Which color palettes can I choose from?

Select your camera’s color palette for enhanced visual representations of thermal imaging. Switch between any of the following color palettes:

• White Hot: The most used palette, White Hot displays warmer objects in white and then cooler objects in black, and everything in between in a shade of gray.

• Iron Red: This is a general-purpose palette that uses a variety of colors to showcase heat distribution. Red indicates the highest temperature, with an array of colors cooling off to blue as the temperature in the image decreases.

• Black Hot: Black Hot is the inverted version of White Hot, displaying warmer objects in black and then cooler objects in white, and everything in between in a shade of gray.

• Alarm: Based off White Hot, Alarm showcases warmer objects in a white color with heat indicated by a vibrant red. This palette was designed to quickly detect body heat.

Note: Not all color palettes are suited for every situation. Select the option that best shows the thermal differences for your specific application.

How do I measure my target’s distance?

Measure the range distance between your camera and your target using the pre-set ranging modes for animals, people, etc.

• Press and hold to open the menu.

• Press or to navigate to Ranging Mode.

• Press to open the setting.

• Press to select one of the options:

◦ Wolf: Measure your distance from a wolf, with a pre-set height of 1.2 m.

◦ Customize: Enter a custom height to measure your distance from your target.

◦ Wild Boar: Measure your distance from a boar, with a pre-set height of 0.9 m.

◦ Human: Measure your distance from a human, with a pre-set height of 1.8 m.

◦ Rabbit: Measure your distance from a rabbit, with a pre-set height of 0.3 m.

• Press to confirm your setting.

• Press to exit the menu.

How do I change my camera’s measurement unit?

How do I track hot & cold points?

• Press and hold to open the menu.

• Press or to navigate to Hot Point.

• Press to open the setting.

• Press to select one of the options:

◦ Off: Hot and cold points is turned off.

• Press to confirm your setting.

• Press to exit the menu.

How do I enable fire detection?

Detect fires in your camera’s image with a red box surrounding the source. If enabled, you can set the fire detection sensitivity from high to low.

• Press and hold to open the menu.

• Press or to navigate to Fire Warning.

• Press to open the setting.

• Press to select one of the options:

◦ Off: Fire detection is turned off.

◦ High, Middle, or Low: Your camera will detect fires based on the sensitivity level.

• Press to confirm your setting.

• Press to exit the menu.

How do I enable the fire detection alarm?

Set your camera to sound an alarm when fire is detected in the image.

Note: The fire detection alarm works only when your camera has fire detection enabled on either High, Middle, or Low.

• Press to open the setting.

• Press to select one of the options:

◦ Off: Fire detection alarm is turned off.

◦ On: Your camera will sound when fire is detected.

• Press to confirm your setting.

How do I export recordings?

Export recorded images and videos from your camera’s microSD card.

• Press and hold to open the menu.

• Press or to navigate to USB Mode.

• Press to open the setting.

• Press to select Mass Storage.

• Press to confirm your setting.

• Connect the micro-USB cable into your camera’s USB port and the other end into an available USB port on your computer.

• The microSD card’s storage will open on your computer desktop. Select files to export, then copy them onto your computer.

• After exporting, disconnect the micro-USB cable from your camera and computer.

• Press to select USB Mode Off.

• Press to confirm your setting.

• Press to exit the menu.

Where does my camera store recorded images and videos?

Your camera stores recorded images and videos onto the microSD card.

What is my camera’s maximum storage capacity?

You can insert a microSD card with up to 256GB storage space.

How do I hide the icons on the top right of my camera’s image?

• Press and hold to open the menu.

• Press or to navigate to Status Bar.

• Press to select Off.

How do I change the language displayed in my camera’s menu?

How do I update my camera?

Update your camera through the microSD card.

• Press and hold to open the menu.

• Press or to navigate to USB Mode.

• Press to open the setting.

• Press to select Mass Storage.

• Press to confirm your setting.

• Connect the micro-USB cable into your camera’s USB port and the other end into an available USB port on your computer.

• The microSD card’s storage will open on your computer desktop. Copy the update program to the microSD card.

• Press and hold and at the same time for 3 seconds. A blue screen will indicate that an update is in progress.

After a few minutes the update will complete and you will see your camera’s live view image.

Where can I download my camera’s latest firmware update?

To download the latest firmware update for your camera, contact the Technical Support team.

Can I mount my camera to a tripod?

Yes, the tripod thread can be found on the bottom of your camera.

Can I access my camera’s Live View from an external monitor?

Yes, you can access your camera’s Live View from your computer by connecting your camera using the micro-USB cable.

What is the buzzer option in the app settings?

The buzzer is not compatible with your camera.

Follow the steps below to connect your thermal monocular camera to the Thermal Connection app.

Note: The frequency bands and transmitting power (radiated and/or conducted) nominal limits applicable to this radio equipment are as follows: Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz (2.4 GHz to 2.4835 GHz) 20 dBm.

Step 1 – Download the App

Download your camera’s mobile app, Thermal Connection.

Step 2 – Enable Your Camera’s Wi-Fi Hotspot

Looking into your camera:

• Press and hold to open the menu.

• Press or to navigate to WiFi.

• Press to open the setting.

• Press to select AP (Access Point).

• Press to confirm your setting.

• Press the exit the menu.

Step 3 – Connect to the App

1.Open the app.

2.Tap Switch WIFI.

3.Tap on your Wi-Fi settings, and then tap your camera’s name.

◦ Wi-Fi Name: Your camera’s Serial Number (S/N)

◦ Wi-Fi Password: The last 8–digits of your camera’s Serial Number (S/N)

4.Tap Connect WIFI.

5.Enter your camera’s Wi-Fi password, and then tap Next.

How to upgrade older TKH Security Firmwares

The latest 360v2-series cameras firmware carries “UX“ in its firmware filename, where previously “U“ was used. This change is minor and does not mean much with regards to the functionality of the firmware. However, some older “U” do not allow direct upgrade to the latest “UX“ firmware.

In these cases, an intermediate step must be taken: first upgrade firmware to the nk20210916UX version; after this, the camera will allow the firmware upgrade to the latest version found on the public download pages.

This intermediate firmware version nk20210916UX can be downloaded from here:

Prechecks

Before the update it is required that the state of the system is known. Not functioning readers, nodes and lines must be noted.

Update

Download the Backup from the maintenance page.

Upload the new iProtect™ version at the maintenance page

Go to the iProtect™ maintenance page (Click on the gear button on the login screen)
Install > Upload iProtect (1)
Click on the “…” button and select the new iProtect™ version at the maintenance page and click on the “Post” button.

When the “Check requirements” button appears, press it and a check will be done. Check the log and see what is needed to continue. This is also a good moment to install the ServicePack.

Click on the “…” button and select the ServicePack you want to install and click on the “Post” Button.

You can follow the installation process at the realtime logging, the Apache2 web server will restart multiple times, this will cause an interruption of the iProtect™ Gui and maintenance page.

You need to wait (10 minutes max) till you see the message below in the Realtime logging.

iProtect™ atlas: Installation ServicePack … finished.

Sometimes a reboot of the server is required, you will see a notification of this in the messages.

Install the new iProtect™ version at the maintenance page

Click on the “Check Requirements” button.
if the check is passed you get a “Start Upgrade” button and can start the update by a click on this button.

You can follow the installation at the User interface logging, if you see the messages below the Gui is ready and you can login in iProtect™ again (only the root user can login at this point)

You must delete browser history before logging in to iProtect.

Activating lines

To be sure all lines and nodes gets the latest software, select the system default Provisioner group.

Go to iProtect™ menu option Installation > Hardware > Line
Select System default at the Provisioner group options.

The components under the line config will automatically be provided with the latest firmware version.

Activate the line’s now, the Door controllers will get the new software and start with the installation automatically. The doors will be non-functional for 5-10 minutes. Open doors beforehand if they are critical.

Finishing the update

When all lines are updated and the re-index message is gone, you can finish the update with the button in the menu:

Installation > Database restore > Activate line

Hilook 4K NVR Device Complete Guide, For the first-time access, you need to activate the video recorder by setting an admin password. No operation is allowed before activation. You can also activate the video recorder via web browser, SADP or client software.

Chapter 1 Startup

1.1 Activate Your Device

For the first-time access, you need to activate the video recorder by setting an admin password. No operation is allowed before activation. You can also activate the video recorder via web browser, SADP or client software.

Before You Start

Power on your device.

Steps

Select a language.
Click Next.
Input the same password in Password and Confirm Password.

/¡K Warning

Strong Password recommended-We highly recommend you create a strong password of your own choosing (Using a minimum of 8 characters, including at least three of the following categories: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters.) in order to increase the security of your product. And we recommend you reset your password regularly, especially in the high security system, resetting the password monthly or weekly can better protect your product.

Activate network camera(s) connected to the device.

Check Use Device Password as Default to use the device password to activate the inactive network camera(s).
Enter a password to activate network camera(s).

Optional: Set an email address for password resetting. When you forget your password, you can reset it by email.
Check Enable.
Enter an email address.
Click Activate.

1.2 Login

- 1. Set Unlock Pattern

Admin user can use the unlock pattern to login. You can configure the unlock pattern after the device is activated.

Steps

Use the mouse to draw a pattern among the 9 dots on the screen. Release the mouse when the pattern is done.

The pattern shall have 4 dots at least.
Each dot can be connected for once only.

Draw the same pattern again to confirm it. When the two patterns match, the pattern is configured successfully.

2. Draw the pre-defined pattern to unlock to enter the menu operation.

When you forget the password of the admin, you can click Forgot Password to reset the password.
If you enter the wrong password 7 times, the current user account will be locked for 60 seconds.

Chapter 2 Live View

1. GUI Introduction
Click Target Detection at the upper-left corner, and select or to display the specified live target detection results. For result details, click View More.

HU Note

° Target Detection is only available for certain models.

° Target Detection is valid when HDD is installed.

° 0 is valid for motion detection, line crossing detection, intrusion detection, and facial detection.

Click to start/stop auto-switch. The screen will automatically switch to the next one.
Click to enter full screen mode.
Double click a camera to view it in single-screen mode. Double click again to exit single-screen mode.
Change a camera live view screen by dragging it from its screen to the desired screen.
Scroll up/down to turn to previous/next screen.
Position the cursor on a camera to show shortcut menu.

Steps

Preview a camera in live view and click 0 on shortcut menu.

Set the PTZ camera parameters.

All parameters should be the same as the PTZ camera.
For the Coaxitron camera/dome connected, you can select the PTZ protocol to UTC (Coaxitron). Ensure the selected protocol is supported by the connected camera/dome.
The AHD and HDCVI cameras support coaxitron control.
Selecting Coaxitron protocol will make other parameters unavailable, including baud rate, data bit, stop bit, parity and flow control.

Click OK.

Double click a preset in the preset list to call it.

- 1. Customize Patrol

Patrol refers to a path consists of a series of presets with designated sequence. It provides dynamic live image for monitoring several presets.

Steps

Preview a camera in live view and click on shortcut menu.
Click Patrol.
Select a desired patrol.
Click Set.
Click + .
Configure key point parameters, such as the key point No., duration of staying for one key point and speed of patrol. The key point is corresponding to the preset. The preset number determines the order at which the PTZ will follow while cycling through the patrol. Duration refers to the time span to stay at the corresponding key point. Speed defines the speed at which the PTZ will move from one key point to the next.

Click Apply.

What to do next

Select a patrol and click Call to call it. The PTZ camera will move according the predefined patrol path.

A pattern records the movement path and dwell time in a certain position. When you call a pattern, the PTZ camera will move according to the recorded path.

Steps

Preview a camera in live view and click on shortcut menu.
Click Pattern.
Select a pattern.
Click Record.
Use direction buttons to wheel the camera to required locations. Adjust zoom and focus as your desire.
Click Stop Recording. The previous PTZ camera moving path is recorded as a pattern.

What to do next

Select a pattern and click Call to call it. The PTZ camera will move according the predefined

pattern.

Play back normal videos.

Select a camera from the camera list.
Select a date on the calendar for playback.

The blue triangle at the calendar date corner indicates there are available videos. For example, means video is available. 22 means no video.

The smart playback function provides an easy way to get through the less effective information. When you select the smart playback mode, the system will analyze the video containing the motion detection, line crossing detection, or intrusion detection information.

Configure motion detection, line crossing detection, and intrusion detection rules and detection areas.

Steps

Go to Playback .
Click Smart.
Select a camera.

3.4 Back up Clip

You can clip videos during playback. Video clips can be exported to the backup device (USB flash drives, USB HDDs, USB writer, SATA writer, etc.).

Connect a backup device to your video recorder.

Add User

There is a default account: Administrator. The administrator user name is admin. Administrator has the permission to add, delete, and edit user. Guest user only has live view, playback, and log search permission.

You can receive exception events hint in alarm center, and set exception linkage actions.

Select Access Type as HiLookVision.
Check Enable. The service terms will pop up.
Scan the QR code to read the service terms and privacy statement.
Check I have read and agree to Service Terms and Privacy Statement. if you agree the service terms and privacy statement..
Click OK.
Optional: Check Stream Encryption. It requires to enter verification code in remote access and live view after this function is enabled.
Optional: Check Custom, and edit Server Address.
Enter a code in Verification Code. You can click Refresh to randomly generate a verification code.
Bind your device with a HiLookVision account.
Use a smart phone to scan the QR code, and download HiLookVision app. You can also download it from https://appstore.hikvision.com, or the QR code below. Refer to HiLookVision Mobile Client User Manual for details.

Edit Connected Network Camera

You can edit the IP address, protocol and other parameters of the added network cameras.

Steps

Click / to edit the selected camera.

Channel Port

If the connected device is an encoding device with multiple channels, you can select the channel port No. to choose a connecting channel.

Click OK.

Sort Channel Order

Channel layout windows are ordered by channel number. You can change the camera linked channel number by dragging windows.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ Camera .
Click Sort Channel.
Drag a channel window to the channel number as your desire.
Click Apply.

After sorting channels, the device will reconnect to network cameras.

Configure Remote Settings

For the camera parameters that were only configurable via web browser, remote settings function provides an operation interface to configure remote camera parameters.

Before You Start

Ensure your camera is properly connected.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ IP Camera .
Click Remote Settings
After the device resource is initialized, select a camera.
Set camera parameters.

Upgrade Network Camera

The Network camera can be remotely upgraded through the device.

Before You Start

Ensure you have inserted the USB flash drive to the device, and it contains the network camera upgrade firmware.
Ensure your network camera is on the same network segment with your video recorder.
Ensure the network connection is valid and correct.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ IP Camera .
Click O .
Click Yes to confirm.
Select the camera upgrade firmware from your storage device.
Click Upgrade to start upgrading. The camera will restarted automatically after upgrade completed.

Configure Advanced Camera Parameters

You can configure advanced camera parameters like camera IP address, camera password, etc.

Before You Start

Ensure your network camera is on the same network segment with your video recorder.
Ensure the network connection is valid and correct.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ IP Camera .
Click ® .
Set camera parameters like IP address, camera password, etc.
Click Apply.

5.3.2 OSD Settings

Configure OSD (On-Screen Display) settings for the camera, including date format, camera name, etc.

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ OSD .
Select a camera.

5.3.3 Event

Motion Detection

Motion detection enables the video recorder to detect the moving objects in the monitored area and trigger alarms.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ Motion Detection .
Select a camera.
Check Enable.
Set the motion detection area.

Click Draw Area or Clear to draw or clear areas. The first area is set as full screen by default.
Click Full Screen to set the motion detection area as full screen. You can drag on the preview window to draw motion detection areas.

The operation may differ according to different models.

Adjust Sensitivity. Sensitivity allows you to calibrate how readily movement triggers the alarm. A higher value results in the more readily to triggers motion detection.
Set analysis mode as AI or PIR.

The motion detection event will be analyzed by your device.

PIR

The motion detection event will be analyzed by certain analog PIR cameras.

Optional: Set Target Detection as Human or Vehicle to discard alarms which are not triggered by human or vehicle.

US Note

This function is only available for certain models.

Set the arming schedule. Refer to Configure Arming Schedule for details.
Set the linkage actions. Refer to Configure Alarm Linkage Action for details.
Click Apply.

Configure Arming Schedule

Steps

Select Arming Schedule.
Choose one day of a week and set the time segment. Up to eight time periods can be set within each day.

Configure Alarm Linkage Action

Alarm linkage actions will be activated when an alarm or exception occurs.

Full Screen Monitoring

The local monitor will display the alarming channel image in full screen when an alarm is triggered. It requires to select the alarming channel(s) in Trigger Channel.

Audible Warning

It will trigger an audible beep when an alarm is triggered.

Notify Surveillance Center

The device will send an exception or alarm signal to the remote client software when an alarm is triggered.

Send Email

It will send an email with alarm information when an alarm is triggered.

PTZ Linkage

It will trigger PTZ actions (e.g., call preset/patrol/pattern) when smart events occur.

3. Click Apply.

5.4 Device Management

- 1. Switch

Add and manage switches.

Quick Add Switch

Quick add switch(es) in the same network segment with the video recorder. If the switch is not activated, it will be added with the channel default password.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Device Management ^ Switch.
In the Online Device List, check the switch(es) to be added and click Add to add switch(es) in the same network segment with the video recorder using the channel default password.

Add Switch Manually

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Device Management ^ Switch .
In the Online Device List, click Add and set the parameters of the channel.

5.5 Recording Management

- 1. Storage Device

Initialize HDD

A newly installed hard disk drive (HDD) must be initialized before it can be used to save videos and information.

Before You Start

Install at least an HDD to your video recorder. For detailed steps, refer to Quick Start Guide.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Record ^ Storage .
Select an HDD.
Click Init.

Repair Database

Repair an HDD that with error in database. Please operate it with the help of professional technical support.

Secure Erase

Secure erase will delete videos in the selected disk(s).

Add Network Disk

You can add the allocated NAS or IP SAN disk to the video recorder, and use it as a network HDD.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Record ^ Storage .
Click Add.
Select NetHDD.
Set Type as NAS or IPSAN.
Enter NetHDD IP address.
Click Search to search the available disks.

7. Select NAS disk from the list, or manually enter the directory in NetHDD Directory.

8. Click OK. The added NetHDD will be displayed in the storage device list.

5.5.2 Configure Recording Schedule

Video recorder will automatically start/stop recording according to the configured schedule.

Configure Continuous Recording

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Record ^ Parameter .
Set the continuous main stream/sub-stream recording parameters for the camera. Refer to Configure Recording Parameter for details.
Go to Configuration ^ Record ^ Schedule .
Select recording type as Continuous. Refer to Edit Schedule for details.

Configure Event Recording

You can configure the recording triggered by the motion detection, line crossing detection, and intrusion detection.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Event ^ Smart Event .
Configure the event detection and select the channels to trigger the recording when an event occurs.
Go to Configuration ^ Record ^ Parameter .
Set the continuous main stream/sub-stream recording parameters for the camera. Refer to Configure Recording Parameter for details.
Go to Configuration ^ Record ^ Schedule .
Select recording type as Event. Refer to Edit Schedule for details.

5.5.3 Configure Recording Parameter

Configure recording parameters.

Main Stream

Main stream refers to the primary stream that affects data recorded to the hard disk drive and will directly determine your video quality and image size. Comparing with the substream, the main stream provides a higher quality video with higher resolution and frame rate.

Sub-Stream

Sub-stream is a second codec that runs alongside the mainstream. It allows you to reduce the outgoing internet bandwidth without sacrificing your direct recording quality. Sub-stream is often exclusively used by smartphone applications to view live video. Users with limited internet speeds may benefit most from this setting.

Frame Rate

Frame rate refers to how many frames are captured each second. A higher frame rate is advantageous when there is movement in the video stream, as it maintains image quality throughout.

Resolution

Image resolution is a measure of how much detail a digital image can hold: the greater the resolution, the greater the level of detail. Resolution can be specified as the number of pixelcolumns (width) by the number of pixel-rows (height), e.g.,1024×768.

Bitrate

The bit rate (in Kbit/s or Mbit/s) is often referred to as speed, but actually defines the number of bits/time unit and not distance/time unit.

C® Note

Higher resolution, frame rate, and bitrate provide you better video quality, but it also requires more internet bandwidth and uses more storage space on the hard disk drive.

Click Apply.

Chapter 6 Configuration (Expert Mode)

Go to Configuration , and click Expert Mode at the lower-left corner.

Configure Basic Settings

You can configure the language, system time, output resolution, mouse pointer speed, lock screen password, etc.

Go to Configuration ^ System ^ General ^ Basic Settings , configure the parameters as your desire, and click Apply.

Language

The default language is English.

VGA/HDMI Resolution

Select the output resolution, which must be the same with the resolution of the VGA/HDMI display.

Lock Screen Password

You need to enter password for authentication if the screen is locked.

Mouse Pointer Speed

Set the speed of mouse pointer. 4 levels are configurable.

Wizard

The wizard will pop up after the device starts up.

Enhanced Decoding Mode

Disabling enhanced decoding mode will reduce the local decoding capability by half and restart the device.

Configure DST Settings

DST (Daylight Saving Time) refers to the period of the year when clocks are moved one period ahead. In some areas worldwide, this has the effect of creating more sunlit hours in the evening during months when the weather is the warmest.

Go to Configuration ^ System ^ General ^ DST Settings , configure the parameters as your desire, and click Apply.

Configure More Settings

You can configure your device name, lock screen time, output mode, etc.

Go to Configuration ^ System ^ General ^ More Settings , configure the parameters as your desire, and click Apply.

Device Name

Edit the video recorder name.

Device No.

The number is required in the connection with remote control, network keyboard, etc. Edit the serial number of video recorder. The device number ranges from 1 to 255, and the default value is 255.

Lock Screen

Set timeout time for lock screen.

Menu Output Mode

Choose output to display local menu.

Enable the channel-zero encoding when you need to get a remote view of many channels in real time from a web browser or CMS (Client Management System) software, in order to decrease the bandwidth requirement without affecting the image quality.

6.2 Network Configuration

- 1. TCP/IP

TCP/IP must be properly configured before you operate video recorder over network.

Configure network parameters.

Working Mode

Multi-address Mode

The parameters of the two NIC cards can be configured independently. You can select LAN1 or LAN2 in the NIC type field for parameter settings. You can select one NIC card as default route. And then the system is connecting with the extranet and the data will be forwarded through the default route.

Net-fault Tolerance Mode

The two NIC cards use the same IP address, and you can select the Main NIC to LAN1 or LAN2. By this way, in case of one NIC card failure, the video recorder will automatically enable the other standby NIC card so as to ensure the normal running of the whole system.

Load Balance Mode

By using the same IP address and two NIC cards share the load of the total bandwidth, which enables the system to provide two Gigabit network capacity.

NIC Type

Select NIC type as your desire. If your device supports Wi-Fi dongle function, the NIC of Wi-Fi dongle would be selectable after a suitable Wi-Fi dongle is installed.

DHCP

If the DHCP server is available, you can check Enable DHCP to automatically obtain an IP address and other network settings from that server.

MTU

The maximum transmission unit (MTU) is the size of the largest network layer protocol data unit that can be communicated in a single network transaction.

Default Route

Select a route as your desire. If your device supports Wi-Fi dongle function, the route of Wi-Fi dongle would be selectable after a suitable Wi-Fi dongle is installed.

Auto Obtain DNS

If DHCP is checked. You can check Obtain DNS Automatically to obtain Preferred DNS Server and Alternate DNS Server.

Click Apply.

Two ways are provided for port mapping to realize the remote access via the cross-segment network, UPnP™ and manual mapping.

Before You Start

Enable the UPnP™ function of your router if UPnP™ is required. When the device network working mode is multi-address, the default device route should be on the same network segment as the LAN IP address of the router.

Steps

Configuration ^ Network ^ General ^ NAT .
Check Enable.
Select Mapping Type as Manual or Auto

Auto The port mapping items are read-only, and the external ports are set by the router automatically. You can click Refresh to get the latest status of the port mapping.

Manual Select an external port type. Click / to edit External Port. You can use the default external port No., or change it according to actual requirements. External Port indicates the port No. for port mapping in the router.

The value of the RTSP port No. should be 554 or between 1024 and 65535, while the value of the other ports should be between 1 and 65535 and the value must be different from each other. If multiple devices are configured for the UPnP™ settings under the same router, the value of the port No. for each device should be unique.

Set the virtual server of your router, including internal source port, external source port, etc. The virtual server parameters shall be corresponding with your device port.

Set different port types to enable relevant functions as your desire.

Go to Configuration ^ Network ^ General ^ More Settings .

Alarm Host IP/Port

The device will send the alarm event or exception message to the alarm host when an alarm is triggered. The remote alarm host must have the client management system (CMS) software installed.

Alarm Host IP refers to the IP address of the remote PC on which the CMS software (e.g., iVMS-4200) is installed, and the Alarm Host Port (7200 by default) must be the same as the alarm monitoring port configured in the software.

Server Port

For remote client software access. Ranges from 2000 to 65535. The default value is 8000.

HTTP Port

For remote web browser access. The default value is 80.

Multicast IP

Multicast can be configured to enable live view for cameras that exceed the maximum number allowed through network. A multicast IP address covers Class-D IP ranging from 224.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255 and it is recommended to use the IP address ranging from 239.252.0.0 to 239.255.255.255.

When adding a device to the CMS software, the multicast address must be the same as that of the device.

RTSP Port

RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) is a network control protocol designed for use in entertainment and communications systems to control streaming media servers. The port is 554 by default.

Output Bandwidth Limit

You can check the checkbox to enable output bandwidth limit.

Output Bandwidth

After enable the output bandwidth limit, input the output bandwidth.

CUl Note

The output bandwidth limit is used for the remote live view and playback.
The default output bandwidth is the maximum limit.

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ Camera ^ IP Camera .
Click Online Device. The online cameras on the same network segment will be displayed in the list.

If an inactive network camera or third party ONVIF camera is connected to your network, the video recorder may automatically detect and add the camera, or notify you to manually add it.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ Camera ^ IP Channel .
Click More.
Select Plug-and-Play.
Optional: Enable Auto Add Network Camera. The video recorder would automatically detect and add the inactive network camera or third party ONVIF camera.

Edit Connected Network Camera

You can edit the IP address, protocol and other parameters of the added network cameras.

Click / of an added network camera.

Channel Port

If the connected device is an encoding device with multiple channels, you can choose the channel to connect by selecting the channel port No. in the drop-down list.

Click OK.

Upgrade Network Camera

The Network camera can be remotely upgraded through the device.

Before You Start

Ensure you have inserted the USB flash drive to the device, and it contains the network camera upgrade firmware.

Ensure the network connection is valid and correct.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ Camera .
Click .
Click Yes to confirm.
Select the camera upgrade firmware from your storage device.
Click Upgrade to start upgrading. The camera will restarted automatically after upgrade completed.

Add Network Camera Through PoE

The PoE interfaces enable the device to transfer electrical power and data to connected PoE cameras. And the PoE interface supports the Plug-and-Play function. Connectable PoE camera number varies with device models. If you disable a PoE interface, you can also use it to connect to an online network camera.

Add PoE Camera

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ Camera ^ PoE Settings .
Enable or disable long network cable mode by selecting Long Distance or Short Distance.

Long Distance

Long-distance (100 to 300 meters) network transmissions via PoE interface.

Short Distance

Short-distance (< 100 meters) network transmission via PoE interface.

C® Note

The PoE ports are enabled with the short distance mode by default.
The bandwidth of IP camera connected to the PoE via long network cable (100 to 300 meters) cannot exceed 6 Mbps.
The allowed max. long network cable may be less than 300 meters depending on different IP camera models and cable materials.
When the transmission distance reaches 100 to 250 meters, you must use the CAT5e or CAT6 network cable to connect with the PoE interface.
When the transmission distance reaches 250 to 300 meters, you must use the CAT6 network cable to connect with the PoE interface.

You can use the PoE channel resource to connect a non-PoE network camera.

Plug-and-Play

The camera is physically connected to the PoE interface. You can click ® in the added device list to edit its parameters.

Set other parameters, such as user name, password, and IP address.

Configure Advanced Camera Parameters

You can configure advanced camera parameters like camera IP address, camera password, etc.

Configure Channel Type

You can disable a PoE channel to additionally increase a normal IP channel resource.

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ Camera ^ PoE Binding Configuration , and set the PoE channel as your desire.

Import/Export IP Camera Configuration File

The information of added network camera can be generated into an excel file and exported to the local device for backup, including the IP address, manage port, password of admin, etc. And the exported file can be edited on your computer, like adding or deleting the content, and copy the setting to other devices by importing the excel file to it.

Before You Start

Connect a backup device like USB flash drive to your video recorder.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ IP Camera .
Click El
Click Export to export configuration files to the connected backup device.
To import a configuration file, select the file from the selected backup device and click Import. After the importing process is completed, you must reboot the video recorder.

H.265 Auto Switch Configuration

If you enable the option, video recorder will automatically switch to H.265 stream for the network camera (which supports H.265 video format) for the initial access.

Channel Default Password Management

Change the default password of activating and adding network camera.

Configure the OSD (On-Screen Display), image settings, exposure settings, day/night switch settings, etc.

Configure parameters as your desire.

OSD Settings

Configure the OSD (On-screen Display) settings for the camera, including date/time, camera name, etc.

Image Settings

Customize the image parameters including the brightness, contrast, and saturation for the live view and recording effect.

Exposure

Set the camera exposure time (1/10000 to 1 sec). A larger exposure value results in a brighter image.

Day/Night Switch

The camera can be set to day, night, or auto switch mode according to the surrounding illumination conditions.

Backlight

Set the camera’s wide dynamic range (0 to 100). When the surrounding illumination and the object have large differences in brightness, you should set the WDR value.

Add and manage switches.

Quick Add Switch

Quick add switch(es) in the same network segment with the video recorder. If the switch is not activated, it will be added with the channel default password.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Device Management ^ Switch.
In the Online Device List, check the switch(es) to be added and click Add to add switch(es) in the same network segment with the video recorder using the channel default password.

Add Switch Manually

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Device Management ^ Switch .
In the Online Device List, click Add and set the parameters of the channel.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Camera ^ Motion Detection .
Select a camera.
Check Enable.
Set the motion detection area.

Click Draw Area or Clear to draw or clear areas. The first area is set as full screen by default.
Click Full Screen to set the motion detection area as full screen. You can drag on the preview window to draw motion detection areas.

Adjust Sensitivity. Sensitivity allows you to calibrate how readily movement triggers the alarm. A higher value results in the more readily to triggers motion detection.
Set analysis mode as AI or PIR.

The motion detection event will be analyzed by your device.

PIR

The motion detection event will be analyzed by certain analog PIR cameras.

Optional: Set Target Detection as Human or Vehicle to discard alarms which are not triggered by human or vehicle.
Set the arming schedule. Refer to Configure Arming Schedule for details.
Set the linkage actions. Refer to Configure Alarm Linkage Action for details.
Click Apply.

Video Tampering

Trigger alarm when the lens is covered and take alarm response actions.

Audio Alarm Output

When light and audio alarm camera is connected, you can set the parameters and arming schedule of the audio alarm.

Before You Start

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Event ^ Normal Event ^ Flashing Light Alarm Output.

Click S for any row.

Select the Audio Type as Alarm Sound, Prompt Sound, or Custom Audio.

When you select the Alarm Sound, you also need to select the alarm sound type.

When you select the Alarm Sound, you also need to upload the custom audio, enter the audio name and select the uploaded audio in the drop-down box of Custom Audio.

Set the Alarm Times and Sound Volume.

Exception

Exception events can be configured to take the event hint in the live view window and trigger alarm outputs and linkage actions.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Event ^ Normal Event ^ Exception .

Configure event hint. When the set events occur, you will receive hints in alarm center.

6.5.2 Perimeter Protection

Perimeter protection includes line crossing detection, intrusion detection, region entrance detection, and region exiting detection.

OU Note

Perimeter protection is only available for certain device models or camera models.

Line Crossing Detection

Line crossing detection detects people, vehicles, and objects crossing a set virtual line. The detection direction can be set as bidirectional, from left to right or from right to left.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Event ^ Perimeter Protection ^ Line Crossing .

Set Camera.

Select VCA Mode.

By NVR

The event will be analyzed by NVR. The device can analyze videos that contain human and vehicle. Only the target of selected type (human or vehicle) will trigger alarms, which can reduce false alarms that are caused by other objects.

By Camera

The event will be analyzed by camera.

Turn on Enable.

Set the detection rules and detection areas.

Set Arming Area.

Set Direction as A<->B, A->B, or A<-B.

A<->B

Only the arrow on the B side shows. An object crossing a configured line in both directions can be detected and trigger alarms.

A->B

Only an object crossing the configured line from the A side to the B side can be detected.

B->A

Only an object crossing the configured line from the B side to the A side can be detected.

Click Max. Size and draw a quadrilateral in the preview window to set the maximum draw area size.

Click Min. Size and draw a quadrilateral in the preview window to set the minimum draw area size.

Click Draw Area and draw a quadrilateral in the preview window by specifying four vertexes of the detection region.

Adjust Sensitivity. Sensitivity allows you to calibrate how readily movement triggers the alarm. A higher value results in the more readily to triggers motion detection.

Intrusion detection function detects people, vehicles, or objects that enter and loiter in a predefined virtual region.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Event ^ Perimeter Protection ^ Intrusion .

Select Camera to configure.

Turn on Enable.

Set the detection rules and detection areas.

Select Arming Area.

Adjust Time Threshold and Sensitivity.

Sensitivity

The size of the object that can trigger the alarm. The higher the value is, the more easily the detection alarm will be triggered. Its range is [1-100].

Time Threshold

Range [1s-10s], the threshold for the time of the object loitering in the region. When the duration of the object in the defined detection area is longer than the set time, the alarm will be triggered.

Optional: Set Target Detection as Human or Vehicle to discard alarms which are not triggered by human body or vehicle.

Select Camera to configure.

Check Enable Region Entrance Detection.

Check Save VCA Picture to save the captured pictures of VCA detection.

Set the detection rules and detection areas.

Select Arming Area. Up to 4 arming areas are selectable.

Click Draw Area and draw a quadrilateral in the preview window by specifying four vertexes of the detection region.

Adjust Sensitivity. Sensitivity: Range [0-100]. The higher the value is, the more easily the detection alarm can be triggered.

Set the arming schedule.

Region Exiting Detection

Region exiting detection function detects people, vehicle or other objects which exit from a predefined virtual region, and some certain actions can be taken when the alarm is triggered.

Select Camera to configure.

Check Enable Region Exiting Detection.

Check Save VCA Picture to save the captured pictures of VCA detection.

Other Events

Thermal Camera Detection

The device supports the event detection modes of thermal network cameras: fire detection, temperature detection, etc. You can configure the arming schedule and linkage actions of the selected event.

Before You Start

Add a thermal network camera to your device and make sure the camera is activated.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Event ^ Other Events .

Select a thermal camera detection event.

Set Camera.

Set the arming schedule. Refer to Configure Arming Schedule for details.

Set the linkage actions. Refer to Configure Alarm Linkage Action for details.

Click Apply.

Configure Arming Schedule

Steps

Click Arming Schedule.

Choose one day of a week and set the time segment. Up to eight time periods can be set within each day.

Configure Alarm Linkage Action

Configure Full Screen Monitoring

When an alarm is triggered, the local monitor displays in full screen the video image from the alarming channel configured for full screen monitoring. And when the alarm is triggered simultaneously in several channels, you must configure the auto-switch dwell time.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ System ^ Live View ^ General .

Set the event output and dwell time.

Event Output

Select the output to show event video.

Full Screen Monitoring Dwell Time

Set the time in seconds to show alarm event image. If alarms are triggered simultaneously in several channels, their full-screen images will be switched at an interval of 10 seconds (default dwell time).

Go to Linkage Action interface of the alarm detection.

Select Full Screen Monitoring alarm linkage action.

Select the channel(s) in Trigger Channel settings you want to make full screen monitoring.

OS Note

Auto-switch will terminate once the alarm stops and back to the live view interface.

Configure Audio Warning

The audio warning enables the video recorder to trigger an audible beep when an alarm is detected.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ System ^ Live View ^ General .

Enable Audio Output and set Volume.

Go to Linkage Action interface of the alarm detection.

Select Audio Warning alarm linkage action.

Notify Surveillance Center

The video recorder can send an exception or alarm signal to the remote alarm host when an event occurs. The alarm host refers to the computer installed with client software (e.g., iVMS-4200, iVMS-5200).

Steps

Log into video recorder in web browser.

Go to Configuration ^ Network ^ Advanced Settings ^ Other .

Set Alarm Host IP and Alarm Host Port.

In local menu, go to Linkage Action interface of the alarm detection.

Select Notify Surveillance Center.

Configure Email Linkage

The video recorder can send an email with alarm information to a user or users when an alarm is detected.

Steps

Switch to easy mode.

Go to Configuration ^ System ^ Network ^ Email .

Configure the Email settings.

Go to Linkage Action interface of the alarm detection.

Select Send Email alarm linkage action.

Trigger Alarm Output

The alarm output can be triggered by the normal and smart events.

Go to Linkage Action interface of the alarm input or event detection.

Click Trigger Alarm Output.

Select the alarm outputs to trigger.

Configure PTZ Linkage

Video recorder can trigger the PTZ actions (e.g., call preset/patrol/pattern) when the alarm event, or VCA detection events occur.

Select a camera in Camera No.

Check Enable.

Configure the recording schedule.

Click Edit.

Select a day to configure in Weekday.

To set an all-day recording schedule, check All Day and select schedule Type.

To set other schedules, uncheck All Day and set Start/End time and schedule Type.

Configure Recording Parameter

Main stream refers to the primary stream that affects data recorded to the hard disk drive and will directly determine your video quality and image size. Comparing with the sub-stream, the main stream provides a higher quality video with higher resolution and frame rate.

Sub-stream is a second codec that runs alongside the mainstream. It allows you to reduce the outgoing internet bandwidth without sacrificing your direct recording quality. Sub-stream is often exclusively used by smartphone applications to view live video. Users with limited internet speeds may benefit most from this setting.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Record ^ Parameter to configure camera main stream and sub-stream parameters.

Configure recording parameters.

Frame Rate

Frame rate refers to how many frames are captured each second. A higher frame rate is advantageous when there is movement in the video stream, as it maintains image quality throughout.

Resolution

Image resolution is a measure of how much detail a digital image can hold: the greater the resolution, the greater the level of detail. Resolution can be specified as the number of pixelcolumns (width) by the number of pixel-rows (height), e.g.,1024×768.

Bitrate

The bit rate (in kbit/s or Mbit/s) is often referred to as speed, but actually defines the number of bits/time unit and not distance/time unit.

Enable H.264+

The H.264+ mode helps to ensure the high video quality with a lowered bitrate. It can effectively reduce the need of bandwidth and HDD storage space.

Audio Source

The audio input signal source. If you select Audio Source as Camera Audio, it will transmit audio via coaxial cable, and make the local audio input signal unavailable. Ensure the camera supports to transmit audio via coaxial cable before selecting Audio Source as Camera Audio.

Audio Source is only available for certain models.

Click Apply.

Storage Device

Initialize HDD

If it is the first time you use your HDD, please initialize it after it is installed.

Before You Start

Install at least an HDD to your video recorder.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Record ^ Storage .

Select an HDD.

Click Init.

Repair Database

Repair an HDD that with error in database. Please operate it with the help of professional technical support.

Secure Erase

Secure erase will delete videos in the selected disk(s).

Add Network Disk

You can add the allocated NAS or IP SAN disk to the video recorder, and use it as a network HDD.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Record ^ Storage .

Click Add.

Select NetHDD.

Set Type as NAS or IPSAN.

Enter NetHDD IP address.

Click Search to search the available disks.

Select NAS disk from the list, or manually enter the directory in NetHDD Directory.

Click OK.

Result

The added NetHDD will be displayed in the storage device list.

Configure Storage Mode

Configure HDD Quota

Each camera can be configured with an allocated quota for storing videos.

Steps

Go to Configuration ^ Record ^ Storage Mode .

Select Mode as Quota.

Select a camera to set quota in Camera.

Enter the storage capacity in the text fields of Max. Record Capacity (GB) and Max. Picture Capacity (GB).

Disable: When the HDD is full, video recorder will stop writing.

Enable: When hard drive is full, video record will continue to write new files by deleting the oldest files.

HDDs which are free of working for a long time will turn into sleep status.

Restore Default

Steps

Click 0 at the upper-right corner.

Select the restoring type.

Simple Restore

Restore all parameters, except the network (including IP address, subnet mask, gateway, MTU, NIC working mode, default route, server port, etc.) and user account parameters, to the factory default settings.

Factory Defaults

Restore all parameters to the factory default settings.

Restore to Inactive

Restore the device to the inactive status, and leave all settings unchanged except restoring user accounts.

Click Yes. The device will reboot automatically.

Search Log

The operation, alarm, exception and information of video recorder can be stored in logs, which can be viewed and exported at any time.

RTSP

You can specifically secure the stream data of live view by setting the RTSP authentication.

RTSP Authentication Type

Two authentication types are selectable, if you select digest, only the request with digest authentication can access the video stream by the RTSP protocol via the IP address. For security reasons, it is recommended to select digest as the authentication type.

ISAPA

ISAPI (Internet Server Application Programming Interface) is an open protocol based on HTTP, which can realize the communication between the system devices (e.g., network camera, NVR, etc.). The video recorder is as a server, the system can find and connect the video recorder.

HTTP

The admin user account can disable the HTTP service from the GUI or the web browser. After the HTTP is disabled, all the related services, including the ISAPI, Onvif and Gennetc, will terminate as well.

HTTP Authentication

If you need to enable the HTTP service, you can set the HTTP authentication to enhance the access security. Two authentication types are selectable, for security reasons, it is recommended to select digest as the authentication type.

IP Camera Occupation Detection

The function detects the network camera status. If the network camera has been added by another video recorder, the network camera status will show as □ in Online Device list.

Click Apply.

Buzzer Switch

You can enable or disable buzzer with alarm linkage or exceptional linkage.

Steps

Click ® at the upper-right corner.

Click More.

Go to Buzzer Switch.

Turn on or turn off Enable.

Device Maintenance

Schedule Reboot

The device will automatically restart according to the schedule.

Login

You shall acknowledge that the use of the product with Internet access might be under network security risks. For avoidance of any network attacks and information leakage, please strengthen your own protection. Open web browser, input the IP address of the video recorder and then press Enter.

Dual-Stream

Dual-stream is a technology used to record high resolution video locally while transmitting a lower resolution stream over the network. The two streams are generated by the DVR, with the main stream having a maximum resolution of 1080P and the sub-stream having a maximum resolution of CIF.

DVR

Acronym for Digital Video Recorder. A DVR is device that is able to accept video signals from analog cameras, compress the signal and store it on its hard drives.

HDD

Acronym for Hard Disk Drive. A storage medium which stores digitally encoded data on platters with magnetic surfaces.

DHCP

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a network application protocol used by devices (DHCP clients) to obtain configuration information for operation in an Internet Protocol network.

HTTP

Acronym for Hypertext Transfer Protocol. A protocol to transfer hypertext request and information between servers and browsers over a network.

PPPoE

PPPoE, Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet, is a network protocol for encapsulating Point-to- Point Protocol (PPP) frames inside Ethernet frames. INTRODUCTION

Demand Analysis

In traditional CCTV systems, all the moving objects in the picture will trigger the perimeter alarm, which may generate a lot of false alarms. Users have to waste a lot of time dealing with false alarms, and the alarm is unreliable. In addition, when the target needs to be found in the video, it needs to be manually searched by video playback, which is time consuming and laborious, and it is easy to lose key targets, which is very inconvenient.

After solving the basic monitoring and video problems, users need to receive more accurate alarms and to have a more convenient target search function to better use the monitoring system.

Solution

Some false alarms can be filtered by using a thermal camera, vibration optical fiber, radar, and other equipment. The cost of the whole system is too high, and it cannot meet the requirement of finding the target quickly afterwards.

With the development of artificial intelligence, target classification can be realized directly based on the video screen, and false alarm reductions and target retrieval can be provided, which can provide users with very cost-effective schemes.

System Architecture

Hikvision’s AcuSense Series of cameras and NVRs can prevent false alarms by identifying humans and vehicles when defining line crossing detection and triggering an alarm when only the selected object type (human and/or vehicle) is detected.

To set up False Alarm reductions and target classification without additional products, an AcuSense NVR and/or AcuSense cameras are required.

Function Description

Target Classification

By upgrading the hardware of conventional products, Hikvision has loaded artificial intelligence technology into the chip of the equipment. The equipment can classify and identify the objects appearing in the picture such as humans, vehicles, rainwater, light, leaves, animals, etc. Object classification is the basis for realizing false alarm and key target alarms.

Through target classification, alarms caused by animals, light, rain, leaves, or other objects can be filtered out, and only alarms triggered by human bodies and vehicles will be received. This is the function of a false alarm reduction.

In addition, in the face of a large number of monitoring video data, when searching key information such as people or cars, the target retrieval function is used. The device will record human body and vehicle information automatically, and solve the issue that video playback is time-consuming and easy to miss.

Go to Configuration > Event > Smart Event > Line Crossing Detection in the local interface.

Use the pull-down list to select the camera to configure.

Check the Enable Local Smart Analysis checkbox to have the local NVR perform the smart analysis with a non-AcuSense camera. The NVR will acquire only the camera stream for intelligent event analysis, and the NVR will not acquire the camera’s smart event configuration. Up to four 8 MP non- AcuSense cameras are supported for false alarm reductions, and sub-stream resolution of these cameras have to be under WD1 (960*576). If this box is unchecked, the AcuSense camera (required in this case) will do the analysis. The NVR will acquire smart event configuration and alarm information from the camera.

NOTE: The NVR and camera configuration screens will slightly differ. This document uses the NVR configuration screens as examples.

Check the Enable Line Crossing Detection checkbox to activate line crossing detection.

Check one or both Detection Target checkboxes to set the type of object to trigger the alarm:

Human: Alarm will be sent only if triggered by human(s).

Vehicle: Alarm will be sent only if triggered by vehicle(s).

No Box Checked: Alarm will be sent by any object(s).

Click the Area Settings tab.

Use the pull-down menu to set the line number to define (1-4). Up to four line crossing lines can be defined. The target classification can be set separately for each line.

Drag a line in the live view area with the left mouse button; release to end the line. Select line with left mouse button to move or resize the line.

Configure the line by clicking on one of the buttons:

Max. Size*: Drag with the left mouse button to define a rectangle representing the maximum object size that will be detected crossing the defined line.

Min. Size*: Drag with the left mouse button to define a rectangle representing the minimum object size that will be detected crossing the defined line.

Draw Area: Drag with the left mouse button to define the total area to monitor.

Clear: Click Clear, then click Save, to delete all line settings.

Use the pull-down menu to select the line crossing direction that will trigger the alarm:

A<->B: Alarm will be triggered if object moves across the defined line from A side to B side or from B side to A side.

A->B: Alarm will be triggered if object moves across the defined line from A side to B side.

Available only when configuring through the local NVR; setting will not appear if configuring through the camera.

• B->A: Alarm will be triggered if object moves across the defined line from B side to A side.

Set line crossing Sensitivity (0-100). The sensitivity value = 100 – S1/ST x 100, where S1 is the area of the target that has crossed the line and ST is the actual area of the target. The higher the sensitivity, the easier it is to trigger the alarm.

Click Save to save the line crossing settings.

Repeat for additional lines, up to four total.

Click Save.

Click the Arming Schedule tab to display the Arming Schedule section.

Drag the left mouse button to draw/modify blue timelines to define the times and days that the defined alarm will be active. The line may be resized and/or re-positioned using the mouse.

NOTE: Click X Delete to delete a highlighted blue timeline.

Click the HU Delete All to delete all of the defined blue timelines.

Click Save to save the schedule settings.

Click the Linkage Method tab to display the Linkage section.

Check the alarm action checkboxes you wish to configure:

• Normal Linkage

Send Email – An alarm will cause the system to send an e-mail notification to the predefined e-mail address.

Notify Surveillance Center – An alarm will cause notification to be sent to the pre-defined Surveillance Center.

Upload to FTP/Memory Card – An alarm will cause the system to upload a notification to a pre-defined FTP site or memory card.

White Light Flashing (Strobe Light and Audio Alarm/SL models only) – An alarm will cause the camera’s white light to flash (strobe).

Audible Warning (Strobe Light and Audio Alarm/SL models only) – An alarm will cause the system to generate an audible alarm.

A1 – An alarm will cause this camera to start recording.

Click Save to save the alarm action settings.

Configuring White Light Output (Strobe Light and Audio Alarm/SL Model Only)

Go to Configuration > Event > Basic Event > White Light Alarm Output.

Set Flashing Duration from 1 to 60 seconds.

Set Flashing Frequency to High (interval 0.6 seconds), Medium (interval 1 second), or Low (interval 1.5 seconds).

NOTE: The Target Type shown on the iVMS-4200 is the same as the Detection Type set in the configuration interface. Alarm information triggered by the unchecked category will be filtered and will not be displayed on the iVMS-4200.

1) Set Detection Type to Human, then the iVMS-4200 will display only Human target type alarm information.

2 Set Detection Type to Vehicle, then the iVMS-4200 will display only Vehicle target type alarm information.

Viewing Alarm on GUI Interface

The NVR’s local GUI interface cannot classify Humans and Vehicles in this version.

The current mechanism: after checking Smart Detection, the GUI interface will display all alarm pictures without classification between humans and vehicles (this feature will be optimized by the end of the year).

Viewing Alarms on iVMS-4200

1. Add the NVR on the iVMS-4200 Device Management interface.

2. View the triggered alarm on the iVMS-4200 Alarm Event interface. Alarm detail information will label the target category as Human or Vehicle, as shown in the figure below.

The NVR alarm upload via iVMS-4200 is the same as for a network camera. The Target Type shown on the iVMS-4200 is consistent with the Detection Type set on the configuration interface. Unchecked categories will be filtered out and will not be displayed on the iVMS-4200.

Known Issue

When adding network cameras to the NVR, the NVR will issue a 24-hour arming schedule to the camera by default. After the camera is connected, configuring an arming schedule on the NVR will affect only whether the alarm is reported and displayed on this NVR, but the camera setting time will not change. If other terminals access the camera, the alarm will still be received.

Installation Requirements

The proposal altitude of installation distance is 3 to 5 meters, equipment bow angle is approximately 10°, specific adjustments are according to the environment.

The maximum monitoring distance depends on the lens’ focal length. The table of the maximum monitoring distance for the specific focal length is as follows:

• The monitoring area cannot be covered by nearby objects. Do not shoot backlight at the installation position, which will affect the image effect. The following shows a perimeter environment installation:

• Recommended Scenario:

Try to avoid getting too close. It is recommended that the target be more than three meters away from the camera. For example, avoid scenes with lots of trees nearby.

If there is a mirror in the environment, the mirror image or shadow can easily lead to false alarm

triggering.

Adjust the camera angle during installation to avoid interference from high brightness lights or headlights.

Domes are not recommended for outdoor scenes, IR reflect can seriously affect the accuracy of the alarm, as shown below:

– Heavy traffic scenes such as station, airport, theater, etc., will generate a lot of perimeter alarms, so it is suggested to avoid these types of scenes.

– Avoid situations where personnel targets are too large. AcuSense NVRs can analyze target sizes between 1/16 and 1/2 of the image’s vertical size. For example, if the camera’s resolution is 1080p, the vertical size of the target should be between 64 and 540 pixels.

In the following scene, the target takes up almost the whole picture. Adjusting the camera angle so that a targets is detected from a far distance so that it appears a suitable size is suggested.

Using Region Entrance/Exiting Detection instead of Intrusion/Line Crossing Detection is recommended for region intrusion of fixed scenarios.

To choose the correct firmware for your 50/54/60/80 series camera, you will need to know the cameras hardware version and the firmware version already installed in the camera. You can get this information using the IPC tool for the cameras ‘Search Tools’.

SEARCH TOOLS:

Open Search Tools on a computer or laptop connected to the same network as the cameras.

Click ‘Start Search’ at the top left.

The cameras will appear on the list in the software.

A = The hardware version of the camera       B = The firmware version and build date

Select a folder based on the hardware version of your camera to find available firmware updates.

How to set Guard Viewer For PC

Guard Viewer For PC is a video management software. It provides video surveillance services including live view, playback, device management, recording schedule, alarm configuration, video wall, people counting,and e-map.

The software is easy to deploy and operate, suitable for smalland medium-size applications such as for super market, parking lot and residential area.For more details, see datasheet.

Directly connected camera: Camera that is directly managed by the software (in comparison with NVR connected camera).
NVR connected camera: Camera that is managed by the software via an NVR (in comparison with directly connected camera).
IPC: IPC, IP camera and camera refer to the same thing in this manual.
PC: The computer that runs the software, also mentioned in this manual as the client.

NOTE：

The 64-bit OS and software are recommended. Live view and playback consumes RAM, and the 32-bit software has a relatively small RAM. When RAM is running low, the software will be unable to play more channels of live or recorded videos, and it will display a message indicating insufficient RAM.

Installation and Startup

Double-click the .exe file, and follow the wizard to complete the installation.

When installation is complete, double-click the shortcut icon to start the software.

Log in with the default username/password (admin/123456).

You see the main page when logged in. The main page includes the control panel, some functional buttons and the system menu.

NOTE：

The default password is intended only for the first login. For security, please set a strong password when logged in (see User Management). A strong password shall include at least nine characters comprising all three types: digits, letters, and special characters. Please keep the password safe and change it regularly.

The password for admin (123456 or others) does not change after an upgrade or a reinstall of the software.

For first time use, a config wizard will guide you to add devices and start live view. The wizard uses the default username (admin/123456) to add devices.

GUI Introduction

The main page is displayed after you log in. The main page consists of the control panel and some functional buttons.

The control panel includes the Common and Basic/Smart areas. Click an icon to access the corresponding module. You may drag an icon to change its position with another icon.

Click the buttons in the top right corner:

Icon Description

Menu. Click an icon on the menu to access the corresponding module.

Change appearance. You can choose the light or the dark theme color for the client.

Switch account.

Lock the GUI

Open configuration wizard, user manual, view version number and update information.
Note: If updates are available, you can click to view details and download the new version.

The buttons in the bottom left corner:

Device Management

Devices include encoding devices, decoding devices, cloud devices, access control devicesand network keyboards.

The software supports up to 64 local devices and 64 cloud devices, up to 512 local channels and 512 cloud channels.

Encoding Device

Add Device

Encoding devices include IPC (also referred to as IP camera,camera, or video channelin this manual), Network Video Recorder (NVR)and hybrid NVR.

NOTE:

Managing a device with different management software programs may cause unexpected problems.

Please always add devices as admin (enter username “admin”).

Click Device Managementon the control paneland then follow the steps:

1. Click Device > Encoding Device. The page is divided into two areas with two lists:

Online Device list: The software searches online devices and refreshes automatically. Note: The discovered devices are not added yet, and you need to add them manually (see step 2).

Managed Device list: lists devices that have been added to the software.

2. On the Online Device list, select device(s) and then click Add. You may add devices to different groups.

The software uses the default username (admin/123456) to add a device. If the password of a device has been changed and is not 123456, you need to change the password in step 3.

In the Online Device list, you may:

Click Refreshto refresh the list.

Click Search Configto specify a network segment to search.

Right-click a device to visit itsWeb interface.

3. On the Managed Device list, check the status of the added devices and do the following:

Add device 1) Click Add.

2) Choose a mode. The device username (admin) and password are always required, regardless of the mode you choose.
IP/Domain: Add a device with a known IP address.
IP Segment: Add multiple devices with continuous IP addresses.
MyDDNS: DDNS must be enabled on the device and port mapping must be completed beforehand. See Appendix for details.

3) Click Add to add to the default group, or Add to Group to add to a specified group.

Edit Device Select device(s) and then click Edit. This button is especially useful when you want to set the same username and password for adding multiple devices.

Delete device Select device(s) and then click Delete. The deleted online devices are still on the Online Device list.

Sync time Click TimeSync to sync your PC’s system time to the selected devices.

View device status Click Status to view device online/offline status, alarm subscription status, recording status, and storage medium status.
You may refresh manually or set an interval to refresh automatically.

Use buttons in the Operation column : Edit device name, IP address, username/password.
If the device status is Offline(incorrect username or password), click this button and change the password to the actual password. You may also double-click to edit a device.
: Configure image, encoding and OSD settings of a device (see Configure an Encoding Device).
: Visit the Web interface of the device.
: Restart device.

Configure Device

On the Managed Device list, click  for an online device to configure image, encoding,OSD and temperature measurement settings without opening the Web interface of the device.

NOTE:

This function requires device support and it may be unavailable if the device version is too low.

Temperature measurement parameters are available to thermal cameras only.

The configurations displayed may vary with device version and how the device is managed.

For detailed explanations of image, encoding, OSD and temperature measurement parameters, please see device user manual.

OSD configuration is not available on Mac OS.

The changed image and OSD settings take effect immediately. Encoding and temperature measurement settings must be saved first before they take effect.

For an NVR, you need to select a camera from the drop-down list.

When configuring OSD, you can double-click the image to display in full screen; the blue boxes (Area1, 2 …) appear only in the preview and do not display on the live view image. You can drag an OSD to relocate it.

Group Management

You can create groups and manage cameras in different groups.

1. Add a group.

2. Import cameras to the group.

To import cameras: click the group on the right, select cameras on the left, and then click Import Selected. To import all cameras, click Import All.

To remove a camera from a group, place the mouse pointer on the camera and click Delete.

To rename a camera in a group, place the mouse pointer on the camera and click Rename.

Decoding Device

You need to add device before you can use the video wall function. The steps are similar to adding device. See Add Device for reference.

Note:Add device as admin.

Cloud Device

The software can manage up to 64 cloud devices simultaneously, including your own devices and devices shared from other cloud accounts. If the total number of cloud devices exceeds the limit,
you can click Device Details and use the Add Manage or Cancel button to specify the cloud devices you want to manage.

Click Device Management on the control panel and then follow the steps.

Click Device > Cloud Device.

Click Register to sign up for a cloud account; if you already have one, proceed to step 3.

Enter your username and password for your cloud account, and then click Login. Devices under your cloud account are listed, including your cloud devices (under My Cloud Device) and devices shared from other cloud accounts (under Shared Cloud Device).

Use the buttons under Operation to edit device name, configure image, encoding and OSD settings, open the Web interface of the device, or restart a device.

Click Cancel to cancel the management of a device without deleting the device from the cloud account.

Click TimeSync to keep a device synchronized with your PC’s system time.

Click Device Details to add, edit, delete cloud devices, to share or cancel sharing, to manage or cancel management.

Click Add to add device(s) to your cloud account (the register code required is displayed in the Web interface of the device; see device user manual for details); click Delete to delete device(s) from your cloud account.

Click Add Manage to add device(s) to the software; click Cancel to cancel management without deleting the device from the cloud account.

Double-click a device or click Edit to change the device’s name. To sync the new name to cloud, select Sync to Cloud.

Click Share to share device(s) with another cloud account. Set a sharing period and permissions as needed. The permissions are pre-configured on the device.

Click Sharing Records to view sharing history or cancel sharing(s) with other cloud accounts.

Click Cancel Sharing to cancel sharing(s) from other cloud accounts.

Access Control Device

See Add Device for the steps to adding an access control device . Please add access control devices as admin.

Network Keyboard

A network keyboard can be used to con trol live video , PTZ camera and sequence resource on a video wall wall.

The following steps describe how to play live video on a video wall. Before you start, refer to the keyboard user manual to connect the keyboard to your PC. And then, click Device Management on the control panel and follow the steps.

1. Add a camera. On the Camera tab, click Add, select the camera to play on the video wall and click OK. The camera appears on the list.

You will use the number (e.g., 222) later when operating the keyboard.

2. Add a video wall. On the DX Video Wall tab, click Add, select a video wall and then click OK. You need to configure video wall first. See Video Wall for details.

You will use the number (e.g., 1) later when operating the keyboard.

3. Add a sequence resource. On the Sequence Resource tab, click Add, select a sequence resource and then click OK. You need to configure sequence resource first. See Sequence Resource for details.

You will use the number (e.g., 1) later when operating the keyboard.

4. The following operations are on the network keyboard.

a. Enter the keyboard number in step 2 (e.g., 1), then press AUX4.
b. Enter the window number in the top left corner (which is 1 in both A and B), then press MON.
c. Enter the split-screen number, then press WIN. If the window is split (as in A), enter the split-screen number 3; if the window is not split (as in B), enter 1. This step is only required for playing live video on video wall. For playing sequence resource, skip this step.
d. Select the camera or sequence resource to play on the video wall.

Live video: Enter the keyboard number in step 1(e.g., 222), then press CAM.

Sequence resource: Enter the keyboard number in step 3 (e.g.,1),then press CAM_G.

5. After live video starts on the video wall, you can:

Use the joystick to control the rotation of a PTZ camera, and use the Zoom and Focus buttons to control the zoom and focus.

Use the button to switch live video to recording.

See keyboard user manual for more information.

Live View

Click Live View on the control panel to view live video from cameras.

Play Live Video

1. On the Camera tab, double-click a camera or drag it to a window to start live video.

2. Right-click a camera to choose a stream type, rename the camera, view/change alarm output status.

View/change alarm output status: Right-click an IPC or a channel under an NVR to view or change its alarm output status. Alarm output needs to be configured beforeh and on the device.

Or, hover the mouse on an NVR, click  to view or change the alarm output status of the NVR and all the channels under it . Click the button in the Operation column or the button on the top to change alarm status.

3. You may drag the image to play it in another window.

4. Double-click a window to maximize it, and double-click again to restore.

After maximizing a window, move your mouse to the left or right side on the live view page, and then click or to switch to the live video of previous or next channel.

5. Use the live view toolbar or window toolbar during live view.

Play Live Video by View

By default view

On the View tab, double-click a default view or click Play to start live video from the corresponding number of cameras on the camera list: 4 cameras for 4-split view, 9 for 9-split view, 16 for 16-split view, and 25 for 25-split view.
Take the 4-Split view as an example.

Live video from the first 4 cameras on the camera list will be played, illustrated as below.

By custom view

Play live video from specified cameras by a custom view.

1. On the View tab, click the Add View button to create a view. You may also click View on the control panel to add a sequence resource.

2. Select a window layout. Click  to edit a custom layout, use Combine or Undo when editing.

3. Drag cameras or sequence resources to the intended windows one by one.

4. Click OK.

5. Double-click the custom view or click Play to start live video from cameras (specified in step 3) in the corresponding windows in the layout (set in step 2).

Live View Control

Live View Toolbar

The live view toolbar is at the bottom of the live view window.

Button Description

A Set window layout.

B Save the current view directly or as another view.

C Close all windows playing video.

D Snapshot all.

E Start recording of all windows playing.

F Stop recording of all windows playing.

G Pause/resume sequence display

H/I Play the previous/next group or view in sequence display.

J Switch to full screen mode. Press Esc to exit.

Live View Window Toolbar

The window toolbar appears when you place the mouse pointer on a live view window. The toolbar is effective only to the current window.

Button Description

A Take a snapshot. The snapshot format and storage path are configurable in System Configuration.

B Records live video playing in current window to the PC.
The video format and storage path are configurable in System Configuration.

C Digital zoom. When enabled, drag the mouse to draw an area on the image to zoom in on, and use the scroll wheel to zoom in or out.

D Adjusts the speaker volume or mute it for the PC.

E Two-way audio.

F Starts instant playback. Plays back the live video playing in the current window for the last 5 minutes and 30 seconds.
The playback pauses at the end, and you need to start live video manually.

G Stream type, bit rate and resolution of the current video.

The toolbar shows  when the camera is a PTZ camera. Click this button to open the PTZ control panel.

The toolbar shows  when the camera is a fisheye camera. Click this button to open the fisheye control panel.

The toolbar shows  when the camera is a multi-sensor camera. Click this button to enable tracking mode.

Live View Shortcut Menu

A shortcut menu appears when you right-click a live view window. Some items on the menu provide same functions as the live view toolbar and window toolbar. Some are described in the table below.

Parameter Description

Stream Type Select a stream type for the current window: auto, main, sub and third stream (options may vary with device).
Note: Sub Stream and Third Stream are not displayed if not available.

Manual Alarm Trigger an alarm manually.
Note: It is recommended that you first configure the action(s) to trigger (see Configure Alarm-Triggered Action). A click of this button will generate an alarm and trigger the configured action(s).

Camera Info Display frame rate, resolution, bit rate, video compression format, and packet loss rate for the window.

System  Configuration Open the System Configuration window (See System Configuration).

The default stream type is auto.

For local devices, the client chooses a stream type according to the screen layout.

4 windows or less: Main stream

4 to 16 windows(16 included): Sub stream

More than 16 windows: Third stream

For cloud devices, the default is third stream.

PTZ Control

Control the rotation direction and speed, pan/tilt/zoom, focus of a PTZ camera. The software also provides other functions including 3D positioning, preset, and patrol functions.

PTZ control is available to PTZ cameras only and it may vary depending on the camera’s capability and the protocol it supports. For example, some manufacturers reserve certain presets for special use such as wiper or menu. Please refer to camera specifications before use.

PTZ Control Panel

Click on the live view window toolbarto open the PTZ control panel, which can fold and expand.You can also move the control panel to the left by clicking .

ParamEter Description

Control rotation direction or stop rotation.
Tip:
You may also use shortcut PTZ control to rotate the camera: place the mouse pointer on the live view window, and when the shape changes to like , click and hold the left button to rotate the camera.

You can enable or disable Shortcut PTZ Control under System Configuration > Audio & Video.

Shortcut PTZ control is not effective when 3D positioning is enabled.

Adjust focus and zoom.

Control the light.
Control the wiper.
Control the IR.
Control the heater.
Control the snow removal function.

Adjust rotation speed.

Click the tab to enable/disable 3D positioning. With 3D positioning enabled:
Click somewhere on the image, and the camera automatically rotates toward the direction.
Drag the mouse from top to bottom to zoom in on the selected area. Drag from bottom to top to zoom out.

Preset tab.

Patrol tab.

Auto Guard tab.

Preset

Add a preset to save the status of a PTZ camera. When needed, you can rotate the camera to the previously set position with one click of the button. Presets are also used to set a preset patrol (see Preset Patrol).

1. Rotate the camera to the desired direction.

2. On the Preset tab, click Add Preset. Enter a preset number that is not in use; otherwise, the existing preset will be replaced by the new preset.

Preset Patrol

The camera patrols along multiplepresets in the set order and stays at each preset for certain length of time. Because apreset patrol route consists of presets, you need to add all the needed presets first(see Preset).

1. On the Patrol tab, click Set Patrol.

2. Click Add, select a preset, and set the length of time that the camera stays at this position. Repeat this step to all the necessary presets.

3. Use the Set Top, Up, Down, Set Bottom buttons to adjust the order in which the camera patrols.

4. Click Save.

5. The patrol route appears in the patrol route list. Click Start Patrol, and the camera will patrol along the presets that you have set.

Recorded Patrol

The user operates the camera, and meanwhile the software records the movement track and statusof the camera and saves it as a patrol route.Currently one recorded patrol route is supported.

1. Click Start Recording Patrol Route ().

2. Use the directional buttons or shortcut PTZ control to rotate the camera to desired directions and stay for the intended length of time. Adjust zoom and focus as needed.

3. Click Stop Recording Patrol Route. The recorded patrol route appears in the patrol route list (by the name 0[Recorded Patrol]).

4. Click Start Patrol (). The camera will repeat the actions you performed during the patrol.

Auto Guard

After auto guard is enabled, the camera performs the action(start patrol or go to the preset)as configured if no operation is made during the specified time period.

Fisheye Control

Fisheye control, set mount mode and display mode to get desired images:

Mount: Ceiling, Wall, Desktop

Display Mode: Original Image, 360° Panoramic+1 PTZ, 180° Panoramic, Fisheye+3 PTZ, Fisheye+4 PTZ, 360° Panoramic+6 PTZ, Fisheye+8 PTZ, Panoramic, Panoramic+3 PTZ, Panoramic+4 PTZ, Panoramic+8 PTZ (clicking Original Image switches from dewarping mode to normal mode).

The fisheye control button is available to fisheye cameras only.

In dewarping mode, you may click a PTZ window and then use the mouse to drag the image, or zoom in/out using the scroll wheel; or click a panoramic window and then drag, zoom in or out on the demarcation area.

Digital zoom is disabled in dewarping mode, and the digital zoom button is hidden. If you switch to dewarping mode when digital zoom is enabled, digital zoom will be disabled automatically, and the image restores its original size.

Dewarping mode is not available when resolution is below than D1, and the fisheye control button is grayed out.

Fisheye control is not available on Mac OS.

Tracking Mode

Intracking mode, if you play main stream ofthe multi-sensor camera, the camera will automatically track the objects that trigger the set alarm rule.

1. Click in the live view or playback window toolbar. The window is split into multiple windows: one big window showing the panoramic image, and multiple small windows showing PTZ images. The boxes on the panoramic image match the PTZ images.

2. Perform the following operations as needed:

Drag a box in the panoramic image to change the range of the corresponding PTZ image.

Scroll your mouse wheel on a box or a PTZ image to zoom in or out.

To use auto tracking function, you need to enable perimeter protection function for the camera first.

Enabling tracking mode will disable digital zoom.

Tracking mode is not available on Mac OS.

Sequence Display

Sequence Resource

Play live video from cameras in a group one by one in a window. First,you need to create a sequence resource.

Create a sequence resource

1. On the Live View page, click the Sequence Resource tab, and then click the Add button. You may also click Sequence Resource on the control panel to add a sequence resource.

2. Complete settings in the window, including sequence resource name, sequence interval, video channels to include, stream type, preset (PTZ camera). Click the Top, Up, Down and Bottom buttons to adjust the sequence as needed.

3. Click OK.

Play a sequence resource

Double-click the sequence resource on the Sequence Resource tab to start sequence display.

Sequence View

Sequence a default view

Play live video from cameras on thecamera list in sequence based on a default view.

1. On the View tab, click the Sequence Display button for a split view. Take 4-Split view for example.

2. Set sequence display interval.

3. Assume there are eight cameras, and the sequence interval is set to 20 seconds. Then the sequence is illustrated as shown below.

Sequence custom views

Play live video by custom views in sequence.

1. To create a custom view, click Add View.

2. Complete the settings in the window, including the view name, window layout, binding between the cameras/sequence resources and the windows (by dragging the cameras/sequence resources to the windows or by clicking Batch Add), stream type (for cameras only) and preset (for PTZ cameras only). Click OK when you complete the settings.

3. Repeat the above steps to create all the custom views you need.

4. Click the Sequence Display button to sequence the custom views you have created.

Recording and Playback

Record videosand search for playback or download.

Configure a Recording Schedule

Configure a recording schedule for an NVR to record video automatically. This function is available to NVR-connected cameras only. The recorded videos are saved on the NVR, not on the PC.

Click Recording Schedule on the control panel and then follow the steps.

Configure a 24/7 Recording Schedule

Use the template to configure a 24/7 recording schedule.

1. Select the camera for which you want to configure a recording schedule.

2. Make sure the Enable check box is selected.

3. Click the Select button and then select the All Day template. The green on the calendar means time periods during which video will be recorded.

4. Click Save.

Customize a Recording Schedule

Customize based on the 24/7 recording schedule.

1. Click or drag on the green to erase, or click or drag on blank areas to draw. Clicking the Clear button in the top right corner will clear all time periods.

2. In addition to the method described in step 1, you may also enter start and end times manually. Up to 8 time periods are allowed for each day.

3. After you complete the settings for a day, you may select from the drop-down list and copy the settings to other days. For example, select All.

4. Click Save to complete the configuration for the selected camera.

5. To make the same recording schedule for other cameras, click Copy To.

In addition to the All Day and Work Day templates, you may customize 8 templates to save different recording schedules.

Record Video Manually

Save live video to your PC as local recordingby clicking the Start Local Recording () and Stop Local Recording () buttons on the window toolbar.The storage path and video format are configured in SystemConfiguration.

Playback

Click Playback on the control panel to search and play recordings, including device recordings and local recordings.

Play Device Recordings

Device recordings refer to videos stored on an NVR or an SD card that is mounted on a camera.When you search for device recordings, the time displayed is same with the system time of the device, not your PC. The GUI and operations may vary with the playback type you choose. We take Normal Recording Playback for example to describe the general procedure.

1) Select the source of recording (device recording).
2) Select the playback type.
3) Select the camera(s).
4) Select or set the search time. If the device is in another time zone, please use the local time of the device.
5) Click Search.
Note:

In step 2, you may select a sub type to search for event recordings or VCA recordings.

In step 3, up to 16 cameras are supported if multiple selections are allowed.

In step 4: The calendar shows search results for the selected camera(s) (blue means normal recording, and red means alarm recording). This feature is only available to Normal Recording Playback and Smart Recording Playback modes.

Play Local Recording and Image

Search and play videos and images saved on your PC.The time of local recordings is the time of your PC.

1) Select the source of recording (local recording).
2) Select the camera(s).
3) Select or set the search time.
4) Choose to search for recordings or pictures. The default is to search for recordings.
5) Click Search.

Note:
In step 3: The calendar shows search results for the selected camera(s), and blue indicates recording on that day.

Playback Control

Double-click a file on the right-side list to start playback; or click on the timeline to start playback from the corresponding time.

Playback Toolbar

A Set window layout.

C Click to take a snapshot of images in all windows.

D Click to switch to synchronous playback mode. In synchronous playback mode, operations (e.g., pause, resume, stop, adjust speed, click on the timeline to start playing from that point) are effective to all the playing windows.
Note: Frequent operations (such as pause/resume, adjust speed) during synchronous playback may affect the synchronous performance.

E/H Play by frame. Click to play the previous/next frame of image.

F Pause/resume.

G Stop

I Adjust playback speed.

J Download recordings.

K Switch to full screen mode. Press Esc to exit.

L/N Move the timeline forward or backward.

M Zoom in or out on the timeline.

O Click to open a calendar and search recordings of a different date.

Playback Window Toolbar

The window toolbar appears when the mouse pointer rests on a playing window. Operations with the toolbar are for this window only.

The toolbar shows  when the camera is a multi-sensor camera. Click this button to enable tracking mode.
You can choose a stream transmission protocol (see System Configuration) according to the network environment to improve image quality.

Right-click Menu

A menu appears when you right-click a window during playback. Many functions on the menu are same to the toolbar buttons.

Playback by View

In normal recording playback mode, playback by view can play recordings of cameras bound to the windows in the set window layout. On the View tab, select a custom view, select a date on the calendar, and then click Search.

This function is only available to device recording.

Smart Search

The NVR records motion in different areas of the image when recording video. Smart search allows you to locate videos that include motion in the image.

This function is available only when the software works with certain NVR models and versions.

1. On the Device tab, select Smart Recording Playback from the drop-down list. Select a camera, and then select a date on the calendar.

2. Search results appear on the timeline. The green means videos with changed images, and the green part plays at the normal speed; other irrelevant parts play at high speed.

3. By default, smart search searches the entire screen. You may click the Draw Area button (1) and then drag or click to edit the search area (covered by red grid).

4. Click the Finish Drawing button (2), adjust search sensitivity as needed, and then click the Search button (3) to search again.

Recording Download

Download Recordings

Use the following methods to download recordings from a device to your PC. Download progress displays in real time on the bottom toolbar.

After a search, click the Download button () under the recording list (see Playback Toolbar) to download recordings. Recording download is not available to smart search.

Choose a download speed:

a. High speed: Consumes more network bandwidth and PC performance andmay affect other services. This option is recommended for scenarios where there is no need to guarantee the normal operation of other programs or services.

b. Normal speed: Consumes less network bandwidth and PC performance and has limited impact on other services. This option is recommended for scenarios that need to guarantee adequate performance resources and network bandwidth for other programs or services.

Use the Start Clipping and Stop Clipping buttons on the window toolbar (see Playback Window Toolbar).

Use the right-click menu.

Click the Recording Download button ( ) in the lower left corner of the GUI, search device recordings and then download recording files. You can also download the recordings by time.

Manage Download Tasks

1. Click the Task Management button ( ) in the lower left corner of the GUI to manage download tasks.

2. On the Recording Download tab, view and manage download tasks. The operations for the tasks vary with download status. You can stop download tasks, delete tasks, resume tasks, play downloaded recordings, and open a folder to view the downloaded recordings.

Stopping a download task does not delete the video that’s already downloaded to your PC.
You may set the file format and path at System Configuration > Audio & Video > Recording.
A video player is needed to play the downloaded recordings.

Video Wall

Play video on a physical video wall.

Video wall is divided into DX video wall and decoding card video wall, depending on the device used to create the video wall.

DX video wall: Video wall created by using a decoding device.

Decoding card video wall: Video wall created using a decoding card on an NVR.

Add a decoding device or an NVR as admin first under Device Management > Device.
The number of video walls supported, operations allowed, and functions/features available may vary with decoding device and version.

Add a Video Wall

Click Video Wall on the control panel. For the first time use, click and then choose a video wall type.If a video wall already exists, click  right to the video wall name to add a video wall.

1. Enter the video wall name.

2. Select the decoding device you want to use to create the video wall. The software automatically sets the video wall size and binds decoding channels to the windows. Decoding channel names appear on the screen.

3. Edit the video wall size, resolution or the binding between the decoding channels and windows. Use the Unbind All () or Bind All () button as needed.

4. Click OK.

Note:

Make sure the video wall size is consistent with the physical video wall.

Set small pixel pitch LED if necessary. The special LED width is the width of the last column; the special LED height is the height of the last row. The unit is pixel.

5. To edit or delete a video wall, click next to the video wall name.

Video Wall Operations

Play Video on Video Wall

Before playing video on a video wall, you can place the mouse pointer on  after an online camera to preview live video.

1. Drag cameras to windows to start live video on the video wall.

Some video walls require you to open window(s) on the screen first. The functions available may vary depending on the actual video wall, for example, you may open a window manually by dragging on the screen, automatically by choosing an existing layout, or by setting coordinates and window size.

Tip: To start live video from multiple cameras or group(s), select the cameras or group(s), click a window and then click Play on Screen or Play on Wall.

Play on Screen: Play on one window.

Play on Wall: Play on multiple windows.

2. To play a signal source (such as from a PC), click the Signal Source tab, and then drag the signal source to the intended window.

3. To choose a window to play alarm-triggered live video, right-click the window and click Set Alarming Window. Make sure alarm-triggered live video is configured (see Configure Alarm-Triggered Action for details). To cancel the setting, right-click the window and click Cancel Alarming Window.

Only one window can be set as the alarming window.
If the video wall is created using an NVR’s decoding card, alarm-triggered live video is only available to a camera under the NVR.

Output Audio

Use the audio output channel of a DX device tooutput audio of a camera playing in a window or a screen. Only DX video wall created with certain DX device models supports this feature.

1. Click (1), and then select the audio channel.

2. Click a window/screen, and then click (2); or right-click and then select Turn Audio On. An icon appears in the top right corner, means the audio channel is outputting audio of the IPC in the window/screen.

3. Adjust output volume or mute the sound as needed.

Play Sequence Resource

Play sequence resources on video wall. Three sequence modes are available: sequence video on a single window, sequence video on multiple windows, and sequence scenes.

Sequence on Single Window

On the Sequence Resource tab,drag a sequence resource to a window.

Sequence on Multiple Windows

On the Sequence Resource tab,select the sequence resource, click Play on Screen, and then select the windows.

Sequence Scenes

Scene refers to video wall settings including screen layout, window, and video service (live view or sequence).The scene allows you to recall the video wall settings with one click of a button.Sequence scenes is to display different scenes according to set time.

1. Click the right-side , or click on the Scene tab to create scenes.

2. On the Scene Sequence tab, click  to create scene sequence plan.

3. Select the scenes and import them to the plan.

4. Set the sequence mode. You may choose to sequence by time interval or configure a 24-hour sequence plan.

Sequence by interval: Display scenes one by one at set intervals, for example, 30 seconds in the figure above.

24-hour plan: Enable the plan, and then set the starting time. The scene will automatically display on the video wall at the set time. You may add scenes repeatedly as needed.

5. The scene sequence plan appears on the Scene Plan tab. Click Start to start scene sequence.

Other Video Wall Operations

For more video wall operations, see the tables below.

The buttons on the toolbar are effective to all windows on the video wall.

Screen Control

On the Screen Control tab, you can turn on/off screens including small pixel pitch LED screens.

Before you operate on the client, make sure the screen, the power distribution box (for LED screen), and the server are properly connected.

Configure Serial Port and Protocol

Configure the serial port and protocol in accordance with the decoding device model and screen type.

Turn On or Off the Screen Automatically at a Set Time

1. Select Turn On At or Turn Off At, and then set the time(s) when the screen automatically turns on or off.

2. Click Save. The screen will turn on or off automatically at the set time.

Turn On or Off the Screen Manually

1. Click Turn On Screen. The screen turns on immediately.

2. Click Turn Off Screen. The screen turns off immediately.

Turn Off the Screen with Delay

1. Select the check box for Turn Off In and then enter the time in the text box.

2. Click Turn Off Screen.

3. A message as shown below appears. The screen turns off automatically when the timer expires.

Behavior Search

Search VCA images and recordings from an NVR.

This feature is available on certain NVR devices/versions. Currently this feature only supports Cross Line Detection and Intrusion Detection.

1. Follow the steps as illustrated on the image.

2. Perform the following operations as needed.

Play or download the alarm video (5). The alarm video is 10 seconds long (5s before and 5s after the alarm time).

View or save the alarm image (6). You can click the left or right arrow to view the previous or next image.

Click (7) to switch to list mode.

Click (8) to export search results.

Face Recognition

View live video, alarm records and pass-through records; manage device face libraries and monitoring tasks.Use face recognition to search people and count people coming in and out.

Realtime Monitoring

View live video and snapshots of people passing through, view realtime alarm records.

Double-click a camera to start live video.Up to four cameras are allowed.

Perform the following operations as needed:

Click a snapshot to view details. Click More to go to the Pass-Thru Records tab. If a face is identified as a stranger, you can add it to a face library: put your mouse pointer on the snapshot, click , enter the required information, and choose the target library.

View realtime alarms. Click More to go to the Alarm Records tab.

a. Choose a record type:

Comparison Record: Click an icon to filter alarm recordsby comparison result(for match, for not match).

Mask&Temperature Records: View records of people not wearing a mask and people with an abnormal temperature.

b. Click a record to view the corresponding face comparison information. Personal information is displayed only when the degree of match between the captured face and the face in the library reaches the set alarm threshold. See Monitoring Task for details.

View people counting statistics. The statistics are displayed only when Mask&Temperature Record is chosen.

To view the statistics of people not wearing a mask and people with an abnormal temperature, you need to enable Mask Detection and Abnormal Temperature Detection first. See System Configuration for details. The statistics are automatically cleared at 0:00 every day. You can also click Clear Statistics to reset the statistics manually.

Configure epidemic control parameters. Click under the live view window to configure epidemic control parameters. See System Configuration for details.

Configure attributes to be displayed for match faces and not match faces. Click under the live view window to configure attributes. See System Configuration for details.

NOTE: A device reports alarms only when a corresponding monitoring task has been configured.

Face Library Management

Manage faces in different libraries to meet different monitoring needs. The libraries are saved on the device.

Create Face Library

Select the device you want to manage, then the face libraries of the device appear in the list. Click  to create a new face library. You can edit the library name or delete a library you don’t need anymore.

Add Face Data

Choose one of the following ways to add face data to face libraries.

Option 1: Use Batch Add

1. Click Batch Add, then select the target face library. You may select multiple libraries of different devices.

2. Click Add, then select face images you want to add. The images must be JPG files and the size of each photo is between 10KB and 500KB.

3. Click the edit button, enter the required information.

4. Click Next to save and continue to the next, or click Finish.

5. Click OK when you complete the information for all.

Option 2: Import a file containing face data

Importa file that contains the necessary face data. The file and its content must conform to the format, and the size of each photo is between 10KB and 500KB.

1. Click Download Template and then enter the face data into the template file.

2. Click Import and select the file you have edited. The imported data appear in the list. You can click the button in the list’s upper right corner to switch display mode.

3. Edit or delete face data as you need; click Export to save the face data in the current library to a CSV file.

Monitoring Task

Create monitoring tasks using the created face libraries. The device compares the captured faces with the faces in the libraries and reports alarms as configured.

1. Select a camera on the left, and click Add to create a monitoring task.

2. Set the task name, monitoring type, and choose a face library to be used for monitoring. Set the alarm threshold based on your needs.

Match Alarm: If the similarity (or Match in Realtime Monitoring) between a captured face and a face in the library reaches the alarm threshold, the device reports a Match alarm.

Not Match Alarm: If the similarity between a captured face and a face in the library fails to reach the alarm threshold, the device reports a Not Match alarm.

All: To monitor all the faces that the device captures.

Personal information such as name and ID number will not be displayed in the realtime monitoring window for a Not Match alarm.

3. Click OK. The task is created and appears in the list. For an NVR channel, you may copy the monitoring task to other channels of the same NVR.

Alarm Records

View alarm recordsgenerated by theconfigured monitoring tasks.

Choose a video channel, set search conditions including monitoring type and alarm time, and then click Search. If you chose Match Alarm as the monitoring type, you can click More to set more conditions including name, ID number, degree of match, mask wearing status, and body temperature range.

NOTE: Only NVR channels supporting face detection or face recognition can be selected.

Perform the following operations as needed:

Add the face snapshot of a stranger to a face library

Put your mouse pointer on the face snapshot and then click  . You need to enter the required information including name and ID number and specify the target library.

View details

Click a record to view alarm details.

Export records

Click Export to export all the search results.

Pass-Thru Records

View pass-through records, people counting statistics, mask wearing status, body temperatures.

Choose a video channel, set search conditions including alarm time, mask wearing status and temperature range, and click Search.

NOTE: Only NVR channels supporting face detection or face recognition can be selected.

Perform the following operations as needed:

Add a stranger’s face snapshot to a face library

Put your mouse pointer on the face snapshot and click  . You need to enter the required information including name and ID number and specify the target library.

View details

Click a record to view alarm details.

Export records

Click Export to export all the search results.

People Counting

Count people entered and/or left during a certain period.
NOTE: This function requires that the camera be capable of people counting and connected to the PC via

Click People Counting on the control panel.The People Counting page is displayed with two tabs:

Realtime Statistics: Display counting results of selected cameras in real time, including seven latest counting results.

Report Statistics: Display counting results in a bar chart or a line chart and export.

Realtime Statistics

On the Realtime Statistics tab, select the check box for the camera to enable realtime statistics.You may double-click a camera to start live video from it.

Enable realtime statistics to view real-time counting results from selected cameras.

Statistics include:

Realtime counting results (left side): It is the total number if multiple cameras are selected. The three colors indicate different counting types, and they match the lines on the coordinates on the right side.

7 latest counting results (right side): axis X means time, and axis Y means number of people (the minimum is 0; the maximum is 10 by default and it updates according to the actual counting result).

When realtime statistics is enabled, the first time of counting is displayed in the lower left corner of axis X (1), and the counting result appears on axis Y(e.g., 993). The result updates periodically, and the latest result is displayed on the right(2).

NOTE:

Live view and realtime statistics stop automatically when you close the People Counting page or log out of the system.

Report Statistics

On the Report Statistics tab, select camera(s)and then click on to count directly; or set conditions first:

Counting type: By minute, hour, day or month.

Set a time period by selecting on the calendar or typing in the field.

Count people entered and/or left by selecting the check box(es) .

Display results in a line chart or a bar chart by clicking .

NOTE: The maximum time period you can set is 60 time units, depending on the counting type (minute, hour, day or month) you choose. For example, the maximum period is 60 months if you choose to count by month, and 60 days if you choose to count by day.

Click Count, andresults appear.

Place the cursor on the line/column to view the number at a time point.

Click a column title, for example, People Entered or People Left to sort the results in ascending or descending order.

Click  to display in a bar chart.

Click Export to export statistics as a CSV file to your PC. You can use Microsoft Office Excel to open the file.

Access Control

Manage access control libraries, perform realtime monitoring, search and export entry/exit records.

Library Management

Add a Library

Add a library for an access control deviceand use the library to control access.

1. Choose the target access control device in the drop-down list on the left.

2. Click behind the device name. A new library appears under the device.

3. Click  behind the new library, and enter the device name.

4. Click OK.

Add Personal Data

Add personal data to the library. You can add data for one person at a time, for multiple person using the Batch Add feature, or for multiple persons at a time by importing a file containing personal data of these persons.

Option 1: Add data for one person

1. Click Add > Add One Person.

2. Enter the required information. Click the image on the left to upload a photo.

3. Click Next Step, and choose the target library.

4. Click OK.

Option 2: Use batch add

1. Click Add > Batch Add, and choose the target library.

2. Click OK.

3. Click Add, and select face image(s) you want to add.

4. Click  , and enter required information including name and ID.

5. Click Next to save and continue to the next, or click Finish.

6. Click OK when you complete the information for all.

Option 3: Add data for multiple persons at a time by importing a file containing personal data of these persons

1. Click Generate Template, and use the template to create a file containing the required personal data.

2. Click Import, and select the target library.

3. Click , and select the file to import (CSV or XLSX).

4. Click Import.

NOTE:

Only JPG images are allowed. The size of each image must be within the range of 10KB and 500KB.
XLSX files cannot be imported or exported on Mac OS.

The following operations are allowed:

• Click  in the list’s upper right corner to switch display mode.

• Click Export to save data in the library to a CSV or an XLSX file.

Realtime Monitoring

View live video and snapshots of people passing through,take snapshots, use digital zoom, and open the door remotely.

Double-click a camera or drag it to the window to start live video. Pass-through records are displayed on the right side.

The captured face snapshots and the corresponding library photos (if a match is found) are displayed on the right side. You can click a record to view details,including the original snapshot, mask wearing status and body temperature.

If a face snapshot does not have a match in the library, then no library photo is displayed, and the person will be identified as a strange. You can add the stranger to a library by placing your mouse pointer on the face snapshot and clicking . You need to enter a name and ID for the person and specify the target library.

NOTE:

Mask detection and temperature detection are available only when they are supported by the device and have been configured on the device. See the user manual of the access control device for details.

If the access control device can upload original snapshots, the Show Original Snapshot button will be displayed, and you can click it to view the original snapshot.

Up to 10 pass-through records can be displayed. The oldest record will be replaced by the new one when more than ten pass-through records are generated.

Pass-through records are displayed in real time. Restarting the software will clear the pass-through records in realtime monitoring.

You are recommended to configure at least one library before you view pass-through records.

The following operations are allowed:

• Live view window toolbar

The window toolbar appears when the mouse pointer rests on a live view window. The toolbar is effective only to the current window.See Live View Window Toolbarfor details. The on the toolbar is used to open doors.

• Live view toolbar

See Live View Toolbarfor details.

• System configuration

Click  in the upper right corner to configure alarm sound, pop-up alarm window, etc. See System Configuration for details.

Entry/Exit Records

Search entry and exit records by time, mask wearing status, body temperature range, authentication result, etc. You can further filter search results by name and IC card number after setting Authentication Result to Succeeded.

The following operations are allowed:

• Add a stranger to a library quickly

The library photo is empty when a stranger is detected. To add the stranger to a library,click  in the Operation column, enter the required information including name and person ID, click Next Step, and then select the target library.

• View details

Click  in the Operation column to view detailed personal information.

• Export search results

Click Export to save search resultsto a CSV or an XLSX file.You can choose to export only text or both text and images.

E-map

First complete configuration on the Edit Map tab,and then use the map on the Map tab.

Hot spot: Video channels, alarm input/output channels, and devices added to the map. Live view and playback are only available for video channels.

Hot zone: A map on a map. You may add hot spots on a hot zone.

Map Configuration

Add a Map

Click E-map on the control panel, and then click . PNG, BMP and JPEG images are allowed.The added map appears on the page and on the Map Resources list on the left.

On the Edit Map tab, you can:

Change the map scale: Use the scroll wheel or click the zoom buttons (1) to zoom in or out.

Eagle eye: Drag on the yellow area (2) to view details on the map (or drag map directly).

Add hot spots (3): Drag devices, video channels, alarm input/output channels to intended positions on the map. See Add a Hot Spot for details.

Add hot zones (4): Add a map on the map. Up to 7 layers of maps are allowed. See Add a Hot Zone for details.

Manage pictures (5): Add or delete maps. Deleting a map will also delete all hot spots and hot zones on it.

Edit map resources (6): Edit map name, and change the icon color of hot zones.

Filter map resources (7): Choose to display video channels, alarm input/output channels or devices on the map.

Add a Hot Spot

Add hot spots so you can quickly locate them on the map when any event occurs. Hot spots include video channels,alarm input/output channels and devices. Right-click a hot spot to change color or delete it from the map.

When adding a device hot spot, you can also add video channels and alarm input/output channels under it. The channels and the device will appear together on a hot zone on the map. You need to choose a map for the hot zone. Follow the steps as shown below:

Add a Hot Zone

Follow the steps to add a hot zone.

The hot zone is displayed as an icon on the map and opens when you double-click it.Right-click a hot zone to change color or delete it from the map.

Map Operations

After you complete the configuration, click the Map tab to use the map. You may view hot spots, hot zones, alarms, and trigger/clear alarms.

Locate a Hot Spot or Hot Zone on the Map

Click the Locate button to locate a hot spot or hot zone on the map.

Hot Spot Operations

Click the Select button on the top toolbar and then drag on the map to select hot spots. Different hot spot types allow different operations:

Video channel: Select video channels to view live or recorded videos. You may use the window toolbar during live view.

Alarm input: Select channels to clear alarms.

Alarm output: Trigger/clear alarms. You can use the buttons in the Operation column or the buttons on the top to trigger or clear alarms.

You can also right-click a hot spot to perform the above operations. For alarm input channels and video channels, you can also view alarm information.

Handle Alarms

When an alarm occurs, the corresponding hot spot flashes red on the map. If the hot spot is on a hot zone, the hot zone flashes red. Right-click the hot spot to play live or recorded video, view alarm info or clear the alarm.

View Hot Zone

To view a hot zone, click the hot zone map on the Map Resources list on the left, or double-click the hot zone icon on the map.

Click the main map on the Map Resources list to return.

Audio

Audio services include audio, two-way audio and broadcast. Two-way audio cannot work at the same time with audio or broadcast, which means, starting two-way audio will stop audio or broadcast, and vice versa.

Note: Broadcast is not available on Mac OS.

Audio

When live video is playing, click  in the window toolbar to turn on audio from the camera. The audio is one-way from the camera to your PC and it stops when live video is closed.

Note:Turning on audio for another camera will turn off audio from the current camera.

Two-Way Audio

Two-way audio is audio communication between a device (camera or NVR) and your PC. Both the device and the PC shall be connected to audio input and output devices.

Note: Two-way audio is available to one device at a time.

Two-Way Audio with a Camera

Double-click the camera or drag it to the window on the right. When two-way audio is started, the audio channel symbol changes (1), the two-way audio symbol flashes in the window’s upper right corner (2), and a hint appears indicating two-way audio is in use (3).

During two-way audio, you can adjust sound volume (4)(6) or stop two-way audio (5).

You may also start two-way audio with a camera (camera only) by clicking  in a live view window.

Two-Way Audio with an NVR

Onthe Two-way Audio tab, double-click the NVR or drag it to the window on the right.When two-way audio is started, the audio channel symbol changes (1), and a hint appears (2) indicating two-way audio is in use.

During two-way audio, you can adjust sound volume (3)(5) or stop two-way audio (4).

Broadcast

Broadcast is one way from your PC to cameras.

1. Click the Broadcast tab. Select audio channels from the left-side list. You can:

Select audio channels one by one.

Select an NVR or an organization to select all audio channels under it.

2. Click Add. The selected audio channels appear on the broadcast list on the right.

3. After all the channels are added, click  to start broadcast.

After broadcastis started, you can:

Add more audio channels: Select audio channels on the left-side list (1) and then click Add. Broadcast starts automatically for these channels.

Adjust sound volume (2) or click  to turn off the microphone.

Delete audio channels from the broadcast list: click (3) to delete one by one; or select the check box (4) and then click (5) to delete in batches.

Stop broadcast: click or close the Audio page.

Currently, broadcast to an NVR is not available.

Alarm Configuration

Configure action(s) to trigger when an alarm of a certain type occurs at a specified source; view alarm records and handle alarms.

Configure Alarm-Triggered Action

Alarm configuration includes the configuration of alarm source, alarm type, device to link, and action to trigger.

1. Click Alarm Configuration on the control panel and then follow the steps.

2. Click a tab according to the alarm type you want to configure. Take Camera Alarm for example.

Camera alarm: includes camera online/offline, event alarm and VCA alarm.

Device alarm: includes device online/offline, disk online/offline, high/low temperature, etc. For DX devices, the following alarm types are available: fan failure, LED distribution box high temperature, LED distribution box smoke alarm, fan failure cleared, LED distribution box high temperature cleared, LED distribution box smoke alarm cleared, high/low temperature cleared.

3. Select an alarm source. The subsequent settings are all configured for this alarm source.

4. Select an alarm type. An alarm of the specified type will trigger the configured actions. If you choose face recognition match or not match alarm, make sure the monitoring task has been configured (See Monitoring Task).

5. Configure alarm parameters.

For the following alarm types,you need to click Configuration to access the device’s Web interface and complete configuration first:motion detection, tampering detection,alarm input,audio detection, intrusion detection, cross line detection,face detection, defocus detection, object left behind, object removed, human body detection.

Take motion detectionas an example, you need to make sure motion detection is enabled, detection area is specified, and arming schedule is configured.

6. Click the Trigger Actions tab.

7. To receive an email alert when an alarm occurs, select the check box and complete email configuration (see System Configuration).

8. Click Add. A dialog box appears. Select the device(s) to link and then click OK. The linked device(s) appear on the list. The device(s) will be triggered to perform the specified action(s) when an alarm of the specified type (step 2) occurs at the specified source (step 1).

9. Configure actions to trigger:

Alarm-triggered live view: An alarm will trigger a pop-up window playing live video from the camera.

Alarm-triggered preset: An alarm will trigger the PTZ camera to rotate to the preset. The presets in the list must be configured beforehand.

Alarm-triggered output: An alarm will trigger the camera to output an alarm and trigger an action by a third-party device.

Alarm-triggered video wall: An alarm will trigger the video wall to play live video from the camera. You need to complete video wall configuration first. Only one camera can be selected.

10. Click Save.

NOTE:

In order for alarm-triggered live view to take effect, click  in the bottom left corner of the GUI and select Display Link Video.

Triggering live video from multiple cameras may cause high CPU usage of your PC and may therefore affect other services.

View Alarm Records

Click Alarm Records on the control panel to view alarm records, acknowledge alarms, and export alarm data to your PC.

Latest Alarm

The Latest Alarm tab list alarms reported since your current login and refreshes automatically.

Tips:

You can:

Sort records in ascending/descending order by clicking a header (e.g., Alarm Time).

Acknowledge alarms: Select (or double-click) an alarm and click Acknowledge. Acknowledged alarms are moved to the History tab.

Click  to turn on/off alarm sound.

Click  to play an alarm video. The length of alarm video is configurable in system configuration (Operation > Alarm > Stop Playback After and Start Playback Before).

Click the Latest Alarm button () in the lower left corner of your GUI. On the page displayed, you can turn on/off alarm sound, select/deselect Display Link Video to enable/disable alarm-triggered live video, or double-click a record to display the full Realtime Alarm tab.

Click the Alarm-triggered View button () to view alarm-triggered live video.

Tips:

The window toolbar is available (see Live View Window Toolbar).

Lock Screen: When this option is selected, the current window layout (e.g., 4-window layout) is locked, and it does not change as new alarm-triggered live video occurs.

Lock Current Live View: When this option is selected, the current live video will not be replaced by new alarm-triggered live video.

Live video stops when the set play time is over (see Configure Alarm-Triggered Action). You can play the video again by double-clicking the alarm record in the top left area.

Click the button in the lower left corner to open the alarm records page.

Alarm level and corresponding alarm types:

History Alarm

All alarms,including latest alarms and history alarms, can be retrieved on the History tab.

Youcan:

Set search conditions. Click Reset to reset search conditions.

Click a header (e.g., Alarm Time) to sort records in ascending/descending order.

Choose the number of records displayed per page.

Double-click a record to view details. Alarm Time is your PC’s system time when the alarm occurs, and Device Time is the device’s system time when the alarm occurs. The times can be different. You will also find a time difference if your PC and the device belong to different time zones.

Select an alarm and click Acknowledge to acknowledge it.

Click Export to export search results to your PC as a CSV file. Use Microsoft Excel to open it.

Operation Logs

Click Operation Log on the control panel to query logs and export search results to your PC.Log information includes username, operation details and result.

You can:

Set search conditions. Click Reset to reset search conditions.

Click a header (e.g., Log Time) to sort records in ascending/descending order.

Choose the number of records displayed per page.

Double-click a record to view details.

Click Export to export search results to your PC as a CSV file.

User Management

Click User Management on the control panel to add, edit or delete users.

Use the default username/password (admin/123456) to log in. “admin” is the super administrator and cannot be deleted.

1. To add a user, click Add:

Administrator: Only admin can add administrator. Administrator has all permissions by default.

Operator: Admin or administrator with user management permissions can add operators. An operator has no permission by default.

2. To assign permissions, specify permissions on the left. For some permissions (e.g., Live View), you need to select device(s) on the right.

3. To edit a user (username, password, permissions), double-click the user on the list; to delete user(s), select and click Delete.

Menus may be grayed out or hidden for lack of permission. Contact admin if necessary.

Step by Step Instructions

NVR Initialization

Initialize the NVR over the network using a local computer

Enter the IP address of the NVR (default http://192.168.1.108) in Internet Explorer

Select Region,Language,Video Standard,Temperature Unit

Click Next

Scroll down to review the terms and check the box to agree

Click Next

Set the Time Zone and System Time

Create a password for the NVR and enter twice to Confirm

Check the box to enable the Password Protection/Reset options for Email Address and Security Question

A prompt will confirm a successful initialization

You can now log into the NVR’s webUI to proceed with setup and configuration

Record Schedule Setup

Setup Video and Snapshot Recording for the Thermal Camera

From the Main Menu click Management > Camera

Under Registration

The thermal camera will appear in the Channel list as two channels, one for the visual channel and one for the thermal channel, in this example are Channels 1 and 2

Click Management > Storage

Click Schedule

Click Setting to adjust the Record schedule (when the camera will record) for the thermal camera channel

Use the interface to select the days and enter a Time Period. Select the Record type you wish to record for the camera: Alarm and IVS must be enable for the Temperature Alarm to record.

Click OK

The schedule will be updated

Click Copy

Select the other channel of the Thermal Camera (in this example Channel 2)

Click OK

Click the Snapshot tab

Configure the Snapshot schedule record settings the same way s the previous steps

Click OK to save

Click Storage > Record

Thermal Configuration

Configure the settings of the Temperature Monitoring Solution

1. From the Main Menu of the webUI select AI

2. Click Parameters > Smart Plan

Use the dropdown to select the Thermal Channel

3. Click to enable the Thermal Temperature Monitoring Smart Plan

Click OK

Return to the Main Menu by closing the AI tab (clicking X)

4. Click Alarm

5. Click Thermal Alarm

Use the dropdown to select the Thermal Channel

Select Thermal Temperature Monitoring

6. Check the box to enable feature

Check the box to enable desired camera hardware response on alarm:

Camera Audio – audio from camera speaker

White Light – light from camera

To record Alarms, check the box next to Record Channel and select which channel(s) to record

Click More Setting

Check to enable Alarm Upload

Click OK

Set temperature values for the alarm to trigger

5. Click Setting next to Anatomy Temperature Alarm Rule

Check the box to enable Temperature report – this will report/display all temperature values

Check the box to enable High Temperature Alarm – an alarm will be sent when the temperature is higher than or equal to this value

Click OK

Draw Rule for Detection Region

By default the entire camera frame will be set as the detection region

1. Click Clear to default the Rule

Click Draw Rule

2. Left click inside the frame to begin drawing the detection zone.

Click and drag to draw lines to complete a square/box

Blackbody Setup

1. From Main Menu click Alarm > Thermal Alarm

Use the dropdown box to select the Thermal channel

Use the dropdown to select Blackbody Error

2. Check the box to Enable

The default Blackbody rule will be displayed on screen as a blue box

Click to drag the box to position

Click the corners to adjust the size of the box

Click Setting next to Blackbody Parameter to adjust the settings of the Blackbody

Check the box to Enable

Enter desired Blackbody parameters (leave at default for most scenarios)

Blackbody temperature should be set to 95 F / 35 C

Click OK to save

Additional Alarm Parameters

Select which Channel(s) will be recorded as a video

Check to enable Picture Storage for snapshot/images taken during event

2. Click More Setting

Check the box next to Alarm Upload

Select any other desired Alarm parameters:

Event Verification

Live View will display the detection zone and Blackbody reference

Once configuration is complete, go to Live interface to verify temperature measurement

Statistics will be displayed in top right of screen

NVR Initial Setup and Firmware Upgrade:

Total Setup of Thermal Solution through NVR with Camera, including Record Setup and configuration at webUI:

Step by Step Instructions

NVR Initialization

Initialize the NVR over the network using a local computer

Enter the IP address of the NVR (default http://192.168.1.108) in Internet Explorer

Select Region,Language,Video Standard,Temperature Unit

Click Next

Scroll down to review the terms and check the box to agree

Click Next

Set the Time Zone and System Time

Create a password for the NVR and enter twice to Confirm

Check the box to enable the Password Protection/Reset options for Email Address and Security Question

A prompt will confirm a successful initialization

You can now log into the NVR’s webUI to proceed with setup and configuration

Record Schedule Setup

Setup Video and Snapshot Recording for the Thermal Camera

From the Main Menu click Management > Camera

Under Registration

The thermal camera will appear in the Channel list as two channels, one for the visual channel and one for the thermal channel, in this example are Channels 1 and 2

Click Management > Storage

Click Schedule

Click Setting to adjust the Record schedule (when the camera will record) for the thermal camera channel

Use the interface to select the days and enter a Time Period. Select the Record type you wish to record for the camera: Alarm and IVS must be enable for the Temperature Alarm to record.

Click OK

The schedule will be updated

Click Copy

Select the other channel of the Thermal Camera (in this example Channel 2)

Click OK

Click the Snapshot tab

Configure the Snapshot schedule record settings the same way s the previous steps

Click OK to save

Click Storage > Record

Thermal Configuration

Configure the settings of the Temperature Monitoring Solution

1. From the Main Menu of the webUI select AI

2. Click Parameters > Smart Plan

Use the dropdown to select the Thermal Channel

3. Click to enable the Thermal Temperature Monitoring Smart Plan

Click OK

Return to the Main Menu by closing the AI tab (clicking X)

4. Click Alarm

5. Click Thermal Alarm

Use the dropdown to select the Thermal Channel

Select Thermal Temperature Monitoring

6. Check the box to enable feature

Check the box to enable desired camera hardware response on alarm:

Camera Audio – audio from camera speaker

White Light – light from camera

To record Alarms, check the box next to Record Channel and select which channel(s) to record

Click More Setting

Check to enable Alarm Upload

Click OK

Set temperature values for the alarm to trigger

5. Click Setting next to Anatomy Temperature Alarm Rule

Check the box to enable Temperature report – this will report/display all temperature values

Check the box to enable High Temperature Alarm – an alarm will be sent when the temperature is higher than or equal to this value

Click OK

Draw Rule for Detection Region

By default the entire camera frame will be set as the detection region

1. Click Clear to default the Rule

Click Draw Rule

2. Left click inside the frame to begin drawing the detection zone.

Click and drag to draw lines to complete a square/box

This detection zone will be the blue box displayed in Live View interface:

Blackbody Setup

1. From Main Menu click Alarm > Thermal Alarm

Use the dropdown box to select the Thermal channel

Use the dropdown to select Blackbody Error

2. Check the box to Enable

The default Blackbody rule will be displayed on screen as a blue box

Click to drag the box to position

Click the corners to adjust the size of the box

Click Setting next to Blackbody Parameter to adjust the settings of the Blackbody

Check the box to Enable

Enter desired Blackbody parameters (leave at default for most scenarios)

Blackbody temperature should be set to 95 F / 35 C

Click OK to save

Additional Alarm Parameters

Select which Channel(s) will be recorded as a video

Check to enable Picture Storage for snapshot/images taken during event

2. Click More Setting

Check the box next to Alarm Upload

Select any other desired Alarm parameters:

Click OK

Click OK to save all settings

Event Verification

Live View will display the detection zone and Blackbody reference

Once configuration is complete, go to Live interface to verify temperature measurement

Live View (at local interface/monitor) will show the detection zone and blackbody reference

Live View (Right click > AI Mode enabled)

Temperature detection value will appear

Statistics will be displayed in top right of screen

Live events will populate the right side of the screen

Check measurement value on screen

Compare it with the value on another device for temperature, such as thermometer:

To receive automatic firmware upgrade for your recorder, it is essential to enable automatic update in your recorder’s settings. 	Menu. Click an icon on the menu to access the corresponding module.

Add device	1) Click Add. 2) Choose a mode. The device username (admin) and password are always required, regardless of the mode you choose. IP/Domain: Add a device with a known IP address. IP Segment: Add multiple devices with continuous IP addresses. MyDDNS: DDNS must be enabled on the device and port mapping must be completed beforehand. See Appendix for details. 3) Click Add to add to the default group, or Add to Group to add to a specified group.
Edit Device	Select device(s) and then click Edit. This button is especially useful when you want to set the same username and password for adding multiple devices.
Delete device	Select device(s) and then click Delete. The deleted online devices are still on the Online Device list.
Sync time	Click TimeSync to sync your PC’s system time to the selected devices.
View device status	Click Status to view device online/offline status, alarm subscription status, recording status, and storage medium status. You may refresh manually or set an interval to refresh automatically.
Use buttons in the Operation column	: Edit device name, IP address, username/password. If the device status is Offline(incorrect username or password), click this button and change the password to the actual password. You may also double-click to edit a device. : Configure image, encoding and OSD settings of a device (see Configure an Encoding Device). : Visit the Web interface of the device. : Restart device.

Button	Description
A	Take a snapshot. The snapshot format and storage path are configurable in System Configuration.
B	Records live video playing in current window to the PC. The video format and storage path are configurable in System Configuration.
C	Digital zoom. When enabled, drag the mouse to draw an area on the image to zoom in on, and use the scroll wheel to zoom in or out.
D	Adjusts the speaker volume or mute it for the PC.
E	Two-way audio.
F	Starts instant playback. Plays back the live video playing in the current window for the last 5 minutes and 30 seconds. The playback pauses at the end, and you need to start live video manually.
G	Stream type, bit rate and resolution of the current video.

Parameter	Description
Stream Type	Select a stream type for the current window: auto, main, sub and third stream (options may vary with device). Note: Sub Stream and Third Stream are not displayed if not available.
Manual Alarm	Trigger an alarm manually. Note: It is recommended that you first configure the action(s) to trigger (see Configure Alarm-Triggered Action). A click of this button will generate an alarm and trigger the configured action(s).
Camera Info	Display frame rate, resolution, bit rate, video compression format, and packet loss rate for the window.
System Configuration	Open the System Configuration window (See System Configuration).

	Control rotation direction or stop rotation. Tip: You may also use shortcut PTZ control to rotate the camera: place the mouse pointer on the live view window, and when the shape changes to like , click and hold the left button to rotate the camera. You can enable or disable Shortcut PTZ Control under System Configuration > Audio & Video. Shortcut PTZ control is not effective when 3D positioning is enabled.
	Adjust focus and zoom.
	Control the light. Control the wiper. Control the IR. Control the heater. Control the snow removal function.
	Adjust rotation speed.
	Click the tab to enable/disable 3D positioning. With 3D positioning enabled: Click somewhere on the image, and the camera automatically rotates toward the direction. Drag the mouse from top to bottom to zoom in on the selected area. Drag from bottom to top to zoom out.
