to restore the factory settings.).

(2)Click “add camera” on APP’s main interface to select “add UID by scanning QR code” (QR code above XXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX out of the machine body) or “LAN search UID” after the mobile phone connects the WIFI.

(3) Click the modelxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxx of camera occurred in the camera list.

⑷ Return to the camera list by clicking “√”, then the camera is displayed online, and conduct the preview by clicking the camera.

Wirelss Installation(only for devices with WIFI modules)

After installing the mobile phone software, the mobile phone connects to WIFI, clicks Add Camera >Wireless Installation> Enter WIFI Password >Do you hear the sound? The system will be equipped with WIFI if it has been selected properly. When the WIFI configuration is successful, there will be voice prompt. (If you don’t have audio equipment, please see the picture prompt)

(1) Network Camera in Network; Select the corresponding UID

(2) Enter the camera password (the default password for the camera is admin).

(3) Click the completion button in the upper right corner to complete the addition of the camera.

Hot-spot connection (only suitable for devices with WIFI modules)

Warm Tip: To watch and download remote videos, SD cards need to be inserted, while local videos are saved in the APP installation device.

Camera list display mode

Click the camera list interface icon  to select the camera list in large or small image mode.

Sidebar settings

Click the camera list interface button, or swipe the screen to the right in the camera list interface to enter the APP sidebar. The APP name is displayed on the sidebar. the below displays APP version.

• Local file

Click Local File to enter the local file interface. This interface displays all the local videos and pictures saved by this camera on this phone. Click on the file to playback the video file or view the local picture. Click the Edit button to delete the file.

• More

Click the More button to check whether the APP has obtained the notification permission of the mobile phone. If the display is not enabled, the APP cannot send the alarm push message. Clicking enabled, you can jump to the setting interface to open the notification permission.

Video/Image search and view

Local recording playback and download

Find the camera to be viewed in the camera list interface, click the icon, select the recording page, the recording file will be displayed, you can sort according to the size and length of the video file, click the button, you can save the video file to the mobile phone album. Click the edit button, it can delete the selected video file.

View local snapshot images

Click on the image page in the local file interface, the local snapshot images will be displayed, the images will be sorted according to the capture time, click the preview thumbnail to view the image, click the button, you can delete or save the image to the album.

Remote video playback and download

Remote video playback

Click the button “camera list interface” to enter the remote recording list interface. The APP searches for the last 6 hours of video files by default. You can customize the sorting according to the recording time, click the video file, and then click play to playback the video files in the SD card of the device.

Remote video download

Click on the video file in the recording list interface, and then click Download, the video file will be downloaded automatically. The downloaded video file will be saved in the local recording interface. After the video download is completed, you can click to continue downloading, continue to download other video files, or click view, will jump to the local recording interface automatically.

Click the button on the recording list interface, the search option appears, you can select the recording search range as needed.

Select On to indicate that the device with microphone function. When the surrounding sound is greater than the intensity of the device check sound, trigger an alarm, click to adjust the sound alarm, you can adjust the sound alarm sensitivity

1.Simple settings

Select Simple settings, the recording time period defaults to Monday-Sunday full-day recording.

2.Advanced settings

Select advanced settings to customize the time period for each day of recording manually

Enter the advanced settings interface, click the quick edit button, select the time period to be recorded, you can customize the recording time period; edit it, clicking the Finish button to save the settings.

Can view the total space and free space of the device SD card, can format SD card

2、The device time zone can be set. After the time zone is set successfully, the device will restart automatically.

Device information

Can get the device information of the camera: including device name, device type, Network type, number of user connections, software version, IP address, Subnet mask, gateway, DNS, etc.

Check for updates:

After clicking, the camera will check the firmware version automatically. If there is a new version, it will prompt for updates, click to upgrade online

Function description of live broadcast interface

Ordinary camera interface

The ordinary camera monitoring interface is displayed in the small screen mode by default. The function selection button is displayed at the bottom of the screen. More function keys can be called to slide to the left in the blank space. The function description of the buttons is shown in the figure below.

Note: Some functions require device support

PTZ function:

For devices with PTZ function, use your finger to swipe the live video, the camera will rotate according to the direction of the finger.

Exit the live interface:

Press the blank space and pull down on the small screen interface or click the back button to exit the live interface.

Panoramic camera interface

The panoramic camera will have different live broadcast interfaces depending on the model. It subjects to the connected model. The key function description as following:

Press the back button to exit the live interface

View the camera

After adding the camera for a few seconds, wait for the camera to connect to the camera automatically, prompt the online description to view the camera video, click on the camera that displays online to enter the camera live interface.Camera status description:

Connecting: At this time, the camera is establishing a connection with the network camera. According to different networks, the connection time is different.

Online: This status indicates that the device is connected properly; click to view the video;

Not connected: This status indicates that the device is offline

Password error: This status indicates that the camera login password is wrong. Clicking on the camera in this state will pop up the Change Password dialog box.

Add camera

Install the APP, connect the mobile phone to the WIFI network, enter the APP and click the Add Device button to enter the Add Device interface. If it is the first time to use or restore the factory settings: the camera is not connected to the network, clicking the new device; the camera that has connected to the network, clicking on the device in use

New device add

After clicking the “New Device” button, power on the device, wait for about 30 seconds, confirm that the device is working, click next.

Connected to Network cable

If the device is connected to the network cable, click the “Connected Network Cable” button, the APP will search for the UID of the device in the current LAN automatically. Selecting the UID to be added and click the Add button, the device will search for the nearby WIFI signal automatically to enter the wireless configuration interface. Enter WIFI password, click “Configure wifi and add”, after WIFI configuration successfully, jump to the device list interface; if you do not want to configure WIFI temporarily, click the “Do not configure, directly add” button, adding camera fter confirmation.

Un-connected to Network cable

If the device is not connected to the network cable, click the “Un-Connected to Network Cable” button to enter the interface for selecting the network type.

Sound wave configuration network support equipment: PTZ Camera, Card type camera, Bulb camera, Small flying saucer camera, etc.

AP configuration network support equipment: Box camera, PTZ Camera, Speed dome camera, Big flying saucer camera, etc.

Sound wave configuration network

When the power is turned on, the device will enter the waiting state, and the device will send out a “beep” sound intermittently. Click Next to scan the QR code of the device UID number with the mobile phone. If there is no QR code, click Skip. Enter the password of the WIFI signal to be configured, click to start the sound wave configuration, the system will configuration WIFI automatically. After WIFI configuration successfully, there is a voice prompt

AP configuration network

When the network cable is not connected, turn on the power, click to add, the APP will search for hotspot signals of nearby cameras automatically. The hotspot format is IPCAM-XXXXXX, the password defaults to 01234567. Selecting the hotspot of the camera to be added, clicks connect. After connecting successfully, enter the device add interface, click Add, enter the wireless configuration interface, enter the router’s WIFI password, click “Configure wifi and add”, after WIFI configuration  successfully, jump to the device list interface; if you do not want to configure WIFI, click the button ” Don’t configure, add directly”, add camera after confirmation.

Note: AP configuration network needs to open the phone’s GPS function first.

Add device in use

Scan QR code

Generate a QR code by using the online QR code generation tool, and then scan the QR code through the mobile APP to scan and add.

Search for nearby devices

1、Click the button “Search for nearby devices” to search for the ip camera in the wireless network where the phone is located, and select the corresponding UID.

2、Enter the camera password (the camera default password is admin)

3、Click the button “Add” to add a camera.

Delete camera

In the device list interface, long press the camera to be deleted or click the button “setting” to enter the camera setting interface, click the button “delete device” to delete the added camera.

1. Setting motion detection

If you want to monitor a zone fixed, when the zone has exception, it enables alarm, you can choose motion detection function. Settings like below.

The equipment can support 4 zones setting, you can enable it through tick the option box at the bottom of page. When enable a zone, the zone box will display on the screen, and list zone number, moving mouse to this zone box, you can drag the box to any position; also can move mouse to red box at the bottom right corner, drag it to change the size. After setting, click apply, motion detection will take effect.

2. Setting alarm Linkage

When alarm triggered, the equipment will alarm with many ways, as shown in below picture:
send alarm and pictures to email
send captured pictures to assigned FTP server
send video recording to assigned FTP server
capture a picture, then save to TF Card
Recording a video for 15 seconds, then save to TF card (including 1-3 seconds warning before video)
linkage Preset: after the alarm, call preset
alarm capture quanity, setting as required (1-3 pieces)

If you want set Email alarm, please tick ”E-mail Alarm and Send with Picture”. and then click “Email setting”

3. Setting Email

The items in above picture is mandatory fields need to fill in. If the filled content is not qulified, the setting will not be successful. After writing completed, click Apply firstly, then testing, it will reminder testing successfully when finished.

Note:

1. The server of sending email should support POP3 protocol. In order to strengthen security and reduce spam, Many mail server closed this protocol at present. So users need to check if the server support POP3 before choose mail server, otherwise the mail can not send successfully.
2. For some mail server using SSL certificate, it must enable SSL option, then can send email successfully.
3. Some mailboxes require additional security settings, such as Gmail messages, you need to log in to your google account, open to allow less secure apps in “Sign-in & security” page.

If your Gmail mailbox opened “2-Step Verification”, then you need to set up a separate “app passwords” for camera login,

How to set up “app password” you can click on the “Learn more” to get help

If you do not know the security settings of other mailboxes, we recommended use Gmail.

4. Setting alarm time

The equipment will trigger alarm only after detected alarm in protection period. So you need to select which time to set protection carefully.

Note: When setting time, please adjust system time firstly.

How to set alarm to upload pictures and video to the FTP server

1. Setting motion detection

Timing capture and timing record of SD card

1.Timing capture

Choosing “save image to SD Card” or “save images to FTP server”, at a regular interval (can be set like above picture), the device will capture images saving to SD Card.

Click “FTP” into set FTP

2. Timing record

Video file duration: can set video file duration, default is 600 seconds.

Open video: can choose whether open video to TF Card

Stream: can set recording stream

recording time: set timing recording time as required

then confirm the camera support SD card and insert SD card, as shown in below picture:

How to view pictures card and download video of SD

Click “SD card” button in IE home page of camera.

Page will display the date of picture and video, select date.

Images folder to store pictures, record folder store videos.

Open images folder, click the images file name directly view picture.

Open record folder, click the record file name to download video.

CAMHI IP Camera Port mapping setting method

1. Please setup the IP address to be Static IP address.

2.Please modify HTTP port number.

The device HTTP port mapping to the external network router,
“External ports”: This port is corresponding to the access requirement of outside network
“Internal Port”: port for this equipment
“Service agreement” selects “ALL”
“IP address”: LAN IP address of the camera.

NOTE:
If your router supports UPNP function, you can also use UPNP port mapping automatically.
UPNP stands for universal plug and play, if you started UPNP, once the IP camera was connected into the LAN, it will communicate with the router of the LAN.
It will request the router to open a port to forward its own port. User doesn’t need to log in the router to set the port forwarding.

users in the use of the function, need to confirm a router also is enabled UPNP; Because many router model, not necessarily can very good support UPNP, testing and supporting the router is very good with, or suggest not start the function. At present test and TP-LINK router cooperate good.
