This is a user guide for CMSClient version V1.00.00.47, it’s applied to software version is equal or newer than V1.00.00.47. If you are running older version (e.g. V1.00.00.46, V1.00.00.45), please download and upgrade your existing one to the latest. It should be noted that Yoosee has no app be compatible with Windows smartphone. If you have a smartphone running Windows OS, obviously you can not use Yoosee camera. The Yoosee software team will not release App for Windows based smartphone.

What CMSClient does?

CMSClient provides users a centralized video surveillance solution. It allows users to manage multiple cameras simultaneously, users can preview, record, playback, even receive alarm alerts by using it.  Users also can change yoosee camera’s network settings (such as IP address, gateway, DNS), can shift recording video resolution from SD to HD, can modify camera’s password.

Installation of CMSClient software

The software doesn’t contain any virus, if your anti-virus software report virus warning, please check if you have downloaded the software from official website. The software requires permission to access your network/Internet, it uses RTSP stream protocol to communicate with cameras locally, and P2P protocol to communicate with Internet cameras. When installing the software, ensuring it allows to pass Windows firewall.  The software will keep communicating with remote servers intending to establish P2P connection, it doesn’t spy your video, doesn’t transmit/upload any video clips to remote servers.

Logon CMSClient Software

CMSClient software now allows users to login through three different types of account.

• Admin login: local login, don’t require users to register an account. No need to input password, click “OK” to login immediately. The software can automatically discover local cameras, but can not discover Internet cameras.
• Phone Number login: remote login with your registered yoosee account, after logon, the software will list added cameras in your account.
• Mail/user ID login: remote login with your registered yoosee account, after logon, the software will list added cameras belongs to your account.

Moreover, select either “Phone number login” or “Mail/user ID login”, the software can receive motion detection (or sensor triggered) alert to computer. When motion detection alarm occurs, the software will pop-up a new window automatically to alert users, it also can play selectable audible automatically to remind users.

How to add Yoosee Cameras?

After logon, CMSClient will automatically discover local connected cameras, click “Add all” to add them into your software. Please note the displayed p2p password and rtsp password default is “qwe123”, it’s an incorrect password, just ignore them.

Except adding automatically, users can click “+” icon on the left bottom to manually add cameras. In “Device manager” window, local connected cameras will be listed on the left column, click “>>” button can add to software which will appear in right column. Click “Manual add device”, you can add local connected cameras via entering device ID, device password, RTSP password. Click”Add shared device” to add cameras as a guest user. How to use CMSClient software?

Once you added devices to software, you’re able to use each functions of it. Select device you want to manage, right click mouse will pop-up a menu list.

• Device property: change camera name, device password, rtsp password and group.
• Delete node: delete camera from this list/software.
• Start monitoring: start to preview real-time video (if it shows you a crying face, it means password is incorrect)
• Smooth/standard definition/high definition: before click start monitoring, you should choose default image resolution, smooth equals low resolution, standard definition equals VGA (640×480), HD equals 1280×720 or 1920×1080.
• IPC config: you’re able to tweak camera’s network settings (e.g. IP address, DNS), record video resolution (SD, or HD), password.  It only works on the premise that your camera’s password is correct. If you encounter “network timeout” “permission error” “password incorrect” error, to solve this, you need to logon software with yoosee registered account.

CMSClient Playback Function

You’re able to playback recorded video clips right from your computer. The CMSClient can only allows users to play remotely and locally recorded video clips, but also can allow you convert them to friendly .mp4 files which can be recognized and played by regular media players.

Click “Search” button on the left top, the camera can search files, click the file name to playback. Additionally, you can click folder icon to open a file to play it. All yoosee camera will record video with .av file extension. These raw files can not be recognized or played by regular media players, you can use the converter which the software has included to convert .av files to .mp4 files.

CMSClient software is a powerful video surveillance management tool, it includes other function to provide a great flexibility. Click gear icon on the top of software, it will pop-up a “CMS config” window.

• File save path: select the folder path to store recorded video footage.
• Reserve space: allowing users to modify reserved space for video storage in your HDD.
• Record time for package: the time length to patch a video file when recording video. If the value is “60” min, the software will patch/generate a video file in every hour when software is recording on computer.
• Cycle record: turn on/off over-write function, automatically erase/overwrite HDD when space is full.
• Auto start record when monitoring: record video while watch video stream.
• Connect all of device automatically: automatically display video for all cameras/channels after logon software.
• Render mode: Directdraw, GDI
• Monitor: auto, rtsp, p2p
• Message notification: choose whether receiving message notification or not when there is a motion detection alarm.

If you logon software with registered yoosee account, the software will have “Alarm trigger” option. This open allows you to select time length of pop-up video when alarm occurs. You’re able to choose different audio files, the computer will play the audio to remind users.

Upgrade Device Firmware

For a device added via IP/Domain, its new version can be detected by the Mobile Client. Once detected, you can upgrade the device to its latest version.

1.Enter the Device Information page.

• On the device list page, if the page is in the list mode, swipe the device name to the left and tap .

• On the device list page, If the page is in thumbnail mode, tap the device name or tap .

• On the Live View page. Tap  and then tap Settings.

2.Tap  > Device Version to enter the Device Version page.

3.Tap Upgrade and then tap UPGRADE on the pop-up window.

The Mobile Client will download the upgrade file first and then start upgrading the device.

You can also enable the Mobile Client to automatically download the upgrade file in Wi-Fi networks once a new device version is detected. For details, see Auto-Download Upgrade File.

UPDATING FIRMWARE

Hikvision regularly updates the firmware in our products to resolve potential issues and keep your system running smoothly. Below, you can find guidance on how to update your system accordingly.

Updating Hikvision IP Camera Firmware

To upgrade the firmware of a Hikvision IP camera, please follow the steps below:

1.Locate the appropriate firmware by clicking this link

2.Click on the firmware, then click download.

3.Agree to the license terms and conditions when prompted.

4.Locate the downloaded firmware file (this typically will be in the default download folder, unless prompted for a download location, then choose Desktop) and extract it by right-clicking on the file and selecting extract all or unzip. When prompted for an extract location, choose Desktop to extract the final file to. A file labeled DIGICAP will appear on the desktop.

5.After the file is extracted, log into the camera using Internet Explorer or Firefox web browsers. If prompted to install the plugin (or to allow the plugin to run), follow the prompt to proceed with the upgrade procedure.

6.Log into the camera using the administrator username and password, then go to the Configuration tab. In this tab, go to Basic Configuration then System, and then click on the Maintenance tab.

7.On the bottom of the page under Remote Upgrade, press the Browse button to locate and choose the firmware file, which was previously saved on the Desktop. After selecting the file, click Open, then click Upgrade.

8.The camera will display a prompt that a reboot is necessary to complete the upgrade. Click OK. The camera will reboot when the firmware is successfully upgraded.

Upgrading Hikvision DVR/NVR Firmware

To upgrade the firmware of a Hikvision DVR or NVR, please follow the steps below:

1.Insert a USB flash drive into the computer’s USB port (Please note that the USB flash drive does not need to be empty; it may contain other files and documents).

2.Locate the appropriate firmware by clicking this link

3.Click on the firmware, then click download.

4.Agree to the license terms and conditions when prompted.

5.Locate the downloaded firmware file (this typically will be in the default download folder, unless prompted for a download location, then choose Desktop) and extract it by right-clicking on the file and selecting extract all or unzip. When prompted for an extract location, choose the USB flash drive (typically labeled by letters E, F and so on) to extract the final file to. A file labeled DIGICAP will appear in the USB flash drive.

6.After the firmware has been extracted (unzipped), remove the USB flash drive from the computer and insert it into one of the available USB ports on the DVR/NVR unit.

7.On the DVR/NVR, go to the Main Menu, and then go to Maintenance.

8.From the sub-menus on the left click Upgrade. This will display the content of the USB flash drive.

9.Choose the DIGICAP file and press Upgrade.

10.An information window will pop up prompting that the unit will reboot after the upgrade is complete. Click YES.

11.To verify that the firmware has been upgraded, after the DVR/NVR is rebooted, go to the Main Menu, and then go to System Information. The current firmware version will be displayed.

3.Create a tunnel into your Hikvision device.

6.Use the file navigator window that pops up to select the digicap.dav file you downloaded earlier

The actual upgrade will take up to 10 minutes and the device will automatically reboot at the end of the upgrade process.

In other countries, ANPR is also referred to as Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) and, simply, License Plate Recognition (LPR).

Factors Impacting Your ANPR Camera Setup

There are a number of fundamental components that make any ANPR Camera setup successful. These include:

Of these three, we see that camera setup holds the most potential for improvement for businesses and consumers to significantly bolster their ANPR results. We draw this conclusion because we know that our Plate Recognizer ANPR engine has been thoroughly tested and optimized to handle blurry, low-resolution, and dark images as well as other aspects of the real-world environment.  Feel free to reference the results of our ALPR benchmarking exercise. 

Further, counter to claims from camera manufacturers, we see that a modest, mid-range or even low-end IP camera performs just as well as a high-end, expensive camera.  Of course, no LPR camera vendor is going to admit this because they need a way to justify their existence.  As a side note, we even have customers running our software with existing CCTV cameras.

From our years of experience supporting and helping clients troubleshoot their license plate recognition systems, we have observed how the proper camera setup along with a strong ANPR engine can be an effective solution to detect and decode vehicle license plates.  This article offers specific tips and suggestions on how to best set up your camera to maximize your ANPR.

Before You Begin, an Important Note

With your ANPR Camera Setup, please keep in mind that if your eyes can easily read a license plate through the camera, our ANPR engine can too. However, if you’re squinting and struggling to see the license plates, our engine might find it challenging as well. Visual clarity is the key. A clear view means accurate reads.

Camera Zoom For The Best ANPR Systems

When it comes to zooming the camera for best ANPR, it is important to avoid having a high-level view of the overall parking lot or site.  This is called under-zooming, where the camera is capturing an overall wide-angle view of the landscape.  So the above two images are not set up correctly for best ANPR results.

For beginners handling license plate recognition, there is a common misconception that a wide-angle shot is the best.  Cameras will seek to aim wide across parking lots rather than towards entrance or exit points which allow them to truly pick up plates and get a good read. 

To address this, adjust the camera positioning and zoom in on the ingress and egress areas of the parking lot.  Rather than have a wide-angle view of the street with all the homes around it, it is better to focus on just the street itself where cars are driving by.

In the photo below, the left image shows a wider angle of the gate entrance. For best practices ANPR, it is important to zoom the camera closer to the gate.  Again, if the camera can see the vehicle plate well, then our ANPR engine ought to do a very good job of reading the plate.

If you are in an area using CCTV cameras, Plate Recognizer’s software may still work. While CCTV cameras are typically on the lower end of the quality spectrum, they may still be suitable to capture vehicles moving at low speeds.

ANPR Camera Setup: Ideal Camera Distance 

The maximum advisable distance between the camera and the vehicle is 35 meters.  Actually, whenever possible, it is preferred to minimize that distance.  Why? Minimizing the distance between the camera and the vehicle helps ensure that the camera can easily focus without the need to zoom in on the target vehicle.  This helps reduce image blurriness.

When you place the camera far away from the vehicles it needs to read, you will need a camera with very strong zoom capabilities. The more the camera uses the zoom, the harder it is for the images to come out clear and crisp. 

Another cause for blurry images can be if the camera is mounted improperly, or becomes loose. Typically, ANPR cameras are outdoors and exposed to the elements so this is going to happen at some point if the cameras aren’t installed securely. This can cause the camera to move, shake or vibrate.  These small vibrations can result in image blurriness when the zoom level is high.  For example, you can test this yourself by using your smartphone camera and zooming in all the way to view a car in the distance.  Apply a small amount of movement to the camera and you can easily observe how the camera view totally changes!

We have actually tuned our algorithms and even added a new parameter called Merge Buffer to help accommodate camera vibrations.

PRO TIP: Use Your Mobile Phone to Do a Test

Before you set up the camera, use a mobile phone as a test subject. Place the phone in the position where you intend to install your ANPR camera. Set the smartphone to the number of pixels and settings of the camera you plan to purchase.  Then, just record 10 minutes of footage and use Stream to analyze the recorded video for license plate recognition.

Camera Angle To Improve ANPR

While Plate Recognizer ANPR has been tuned to support a wide variety of license plate angles, it’s always ideal to have the camera set up appropriately. In terms of angle, the setup of the ANPR camera can be positioned in two ways: slope, vertically, and horizontally.  For both cases, it is advisable to have a maximum of 45 degrees for a proper read of the license plate. 

Remember, just because you set up your camera for 45 degrees, your customers/drivers don’t always drive in a straight line!  

ALPR vendors can make outrageous claims that their software can do anything, but at Plate Recognizer, we’re not going to lie to you. There are things our software can do, and things it can’t!  Not every angle is going to be possible, and no camera is going to be a super machine that can see a license plate while bending over backward in the middle of a blizzard. 

So for example, Plate Recognizer’s ALPR engine can support up to a 53-degree tilt, and a 70-degree side angle. What it can’t do is catch a plate number at 75 degrees.

Minimum Resolution For Best ANPR

We see a lot of unsuccessful LPR due to very fuzzy images of the license plate.  This is by and large due to the fact that the camera does not have the resolution required to capture a good plate image.

While Plate Recognizer works with any IP camera, we recommend that the license plate itself must have roughly 100 pixels in width.  Otherwise, our ANPR engine may not be able to effectively read the license plate.

Since every LPR camera setup will be different, you’ll need to figure out the correct amount of megapixels (MPs) needed.  Basically, the number of megapixels required will ultimately depend on the distance of the camera to the license plate.

The width of the license plate will depend on the country you’re in.  Here are some examples:

Once you have an idea of the width of plates for your ANPR camera setup, you’ll need to figure out the MPs needed. There’s a bit of math here to calculate, so we’ll save you the headache and go straight to the answer.  

The table below summarizes the maximum distance in feet from the camera to the vehicle plate for each of the 3 major regions/countries.  You’ll note that we used 80 pixels of width for the plate, even though our ALPR benchmarking indicates that our engine can read a plate even at 30 pixels width.  We chose 80 pixels width to add some cushion–just to be on the safe side.

So net net, if you have to set the camera up at over 30 feet from the vehicle plate in the USA, then you’ll need to get a 4 MP camera or better.

PRO TIP: If the above topic on camera resolution is confusing, no worries.  Just use your eyes!  Basically, if you can see the license plate number in the camera footage with your own eyes, then Plate Recognizer’s engine should be able to read the plates, too. But if you’re having a really hard time seeing the plate–even after squinting and zooming in–then please don’t expert Plate Recognizer to do magic.

ANPR Camera Setup for Night-Time: Sufficient Infrared

If you have a great ANPR system, but no infrared (IR) light capabilities, you will have a tough time capturing plate numbers at night. This is because when it’s dark, there’ll be glare on the plate from the headlights.  If you’re using ANPR to detect crime, which often happens at night, you’d need to make sure you have good IR.

Infrared cameras utilize LED lights to illuminate the plate area with infrared light, which is invisible to humans.  Cameras with an IR cut filter automatically adjust IR light levels so that you can get consistent colored images in the daytime and black/white images at night.

Depending on the exterior lighting, you may be able to get a license plate read at night without IR, but it won’t have the same accuracy. Using IR may also help you pick up images in different weather conditions. For example, if you are in a location that gets a lot of rain, an ANPR system that relies on white and natural light will have a hard time getting accurate images. 

For optimal IR use, you’ll want to place the camera on an angle so it isn’t pointing directly at headlights. This will avoid unnecessary glare risks and ensure you’re getting a good shot of the license plate. 

If your current LPR camera doesn’t have IR, you can always buy an inexpensive external IR unit instead of upgrading your entire system. It costs around $20-25 on Amazon.  The IR technology built into a camera may also not be enough, so adding another external device can increase accuracy.

Lighting Tips for ANPR Camera Setup

By providing even lighting and strategically positioning lighting sources, you can enhance visibility and clarity, particularly in challenging environments such as parking lots, highways, or private properties.

Here are a few lighting tips based on how you’re going to utilize your ANPR setup:

For parked cars going in and out of a parking lot, the ideal lighting setup would typically involve evenly distributed and consistent lighting throughout the parking area. This helps ensure that license plates are clearly visible to ANPR cameras regardless of the vehicle’s position.

How does IR Lighting help with illumination?

IR lighting emits infrared light, which is invisible to the human eye but can be detected by camera sensors. By supplementing existing lighting sources with IR illumination, ANPR cameras can capture clear and accurate images of license plates even in challenging lighting environments where visible light may be insufficient. This enhances the overall visibility and image quality, allowing the ANPR system to reliably read and process license plate information regardless of lighting conditions.

Additionally, IR lighting helps minimize disturbances to nearby residents or drivers, as it is invisible and does not produce glare or excessive brightness. Overall, IR lighting plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance and effectiveness of ANPR camera setups, particularly in low-light or nighttime scenarios.

Many cameras come equipped with built-in IR capabilities. It’s important to ensure that the camera’s IR distance parameter is well-suited to the distance between the camera and the vehicle being monitored. This ensures that the IR illumination adequately covers the area where license plates are captured, enabling clear image capture for ANPR systems. 

However, in some cases, the built-in IR may not be sufficient to provide optimal illumination, particularly in larger or more challenging environments. In such situations, you may opt to purchase external IR units to supplement the camera’s built-in IR capabilities.

These external IR units can provide additional illumination, extending the effective range of the ANPR system and ensuring clear and accurate image capture, especially in low-light or nighttime conditions where visibility may be limited.

ANPR Camera Lighting for Highways

Highways, on the other hand, need different light requirements since cars are moving at high speeds. The lighting needs to provide sufficient illumination to capture clear and accurate images of license plates despite the fast-paced movement of vehicles. You can try doing the following:

Cloud Updating Your UNV NVR from the EZView Mobile App

Overview

Periodically updating your NVR and camera’s firmware is a great way to ensure your CCTV system is running smoothly and efficiently. This tutorial will guide you through the steps to cloud update your UNV NVR from the EZView mobile application.

Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes you have already initialized your NVR and added it to your EZView application. If you have not done so, please CLICK HERE for our tutorial section to learn how to do so.

Step 1

Open the EZView app on your phone. At the Live View screen, click on the three horizontal lines on the top left-hand side of your screen. This will open your main menu.

You will need to access your device list. To do so, click the word “Devices” in your main menu.

Device menu open, you will see a list with all your devices. When you have found the device you wish to upgrade, tap the three horizontal dots on the right-hand side of the NVR’s name. This will open the Device Menu for your NVR.

PLEASE NOTE: Typically, when there is a cloud update available for your NVR or cameras, you will see a small red dot next to the name of the NVR. In this case, no units needed a firmware update, so that red dot does not appear on the pictures. If you see a small red dot by your NVR, that means it is ready for an upgrade.

Step 2

After opening the device menu, click on the words “P2P Upgrade” to proceed to the Cloud Upgrade screen.

In the Cloud Upgrade screen, you will see which devices need a firmware update. It may be cameras, your NVR or both. In the figure below, the unit says it has the latest firmware. However your screen will show a red dot with an upgrade available. To start this upgrade, select your cameras and click “Start Upgrade (#)” at the bottom of the screen.

PLEASE NOTE: Your phone may ask you for confirmation to upgrade and restart your devices. You will click “Yes/Accept/Continue”, whichever you have on your screen. This will begin the process of upgrading your devices. Please keep in mind that your cameras and recorder will reboot and go offline for a short time. After starting the upgrade, it is recommended that you close the app for fifteen minutes to allow for the upgrade to take place.

Cloud Upgrading the Firmware of Your UNV Cameras from Your UNV NVR

Overview

Updating your camera firmware ensures that you have the latest and more functional cameras you possibly can. This tutorial will guide you through the steps needed to upgrade your cameras via the cloud from your UNV NVR.

Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes you have already initialized your NVR and connected it to the internet. If you have not yet done so, please CLICK HERE for our tutorial section to learn how to do so.

Step 1

Right click anywhere on the Live View screen. A small pop-up menu will appear. At the top, click “Menu.”

Step 2

Sign into the admin account using the username of ‘admin’ and the password you created while initializing the device.

Step 3

Once you have signed in, you will be greeted with the main menu of the NVR. On the left-hand side, click “Camera”.

In the submenu, click “Camera”.

At the top of the screen, you will have three tabs. Click the “Advanced” tab.

Step 4

Select the cameras you want to update by clicking the checkbox next to the camera’s name. You may also select the top checkbox to select all cameras.

Step 5

Once you have selected your cameras, click ‘Chew New Version” at the bottom of the screen.

Step 6

If there are upgrades available, the “By Cloud” button will light up. Click the ‘By Cloud” button to begin your upgrade.

Step 7

You will be prompted to confirm the upgrade to your cameras. Please be aware that your cameras will need to reboot in order to complete their upgrade. Please allow for up to 15 minutes for your cameras to upgrade and reboot.

Cloud Upgrading Your UNV NVR/Cameras from the Web

Overview

Keeping your UNV NVR and cameras up to date is a great way to ensure that your unit runs smoothly and efficiently. This tutorial will guide you through the steps needed to cloud upgrade your UNV NVR and cameras.

Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes you have already initialized your NVR and added it to your EZCloud account. If you have not done so already, please CLICK HERE to visit our tutorial section on how to do so.

Step 1

Navigate to your NVR on your web page. You can do this by accessing it via the EZCloud or by the local IP address. If you are unsure how to do this, CLICK HERE for a tutorial on how to do so. Please keep in mind that if you access your NVR via the local IP address, it will ask you to log in. This log in is the same username and password you created for your NVR directly.

As you can see in the figure below, this particular NVR was accessed via the EZCloud, meaning no password was needed to log into the unit.

Once you have reached the Live View screen, click on the word “Setup” at the top of the screen.

Step 2

Once you’re in the setup menu, you will see several options on the left side of your screen. Please click on the “Maintenance” menu to proceed.

Once you have clicked on the Maintenance menu, you will see a small submenu appear. Click on the “Maintenance” submenu to proceed.

Once you have entered the Maintenance submenu, look at the top of the menu. You will see four tabs available, the last one being “Cloud Upgrade”. Click there to proceed.

PLEASE NOTE: Some units with older firmware will not have the “Cloud Upgrade” tab. However, you can still cloud upgrade your firmware. Instead of looking for the tab at the top, look in the maintenance submenu and find a button that says “Check” or “By Cloud”, depending on what firmware you have. This will allow you to upgrade your NVR.

Step 3 (Updating your NVR Firmware)

Once in the Cloud Upgrade tab, you will see two options.

Device Type: This is where you will pick which piece of hardware you want to upgrade. By default, this is set to NVR, meaning you will be upgrading the firmware on your NVR. For the IP screen, skip to Step 5.

Cloud Upgrade: This is where you will check for Updates. To do so, click the “Check for Update” button.

Step 4

If there is a firmware upgrade available for your NVR, you will be prompted with the screen below. To upgrade your NVR’s firmware to the latest version, click “Upgrade”.

Step 5 (Updating your IPC Firmware)

To upgrade your IP Cameras, first select “IPC” for the “Device Type” Row.

Once you have selected “IPC”, click “Check for Update” in the Cloud Upgrade Row.

If your cameras have an upgrade available to them, you will see this reflected in the “Firmware Version/Latest Version” box. As you can see in the figure below, out of the three available cameras, only one has an upgrade, while the others are up to date.

On the left-hand side of your screen, make sure to select all the checkboxes for your cameras. This will ensure that any cameras that need an upgrade will be queued for one.

There are two options for finalizing the upgrade. You may click “Batch Upgrade” in the Cloud Upgrade Row, or you may click the Cloud Upgrade icon in the “Cloud Upgrade” column on the bottom right of the below figure. Typically, if you have multiple cameras with available upgrades, it’s easier to click “Batch Upgrade”.

Step 6

Once you are sure that all available cameras are selected for an upgrade and have clicked the upgrade button, you will see a message pop up on your screen. This message is to confirm that you wish to upgrade your IP Cameras. Click “Okay” to proceed.

PLEASE NOTE: After beginning the upgrade for your cameras, they will need time to update and restart. We recommend leaving the system alone for fifteen minutes to allow for all upgrades to take place and for the devices to restart.

Updating the Firmware of your UNV NVR via the Cloud

Updating the firmware for your UNV NVR is important to maintain a functional and healthy system. This tutorial will guide you through updating the firmware of your NVR via the cloud.

Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes you have already initialized your NVR as well as connected it to the internet. If you have not done so, please CLICK HERE for our tutorial section to learn how to do so.

Step 1

Right click anywhere on the Live View screen. A small pop-up menu will appear. At the top, click “Menu.”

Step 2

Please Note: You will be greeted with a popup box that will ask for confirmation. When upgrading your NVR, your NVR will need to reboot. Once clicking “OK”, allow up to ten minutes for your NVR to upgrade and reboot.

How to add the camera

Warm Tip: This product only supports 2.4 GHZ WIFI. Before adding devices, make sure that your router is 2.4 GHZ WIFI, and your mobile phone is connected to 2.4 GHZ WIFI.

First, connect the camera power supply. After about 40S, you will hear the device tinkling sound. If you do not hear the tinkling sound, please press RESET 10S at the device base. If the equipment does not have audio, please judge by time.

Note:

1. Please use the power adapter matched with the camera to avoid damage to the equipment.
2. Don’t plug in wiring for power-on equipment; (After plugging in wiring, you can’t configure WIFI with one key)
3. One-click configuration WIFI only supports some models, and some models do not support one-click configuration WIFI.
4. Box camera, Dome camera and other models use connection hotspots to configure WIFI. See AP connection operation instructions for details.

Wired connection (only applicable to the equipment with internet access)

(1) Please connect the network cable and the equipment cable interface. The other end of cable connects the router, and the camera is on, waits the startup and completes the self-inspection (If you fail to self-check, please press the recovery key for a long time to restore the factory settings.).

(2)Click “add camera” on APP’s main interface to select “add UID by scanning QR code” (QR code above XXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX out of the machine body) or “LAN search UID” after the mobile phone connects the WIFI.

(3) Click the modelxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxx of camera occurred in the camera list.

⑷ Return to the camera list by clicking “√”, then the camera is displayed online, and conduct the preview by clicking the camera.

Wirelss Installation(only for devices with WIFI modules)

After installing the mobile phone software, the mobile phone connects to WIFI, clicks Add Camera >Wireless Installation> Enter WIFI Password >Do you hear the sound? The system will be equipped with WIFI if it has been selected properly. When the WIFI configuration is successful, there will be voice prompt. (If you don’t have audio equipment, please see the picture prompt)

(1) Network Camera in Network; Select the corresponding UID

(2) Enter the camera password (the default password for the camera is admin).

(3) Click the completion button in the upper right corner to complete the addition of the camera.

Hot-spot connection (only suitable for devices with WIFI modules)

(1) The camera is powered on and waits for the completion of the self-inspection (if it fails to do so, press the recovery key for a long time to restore the factory settings).

(2) Open the WIFI search, choose the name of WiFi beginning with IPCAM-xxxxx, and enter the original password 01234567 (if you change your password, enter your modified password) as follows:

4G Connection (only for devices with 4G modules)

Video playback and Download

Warm Tip: To watch and download remote videos, SD cards need to be inserted, while local videos are saved in the APP installation device.

1. Select the local or remote video to play, and control the playback speed. For example, select the local video, as shown in the figure:

Click on the video file in the video list interface, then click on download, the video file will be downloaded automatically. The downloaded video file will be saved in the local video-download interface. After the video download is completed, you can click on continue to download, continue to download other video files, or click to view, and automatically jump to the download record. ⑴Linear input and microphone input settable.

⑵When the audio input type is microphone input, the input volume and output volume are 80 and 95, respectively, and some models are 14 and 9.

⑶When the audio input type is linear input, the input volume and output volume are 10 and 95, respectively.

2.Video Setting

⑴Bit Rate

The rate of the first bit stream and the second bit stream of the device can be customized.

⑵Frame rate

Frame Rate of First and Second Bit Streams of Customizable Devices.

⑶Image quality

1-6 can be set, default is 1, the smaller the value, the better the image level, the larger the bit stream.

⑷Video format

50 Hz and 60 Hz settable.

Send e-mail to QQ e-mail as an example:

1. Smtp Server: smtp.qq.com

3.Encrypt Type: SSL

4.User Name and Password Fill in QQ Account and Authorization Code

5.Send To: Mailbox for Receiving Alarm Pictures.

6..Sender : Sender’s mailbox address, here is QQmailbox, for example.

QQ mailbox address should be filled in; (same as user name).

Local Picture

1.Click on the icon and enter the local picture sub-ID of the picture playback interface to save the click Edit to delete the picture.

Camera list display mode

Click the camera list interface icon  to select the camera list in large or small image mode.

Sidebar settings

Click the camera list interface button, or swipe the screen to the right in the camera list interface to enter the APP sidebar. The APP name is displayed on the sidebar. the below displays APP version.

• Local file

Click Local File to enter the local file interface. This interface displays all the local videos and pictures saved by this camera on this phone. Click on the file to playback the video file or view the local picture. Click the Edit button to delete the file.

• More

Click the More button to check whether the APP has obtained the notification permission of the mobile phone. If the display is not enabled, the APP cannot send the alarm push message. Clicking enabled, you can jump to the setting interface to open the notification permission.

Video/Image search and view

Local recording playback and download

Find the camera to be viewed in the camera list interface, click the icon, select the recording page, the recording file will be displayed, you can sort according to the size and length of the video file, click the button, you can save the video file to the mobile phone album. Click the edit button, it can delete the selected video file.

View local snapshot images

Click on the image page in the local file interface, the local snapshot images will be displayed, the images will be sorted according to the capture time, click the preview thumbnail to view the image, click the button, you can delete or save the image to the album.

Remote video playback and download

Remote video playback

Click the button “camera list interface” to enter the remote recording list interface. The APP searches for the last 6 hours of video files by default. You can customize the sorting according to the recording time, click the video file, and then click play to playback the video files in the SD card of the device.

Remote video download

Click on the video file in the recording list interface, and then click Download, the video file will be downloaded automatically. The downloaded video file will be saved in the local recording interface. After the video download is completed, you can click to continue downloading, continue to download other video files, or click view, will jump to the local recording interface automatically.

Remote video search

Click the button on the recording list interface, the search option appears, you can select the recording search range as needed.

Display the WIFI network connected to the current device

Click to get the wireless network around the device, the device will search for the WIFI network in the current environment automatically; select the password to configure the WIFI of the current device.

Change password

The access password of the camera can be modified. When ticking display password, the password will be visible.

1.Motion detection alarm

2.Sound alarm

Select On to indicate that the device with microphone function. When the surrounding sound is greater than the intensity of the device check sound, trigger an alarm, click to adjust the sound alarm, you can adjust the sound alarm sensitivity

Alarm Linkage

• Alarm capture to SD card

Select On to indicate that the alarm capture picture is saved to the SD card.

• Alarm recording to SD Card

Select On to indicate that the alarm recording file is saved to the SD card.

• When the alarm is triggered, the device issues a siren

Select on to indicate that when alarming the camera will sound an alarm. Siren type and the duration of the siren is optional

Email alarm linkage

Select On to indicate that the device will trigger the alarm and send a picture to the mailbox. Click Configure Email to set the mailbox information.

Send an email to the QQ mailbox as an example:

Smtp server: smtp.qq.com

Port: 465

Secure connection: SSL

Username: QQ number of the outbox

Password: Authorization code of the outbox QQ mailbox

Receiving address: the mailbox that receives the alarm picture

Sender address: sender email address, here is the QQ mailbox as an example, you need to fill in the QQ email address (consistent with the user name). Subjects and content can be filled in casually. After filling out, click the Apply button, then click the Test button to check if you can send an alarm email.

FTP alarm linkage

1.Alarm recording is saved to FTP

Select On to indicate that the alarm recording file is saved to FTP.

Select On to indicate that the alarm capture image is saved to FTP.

Click Configure FTP to set FTP information.

Function description of live broadcast interface

Ordinary camera interface

The ordinary camera monitoring interface is displayed in the small screen mode by default. The function selection button is displayed at the bottom of the screen. More function keys can be called to slide to the left in the blank space. The function description of the buttons is shown in the figure below.

Note: Some functions require device support

PTZ function:

For devices with PTZ function, use your finger to swipe the live video, the camera will rotate according to the direction of the finger.

Exit the live interface:

Press the blank space and pull down on the small screen interface or click the back button to exit the live interface.

Panoramic camera interface

The panoramic camera will have different live broadcast interfaces depending on the model. It subjects to the connected model. The key function description as following:

View the camera

After adding the camera for a few seconds, wait for the camera to connect to the camera automatically, prompt the online description to view the camera video, click on the camera that displays online to enter the camera live interface.Camera status description:

Connecting: At this time, the camera is establishing a connection with the network camera. According to different networks, the connection time is different.

Online: This status indicates that the device is connected properly; click to view the video;

Not connected: This status indicates that the device is offline

Password error: This status indicates that the camera login password is wrong. Clicking on the camera in this state will pop up the Change Password dialog box.

Add camera

Install the APP, connect the mobile phone to the WIFI network, enter the APP and click the Add Device button to enter the Add Device interface. If it is the first time to use or restore the factory settings: the camera is not connected to the network, clicking the new device; the camera that has connected to the network, clicking on the device in use

New device add

After clicking the “New Device” button, power on the device, wait for about 30 seconds, confirm that the device is working, click next.

Connected to Network cable

If the device is connected to the network cable, click the “Connected Network Cable” button, the APP will search for the UID of the device in the current LAN automatically. Selecting the UID to be added and click the Add button, the device will search for the nearby WIFI signal automatically to enter the wireless configuration interface. Enter WIFI password, click “Configure wifi and add”, after WIFI configuration successfully, jump to the device list interface; if you do not want to configure WIFI temporarily, click the “Do not configure, directly add” button, adding camera fter confirmation.

Un-connected to Network cable

If the device is not connected to the network cable, click the “Un-Connected to Network Cable” button to enter the interface for selecting the network type.

Sound wave configuration network support equipment: PTZ Camera, Card type camera, Bulb camera, Small flying saucer camera, etc.

AP configuration network support equipment: Box camera, PTZ Camera, Speed dome camera, Big flying saucer camera, etc.

Sound wave configuration network

When the power is turned on, the device will enter the waiting state, and the device will send out a “beep” sound intermittently. Click Next to scan the QR code of the device UID number with the mobile phone. If there is no QR code, click Skip. Enter the password of the WIFI signal to be configured, click to start the sound wave configuration, the system will configuration WIFI automatically. After WIFI configuration successfully, there is a voice prompt

AP configuration network

When the network cable is not connected, turn on the power, click to add, the APP will search for hotspot signals of nearby cameras automatically. The hotspot format is IPCAM-XXXXXX, the password defaults to 01234567. Selecting the hotspot of the camera to be added, clicks connect. After connecting successfully, enter the device add interface, click Add, enter the wireless configuration interface, enter the router’s WIFI password, click “Configure wifi and add”, after WIFI configuration  successfully, jump to the device list interface; if you do not want to configure WIFI, click the button ” Don’t configure, add directly”, add camera after confirmation.

Note: AP configuration network needs to open the phone’s GPS function first.

Add device in use

Scan QR code

Generate a QR code by using the online QR code generation tool, and then scan the QR code through the mobile APP to scan and add.

Search for nearby devices

1、Click the button “Search for nearby devices” to search for the ip camera in the wireless network where the phone is located, and select the corresponding UID.

2、Enter the camera password (the camera default password is admin)

3、Click the button “Add” to add a camera.

Delete camera

In the device list interface, long press the camera to be deleted or click the button “setting” to enter the camera setting interface, click the button “delete device” to delete the added camera.

1. Setting motion detection

If you want to monitor a zone fixed, when the zone has exception, it enables alarm, you can choose motion detection function. Settings like below.

The equipment can support 4 zones setting, you can enable it through tick the option box at the bottom of page. When enable a zone, the zone box will display on the screen, and list zone number, moving mouse to this zone box, you can drag the box to any position; also can move mouse to red box at the bottom right corner, drag it to change the size. After setting, click apply, motion detection will take effect.

2. Setting alarm Linkage

When alarm triggered, the equipment will alarm with many ways, as shown in below picture:
send alarm and pictures to email
send captured pictures to assigned FTP server
send video recording to assigned FTP server
capture a picture, then save to TF Card
Recording a video for 15 seconds, then save to TF card (including 1-3 seconds warning before video)

If you want set Email alarm, please tick ”E-mail Alarm and Send with Picture”. and then click “Email setting”

3. Setting Email

The items in above picture is mandatory fields need to fill in. If the filled content is not qulified, the setting will not be successful. After writing completed, click Apply firstly, then testing, it will reminder testing successfully when finished.

Note:

1. The server of sending email should support POP3 protocol. In order to strengthen security and reduce spam, Many mail server closed this protocol at present. So users need to check if the server support POP3 before choose mail server, otherwise the mail can not send successfully.
2. For some mail server using SSL certificate, it must enable SSL option, then can send email successfully.
3. Some mailboxes require additional security settings, such as Gmail messages, you need to log in to your google account, open to allow less secure apps in “Sign-in & security” page.

If your Gmail mailbox opened “2-Step Verification”, then you need to set up a separate “app passwords” for camera login,

If you do not know the security settings of other mailboxes, we recommended use Gmail.

4. Setting alarm time

The equipment will trigger alarm only after detected alarm in protection period. So you need to select which time to set protection carefully.

Note: When setting time, please adjust system time firstly.

How to set alarm to upload pictures and video to the FTP server

1. Setting motion detection

How to view pictures card and download video of SD

Click “SD card” button in IE home page of camera.

Page will display the date of picture and video, select date.

Images folder to store pictures, record folder store videos.

Open images folder, click the images file name directly view picture.

Open record folder, click the record file name to download video.

CAMHI IP Camera Port mapping setting method

1. Please setup the IP address to be Static IP address.

2.Please modify HTTP port number.

The device HTTP port mapping to the external network router,
“External ports”: This port is corresponding to the access requirement of outside network
“Internal Port”: port for this equipment
“Service agreement” selects “ALL”
“IP address”: LAN IP address of the camera.

NOTE:
If your router supports UPNP function, you can also use UPNP port mapping automatically.
UPNP stands for universal plug and play, if you started UPNP, once the IP camera was connected into the LAN, it will communicate with the router of the LAN.
It will request the router to open a port to forward its own port. User doesn’t need to log in the router to set the port forwarding.

users in the use of the function, need to confirm a router also is enabled UPNP; Because many router model, not necessarily can very good support UPNP, testing and supporting the router is very good with, or suggest not start the function. At present test and TP-LINK router cooperate good.

How to set presets & auto-patrol for xmartO PTZ cameras?

The xmartO WT series, DZ series and DPM series PTZ cameras support up to 8 preset points.

Definition of ‘presets’: PTZ cameras can be navigated to view different areas. Presets record the key points so you can reach the recorded poinits with one tap.

Auto-patrol: a feature xmartO developped based on preset feature. The camera patrol the preset points back and forth. AKA auto-cruise, auto-scan.

1. Set preset points

While viewing the camera, tap PTZ icon to enter PTZ menu; then tap Preset to enter preset menu. Use the joystick to navigate the camera to the 1st point, tap ‘Add Preset’ to save the point 1; then navigate the camera to next point and tap ‘Add preset’ to save the point 2…you can save up to 8 points.

2. In the preset menu, you can tap ‘Go to‘ to reach the preset points.

3. Start Auto-patrol

a) If your camera does not have optical zoom, tap the image, on right you will see the A icon. Tap the A icon the camera will start to patrol the preset points.

b) If your camera is the version with optical zoom, well it has higher level chipset inside. The Auto-patrol is a bit different. In preset menu, tap ‘Shortcut mode’, type in ’13’ and tap Go to, the camera will start to patrol the preset points.

4. Stop Auto-patrol

Tap any of the direction on the joystick will stop the auto patrol.

Tips: cameras added to xmartO NVR have the same steps. It’s similar to on the NVR. Only the NVR’s UI is a bit different and the A icon is in the middle of the joystick.

1. Download xmartO WallPixel CMS Software

2.Installation and operation  

Step 1: Run the xmartO_WallPixel_for_PC_Setup.exe installation package.

Step 2: Select the language that your system needs to use.

Step 3: Read and accept the agreement.

Step 4: Select and determine your software installation path.

Step 5: After the installation is successful, immediately run and use.

 

3. Login

3.1 Local Login

Default username: admin
Default password: no password, leave it blank

For security reason, we suggest you set a password after you are logged in.

3.2 Cloud Login

Use the app account: Enter the username + password of the app account on the cloud login interface to log in.

Register an account:Click on the registered account in the cloud login interface, enter the mobile phone number / email (if using the mobile phone number to register, you need to add the mobile phone number area code), click OK, enter the password and verification code and click Register now, after verification, you can complete the registration.

Forgot password:Click on the forgot password in the login interface, enter the registered account to obtain the verification code, enter the verification code and the new password and click OK to reset the password.

 

4. Add Device to CMS

You can add devices to the CMS in two ways:

Method 1: After adding the device using the mobile APP, directly log in to the CMS using the APP account password, and you can view the device you have added in the CMS system;

Method 2: Please make sure that your device is equipped with a network or a network cable, log in to the CMS, and click the add button in the upper right corner.

Add IP / DDNS: manually enter the device “IP / DDNS + port + channel number + device password”, select “type” according to the actual situation of the device, the rest of the information remains the default, click Finish to add successfully.

Cloud ID addition: manually enter the device “cloud ID number + channel number + device password”, select “type” according to the actual situation of the device, the rest of the information remains the default, click Finish to add successfully.

 

 

LAN search device addition: select the device management in the function bar below the system, click the interface refresh button, wait for the device to be searched, check the required device and click add (enter the device IP / ID to quickly find the need to add device)

5. Live View
The xmartO WallPixel  CMS allows you to view cameras on your computer both locally and remotely.

5.1 Main Menu Introduction of CMS:

• Playback: Click to playback videos stored in your hard drive
• Device Management: Manage your device(s)
• User Parameter: Some basic settings of CMS
• Record: Record short videos of live view cameras, videos will be stored to your computer
• Screenshot: Take snapshots of live view cameras, pictures will be stored to your computer
• Disconnect All: Turn off live view of all cameras on CMS
• Screen Number: Choose how many cameras you want to display on one screen, the CMS allows you to view up to 64 cameras simultaneously
• More Function: More basic functions of CMS, including creating user, setting password and etc.

5.2 Multi-channel Viewing
CMS allows you to view up to 64 cameras simultaneouly. So if you have multiple systems, you can view all cameras in multiple systems simultaneously on this CMS.

5.3 Record and Snapshot
CMS allows you to record short videos and take snapshots when live view cameras, videos and snapshots will be saved in your computer. You can change the storage path here as shown in the picture.

 

6. Playback
CMS allows you to playback your history videos stored in hard drive. With this CMS, you can playback videos stored in hard drive or micro SD card from all over the world. Detailed instruction as below:

a. Click “Playback” on bottom navigation, it will pop out message “Close the video being played?” Choose Yes.
b. Select a window on left(1), select a channel from the device(2), choose the Record Type, select a date(3), and click “Retrieval”(4). The CMS will start playback videos of that channel immediately. Move the cursor on the time bar at bottom to locate an exact time to replay the camera per your needs.

c. You can record short videos or take snapshots while playback videos. Videos and snapshots will be stored to your computer.

 

7. Backup 
CMS allows you to download and backup videos to your computer.
The downloaded video files are in .mp4 format, you can playback with any player.

Click “Playback” on bottom navigation, select a device channel, choose Record type, select a date and then click “Download” on bottom right. You’ll see below interface with a list of all recorded videos.

 

Videos will be saved to your computer, as shown in below picture. You can also change the storage path.

 

8. User Management

8.1 Change admin password
Click “More Function” on bottom navigation, choose “System Message” and click “Change Password”. Keep the old password blank, and enter your new password, confirm your new password, and click “Confirm” to save it.

 

Something important need to pay attention to:
If you have once installed old ESeeCloud version on your computer and plan to upgrade to this new one, you need to uninstall the old version from your computer completely, and delete related files. Then install this new version, otherwise the new one does not work on your computer.

Here is how to uninstall the old one and delete the related files from your computer:
1. Uninstall the current ESeeCloud software from your computer.
2. Go to the place where you install this software on your computer and delete the file named with ESeeCloud completely, usually it is stored here:  C:\Program Files (x86)\EseeCloud
3. Go to below path and delete the ESeeCloud file, as shown in below picture.
C:\Users\Administrator (or your username)\AppData\Local\EseeCloud
C:\Users\Administrator (or your username)\AppData\Local\EseeCloud_Data

After that, you will be asked to type in the username and password. The default username is “admin”, default password is blank. For security reason, please set a login password to prevent unauthorized access.

4. Add Device to ESeeCloud CMS

4.1 Auto add, applies to add devices in LAN
EseeCloud CMS will search the devices in LAN automatically and display them in the Device Management list.

a. Click “Device Management” in upper navigation, you’ll see your device(s) listed there.
b. Select the device(s) and click Add. Your device(s) will be added to ESeeCloud CMS. They will show on upper right.

 

c. Go back to Live View, and click on the “play button”

behind each device to preview. If you want to view cameras from all devices at the same time, simply click “All Connect” at the right bottom. Click on the “stop button” behind each device to stop previewing cameras of this device.

4.2 Manual add, applies to add devices remotely
If you want to view cameras from a remote computer, you need to add the device to your ESeeCloud CMS manually on that computer.

a. Run and login ESeeCloud, then click “+” at top right corner. Or click “Device Management” on upper navigation.

b. You’ll see below interface. There are two ways to add device to ESeeCloud: Add cloud ID and Add IP/DDNS.
Add cloud ID: Add device to ESeeCloud with your NVR’s Device/Cloud ID. It is available for local and remote access.
Add IP/DDNS: Add device to ESeeCloud with your NVR’s IP address. It is available for local access only, so if you want remote access your cameras on this computer, choose the first Add cloud ID.

c. Type in the information required and click “Add”, the device is added to this ESeeCloud CMS, you can preview the cameras now.

Note: If you are adding xmartO VR camera, please turn on the Panorama.

5. Live View
5.1 The ESeeCloud CMS allows you to view cameras on your computer both locally and remotely. Please refer to below image for basic introduction of buttons.

5.2 It allows you to view up to 64 cameras simultaneously.

5.3 It supports all xmartO security camera systems and VR cameras. You can turn on panorama for VR cameras here, and also you can turn on the auto cruise.

6. Playback
The ESeeCloud CMS allows you to playback your camera videos. With this CMS, you can playback videos stored in hard drive or microSD card from all over the world. Detailed instruction as below:

a. Click “Playback” on upper navigation.
b. Select a window on left(1), select a channel from the device(2), choose the type(3), and select a date(4), click “Search”(5). The CMS will start playback videos on camera windows shortly. Move the cursor on the time bar at bottom to locate an exact time to replay the camera per your needs.

Note: The ESeeCloud CMS allows you to playback 4 cameras at the same time.

7. Backup (It works in LAN network only)
The ESeeCloud CMS allows you to download and backup videos to your computer.
The recorded video files are in .avi format, you can playback with any player.

Detailed instruction here:
Click “Resource Management” on upper navigation, then select the channel you want to back up, select the type and date, click “Search”, you will see the recordings on the left. Click the “Download” icon to download the videos you want. Videos will be saved to your computer.

Videos will be saved to below path in default:

/Users/macusername/cms_data/cms_video_download/

You can change the storage path here:
Click the setting icon at upper right corner, then you’ll see below box. Click the three dots to change the storage path, and click Confirm.

8. User Management
8.1 Change admin password
The ESeeCloud CMS’s default username is admin, and default password in blank, means no password. For security consideration, we suggest you set a password for CMS after logged in. Here is how:

Click the “human” icon at upper right corner, then click Change Password. Keep the old password blank, and enter your new password, confirm your new password, and click Confirm.

 

8.2 Add new user
You can add new user for ESeeCloud CMS, here is how:
Click User Management on upper navigation, then click New, you’ll see below box.
Enter a username and remark name, click Confirm. (Remark name here is your nick name.)

Note: When you create a new user, you are not asked to enter new password for this user. It uses default password blank. You can change the password after logged in.

How to view cameras on the mobile app (WallPixel)

1. Download and install WallPixel App

Download the free WallPixel mobile app from App Store or Google Play Store and install the application on your phone or tablet.

2. Creating an Account                                                                                                   

Tap the app, click “Register”, enter the required information to create an app account.
If you already have an account, login with your username and password.

After click “Register”, input your phone number or email address then the app will send you the verification code.

Check the email or text you’ve received and input the verification code.

Then you need to set a password and confirm it again. (The password should be a combination of 6-20 numbers or letters.)

At last, click “OK”,you’ll create the account successfully.

3. Adding NVR Device to App

Tap “+” at the top right corner, then tap the first option ” Wifi Camera Kit with NVR” to add your NVR device to the app.

4. Entering Device Information

Enter the required device information and click Save.

Cloud ID: This is your system’s Device ID, which can be found at the right bottom of your monitor. It is 9 digits. (NVR Device ID can also be found at NVR’s System setting – Network setting)
Username: Your NVR login username, default is admin. If you’ve set a new user for your NVR, use the new username here.
Password: Your NVR login password, default is empty, means no password, leave it blank. If you’ve set a new password for your NVR, make sure to type in the new password here.

* You can also scan to add your NVR device to the app.
a. Right click your NVR mouse, then click System setting – Network setting, click “Show QR Code”. The Cloud ID QR Code will be displayed.
b. Open the app, click + at upper right corner, then choose Scan and scan the QR Code displayed in your NVR’s network setting interface.
c. Enter your NVR’s login username and password, save the settings. Your device is now added to app. You can start live view cameras now.

5. Viewing Cameras on Phone

Once you click “Save”, the device will be added to your account and you’ll be directed to the device list page. As shown in below picture. Click the device to start live viewing your cameras.

6.View live video on mobile

Playback: You can playback the recorded videos in HDD on your mobile. Select any channel and click playback to review recorded videos of that channel.

Window: You can choose to view 1/4/6/8 cameras at a time.

Aspect Ratio:You can adjust the aspect ratio of the cameras’ image.

SD: Change live view resolution. You can select from HD or SD. HD means high definition resolution, while SD means standard resolution.

7.My account info.

Personal info: View your account information and change the password.
App setting: Some basic settings for your app.
Version: Your current app version.
Logout: Log out your current account.

How to set camera’s light mode on the NVR? (solves black night vision)

The light mode of each camera lets you select which lights to use.

Click the camera image, it will pop-out a quick menu on bottom, pls click Color & Light-Light Model.

Infrared mode: uses IR LEDs only. At night you see B&W night vision. And the camera will then automatically adjust the day & night vision.

full color mode: flood lights stay on at night, you see color night vision.(Only cameras with floodlight can do it)

smart mode: B&W IR night vision when nobody detected, flood lights automatically turn on when people detected.

How to Upgrade xmartO IP camera firmware

OTA upgrade cameras firmware from APP (for standalone cameras)

1. For standalone cameras, in the APP device list, tap “…” at upper right corner of your device, choose “Settings”. It will show a red dot if there is a newer version.
2. Tap the red dot to upgrade your camera from OTA server.

It will take a few minutes to update your camera; and the update requires your camera to have good Internet connection.

Upgrade camera firmware from NVR

For multiple-camera systems, if you want to upgrade the cameras, you will need to do it from the NVR menu with an USB stick.

1. Please download the camera’s new firmware from xmarto.com or contact customer support for new firmware

2. Copy the firmware to an USB flash disk’s root directory (not in any folder)

3. Plug the USB flash disk to your NVR’s USB port

4. Go to System setting-CH Setting- IPC Maintenance, choose the firmware from USB Storage, and click start to update the firmware of your camera.

The camera will be uprgraded and you will see a new version.

Tips: if your NVR has only 1 USB port, click Start, the NVR will start a 60-second count down. Within 60 seconds, unplug the mouse and plug the USB flash drive, your camera will be upgraded. 

How to enhance WiFi connection between cameras and NVR?

While using XMARTO WiFi security camera system, customers may experience video freeze, video lag or even “no video” issue.

This is typically caused by weak WiFi signal from cameras to the NVR.

Based on 2.4Ghz WiFi, all cameras connect to the NVR’s own WiFi, just like your phones/ tablets connect to your home WiFi router.

In line of sight, XMARTO WiFi cameras can be mounted 1000ft (300m) away from the NVR. The camera system handles distance very well.

However, like any WiFi devices, the cameras do not handle obstacles very well. Each wall reduces its WiFi strength noticeably.

How Obstacles Affect Your Signal Strength

When your wireless signal is transmitted through various materials, such as walls and windows, the signal strength is affected. Though the NVR and wireless camera may be very close in proximity, you could still notice high signal interference if the signal passes through certain obstacles. For instance, if the signal passes through a concrete wall it will be severely weakened. Please reference the below chart to see which obstacles highly affect your signal and which do not.

Based on the facts, below are some suggestions of how to optimize your cameras’ WiFi connection.

1. Select a WiFi channel with least interference for your NVR

As the only hub, the NVR’s WiFi performance is crucial. To select a least-interfered WiFi channel for the NVR, ensures its performance not affected by other WiFi devices.

This is how to,

A) In NVR’s System setting – Network setting – WiFi setting. Click “Auto Select Channel“, the NVR will automatically select a WiFi channel with least WiFi interference.

B) For Japanese customers, you can choose region MKK and channel “Other” (channel 14) to avoid some WiFi interference.

2. Place your NVR and cameras reasonably

The NVR is the only WiFi hub, all cameras are WiFi devices that need to connect to the hub. Centralize the position of the NVR so it reaches all cameras well.

Principle of placing NVR and cameras: avoid any possibly avoidable wall, in the line from NVR to cameras.  

Do not place near high voltage wires or other sources of electrical interference. Electrical interference will degrade the quality of the signal.

Below are some more tips:

 

 

If there has to be obstacles between the NVR and camera, adjust the height of camera or NVR to avoid floor. Floors are normally heavier than walls.

Always find possible open between NVR and camera, mount camera and place NVR’s spot accordingly to allow signal to pass.

Metal walls (including metal garage gate) absorb wifi signal. Use extra extendable wifi antenna to bring camera’s antenna inside the wall. This also works for heavy concrete wall.

Try to keep camera and NVR’s antennas parallel to get better signal pick-up.

3. Bring the camera’s antenna through a wall

If a camera needs to be mounted behind a wall, you may use a WiFi antenna with extension cable to pass the wall.

Search “WiFi antenna with extension cable” on retail website like Amazon, you will find a lot of options.

Mount the camera behind the wall, drill a hole, wire through the hole to bring the antenna inside the wall.

4. Take advantage of XMARTO Dream Liner WiFi Relay technology
The xmartO Dream Liner technology uses cameras in middle as repeaters. That way, further cameras connect to closer cameras 1st, and then to the NVR as a group.

How to pair a camera to an XMARTO NVR?

After you purchased an extra add-on camera, or when you want to swap a certain camera, you need to pair the new camera to your NVR.

1. Add by WiFi (for most cameras)

XMARTO’s “Add Cam by WiFi” feature makes this super easy.

1. Bring the camera close to the NVR, plug it to power.

2. On NVR screen, right click to enter main menu > Add Cam by WiFi. The NVR will search and add the new camera(s). Done.

The new camera will be added to NVR channel within a miniute.

What if: If this does not work, hold the camera’s reset button 6 – 10 seconds to bring the camera into config mode. Run “Add Cam by WiFi” on NVR.

 

2. Add with Ethernet cable (for cameras without reset key)

 Another way: pair the camera with an Ethernet Cable.

1.Plug the new camera to power. Use an ethernet cable to hardwire the camera to your NVR’s LAN port.

2. On NVR screen, right click to enter NVR’s main menu > Camera Manage.

3. In upper box, click “Refresh” button to search the camera out. The camera will be listed out an initial IP address 192.168.1.xxx

4. Click to select the camera, then click in below box to select an empty channel.

5. Click “Match Code“. The system will start to pair the camera to NVR’s WiFi.

6. Within a minute or so, the camera will be successfully paired to channel and displays image. You can now unplug the camera and mount it to where you want.

How to set a closer camera as a WiFi repeater for a camera that is out of WiFi range?

Start from Generation 3 (NVR and camera with ver.3.0+), XMARTO WiFi camera systems come with AUTO WiFi Relay.

AUTO WiFi Relay: when a camera is having weak WiFi signal. It shall come in and out frequently. Such a camera will AUTOMATICALLY find a close-by camera as WiFi repeater, connect to that camera, thus to relay back to the NVR.

First of all, to get good WiFi connection for cameras, you should decide your NVR’s location and WiFi channel well.

1. Centralize your NVR location so it reaches all cameras well.

2. Use a WiFi channel with least WiFi interference, here is how,

A) In NVR’s System setting – Network setting – WiFi setting. Click “Auto Select Channel“, the NVR will automatically select a WiFi channel with least WiFi interference.

A1: It’s set on by default. Right click to enter NVR main menu – WiFi Relay, you can see the status.Make sure Auto WiFi Relay is checked.

Q2: How can I take advantage of AUTO WiFi Relay?

A2: Since it’s an auto feature now, you don’t need to do much setting job.

Here is our suggestions:

Before mounting your cameras, simply place all cameras where you want, plug them to power, wait up to an hour to see whether all cameras can stream smoothly to the NVR. If they do, mount them; if they don’t, adjust the location of your NVR, or a certain camera, till you get a stable connection for all cameras, then mount them.

When you do the test run, most cameras shall be able to connect directly to the NVR. A certain camera that is far, or with more obstables may have weak WiFi signal to connect to the NVR. It may come in and out. When it’s coming in & out, it trys connecting to the NVR as always. If it feels hard to connect, it will find an alternative – a middle camera as repeater.

This is an algorithm, it may take up to 30 minutes for the camera to form a relay chain; and suprisingly you may find it’s a changing relationship. Maybe in the morning the CAM2 connects to CAM1, in the afternoon you find CAM2 connects to the NVR directly.

It’s not hard to understand. WiFi signal is something invisible and changing. Maybe in the afternoon you had your iPad in your room, your NVR in the living room is less interfered, CAM2 finds the NVR itself a better hotspot to connect.

After the test run, as long as you have all cameras streaming well to the NVR, you can mount them to their tested spots. (regardless how many WiFi bars they give you)

If you do have a camera that is hard to connect after adjusting other cameras’ locations, you should go ahead to mount the other cameras, then come back to this very camera.

How to enable PTZ camera auto tracking on the NVR/Phone ?

When you add the PTZ cameras to the exsisting system as add-on cameras:

Go to System setting-CH Setting- Video Detection and enable the Motion Detection Tracking

On NVR version 3.2+

1. Click the image of a camera to pop-out the quick menu on bottom. Click ‘PTZ control’ to enter PTZ menu.

2. In PTZ menu, use the joystick to move the camera to where you want. Type preset ‘1’ and save. This point is saved as preset #1.

3. Enter ‘Auto tracking’ menu, check ‘Motion detection tracking’ and ‘Home point’, type preset 1 as the home point and Apply.

The camera will return to preset 1 after the tracking.

On the phone：

Run the app, click “…” at upper right corner of your device, Choose “Device Setting”

In “Smart Detection“, Enable the Motion Detection Tracking

If your NVR firmware is earlier than 3.1.4.4, or your camera version is older than 3.6.28; you need to upgrade your camera/ NVR to obtain the auto track feature. 

1. Update your NVR version to 3.1.4.4 or higher

Online upgrade: make sure your system is getting online condition.

Right click your NVR mouse>System setting>System Admin>System upgrade, choose Online upgrade, check upgrade when download finished, click Start.

2. Download the camera firmware 3.6.28,

How to set home point for XMARTO Auto-Track PTZ cameras?

The XMARTO PTZ cameras have Auto-Track function. The Auto-Track is an AI feature that tracks activities and record.

It makes sure to record what happened even while you are not watching.

A concern comes along with the Auto-Track: would the camera track and view the wall or ground, and never come back to the entrance it was watching?

You can set a home point for the PTZ cameras. The camera will return to this key point after each track. 

Follow below steps, you can set your default view point.

1. Set Home Point On APP

While viewing the camera in App, tap PTZ and use the joystick to move the camera to watch the spot you want. (such as an entrance)

Then tap Preset to enter preset menu.

In Preset menu, tap the + sign to add preset points.

The 1st preset point will be the home point.

The camera will return to this point after each track.

Tap the Edit sign, you can delete and change preset points, including the 1st home point.

2. Set Home Point in NVR Menu

If your camera is used with a NVR, you can also set the home point in NVR menu.

a) while viewing the camera on NVR screen, click the image of a camera, you will see a pop-out menu on bottom. Click PTZ control to enter PTZ menu.

b) In PTZ menu, use the joystick to move the camera to where you want. In preset type 1 and save. This point will be saved as preset #1.

c) Switch to Auto tracking menu, check Motion detection tracking and Home point, type 1 as the home point and Apply.

The camera will return to preset 1 after each tracking.

NOTE:

1. If your NVR does not have this Auto tracking menu, upgrade your NVR to latest version
2. If your NVR does not have this Auto tracking menu after the firmware upgrade, set the home point from mobile App.

How to replace my old NVR without pairing each camera again?

XMARTO’s long range WiFi security camera systems have been the best sellers on Amazon during 2015 – 2016.

Many customers’ security camera systems were runnning for 6-7 years, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

With that workload, some customers feel the necessity of replacing their old NVRs, or some of their old cameras.

Is there a way to swap the old NVR out without taking all cameras down for pairing? 

The answer is affirmative. 

As you may already know, the NVR itself is also a WiFi router.

The theory is simple: each time you replace your old WiFi router, you only need to set your new WiFi hotspot name and WiFi password exactly the same as before, your devices will automatically reconnect. Same thing for XMARTO NVRs.

Here are the steps replacing your old NVRs without re-pairing all cameras:

Step 1: Record the WiFi information of your old NVR. 

As showed in below image, in your old NVR’s menu, navigate to System Setting – Network setting – WiFi setting, you will see the ESSID and password information, which is the WiFi name and WiFi password of this NVR. Take a photo to record this information.

Step 2: Revise your new NVR WiFi information to the same as old NVR’s. 

Swap your old NVR out and plug your new NVR, enter the same WiFi setting. Revise the new NVR’s ESSID & password to exactly the same as on the old NVR.

Step 3: Find your cameras back

With the old WiFi information on the new NVR, your cameras are connected with the new NVR.

Now you need add the cameras to your NVR channels.

In the NVR menu, right click – Camera Manage; click Search till you see your cameras listed in the above box. Then click ‘Add One’ to add the cameras to NVR channels.

Your cameras will be added to the channels in the below box and work as before.

 

FAQ

1. My old NVR is still working fine. Should I upgrade it to a newer one?

Not necessarily. As long as they are working fine. You don’t have to upgrade the NVR, or the camera.

    2. I plan to add the latest XMARTO PTZ camera, or solar cameras to my old system. Is it compatible?

XMARTO products are compatible with each other. But if your NVR is 960p or 1080p, they are not capable to take in the new 3MP & 5MP cameras.

Please check your NVR’s version in System admin. If you have version 3.0+, you can feel free to add latest cameras. If your NVR version is earlier than 3.0, please consider to upgrade your NVR (hardware) to the latest model.

    3. What if my old NVR does not turn on and I cannot enter the menu?

Please try to open the old NVR, unplug the 2 cables on hard drive, see if you can enter the menu to record old WiFi information.

If you cannot enter the old NVR’s menu to find WiFi info, you will need to pair your cameras to the new NVR one by one. Here is how to,

“Incorrect password” while viewing XMARTO cameras from App

The XMARTO home security systems have 2-layer of security password.

1. The NVR device password (AKA the admin password)

Each time you access the NVR menu, it requires the admin password. Without a device password, users will be locked out.

Device admin password can be set when you follow the 1st time initial setup, or at any time in System setting – System admin – User.

This is very important and we suggest you to set and remember your admin password at 1st time.

This device password (device lock) is local and it locks access to your NVR, no matter whether your NVR has Internet connection or not.

2. App login password

Like using any Internet service, using WallPixel App requires you to create an user account.

Your App user account is normally an email address or a phone number; and the password is the code protecting your user account.

If you don’t have a WallPixel App user account, tap Register to create an user account.

The App user account is different from your device admin password. They are 2 sets of combinations.

The NVR admin password is a local password locking your NVR; the App user account password is an Internet password locking access to your WallPixel user account.

3. The connection

The connection between App user account and the NVR/ camera is based on Cloud ID.

The Cloud ID is an unique ID number of a XMARTO NVR or camera. On most NVRs/ cameras, you can find a QR code indicating the device’s Cloud ID. You can also find the Cloud ID on NVR screen’s below right corner.

To access the Cloud ID corresponding device, you need to provide the device password. Without the password, you will be locked out.

As advised in the manual, when you add the NVR/ Camera to the App, you are lead to provide the admin password,

        

The password here refers to the NVR/ camera’s admin password, not the App user password.

Provide your admin password, you will be able to view the cameras remotely from the App.

If you are an authorized user by the administrator, provide your user name and your password.

4. Update device password

If you’ve changed your admin password lately, you need to update it to the App.

A few important tips

1. The default password
   If you skip setting a password for your NVR or camera, then the default password is empty.
   You leave the password area empty and tap next to view the cameras or access the menu.

   That also means, theoretically anyone who knows your Cloud ID can access the NVR/ camera. (although no one will know your Cloud ID unless you show them). So it is strongly suggested to set an admin password; as soon as you start to use the XMARTO NVR/ camera.

 2. Secondary users

If you are running a store, an office etc; in the System setting – System admin – User setting, you can add a few users with secondary permissions.

Then give those secondary user accounts to your employees. For example, you added user “JohnWayne” with password “batman”.

When he try to access the NVR’s screen, he needs to change the username from “admin” to “JohnWayne”, then enter password “batman” to access the NVR menu.

Same thing in the App. Obviously John Wayne needs to create his own App user account with his own email or phone #.

Then when he add the NVR system or camera to App, he input or scan the Cloud ID, provide his own NVR/Camera access combination, to access the NVR/ camera, with your nominated permissions only.

3. That sounds way too complicated. “I’d simply let my families know my Cloud ID and admin password so they can view” 

Not suggested. Logically, the WallPixel Cloud will take the 1st App user who added the Cloud ID as the owner.

If you have a 2nd or 3rd user adding the same Cloud ID as admin, 1 or few of you may miss some features, such as the App notifications.

The correct way is to use the Sharing feature.

a) let your families download and install WallPixel App, then create his/ her own App user account.

b) in the App, tap sharing, set sharing perimissions and valid time. Then send the QR code to your families.

c) In WallPixel App, your families scan the QR codes to add the camera/ system.  (no matter where they are)

4. “My XMARTO security system have 4 cameras and a NVR. Does that mean I have 5 Cloud IDs?”
No, when you use a XMARTO camera system, the App only takes the whole system as a single device; so it recognize only the NVR’s Cloud ID; and let you view 4 to 10 cameras simultaneously in App, just like what you see on the NVR’s screen.

Privacy tips

1. Does XMARTO know my device admin password?
   No we don’t. The device password is a local password you set in the initial setup. We cannot know that.
   If you forgot the password, the only way is to hard reset it.

   The hard reset can be done only by yourself, with the hardware in hand.
2. Does XMARTO know my App user password?
   No we don’t. Any App attempts to collect user’s password will not be approved by App Store or Google Play.
   If you forgot the App user password, the only way is to tap “Forget password” and follow steps to reset password, or simply create another user account.
3. If someone hacks my App user account, what should I do?
   That never happened. But if you believe someone hacked your App user account, the 1st thing to do is tap “Forget password” in App to reset your user password; or contact support@xmarto.com to know how-to hard reset your device password. Any of the 2 password reset will lock the access immediately.

   For standalone cameras, please change the device password in device setting; or hold reset button to reset the camera and set it up again.
   For NVR or NVR systems, the way of hard resetting password is not public. Please contact support team with your order # to learn how to reset NVR admin password.

   Relax, it’s almost impossible to happen.

How to update a uniarch NVR?

To update the firmware of a Uniarch NVR, we must enter the equipment directly or through the web interface with the administrator access data. Once inside this interface, we click Settings , then Update and finally NVR Update :

The update can be done manually, by clicking on Browse and searching for the files for the model and firmware corresponding to the equipment, or through the Cloud, by clicking on Check new version . If there is a recent version, it will be displayed in a window from where we can start this process. If there is no version available, the following message will be displayed:

It is recommended not to interrupt the update process to avoid future problems with the operation of the NVR.

How to delete EZCloud account in uniarch NVRs?

When an NVR is added to an EZCloud account, it can be seen in the list of added devices (within the EZCloud page ) as follows:

To delete this account from the NVR, you have to log in directly or through the device’s web interface using the administrator user’s access data.

Once entered, click on Configuration , then on Network and finally on Mobile Service or UNIARCH . Within this section, the EZCloud username and its status appear.

When you click Delete, a window will appear with the following message:

By clicking OK , you will start the unlink process with the EZCloud account. When this process is finished, another EZCloud account can be linked.

User management in UNIARCH NVRs

User management in uniarch NVRs allows you to set a limit on the permissions that each of them can access. To manage these functions, you must enter the recorder interface as an administrator, either directly or through the web interface (by typing the IP of the device in the browser) and logging in as shown below.

Once entering the interface of the recorder, go to configuration and then click on User.

Within this menu, the list of added users appears and above it, three buttons to add, edit or delete users. Clicking on Add appears fields where you have to fill in the access data and permissions for this new user.

Once the username and password have been entered, clicking on User Type will bring up a drop-down menu with two options: Operator and Guest.

When you select Operator , the four basic permissions boxes are automatically checked. Otherwise, if Guest is selected , these four checkboxes are unchecked, so only the basic permissions needed for the corresponding user should be selected.

Below are the camera permissions. In the permissions of two-way video/audio, PTZ control, playback and local backup, by clicking the downward pointing arrows, you can select the channels that the user in question can access.

Once we finish configuring these fields, we click on save and a message like the following will appear, redirecting us to the list of added users.

In the example below, it will be logged in as the user who was only given access on channel 1 to live view and two-way audio.

When trying to view video from another camera on any of the remaining channels, the following message will appear:

In the same way, if this user tries to modify the settings of the cameras, the recorder, or make reproductions and backups of recordings, the message will appear mentioning that he does not have the permissions to carry out this action.

Finally, if you need to modify or delete a user, first select the corresponding column and then edit or delete.

In this way, access to the functions that users have on our equipment can be limited.

Uniarch camera compatibility chart with XVR Uniarch and UNV

The objective of this article is to show the compatibility of the new analog cameras of the Uniarch brand with the XVRs of UNV and Uniarch.

As is well known, the main points to highlight for the compatibility of a camera with a recorder are:

• Resolution in Megapixels.
• Frames Per Second (FPS).
• Compatible technologies (AHD, TVI, CVI, CVBS).

In this case, due to the resolution and video technologies, there is no major problem, however, in the FPS is where some recorders differ from those of the camera, this can be reflected in the fact that the video is not displayed in live view and recordings .

This only applies to 5MP cameras since they come with 20 FPS by default, and some recorders support these FPS in a single channel or accept 5MP at 12 FPS.

For example , in the Uniarch XVR-104G2 it accepts 5MP cameras in all its channels, only in channel 1 at 20 FPS while in the other channels 5 MP at 12 FPS, for which it is necessary to change the FPS directly in the menu Camera OSD.

How to backup video on a Uniarch NVR?

This article will walk you through the step-by-step process of backing up recordings from cameras added to a Uniarch NVR.

First, we log in through the web interface of the NVR:

Within this section, on the left side there are two drop-down menus, from which you can select the type of recording and the definition configured to search for the respective video clips. Below is the calendar to select the day from which you want to recover the recordings. On the right side of this calendar, there is the time bar, in which the video will be displayed according to the time the recording events occurred.

The Record Type and Record Definition drop-down menus contain the following search options.

Once the type of recording and the definition have been selected, the equipment from which we want to observe the video clips is chosen from the list of cameras. The recording will be displayed in the time bar, indicating with different colors if the video started due to a detected event or if it was carried out normally. If we click Play, the playback of the recording starts. We can advance, delay or modify the speed of video playback.

It is very important to verify that the time on the recorder is in sync with the current time, otherwise the recordings will appear on different dates and times.

To make a backup of these recordings, click on the download icon next to the name of the selected camera.

A window will open in which we can select the camera from which the videos will be downloaded, as well as the time interval for this search. When we click on the Search button, a list of clips will appear showing the time of recording, the duration and the type of file, being able to select several boxes at the same time. Finally, we click on the Download button.

A box will appear at the top indicating the download percentage of each video clip and, later, in a bar above the playback box, the folder path and the name with which said file was saved.

And finally, clicking on the path will open the download folder with the audio clips in mp4 format.

How to configure time and motion recording on Uniarch NVRs?

The following guide shows how to configure time and motion recording on Uniarch recorders.

First, we enter the recorder, either directly or through its web interface.

Then we click on Settings

Once inside the settings, we select the Storage option. Other sections will be displayed, of which we will click on Schedule. Within this window we can select from a drop-down menu the camera for which we want to modify the type of recording and configure the seconds of pre and post recording. We must verify that the recording schedule box is on.

By clicking on Edit, a new window will open, where we will establish the hours and types of recording of the cameras as shown below.

Below, we can copy this setting to the whole week or just check the box for the days these recording times are required. Finally, when we click OK, the calendar is now displayed in different colors according to the type of event configured.

Once these changes are saved, these recording settings will be applied.

How to manage and order IP cameras on a Uniarch NVR?

● Click to edit the settings, including protocol, IP address, port

Click to remove an IP device, or select multiple IP devices and then click  Remove  .  Channels corresponding to PoE ports or switch ports cannot be deleted.

● Click to change the IP address of an IP camera and door.  The IP address of a DVS cannot be edited from the NVR. means this function is not available.

How to add a network IP camera on a Uniarch NVR?

1. Click Camera > Camera > Camera . The system automatically searches for IP devices and lists the discovered ones.

• How do I upgrade the firmware version of a Network Video Recorder (NVR)?

  • A1: Upgrade from a PC
    1. Download the NVR firmware from the banner message after logging into Vision Web Portal. Save the firmware to a known location in the computer.
    2. Access the NVR by entering the IP address of the NVR in the web browser.
    3. Type username and password to login to the NVR.
    4. Once login to the NVR,
       Click on “Setup” tab > Navigate side menu to Maintenance > Maintenance
    5. Under Maintenance > Select “Local Upgrade” tab
       Choose NVR as device type
       Click on the “Browse” button to browse the firmware saved in step one.
       Click on the “Upgrade” button to upgrade the firmware.
    6. There would be a firmware upgrade progress bar showing the upgrade process. Once it reaches 100%, NVR will reboot right after. Firmware has been successfully upgraded when NVR comes back from reboot.

• I have enabled Search People in Analytic. Why are some people not being shown in the People tab?
  Is there a limit of how many people I can run face search with?

  The reason can be that the face is too far away from the camera, or is facing away from the camera such that it will not yield a good face match result.
  There is no limit on the number of faces to be detected per customer account.

• What type of recording compression does your NVR support?

  H.264 and H.265 video compression are the compression supported by NVR.

• Is there a limit to how long the stream will stay active?

  Not at the moment.

• Are we using P2P to stream video to the cloud? When I request a live stream of video, what happens?

  Detected event videos are stored in the cloud and are accessible by the account user or administrator until they expire after 30 days. A recording playback is directly streamed from the NVR through the Bridge to the user’s browser.

• How many streams of video can I pull from one camera? What is the limit?

  20 streams per each smart series camera. When an IP camera is connected to a NVR, 3 of 20 streams will be occupied – Main Stream / Sub Stream / Third Stream.

• Can I assign permissions to the users?

  A user can be assigned permission to view cameras live, playback recording and edit cameras for the sites assigned to this user.

• Can an email be the main account for a bridge and the secondary account for a different bridge?

  No, one email address can only be associated with one account.

• How do I keep my bridge’s system and firmware up to date?

  Your Turing’s bridge can be upgraded via OTA (over-the-air). You will see a pop-up notification whenever a new version is available. To start the process, click “Upgrade” from the pop-up, or go to Settings, select the device you want to upgrade under “Devices”, and click the Upgrade button. 

• Where can I find configuration guides for legacy 3rd party camera installations?

• Cannot view 3rd party camera Live view on Turing NVR or Turing Vision but cameras show online.

  Check the encoding setting of the camera to see if you have enabled H.264+/H.265+ or any advanced compression technology. If YES, please turn it off. Advanced compression technology is proprietary and cannot be supported.

• How to add a brand new 3rd party camera into Turing Vision?

  Follow up with manufacturer’s installation guidelines to activate, setup cameras, turn on ONVIF, make sure 3rd party cameras are in the same LAN as Turing NVR. Then refer to Turing Legacy installation guidelines for the rest steps.

• Can I use the Turing NVR to Change the Third-Party camera settings?

  Generally, No. The ONVIF protocol can work with time and encoding but usually not with intrusion zone or motion detection settings. It is important to set them in both places to ensure the work.

• Do we utilize Main, Sub, and Third Stream in the Turing Vision Platform?

  Yes. The Main is for the HD streaming, the Sub is used as default up to 2*2, and Third is used >2*2.

• How long does it take for the camera settings in the Turing Vision Platform to update?

  It may take up to 5 mins to update the camera setting display here if you made any setting change on NVR or Camera. Please be patient with the updating of information to the cloud.

• Will there be any 3rd stream recommendations?

  Not exactly, usually the 3rd stream is the lowest resolution stream, compared to the main or sub stream. Just make sure the 3rd stream is lower than 720p.

• Cannot connect camera to NVR and it shows error message: user lock out.

  This is because some 3rd cameras have a protection mechanism if the user name/password is incorrect, you could either wait for a certain time period or simply reboot the camera.
