To set up your camera using a SmartHub or Base Station:

Plug the Ethernet Cable into your SmartHub or Base Station and tap Continue.

Plug the AC adapter into the wall outlet, make sure the lights on the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station turn on, and tap Continue.

Arlo SecureLink is a technology that uses the sub-GHz wireless communication to communicate between Arlo devices. The Arlo Security Keypad Sensor Hub uses Arlo SecureLink to talk with devices such as the Arlo All-in-One Sensor and the Arlo Pro 5S Camera.

To set up an Arlo camera with an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station:

1.Launch the Arlo Secure App.

2.Tap Devices.

3.Tap .

4.Tap Cameras.

5.Tap Ultra, Pro, or Essential.

6.Select your camera.

7.Select an Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station.
Note: If an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station is not installed, tap Add New SmartHub.
Plug the Ethernet Cable into your Arlo SmartHub or Base Station and tap Continue.
Plug the AC adapter into the wall outlet, make sure the LEDs on the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station turn on, and tap Continue.

8.Insert the battery into the camera, and tap Continue.
Arlo will begin looking for your camera.
Make sure the camera is within 3 to 6 feet of your Arlo SmartHub or Base Station during the setup process.
Avoid placing the camera within close proximity to other Wi-Fi devices to avoid signal interference during the setup process.
If the search is taking too long, tap Manually Pair Device.
Press the Sync button on the camera and tap Continue.

9.Name your Arlo camera and tap Continue.

10.Position your Arlo camera and tap Continue.

11.Tap Finish.

To set up Arlo Pro 4, Arlo Pro 5S, or Arlo Essential wire-free camera directly to your Wi-Fi router:

1.Launch the Arlo Secure App.

2.Tap Devices.

3.Tap .

5.Select your camera.

6.Select Connect without SmartHub and tap Continue.

7.Check your mobile device settings to ensure you are connected to a 2.4 GHz network.
Note: Arlo Pro 5S cameras work with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands after installation is complete on 2.4 GHz. For more information, visit: How does the Arlo Pro 5S Camera use 5GHz Wi-Fi networks?

8.Return to the Arlo Secure App and tap Continue.

9.Enter your Wi-Fi SSID (Network Name) and Password.

10.Tap Continue.

11.For Arlo Essential wire-free cameras:
Press and hold the Sync button on the bottom of the camera for two seconds.

12.For Arlo Pro 4 and Arlo Pro 5S:
Insert the battery into the camera and tap Continue.
When the LED on the front of the camera is blinking blue, tap Continue.
If the LED is not blinking blue, tap LED is not blinking blue.
Press and hold the Sync button on the inside of the camera and tap Continue.
When the LED begins blinking blue, tap Continue.

13.Hold the QR code about four to six inches in front of your Arlo camera.

14.When you hear a chime, tap Continue.

15.Arlo will begin looking for your camera.
Make sure the camera is within 3 to 6 feet of your Wi-Fi router during the setup process.

To complete the Arlo Pro or Arlo Pro 2 setup process, you will need an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station. Install the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station first before installing your cameras. For more information, visit: How do I connect my Arlo SmartHub or Base Station to the Internet? – Arlo Secure 4.0

If you are setting up multiple cameras, only sync one camera at a time.

To set up an Arlo Pro or Pro 2 Camera:

1.Launch the Arlo Secure App.

2.Tap Devices.

3.Tap .

4.Tap Cameras.

5.Tap Pro.

6.Tap Pro 2 or Pro.

7.Select an Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station. If only one Arlo SmartHub or Base Station is installed, tap Continue when Arlo has detected the device.
Note: If an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station is not installed, tap Add New SmartHub.
Plug the Ethernet Cable into your Arlo SmartHub or Base Station and tap Continue.
Plug the AC adapter into the wall outlet, make sure the LEDs on the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station illuminate, and tap Continue.

8.Insert the battery into the camera, and tap Continue.
Unlock the battery compartment by pressing the latch button and pulling back gently.
Insert the battery as shown and close the battery door.

9.Press the Sync button on the camera for about two seconds and then release the button.

10.When the LED on the camera is blinking Blue, tap Continue.

11.Arlo will begin looking for your camera.
Note: Make sure the camera is within 3 to 6 feet of your Arlo SmartHub or Base Station during the setup process. Avoid placing the camera within close proximity to other Wi-Fi devices to avoid signal interference during the setup process.
If the search is taking too long, tap Manually Pair Device. Press the Sync button on the camera and tap Continue.

12.Name your Arlo camera and tap Continue.

19.Hold the QR code about four to six inches in front of your Arlo camera.

How do I set up my Arlo Go 2 Camera? – Arlo Secure 4.0

Arlo Go 2 gives you the flexibility of using 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or LTE for connectivity. You can also use LTE as a backup in case your Wi-Fi internet connection is interrupted.

Note: When using both 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and LTE mode, Wi-Fi will always be the primary mode of connection.

Arlo Go 2 works with the same Arlo Secure App as all other Arlo cameras and devices. However, to connect your Go 2 camera to the mobile network, an activated SIM card with a mobile data plan must be inserted into the camera.

Note: We recommend that you charge the battery before mounting your camera. Your camera LED indicator light will blink amber if your battery needs charging. The indoor charging cable that came with your camera works with most power adapters.

10.Enter your Wi-Fi credentials, then tap Continue.

11.Hold the QR code in the Arlo Secure App, 4 to 6 inches in front of your camera.

Deploying outdoor WiFi is always necessary for deploying outdoor wireless security cameras. There are many options for extending WiFi. The optimal choice depends on the places and environments in that outdoor wireless cameras are installed.

There are two advisable solutions to extend the WiFi just around your house’s outdoor perimeter within 100 meters (300 feet). A network extension to the remote location farther than 300 feet will need a point-to-point wireless bridge.

1. Near Site WiFi Extension to the Outdoor Wireless Security Cameras (up to 100 meters or 300 feet)

It’s hard for WiFi signals to penetrate wire-filled stucco walls or stone walls. To provide strong WiFi outside for the outdoor cameras, one WiFi extender installed outdoors would avoid the stifling impact of walls on WiFi signals. There are two kinds of products—Powerline WiFi extenders and outdoor WiFi access points—to provide WiFi outside the home.

1.1 Near Site Outdoor WiFi for Cameras: Powerline WiFi Extenders

If you install your outdoor wireless camera under your eaves or in the backyard, plugging in a powerline WiFi extender around is an excellent way to solve the outdoor WiFi issues. As the powerline adapters are rated as indoor devices, a covered patio or waterproof electric box is needed to stand the harsh outdoor environments.

TP-Link TL-WPAxx series powerline wireless adapter kit is the easiest solution, providing two powerline adapters. One adapter installed indoors relays the data from the network cable to the power line. The second adapter broadcasts the WiFi signal to your cameras. Refer to the Outdoor Solution Guide for the installation tutorial and examples. The complete introduction of Powerline adapters will help you understand whether this solution is suitable for you.

1.2 Near Site Outdoor WiFi for Cameras: Outdoor WiFi Access Points

If your patio is not enclosed or the outdoor wireless cameras are installed further from your home, you may need an outdoor access point. TP-Link offers Omada EAP series omnidirectional outdoor access points for outdoor WiFi. They come with IP67 or IP65 waterproof and dustproof housing and a -30–70°C (-22–158°F) operating temperature range. They are designed to protect the outdoor access points against harsh outdoor conditions.

According to the areas of deploying outdoor cameras, there are two deployment methods. The basics are listed below. Refer to Get Outdoor WiFi with Outdoor WiFi Access Points for more details. Go to the Outdoor Solution Guide for the installation tutorial and examples.

1.2.1 WiFi Outside for Relatively Small Areas

One or two outdoor WiFi access points are deployed to connect the outdoor wireless cameras in relatively small areas. With the included passive PoE adapter, connect the Omada outdoor access points with your existing router to simultaneously provide data and power using a single Ethernet cable.

1.2.2 WiFi Outside for Relatively Large Areas

Several outdoor WiFi access points are deployed to connect outdoor wireless cameras across relatively large areas. The PoE switches or passive PoE adapters connect the Omada access points with a single Ethernet cable. Omada Mesh technology can wirelessly connect to the outdoor access points without additional cable if some access points cannot link to LAN ports. With Mesh technology, the maximum distance of extending outdoor WiFi can be multiple hundreds of meters.

2. Remote Site Network Expansion (More than 100 m and up to 30 km)

You can use the Pharos CPE series directional outdoor wireless antennas to build a wireless bridge to expand the network for miles. It is perfect for remote surveillance systems covering vast areas. You can also broadcast the wireless signals with an additional wireless access point on the remote site when necessary.

iCam365 camera Complete Guide

Connect iCam365 camera

Download iCam365 app

Use the “Scan” function on the mobile phone to scan the QR code to download and install the iCam365 APP.

Login iCam365 app

You need to register iCam365 account and login to use iCam365 camera.

Connect power supply

Connect the device to the power supply.
Keep it connected for about 1 minute until hearing a prompt sound.

Add iCam365 camera

There are 3 ways to connect iCam365 camera, we recommend to use ‘Scan code to add a device’ to connect camera.

Click the + icon, then scan the QR code on the iCam365 camera, the QR code is usually on the bottom or back of the camera. iCam365 APP will show the recommended way to add.

Please let the camera close to the router, and then connect the camera.

Select Connection Mode

If the QR code on the iCam365 camera is missing or not recognized, you can manually select the add method to connect the camera.

1. Click Add by type in the top right corner, select Surveillance camera, select WiFi camera.

2. Then you can choose Quickly add, Scan code to add a device and Add a device by wired network.

Quickly add – Android

Add a camera via the AP hotspot connected to the iCam365 camera.

When the ‘Camera startup is complete, waiting for network to be added‘ voice, you can start to connect iCam365 camera, if there is no voice, please reset iCam365 camera.

1. Select Quickly add, click Next > I know

2. Click CHOOSE, click the icon to select your wifi and enter your wifi password, then click NEXT.

Can’t search iCam365 camera?

Please connect iCam365 hotspot wifi manually, wifi name: AICAM_xxxxxxxxxxx.

Can’t find iCam365 hotspot wifi?
Please reset iCam365 camera.

3. After you click JOIN, your phone will automatically connect to iCam365 camera’s hotspot wifi, then wait for iCam365 camera to connect to your wifi.

After successful connection, set the camera name and you can start using iCam365 camera.

Scan QR code on your mobile phone to add a iCam365 camera to pair WiFi.

When the ‘Camera startup is complete, waiting for network to be added‘ voice, you can start to connect iCam365 camera, if there is no voice, please reset iCam365 camera.

1. Select Scan code to add a device, click Next, select your wifi and enter your wifi password and click Next.

2. Let iCam365 camera scan the QR code displayed by APP, Distance 10-30 cm (3 – 11in).

3. When the iCam365 camera emits the ‘Scan QR code successfully‘ voice, click NEXT and wait for the camera to connect to wifi.

After successful connection, set the camera name and you can start using iCam365 camera.

Share Camera

You can share iCam365 camera to your family or friends.

Share the account to enjoy the permission to watch the live broadcast, intercom permission, control the rotation of the PTZ. and view video replay privileges

1.Click Share > Add new sharing, then enter your family or friend’s email or cell phone number.

2.After sharing, a sharing message will be sent to the email or number you entered, register and login to iCam365 APP and you can start using the camera.

In the sharing screen, you can click the icon on the right to delete the shared users.

Setup Recording

Before setting up the recording, you need to insert the memory card to make the recording function available.

1. Insert the memory card into the iCam365 camera, then enter the Memory card interface to see if the camera reads the memory card.

Note: When replacing or removing the card, please cut off the power first to avoid card damage and data loss.

2. Click Video recording settinas, you can set the recording mode and definition here.

· All-day video recording : Uninterrupted continuous video recording

· Event video recording : Record a video when an event is detected

· Turn off : The device will stop recording a video after turn-off

Video Definition: The higher the storage resolution, the clearer the recorded video will be, while the more storage capacity taken up and the less the total recording time. Please choose the storage resolution according to your own situation.

View Video

Click the video icon to view the video, the time with color means there is recording at the current time.

Setup Detection

1. Click Detection settings and select the detection sensitivity. You can also set the Detection area.

Warning voice

Setup Intelligent tracking

Alarm message

By clicking on the icon, you can view the Alarm message, and by clicking on the message, you can view the details.

Lighting and night vision

In the Lighting and night vision screen, you can set the light lamp and Night vision mode.

White light lamp

· Automatic: The white light lamp is turned on when an event is found at night, and automatically turns off after the event is over.

Night vision mode

Reset iCam365 camera

How to fix not connecting to iCam365 camera?

Fix can’t connect to wifi

iCam365 camera can not connect to wifi usually caused by the following problems, you can follow the guide below to fix the problem of not connecting to wifi.

1. Make sure the iCam365 camera is currently in waiting connection mode.

· After the camera is powered on, wait for the camera to start up (about 30 seconds), the camera will send out a voice prompt ‘Camera start up is complete, waiting for the network to be added’.

· No voice prompt, please reset the iCam365 camera

2. Make sure iCam365 camera supports your wifi.

Voice: Router connection failed, please reconfigure the network

It means iCam365 camera can’t connect to wifi, please check your wifi information and reset the camera to reconnect.

Voice: Receiving wifi information, connecting to server

How to reset the password of the VIGI camera?

If you forget the password of the VIGI camera, you can reset the password via VIGI Security Manager or VIGI NVR.

How to modify the IP address of the VIGI camera

You can use the VIGI Security Manager or VIGI NVR to modify the IP address of your VIGI camera.

Via: VIGI Security Manager

If the camera is not added, go to Settings > Device > Device List > Discovered Devices, select the device and click the Set Network.

If the camera has been added, go to Settings > Device > Device List > My Devices > Settings icon of the camera > Network Settings > Connection and modify the IP address.

How to avoid the overexposure of image

The overexposure of surveillance images can be roughly divided into over-exposure during the day and overexposure at night. The overexposure in the daytime is basically caused by the backlight of the scene, while the overexposure at night is caused by the over-intensity of the infrared reflected light of the object.

Overexposure in the daytime

The light reflected from the counter is relatively strong, making the counter very bright and unclear

The camera will overexpose in the presence of bright light directed or reflected into the lens. Overexposure will lead to unclear details. During installation, we need to consider scenarios and avoid direct light or strong reflections. If it is unavoidable, we need to adjust the image parameters to alleviate the overexposure.

Step 1: We take the overexposure area as the exposure target and do backlight compensation (BLC), so that the IPC takes the overexposure area as the target to reduce the overall light input. The overexposure area in the figure is near the center, and we set BLC area to be center.

Step 2: After we enable BLC, the IPC reduces the overall light input, so the surroundings will become darker. We can increase the brightness of the surroundings by wide dynamic range (WDR).

Step 3: We can fine-tune brightness and contrast to display the best image.

The following picture shows the adjusted result. (BLC area in center + WDR + brightness 60, contrast 40.) As you can see, the area of counter is clearer. You can further adjust the parameters according to your own image quality.

Overexposure at night

Overexposure due to being next to the wall is quite obvious, as shown below.

When the camera is installed next to the wall, if the angle is too biased towards the wall, the infrared light reflected back from the wall will be too strong, and the wall will be overexposed. If the wall is overexposed, the camera will reduce the shutter exposure time to maintain the overall average brightness of the screen, so that the other part of the screen will be too dark.

Step 1. Adjust angle to reduce the area of overexposed objects in the picture.

Without affecting the monitoring, make the wall area in the picture as small as possible. Firstly, the effective monitoring area can be increased; secondly, if the overexposure area of the wall is reduced, the exposure time of the camera will be increased, and the monitoring image will be clearer.

Step 2. Set BLC area to make dark areas brighter

You can increase the exposure time of the camera by setting the BLC area of the camera. Although the wall or reflective obstacles may be brighter, the effective monitoring area can be seen more clearly.

Step 3. Enable WDR to balance the brightness

Increase WDR can strengthen the details in the dark, and monitoring effect in night vision is better.

Note: Too high WDR will increase the noise in the night vision picture. WDR should be properly increased.

How to upgrade the firmware of VIGI cameras

How to select suitable lens?

The larger the focal length of the lens, the smaller the angle of view, and the farther the monitoring distance. So the camera lens with low focal length is suitable for observing small areas where need a wide angle. If you want to observe the objects closer with a big distance, you’d better select the cameras with a lager focal length lens.

How to rotate the image of my VIGI camera

You can rotate the image via VIGI App, VIGI Security Manager or VIGI NVR. VIGI Security Manager and VIGI NVR has more mirror option than VIGI App.

NOTE: A full recharge will take an estimated 6 – 8 hours. Charging the battery inside of the camera housing may take longer. The battery LED will change from red to green when charging is complete.

Blink makes plenty of great outdoor cameras, but few are as great as the Blink Wired Floodlight Camera. As one of the newest members of the Blink family, the Wired Floodlight Camera offers heaps of functionality despite its budget-friendly price of $99.

In case the name didn’t give it away, the Blink Wired Floodlight Camera isn’t just an outdoor camera – it’s also a floodlight. And a bright one at that, capable of producing 2,600 lumens of LED light. You’ll also benefit from motion detection, a wired connection that offers a constant power supply, and color night vision. Its design is a bit bulkier than others on this list, but that’s largely due to the massive floodlights that loom over the camera.

Anyone in the market for an outdoor camera that’s both affordable and powerful (and comes with shockingly bright floodlights) should give strong consideration to Blink’s new product. But if you’re looking for something with a more streamlined design, consider looking back at the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro mentioned earlier in our roundup.

Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro

With the ability to capture 2.5K QHD footage and built with three adjustable floodlights that product 3,000 lumens of brightness, the Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro is a premium camera that doesn’t carry a premium price. It’s best for capturing large backyards or driveways (thanks to its powerful floodlights), but they can also be dimmed if you don’t need quite as much power.

Rounding out the package is automation that senses when the sun goes down, support for microSD cards to store footage locally, two-way audio, and compatibility with Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT. Because it’s a floodlight, it’s a bit bulkier than most other products on this list, but it’s a great option if you like the idea of filming in 2.5K QHD and want to light up your yard when motion is detected.

It’s a bit expensive, but you’re getting a lot of value out of this investment. The Ring Stick Up Cam Pro is designed to work both indoors and outside – giving it plenty of versatility. Along with its weatherproofing, the camera offers HDR video and films in 1080p, supports two-way audio, and is easy to install thanks to its wire-free setup.

One minor sticking point is its lack of a built-in privacy shutter. That might be an issue if you’re using it indoors, though you can quickly toggle alerts off and disarm the camera from the Ring smartphone app. But if you have it installed outside, you likely won’t miss the feature. You’ll also want to spring for a monthly Ring subscription to unlock additional features such as cloud saves and smart alerts.

Beyond those minor quirks, there’s not much to dislike about this powerful outdoor camera. Homes with other Ring products already installed will love how easy it is to sync the device with the rest of their smart home, and Ring newcomers will enjoy its high-quality images, simple setup, and generous 155-degree viewing angle.

The Arlo Essential XL Wireless Security Camera is all about battery life. Capable of running for up to 16 months before needing a recharge, it’s leagues beyond most other products on the market. That makes it incredibly appealing if you’re using it on a second property or plan to put it in a place that’s cumbersome to reach (as you’ll only have to take it down less than once per year).

It also benefits from support for 2K footage capture, color night vision, and a wide 130-degree viewing angle. You’ll likely want to pick up an Arlo Secure subscription so you can get improved smart alerts and 30-day video history – though it’s a bit more expensive than the competition at $5 per month.

The Essential XL is fully supported by the Arlo smartphone app, meaning you can easily set activity zones, view your alert history, or check out a live feed of your camera. And despite all these great features, the Essential XL is reasonably priced. Where do I place outdoor security cameras?

FBI crime data indicates that most (around 55%) home intruders try to get into homes through either the front or back door. So, you may want to have your security camera scoping out your doors. It’s also a good idea to cover other entry points, like back windows, that are hidden away where someone could break in without being seen.

Where exactly to mount your outdoor cameras, however, depends on your property and your individual needs. You may have a shed in the back that contains expensive lawn equipment, for instance, and you might want to place more focus on that area. Perhaps your neighborhood has experienced a few break-ins recently, and the intruders typically enter through the garage, so you want to cover your garage area.

How many security cameras do I need?

Typically, having at least two outdoor cameras is ideal, not including your video doorbell. If you have a video doorbell to watch your porch, combined with an outdoor security camera covering the front and back areas of your home, this should be sufficient. However, if you have a large property, live in an area where there’s a lot of property crime, or if you have vehicles or valuables stored on your property, you may want to add in an extra camera or two.

Can you use an indoor security camera outdoors?

How well do outdoor security cameras detect motion?

Can outdoor security cameras survive severe weather?

Most outdoor cameras have a rating of IP65 or higher, which means they are waterproof and can withstand someone spraying a hose on them. That usually (but not always) means that a camera with that rating can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit or similar.

Cameras vary slightly in terms of survival in extreme weather, but anything with a rating of IP65 or higher will be fine for most climates. If you live in an extremely hot or extremely cold climate, you might want to consider a camera with a rating of IP66 or higher.

Do I have to pay for storage for an outdoor camera?

This depends a lot on the brand and the model. Generally, if a security cam has a memory card slot, you can use native storage without paying anything — it’s just a little trickier to manage. If you want video footage to be uploaded to the cloud for easier viewing and saving, you’ll often have to pay for it. Brands like Arlo and Ring only allow for free livestreaming video and require a plan if you want to save video for any length of time. Is an outdoor security camera ever illegal?

This article will show you how to change the order of your Blink cameras in the Blink app. 

1.First, tap App Settings  on the bottom left of your Home screen.

2.Then tap Device and System Settings.

3.On the Device and System Settings screen, select the system you want to change under Systems.

On the System Settings screen tap All Devices.

From the Manage Devices screen, you can change the order that your Blink cameras appear in the app. To change the order, press and drag the three bars on the camera that you want to move. Place it in your desired location.

Once you change the order of your cameras, that order will display until you change it.

Return to the Home screen to see the new order of your cameras.

If you have additional mobile devices logged into the same Blink account, you will not see the new camera order on them. This is a per mobile device setting, which gives you the flexibility to view different camera orders on different mobile devices.

Hear what your Blink camera sees

The iOS VoiceOver Screen Reader feature allows you to hear descriptions of Live Views and Motion Notifications in the Blink app. Once you enable the VoiceOver and Audio Descriptions options in your iOS device, you can hear descriptions of Live Views, Motion Notifications, or motion clips by tapping on the image in the Blink app.

To ensure the VoiceOver Screen Reader works with the Blink app (version 6.15.0 or later), the iOS must be R15 or later.

What are Image Notifications?

Snapshot image from your Blink device

Image notifications send you a snapshot image of what’s happening in front of your Blink camera, so you can easily see activity without opening the Blink app. With a quick look at your notification, you can know immediately if you need to open up Live View to take a closer look, or wait and review your video later. Learn more about how to receive notifications of motion detection.

In order to view image notifications, your Early Notification camera setting must be disabled. Click to learn more about Early Notifications in the Blink app.

Note: Image notifications do not work with the Blink Video Doorbell. Since the Blink Video Doorbell always has Early Notification on by default, you will not be able to view image notifications on it.

If Local Storage is your only available method for saving clips, image notifications will not display since thumbnails are not generated in this case. Learn more about using Local Storage for saving clips.

iOS devices

When you have motion alerts enabled on your iOS device, you will see a motion detection notification on your home screen. 

Tapping a notification on your home screen, will take you to the clip list in the Blink app with that saved clip.

When you “long press” on a notification, you will see a larger snapshot of your detected motion.

Image notifications also display when you are within the Blink app.

How to use Live View

Use this article to understand how to access Live View from your Blink camera. Live View allows you to see your camera’s live video and hear sound directly from the Blink app and from certain Alexa enabled devices‍. 

Blink cameras use your Wi-Fi network to send Live View. The connection must have 2 MB per second or faster upload speed (from your camera to the Blink app). Live View can fail if the internet connection is too slow or external factors like signal strength and wireless interference.

How to access Live View

From the Blink app

To access Live View from the Blink app, tap the Live View play icon on the camera image you want to view.

From a motion notification

Available with certain cameras, Live Views can also be accessed by tapping the Motion Alert push notification sent to your mobile device. This setting must be enabled in the app in order for push notifications to be sent to your device. Learn more about Early Notifications.

If you do not see the Live View play icon for you Video Doorbell, your camera may be in Event Response mode. When this occurs, Live View is only accessible from the notification sent to your mobile device in response to a motion event. Learn more about Event Response.

Note: Even though a motion notification may appear simultaneously on multiple devices, Live View access is limited to one user at a time.

Live View additional options

To conserve bandwidth, your Live View may dim and a Continue? button appears at certain intervals. The button appears a few times until your viewing limit of five minutes is reached. Tap this button to continue watching the Live View.

Portrait orientation

When viewing the Blink app in portrait orientation (tall, not wide), the camera view fills the screen width. You can use the ‘pinch to zoom’ gesture to view image details; however, the actual image size does not change.

Tap the  icon in the top right of your Live View to switch to from portrait to landscape view. You can also turn your mobile device 90° sideways to automatically switch to landscape view.

Landscape orientation

Generally, the Blink app is viewed in landscape orientation (wide, not tall) and the images appear in full screen (as shown below). 

Tap the icon in the top right to switch back to portrait view. You can also turn your mobile device 90° vertically to automatically switch back to portrait view.

Save

Saving Live View clips is an exclusive feature of a Blink Subscription plan. Learn more about how to save Live View clips.

Audio Options

Speaker Icon
While in Live View, tap the speaker icon  to enable or disable the camera’s audio.

Two Way Audio
Cameras with a microphone and speaker display a microphone button  at the bottom. Two-Way Audio‍ is supported on the Video Doorbell, Outdoor and Indoor (Gen 3), Mini, and XT2 cameras.

Extended Live View

Extended Live View is only available in through the Blink Basic, Blink Plus and free trial subscription plans. 

This feature provides images and sound directly from a camera to the Blink app, up to 90 minutes at a time without user intervention. In addition, you can view regular Live View sessions up to five minutes without tapping on Continue.

Device Settings
Device Settings can be accessed in two ways. One way is from the Blink app’s home screen through . The other way is by tapping the More button in Live View and then tapping . Learn more about how to access your camera’s device settings.

Wired Floodlight Camera: Siren On/Off

The siren can be turned on and off remotely through the app. This plays a loud alert noise through your Wired Floodlight camera’s internal speaker.

How to leave Live View

When you’re ready to stop Live View, tap Close in the top left corner on iOS devices and < on Android devices.

Alexa enabled screen devices do not provide the Continue button and remain in Live View until the limit is reached. If the Live View ends before you are finished, you can re-enter Live View by pressing the icon again.

Two-way audio

Talking and hearing through your camera

The Blink Outdoor 4, Wired Floodlight, Video Doorbell, Outdoor and Indoor (3rd Gen), Mini, and XT2 cameras have two-way audio. Accessing the Blink app through your mobile device, you can speak and hear through the camera’s speaker and microphone.

Note: Two-way audio is not available in the XT and Indoor (1st Gen).

◦ Release the button when you are finished talking and the microphone will mute itself automatically. The audio can be heard through the camera’s speaker on the other end.

4.After 5 minutes, your Live View will stop and you must return to the Home screen to start another Live View session.

Note: With a Blink Subscription Plan or trial, you can use Extended Live View on the Mini camera. Extended Live View provides up to 90 continuous minutes of viewing.

Outdoor 4, Wired Floodlight Camera and Video Doorbell

Troubleshooting audio noise

Echo, feedback, or sudden repeated squeal noises

When the camera picks up sounds coming from the Blink app and transmits them back to the Blink app, “feedback” is created. Feedback is a repeating sound that increases in pitch and volume. It can occur when you have the Live View of a camera open in the Blink app and you are within hearing range of the camera.

• To avoid feedback, ensure that your mobile device accessing the Blink app is at least 10 feet away from your Blink camera. 

• To stop existing feedback or unwanted noise, tap the Mute  icon to silence the camera’s speaker. You can also stop the Live View session or switch out of the Blink app entirely.

Chirping, digital noise, or robotic sounds

Blink cameras convert audio into a digital stream so it can be heard for Live Views and recorded clips. During this conversion, extra sounds can sometimes be heard. These sounds may sound like a cluster of noises, scrambled distortion, chirps, or clicks when accessing a Live View or playing back a recorded clip.

The upload speed of your network plays an important part of your digital stream. When network speeds change quickly, your audio may be distorted. Blink devices require at least 2 Mb per second of available upload speed for each Blink device, even when multiple users are online.

Placement of your Blink devices

Device placement recommendations

Placing your camera near hard surfaces may produce unwanted sounds. Because a hard surface reflects sound, the camera microphone may pick up both the original sound and the reflected sound.

Placing the camera on an enclosed shelf or wall, or set back from a table’s edge near or between other objects may create a boxed-in environment that can affect the audio quality of the camera’s microphone and speaker.

For ideal placement, avoid placing your cameras near dense materials like brick, stone, concrete, or metals. Also, avoid placement near other electronic devices and confined spaces.

Setting your camera name and thumbnail

When a camera is first installed, its serial number (DSN) is the default camera name, and the thumbnail image will be gray. If you want to change the name of your camera or add a thumbnail picture, follow the steps below.

Change the camera name

From the Home screen, tap the camera name to change it, enter the new name, then tap OK to save.

Generate a thumbnail

From the Home Screen, tap the thumbnail button . The camera will take a screenshot of what is currently in view and replace the gray with this screenshot.

Device Settings is found by tapping the icon  in the top right corner of each thumbnail image on the home screen.

The following settings are accessible by tapping on each menu option.

 General Settings

Last Updated
Tap Pull to Refresh to manually update your camera status.

Name
Camera name that will be displayed on your Home screen. You can edit this name at any time from here or at the Home screen.

Battery Level
This will indicate if your batteries are OK or need to be replaced.

Firmware
Displays your current firmware version.

Status LED
You can set when the LED light displays either as Off or Recording.

Change Wi-Fi  
Use this option if you need to connect your Mini or Wired Floodlight camera to a different router or reconnect your camera to your existing router to troubleshoot an issue.

Connection to Wi-Fi
Displays the Signal Strength from the last time the camera connected. After moving your camera it is a good idea to return here and ensure you have good signal strength.

Connection to Sync Module
Displays the most recent Signal Strength measurement. After moving any part of your system, it is a good idea to visit this settings page to ensure you have good signal strength. If not, move the camera closer to the Sync Module or the Wi-Fi router.

Temperature
The current temperature of that camera. Tap on the temperature to enable temperature alerts or to calibrate the thermometer.

Delete Device
This option removes the camera from your Blink system and it will no longer appear on the home screen.

 Motion Settings

Motion Detection
This setting must be on for the camera to detect motion. If this setting is off, the camera will not detect motion. Note: Once you enable motion detection, arm your camera to receive Motion Detection notifications and to save motion clips.

Motion Recording Types
For Outdoor 4 and Wired Floodlight cameras, select whether you want to see video for all motion, people only, or have them suppressed so no recordings are saved. Note: The Person Detection feature is only available when you have a Blink Subscription plan.

Motion Sensitivity
Controls motion sensor sensitivity. Low sensitivity detects larger objects in motion. High sensitivity detects smaller objects. Adjust sensitivity then test by creating motion notifications to achieve the right balance for your needs.

Motion Zones
Disables motion detection for selected regions of the camera view to prevent unwanted motion clips or notifications.

Retrigger Time
The length of time from the completion of one motion clip to the start of another. This can be set from 10-60 seconds.

Early Notification
This option sends the notification as soon as motion is detected and before the clip is complete. In the Blink App, tap the notification to be immediately taken to the Live View of that camera.

 Video and Photo Settings

Motion Clip Length
The length of motion clips to be recorded and this can be set between 5 and 60 seconds. Mini and Doorbell cameras record clips up to 30 seconds.

Video Quality
This allows you to change the video quality of your Blink camera. More information about the different modes can be found here.

End Clip Early If Motion Stops
If the camera stops detecting motion, the clip will end before the full clip length is reached.

Flip Video
This should be enabled when mounting a Mini camera upside down on a ceiling so that the image is rotated right side up.

Night Vision
If set to Off, the illuminator will not turn on. If set to On, the illuminator will always turn on. If set to Auto, the illuminator will only turn on in low light conditions.

IR Intensity
This value controls brightness of the IR illuminator. This value can be set to Low, Medium, or High. Adjust to control glare or show more detail.

Illuminator Intensity
Adjusts the brightness of the LED on the Indoor (1st Gen) camera.

Photo Capture
If Photo Capture is enabled, a photo is taken once per hour. If motion notifications or other events happen (or not), the images are assembled at the end of the day into a photo-animation in the Clip Roll. 

Note: Photo Capture only works with Indoor and Outdoor (3rd Gen) and Blink Video Doorbell cameras when you have an active Blink Subscription Plan. Learn more about Photo Capture.

 Audio Settings

Speaker Volume
A slider sets the speaker audio level on the camera, as well as the chime loudness of your Video Doorbell.

Ringer Volume
Controls how loud the Blink chime sound plays when you press your Video Doorbell button when it’s wired.

 Floodlight Settings

Wired Floodlight Settings:

Light Brightness 
This slider sets the lights’ brightness from a scale of 1-10. The default setting is 5.

Dusk to Dawn
Turn on this setting to automatically switch your floodlights on at dusk and off at dawn, based on the amount of light the camera senses.

Timeout after Manual Activation
Select the amount of time the lights will stay on after they are manually turned on. The default is 5 minutes and you can set the lights to stay on for 30 seconds or up to 15 minutes. You also have an initial option Until I turn off, which requires you to manually turn off the lights.

Motion Activation
When enabled, the lights will turn on if motion is detected. The lights will turn on regardless of whether your system is armed or not.

Motion Activation when armed: When enabled, the lights will turn on if motion is detected and the camera will record a motion clip.
Motion Activation when disarmed: When enabled, the lights will turn on if motion is detected, even if your system is disarmed. No clips will be saved.

Timeout after Motion Activation
Select the amount of time the lights will stay on after motion is detected. The default is 30 seconds and you can set the lights to stay on for 30 seconds or up to 15 minutes.

Floodlight Mount Settings:

Battery Level
Displays the battery charge percentage for the floodlight.

Light Brightness
This slider sets the LED brightness from a scale of 1-10. The default setting is 5.

Timeout after Motion Activation
This setting controls how long the LEDs remain lit after the detected motion stops. You can chose between 15 seconds or up to 5 minutes after activation. 15 seconds is the default.

Note: When battery powered floodlights are manually turned on they will stay lit up to one minute.

Daylight Mode
When enabled, the LEDs will activate when motion is detected during certain daylight hours, when the outside light is limited like at dusk and dawn. The LEDs will not activate when there is an abundance of outdoor light, often during midday hours.

Daylight Sensitivity
This setting only appears when “Daylight Mode” is enabled and controls the sensitivity of the lights during daylight hours. Lower setting values only activate the LEDs in darker conditions and higher values will activate the LEDs in brighter conditions.

Firmware
This displays your current firmware version which may be automatically updated at certain intervals.

Privacy Settings

Privacy Zones
Disables motion detection for selected regions of the camera view to prevent unwanted motion clips or notifications.

Video Recording
When this setting is off, the camera will only send motion notifications without recording clips; however, Live View is still available.

Audio Streaming
Turn this setting off to disable the audio features of your camera.

Can I Disable the Blue Recording LED on the Camera?

Blink cameras have an activity indicator in the form of a blue color LED light on the front of the camera.

For the Blink Indoor, Outdoor and Mini, the Status LED is controlled in camera settings.

Blink XT and XT2, have a physical hardware switch inside the camera to control whether the status light is on or off.

The Blink Video Doorbell and 1st generation Indoor cameras are not adjustable.

For the Blink Mini camera there is a switch in the Blink app on the camera settings, General Settings screen named Status LED. The Status LED can be set to the following:

XT and XT2 blue recording status LED switch

The XT and XT2 cameras have a hardware switch inside the battery compartment  to control the blue recording light.  This feature is not available on the Blink indoor cameras.

This article will show you how to turn off the blue recording LED on Blink XT. This LED is enabled by default from the factory.

1. Remove the battery cover. To see how to do that, click here.
2. To the right of your camera’s serial number, you’ll see a switch that says “REC. LED” with two positions, “ON” and “OFF”.

3. Using tweezers or a similar tool, slide that switch to the off position (toward the top of the camera).

The Blink Video Doorbell has a blue LED that flashes when the doorbell button is pressed. There is no setting to change this.

How Do I Use Scheduled Arming?

Set a schedule for automatically arming and disarming your Blink system

This article describes how to set an automatic schedule to Arm and Disarm your Blink system.

Create a schedule

1.To get started, open up the Blink app and tap Settings in the bottom right of the home screen and select Device and System Settings.

2.Next, select the system you want to schedule.
A system is a compilation of one or more cameras. When multiple cameras are added to the same system, they are linked together so that when you arm your system, all of the cameras in that system will arm at the same time.

3.To ensure that your system arms and disarms at the correct times, make sure your time zone is set correctly.

4.Next, tap Scheduling.

5.On the Weekly Schedule screen, create your schedule. Tap  in the top right of the screen.

6.By default, Arm will be enabled and the toggle on the right will be set to AM.

7.Schedule Arming: First, set the time and day you want to set your schedule arming. Drag the clock hands to your desired time. Time is changed in 15 minute increments. Select the desired days located at the bottom of the screen. When you’re done, tap Save to set the scheduled arming and you are taken back to the Weekly Schedule screen.

8.Schedule Disarming: Next, set the time and day you want to set your schedule disarming. In the example below, the week schedule is highlighted in blue because the the disarm time has not been set. Tap the  again to set disarm schedule.

9.Disarm scheduling is done in the same manner, but you will want to switch the toggle on the left to Disarm. Drag the clock’s hand to your desired disarm time and select the days of week again. Once you have your disarm schedule set to your desired time, tap the Save button again.

10.Your schedule is now set.

Modify existing schedule

You can modify saved schedules by tapping on the arm and disarm toggles and setting new days or times.

Disable Switch

If you want to temporarily disable your schedule (Example: You’re going on vacation), you’ll now see a disabled toggle on Scheduling in the System Settings menu. Enabling this switch this will disable your schedule until you turn it off.

Delete schedule

1.To delete your schedule, go back into your schedule view. Tap the trash can icon  to delete the schedule.

2.You’ll be asked to confirm. Tap Yes.

Note: Scheduled arming and disarming of your system will override any manually set or IFTTT or Alexa triggered arm and disarm settings. 

In order to record motion events, you must have motion detection enabled for a specific device by tapping on the Running Man icon from the home screen or enabling motion detection in the device’s setting screen. Learn more about understanding motion detection.

Deleting a System

Use this article to understand how to delete a system.

System basics

Blink devices work together as part of a system. Each system can manage up to ten Blink devices.

When you delete a system, all of its devices are deleted, and an email is sent to the account owner. Use this to quickly remove items from your account, for situations such as selling a device or replacing an existing device.

Deleting a system will not delete any previously saved clips within your storage location.

To delete a system

1.From the Home screen, tap Settings  to view system settings.

2.Tap Device and System Settings.

3.Tap the name of the system you wish to delete.

4.From the System screen, tap Delete System, and then tap DELETE in the confirmation popup.

After confirming, you are returned to the Settings screen and the system has been removed.

Empty system

Empty systems contain no devices and is ready to either have devices added to it or be deleted.

If you delete all devices from a system, or have an incomplete setup after creating a system name, it is found in App Settings > Device and System Settings.

Link to Alexa
Use this option to directly open your Alexa app in order to enable voice alerts and voice control for your devices. Learn more about Alexa.

Neighbors App
The Ring neighbors program and mobile app is available to customers. The app and more information can be accessed from https://ring.com/neighbors.

Manage Mobile Devices
To ensure only authorized people can access a Blink account, the account owner can view and control all additional devices that access their account within the Blink app.

Enable Crash Reporting
If the Blink app suddenly stops working, use this toggle to control the sending of crash reports.

Grant Blink Support Account Access
Enable this toggle to give the support team access to your account for up to 14 days. Learn more about granting access to your Blink account.

Sign Out
Use this option to sign out of your Blink account.

Delete Account
Tap this button to delete your account. If you delete your Blink account, you lose access to clips that are stored on our systems, as well as access to any Blink devices through the Blink app. Learn more about how to delete your account.

How To SetUp JXLCAM Camera (Ultimate Manual)

Start the JXLCAM camera

Local mode

When there is no WiFi in the environment, AP mode can be used for connection. The effective distance of this mode is no more than 10M.which can realize localized video viewing.

Open your phone’s WiFi list and connect to B/xCCQ……. After success, open the APP page and click AP as shown below to watch the video.

Remote mode

1. First, confirm that there is available WIFI signal near the device, turn the device on, the blue indicator light flashes quickly, and the device enters the state to be connected. (Note: only support 2.4G band WIFI signal)
2. Unable to connect successfully when power is low.
3. When connecting to the network, place the device as close to the router as possible. If the nearby available WiFi signal is weak, the connection cannot be successful or the screen will be closed after successful connection.
4. open the APP JXLCAM and follow the steps below

2. Click “AP add Camera”

3. Click “…” to connect to the local 2.4G WIFI band, enter the password. and then go to the next step.
