Once you have the NAS setup you can come back to this post and follow the steps below:

Step 1: Login to your Synology NAS via a browser​

Step 2: Click the Package Center icon​

Step 3: Search for and install the Surveillance Station software (it should be on the home page of the package center, if not you can use the search bar to find it)​

Step 4: Click the Synology main menu at the top left of your screen and open the newly installed Surveillance Station software​

Step 5: Click the IP Camera icon​

Step 6: Click the add button when the new window open and then click add camera from the drop-down​

Step 7: Select Quick Setup and then click the next button​

Step 8: Enter the camera details manually or click the Search icon next the IP Address box​

Step 9: Check both the Synology Supported Cameras and ONVIF lists (some camera models are not directly supported by Synology, but as long as the camera is ONVIF compliant you should be able to add it to the Surveillance Station software)​

Step 10: Select the camera you want to add from one of the lists and click OK​

Step 11: Check that all the camera details are filled in, including the cameras username & password (also give the camera a unique name to help you identify it from other cameras)​

Step 12: Click the Test Connection button and if the test is successful you’ll get a green tick and a live shot from the camera, you can then click Finish and the camera will be added to your Synology NAS​

If the test is not successful you will have to go back and check the camera’s settings are correct, the most common problem is that the camera has an IP address that is not on your network, after you have followed our instructions from a previous video on how to change the IP address you should get a successful connection and be able to add the camera.

1. Open Apple App Store, search, download, and install V380

2. Connect the power plug to the camera and place the camera “right next” to your WiFi router.

3. Press and hold the reset button on the back of the camera until you hear the following sound:
Camera sound: “Restore factory default setting”
Camera sound: “Waiting for WiFi smart link configuration”

4. Open the app V380

Click on “WiFi Smart Link”

5. Your phone has to be connected to your WiFi network. You should then see your network name under WiFi Name. Enter your WiFi password and press next on the following screen:

Note: “Add manually” option is for when a camera is already connected to your home network and you would like add the camera to another phone. AP (Access Point) installation (withor without WiFi Network)

1. Open Apple App Store, search, download, and install V380

2. Connect the power cableto the camera

5. On your phone, go to Settings -> WLAN and connect to the WiFi network that starts with MV and ends with 8 digits. For example MV12345678. This is your camera access point.

6. Open the app V380

Click on “Add Manually”

7. Your phone has to beconnected to the camera access point. On the following screen, you can simply press “Lan Search” or Type in the Device ID (located on the bottom of the camera) and click Add to list on the following screen to add the camera to your device list:

8. When your phone successfully connects to the camera, you will see your camera on the Device List.

Now your camera is setup to connect directly to your phone and can only be accessed when your phone is near the camera access point signal. To configure your camera to your WiFi network, please place the camera next to your WiFi router and. continue the following steps.

9. Click “Settings” on the bottom menu will bring you to this screen.
You will see your device ID at the top. Click “Network.”

10. Check “Station (Work with router). The “WIFI List Near the device” will populate with nearby networks. Choose your WiFi network and type in your WiFi password and press return. Then click “Save” at the very top.

11. On your phone, go to Settings ->WLAN and connect to your WiFi network. Reopen the V380 app and click “Device List” at the bottom. You should see the camera on the device list.

Note: “Searching device” and “Device Linked” option is for when a camera is already connected to your home network and you would like add the camera to another phone. Simply clicking “Searching device” will add an already configured camera to your phone. Or you can click the + icon on the top right and click Device Linked, then click “Lan Search” or Type in the Device ID (located on the bottom of the camera) and click “Confirm Add” on the following screen to add analready configured camera to your phone.

AP (Access Point) installation (with or without WiFi Network)

1. Open Google Play Store, search, download, and install V380

2. Connect the power cable to the cameraand place the camera next to your WiFi router.

Click on “WIFI quick setup”

Click on “AP Quick Setup” will bring you to the Quick Configuration screen.

7. You will see the camera access point name under Quick Configuration. Click on the name to connect to the camera.

8. You should see a list of nearby WiFi networks. Choose your WiFi network and type in your WiFi password and press return. Then click “Save” at the very top. If you don’t see your network, press the back arrow and repeat step 7.

9. On your phone, go to Settings -> WLAN and connect to your WiFi network. Reopen the V380 app and click “My Device” at the bottom. You should see the camera on the there.

Summary:

These instructions are for configuring Motion Detection-based recording on Hanwha non-VMS-based NVRs. They are commonly known as “Embedded NVRs” because their user interface is locked and not running on top of Linux or Windows. 

NOTE: The instructions in this article are performed on the web-based management console of
the NVR, the menu layout when performing this directly from the NVR is identical

Step By Step Guide:

1. To connect to the NVR via Chrome, enter the NVRs local IP address into Chrome and press enter

2. The NVR requires a login; you will need to provide the password for the “admin” account

3. The NVR will default to Channel 1 Live View, click on the three horizontal lines in the top left, and select Setup (Figure 1)

4. Go to Record>Recording Schedule (Figure 2)

5. Click Event or Both (Figure 2) as the scheduling type. “Event” only records motion events; “Both” keeps all recordings but marks the motion events

6. Click  the All button shown in the top left of the scheduling grid; this copies the setting to the entire grid (Figure 2)

7. Click Apply to CH (Figure 2). Select all of the camera(s) you wish to apply this schedule to, click OK

8. Click the OK button at the bottom of the Record Schedule screen; this finalizes all changes

9. Navigate to Event>Camera Event (Figure 3)

10. Click on the column header for Camera Event; this allows you to change the entire column to the On setting (Figure 3)

11. Click the column header for MD, and change it to the On setting (Figure 3)

15. If the camera is mounted higher than 12 to 15 feet, you may need to click on the GREEN min box and draw a smaller min box on the camera view screen (Figure 7)

NOTE: At greater heights, a human may be smaller than the default min box

18. If the DA counter under the camera preview is at zero, you have not drawn a Detection Area  yet (Figure 9)

19. In most instances, you do not have to touch Detection Level or Sensitivity

21. Click on the Channel Dropdown menu, and repeat steps 13 through 20 for all cameras you wish to set up motion detection for (Figure 11)

22. Once you have completed the Detection Area set up for all of your cameras. Make sure to click OK on the Camera Event screen to save your changes (Figure 12)

How do I register cameras Using the Auto Detect function?

In an effort to maintain standards, Hanwha Techwin America uses the web UI for 
all knowledge base articles pertaining to product configuration. Open Chrome,
enter the IP Address of your device into the URL bar, and press enter. 
If you are not using the web UI to configure your device, please refer to the
user manual for your product.

NOTE: The Auto Detect function may sometimes find third-party devices, do not add
any third party devices using the Auto Detect feature uses the Wisenet Protocol, not ONVIF

NOTE: The root login username for Hanwha cameras is: admin (all lowercase),
the password gets set by the installer by entering 4321 into the password
box, you are telling the application there is no password set
