Q: Can Apartment outdoor station (VTO1210C-X and VTO1210C-X-S and DHI-VTO4202F) work with DMSS App?

A: Yes, but it requires License for firmware customization. Please reach out to your local Sales Rep or Technical Consultant.

Q: How do I access device config page in VTH (indoor monitor) device?

A: From the homepage, press and hold Settings button for 6 seconds.

Q: What the difference between Transmission 1 and Transmission 2 on the network settings?

A: Mode 1: Multicast (multicast). The default is mode 1. Using multicast in a multicast network environment, the effect is best at this time
Mode 2: Unicast (TCP), If the router does not support multicast, the group call will have a black screen on VTH, then you can switch to unicast mode. In addition, if the network is particularly poor, you can also use this mode, because TCP has a retransmission mechanism to avoid frame loss.

How To Reset VTH Password via Computer

Description

This guide will show you how to reset the password of a Dahua VTH over a local network using VDP Config.

Prerequisites

• Windows PC.
• Dahua video intercom device on the same LAN as the PC
• Dahua Toolbox
• VDP Config

Video Instructions

Step by Step Instructions

1. Open DahuaToolbox and click Open next to VDPConfig

2. Discover the device in VDPConfig – How To Discover A Device Using VDPConfig

3. Select System Settings section

4. Click Device Password

5. Select the device(s) you wish to reset the password for on the left using the checkbox

6. Click Reset Password

7. Confirm the prompt

8. Use the dropdown box next to Reset Mode to select XML File

The default Export Path will be displayed where the XML will be saved. Click BrowsePath to modify this location.

Click Next to proceed

A prompt will confirm a successful reset and generation of the XML file.

9. Navigate to the location where the XML file was exported to. default file name is ExportFile.xml

10. Send the exported xml file as an attachment to the email address: support_rpwd@dahuatech.com

Then 2 or 3 minutes later, you will receive an email with the attached XML file

Save the results.XML file to the computer

11. In VDPConfig at the Reset Password interface click Open

12. Select the results.xml file click Open

13. Click Next

14. Once the reset is successful it will prompt to create a new password for the device.

Enter the new password and again to confirm

Click Complete

A green checkmark next to the device will confirm a successful password reset

Configtool now handles the initialization phase and any IP address changes that need to be made. You no longer need to manually initialize our VDP devices manually

You can only Initialize the same type of Intercom at one time due to the password requirements

• VTHs requires a 6 character password (Numerical only)
• VTOs requires an 8 character password (Alpha Numerical combination)

1. Check the VTOs that you want to initialize and click on Initialize

Note:You can only Initialize the same type of Intercom at one time due to the password requirements

2. Click on Initialize

3. VTOs require at least an 8 character Alpa-Numeric password. Be sure to enter an email as this will be your method resetting the password if forgotten or lost. Click on Next to proceed

4. The green check marks will indicate that the devices have been successfully initialized. Click on Finish to complete the VTO initialization.

5. Select the VTHs you want to initialize and click on Initialize

Note:You can only Initialize the same type of Intercom at one time due to the password requirements

6. Click on Initialize

7. Enter a 6 Character Numerical password and an email as this will be your method to reset the password if forgotten or lost.

8. Green check marks indicates it was successfully initialized. Click on Finish to finalize the initialization.

Changing IP Addresses

Once devices are initialized you may want to change their IP Addresses to be on the same IP Scheme

1. To do that go to Search Setting

2. Enter the credentials if the device you want to modify and click on OK

3. The device list will refresh. Click on Edit for the device you want to edit

4. Enter the desired IP Address then click on OK to finalize

5. The green check mark will indicate that the IP address change was successful.

How to Setup and program Modules on DHI-VTO4202F-P-S2

Physical Wiring of the Modules

You will always start at the DHI-VTO4202F-P-S2 OUT, then go to the next module on the IN port. Continue this pattern for the rest of the Modules.

Programming the Modules

1. Go to the DHI-VTO4202F-P-S2 WEBUI

2. Login to the VTO

3. Go to Local Settings

4. Click on the next available entry under Facade Layout

5. Select the Modules in the order you have them Physically wired

6. If you have multiple modules select the next empty slot. The order is labeled on the image below

7. The modules will populate once added

8. To program the Five-Button Call Panel select the empty box

9. Pick the Room Number you’d like to link it to

10. Select the next box if you have several Rooms you’d like to link

11. Select the second room number

12. In order to save the programming you need to click on Confirm

3. Navigate over to Management Group Config

4. Select the User the Devices are setup with. In this guide we are using the “system” user. We will be using that number for forwarding the calls to the client.

5. Go to the VTH touch screen and enter the basic settings by tapping Setting

6. Go to Forward

7. Enter the number we located on step 4 and enable the status.

8. The calls will now be forwarded to DSS Pro Client

SD-M5 can wire to existing AC transformer of your doorbell, it supports wireless/Wi-Fi network connection, this greatly simplifies installation and saves money.

How to add smart doorbell to Hikvision NVR?

Adding smart doorbell camera is very simple, both smart doorbell and NVR should use the same IP network range, hence the NVR can discover the smart doorbell. For example, the NVR’s IP address is 192.168.2.10, then your smart doorbell’s IP address should be in the range of 192.168.2.1 – 192.168.2.255. It’s ideal to disable DHCP function on NVR and your network switch, assign a fixed IP address to the device manually. This can avoid IP address change after your devices reboot.

Obviously, checking or modifying the network configuration of your NVR and smart doorbell is very important. To check your Hikvision NVR’s network configuration, you should click “Menu”, “Configuration”, selecting “Network” tab. The picture below shows Hikvision NVR with IP 192.168.1.140 and with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0, the gateway address is 192.168.2.1.

Next, check the network settings of your smart doorbell, my Yoosee smart doorbell’s IP address 192.168.2.107, and subnet mask 255.255.255.0, the gateway is 192.168.2.1. According to the manual of the product, the doorbell’s ONVIF discovery port is 5000, and ONVIF account name is admin, the ONVIF password is its RTSP password. Prior to adding the smart doorbell to any other NVR and NAS, VMS as well, you should enable RTSP stream and set a new RTSP password to enable and secure local video streaming.

Now it’s time to add smart doorbell to your NVR/DVR, open the “menu”, select “camera”, then click on “Custom adding”, just input your smart doorbell’s network information as shown below: As you can see in the figure above, I have included the following information:IP camera address: 192.168.2.107

• Protocol: ONVIF
• Management port: 5000
• Transfer port: Auto
• Username: admin
• Password: <the smart doorbell rtsp password>

Enter all the information and click the “Add” button, your ONVIF smart doorbell is now added to the Hikvision NVR and you can check the status by looking at the icon, see the image below.

How to add smart doorbell to Dahua NVR/DVR?

Our Yoosee smart doorbell can be integrated with your Dahua IP video surveillance system, they’re able to delivery HD stream to your recorder 24 hourly. Here we share you the tutorial including step by step instructions on how to add smart doorbell to Dahua NVR. It should be noted that both smart doorbell and your Dahua NVR should be in the same network range, therefore they can communicate each other. Dahua NVR complies ONVIF protocol, it accepts IP cameras and smart doorbells from third-party.

From the main menu select “CAMERA”, select “REMOTE”, “Device Search”. The NVR will automatically discover and list the available IP camera or smart doorbell devices in the same local network. Find the IP address of your smart doorbell, click “Modify” to change its default password. Inputting the modified RTSP password then click “Add”, now you have successfully added Yoosee smart doorbell to the recorder. You can also manually add cameras by selecting manual add.

Input IP address of smart doorbell, username and password, for example:

• Channel: 6
• Manufacturer: Private
• IP Address: 192.168.2.107
• TCP Port: 5000
• User Name: admin
• Password: <smart doorbell RTSP password>
• Decode Buffer: Default
• Remote Channel No.: 1

PoE Injectors 802.3af

Smart doorbells are low power consumption devices which their maximum power rate is below 10watt, because of this reason, users can take advantage of PoE technology to have a cost-effective and maintenance-free video doorbell system. PoE stands for Power over Ethernet, as the prevalent technology in IT field (PoE for access points, IP telephone, network switches), 802.3af standard has been universally accepted and adopted by different manufacturers.

Smart doorbell has an Ethernet port and complies PoE

Users can choose any PoE injector that complies 802.3af standard. The PoE injectors support 48V, 500mA specification. The PoE injector has two Ethernet port; one LAN port to connect with your router/switch, another PoE port connects to your smart doorbell.

Smart doorbell has an Ethernet doesn’t support PoE

As long as your smart doorbell has an RJ45 port, you can take advantage of PoE by using a PoE injector and PoE splitter. The PoE splitter can split the power and data from Ethernet cable, it should be connected by the end of your smart doorbell.

If you have bought SD-M5 and SD-M3, please choose a standard PoE injector works on mode A (1,2,3,6). PoE injector works on mode A (End-span) utilizing data pairs 1-2 and 3-6 to deliver power. Both SD-M5 and SD-M3 cannot work with none-standard PoE injector (Mid-span) that utilizes 4,5,7,8 pairs.

Step by Step Instructions1. Open DMSS App then go to Me menu. If the DMSS are not logged, it is required to do so before proceeding to adding the device.

2.Tap on  Home, and tap on + button on the top right hand corner, then choose SN/Scan.

3. Scan the QR code of the device that located on the back of the doorbell.

4. For new device that has not been initialized, Tap on … icon on the top right corner and then tap on Switch to AP configuration to setup Wifi connection.

5. Make sure your device is connected to the power and the indicator light flashes blue. Tap on Next.

6. When a prompt comes up, Tap onJoin to continue.

7. Setup the device password.

8. Choose the WIFI network the DB11 will be connecting to.

9. Enter Wifi password and tap on Next to continue the setup.

10. Enter the user-defined Device Name. In the example, we use Dahua Doorbell.

11. Finalize the settings to complete the setup.

12. Select the existing door chime you have at the location. Electronic Chime or Mechanical Chime, or if you are using DS11-USA Wireless door chime, you should see this pop-up under Wireless Chime. Then tap on Save on the bottom.

13. Once setup is complete, you will be able to view the live view of your Doorbell Camera.

14. Go to Me > General. Make sure that the Notification Switch is enabled and now you should receive a call notification when doorbell button is pushed.

 iDMSS/gDMSS

Step by Step Instructions

How To Adjust Time Using VDPConfig

How To Upgrade Firmware In VDPConfig

Description

This guide will show you how to upgrade the firmware of a device using VDPConfig

Prerequisites

• Windows PC.

• VDP Config
• Dahua video intercom device on the same LAN as the PC

Step by Step Instructions

1. Open DahuaToolbox and click Open next to VDPConfig

2. Click the Upgrade icon on the left (Arrow)

3. Click Search Setting

4. Enter the password for the device then click OK

The window may refresh after entering a password

5. Check the box next to the device you wish to upgrade then click Browser to locate the firmware file

6. Use the window that appears to locate the firmware file

7. Click Upgrade

8. Upgrade Setup window will appear

Set Upgrade Type to Main Program

Clear Config must be enabled.

Check the box next Clear Config then click OK to begin the upgrade

9. The upgrade status will display via a progress bar

When the firmware upgrade is complete a green checkmark will appear next to the device

How To Modify System Settings In VDPConfig

Description

This guide will show you how to modify the system settings of a device over a local network using VDPConfig

System settings include:

• Time Settings (Set time, NTP, and DST settings)
• Device Maintenance (Reboot and Factory Default)
• Device Password (Modify and reset device password)
• Alarm Configuration

Prerequisites

• Windows PC.

Step by Step Instructions

1. Open DahuaToolbox and click Open next to VDPConfig

2. Click System Settings (screwdriver & wrench icon) on the left side of the screen

3. The Search Setting window will appear

4. Adjust the search parameters to discover the device then click OK

5. Discovered devices will appear in the device tree on the left

6. Click the  (triangle) icon to expand the device list

Check the box next to the device(s) you wish to modify

The message in the center of the screen will display how many devices are currently selected
