READ BEFORE UPDATING FIRMWARE——–IMPORTANT——— READ BEFORE UPDATING FIRMWARE

To choose the correct firmware for your 50/54/60/80 series camera, you will need to know the cameras hardware version and the firmware version already installed in the camera. You can get this information using the IPC tool for the cameras ‘Search Tools’.

SEARCH TOOLS:

Open Search Tools on a computer or laptop connected to the same network as the cameras.
Click ‘Start Search’ at the top left.
The cameras will appear on the list in the software.

A = The hardware version of the camera B = The firmware version and build date

Select a folder based on the hardware version of your camera to find available firmware updates.

How to add EVS to IVSS and DSS

Description

This article is to show user how to add EVS to IVSS unit as an extended storage.

Prerequisites

EVS Set Up as a Network Disk
DSS Hardware or Software

Video Instruction

Step by Step Instruction

1. Login to the IVSS

Click Settings (gear icon)

2. Select Storage

3. Select Network Hard Disk

4. Click on iSCSI Management

5. Click +Add

6. Enter Server IP – which is the EVS IP address

Enter the username/password created at EVS for Share Account during the previous step – EVS Set Up as a Network Disk

Click Search directory

Once connected it will show the available storage

7. Check the box to Choose the Storage Pool for your recording

Click OK

8. Click on the iSCSI Application tab to format the HDD

Check the box to select the Disk

Click Format and confirm the prompt

Formatting can take some time depending on HDD Size

Once complete the State will display as Normal

How to add EVS to DSS

Description

This article is to show user how to add EVS to DSS unit as an extended storage. In this tutorial, we are using DSS Pro UI.

Prerequisites

EVS with or without RAID setup.
DSS Hardware or Software

Step by Step Instruction

1. Locate EVS System Manager from web browser.

2. Click on IPSAN and choose Storage Pool. Click Add to create new Storage Pool.

3. Enter the Pool Name and select your RAID Array or individual disk that are available. Then, click OK.

4. The system will prompt you that all data in the HDD will be formatted, click OK to continue.

5. Your Storage Pool is now created. Repeat step #2 if you have multiple RAID Array or disk for your EVS.

6. Go to Share Account menu and then click on Add.

7. Enter Username and Password you wish to create for your Storage allocation, then click OK.

8. Your Share Account is now created.

9. Go to Share Folder menu and then click on Add.

10. Enter the Directory Name, and then select your storage pool that created on step 2. Choose Share Type to ISCSI, and do not select any share user. Then, click OK.

11. Your share folder is now created. Repeat step #10 if you have multiple storage pool created for your EVS.

12. Your EVS is now ready to be added to DSS.

13. Login to DSS Web Manager, and go to Storage.

14. Go to Storage Config and click on Add.

15. Enter EVS IP Address and username and password that created under Share Account in EVS (Step #7). Click OK.

16. DSS will retrieve all existing storage pool that created in EVS. Click on the brush icon to to format and initialize the HDD in DSS. You will be asked whether you want to set this storage pool for video recording or ANPR Picture.

  If you have multiple storage pool, you must click format on each storage pool.

17. Once HDD is formatted, the storage pool status will show Normal, and this is ready to use.

How to Add the Security System to APP HiLook Sannce

The article will introduce how to connect the system to the mobile phone. If you have a concern about the instruction, please submit a request here to the technical support for more details.

Please check the network status of the system. If the users want to view the cameras remotely, the status must be online. It could be checked on the Configuration–>Network–>Sannce Home–>Status:

If the network status is offline, here is the way to fix:

Please download the APP Sannce Home from Google Play or APP Store.
Please register the APP by using an email address or a phone number.
- Firstly, please select the country and region for the APP account. It should be in accordance with the region where you plan to install the system.
- Secondly, please click Login button. If you don’t have an account, please register the APP with an email address or a phone number. Besides, users need to agree on the privacy policy of the APP.
- Thirdly, please input the email address/phone number to get the security code.
- Fourthly, please set up a password for the APP account to finish the APP registration.
After the APP registration, please follow the below steps to add the system to the app. Here are 2 methods to add the system.

A: Adding by QR code

- Click the ‘+’ icon at the beginning:
- Scan the QR code of the device. The QR code could be found in the Sannce Home section.

B: Adding by Serial Number.

1. - Click the Manual Adding and input the Serial No
    .
  - Add the device to the APP if the scan is successful.
  - Click Finish to complete the device adding.
  - The users could create a name for the device, or they could skip it.
2. Finally, the cameras could be viewed on the APP.
3. If the app asks for a verification code, here is the way to find it.

How to create and find the verification code?

Please go to Platform Access, click ‘Enable’ and create a “verification code” by yourself. Please note the verification code must be set up, otherwise, the network status of the NVR can’t be online.

When the Status is ‘Online‘, this system can be accessed remotely via the APP.

Tips:

1. If you don’t want to enter the verification code each time when remote view the camera, please uncheck stream encryption.

2. The special characters are not allowed when setting up the verification code.

1. How do I install my DCS-8xxxLH-series camera?

2. Note This FAQ is based on the mydlink app version 1.5.4 (build 109) from Android (v8.0.0). The iOS version may look a little different.
  
  To setup your camera with the mydlink app, follow the steps below:
  
  Step 1: Launch the mydlink app. Log in with your mydlink account username and password. This will be the same username and password if you have used the mydlink Lite or mydlink Home app. If you have never created a mydlink account, you can create one.
  
  Step 2: Tap the settings icon (3 lines in the upper left corner).
  
  Step 3: Select Add a Device.
  
  Step 4: Tap Yes to scan the QR code.The QR code is located on the label on the bottom of the camera or on the Wi-Fi configuration card included with the product. If the label or card are missing, tap No and select from the drop-down list.
  
  Step 5: If you tapped Yes, scan the QR code. If you are having trouble scanning the QR code, move to a brighter lit area. If you tapped No, select the camera model from the list.
  
  Step 6: Tap Next. Please wait about a minute (or less).
  
  Step 7: Tap Device Location to select where your camera will be setup. Select from the list or scroll to the bottom and tap Add Location to create your own.
  
  Step 8: Tap Choose Your Wi-Fi Network. Select the WiFi network you want to connect the camera to (note this should be the same network that your mobile device running this app is on). Enter the Wi-Fi password and then tap Next.
  
  Step 9: If you want this camera to be displayed on the “Home” screen, tap Add to Shortcut (checked by default). Tap Next at the bottom to continue.
  
  Step 10: The camera will now save your Wi-Fi settings, and then bind to your mydlink account. This process can take up to 3 minutes.
  
  Note: If you receive an error during the Setup Wi-Fi process, make sure you are entering the Wi-Fi password correctly. Remember it is case-sensitive. Also make sure the camera is within range of your wireless router, and that the router has DHCP enabled and does not have any filtering which may block the camera from connecting.
  
  If you receive an error during the Binding process, this usually means the camera cannot connect to the mydlink servers. It is best to reboot your router, close the mydlink app, and reset the camera (hold a paperclip in the reset hole for 10 seconds and release. The LED on the back should turn red). Once your router has rebooted, open the mydlink app and set it the camera again. If you continue to get errors, please contact D-Link support at 1-877-453-5465. Support is free and available 24/7.
  
  Step 11: Once the camera setup is finished, the following message will appear. If you want to add the camera to cloud recording, tap Yes, or tap Later.
  
  Step 12: If you tapped Yes, a new Automation will be created to record video detected by motion to your cloud recording subscription (free or paid). Tap the check mark at the top right corner to finish setup.

  When you first install your camera, motion detection as well as the automation rule (record and notification) is automatically setup. To enable/edit motion detection, follow the steps below:
  
  Step 1: Launch the mydlink app.
  
  Step 2: Tap Devices at the bottom of the home screen or tap the menu in the upper left corner, tap Devices. You can also tap the camera in your shortcuts and tap the live video to access the camera settings (skip to step 5).
  
  Step 3: Tap Camera.
  
  Step 4: Select the camera from the dial and then tap the gear icon
  
  Step 5: Tap Motion Setting.
  
  Step 6: Tap where you want to detect motion (represented by a orange square). Then select the sensitivity (0-100, 100 being the most sensitive). Once finished, tap < (iOS) or tap the back button (Android) to save your settings.
  
  Step 7: Your settings will be saved.
  
  Note: To turn “off” motion detection, tap the Clear All button, and then change the sensitivity to 0. Tap back to save your settings.

  To view videos from the mydlink cloud, follow the steps below:
  
  Step 1: Launch the mydlink app.
  
  Step 2: Tap the menu icon in the upper left corner. You can also tap Event & Video at the bottom.
  
  Step 3: Tap Event & Video.
  
  Step 4: Tap Event.
  
  Step 5: At the top, select the day you want to view video from. The videos will be listed newest to oldest and will display if detected by motion or sound. Tap the video to watch it.
  
  Step 6: You can perform the following on the view video screen:
  - Rotate your device to view full screen
  - Tap the Share icon to send the video via email, text, and other services installed on your device such as YouTube and Instagram
  - Tap the Favorite icon (star) in the upper right to mark the video as a favorite
  - Tap the Camera icon to save an image from the video
  - Tap the play/pause button to pause and play the video

  Step 2: Tap the menu icon on the top left.
  
  Step 3: Tap Settings.
  
  Step 4: Tap Automation.
  
  Step 5: Tap the + sign.
  
  Step 6: Tap the + sign to add a new rule.
  
  Step 7: Tap the icon next to the trigger type you want (motion or sound detection), then tap Next. In this example, the DCS-8000LH motion detection is selected.
  
  Note: You can select multiple events.
  
  Step 8: Tap the icon next to the event action you want, then tap Next. In this example, Recording (records video to the cloud) and Push Notification (sends a push notification to the device with the mydlink app) are selected.

Emergency Firmware Upgrade
All Cobra Compact Models – ZIP file
Use this when the unit isn’t starting up, or when instructed by a technician. To install, open the zip file, drag the ‘EMERGENCY_FW_UPGRADE’ folder across to your USB stick. Turn off the machine and insert the USB, then turn back on. The screen will advise what to do next. This will return the unit to factory default settings. The contents of your USB stick should look like this:

This method of updating a Cobra DVR wipes the system configuration and overwrites the operating system. Recorded footage is kept as this does not affect the HDD.

Download the correct Emergency Update file for your DVR from www.cctvcommunity.co.uk. Check you have the right model name.
Plug a USB memory stick into your PC. The filesystem must be in FAT32 format.
Open the .zip file from your Downloads folder. Inside this file is another folder, named EMERGENCY_FW_UPGRADE
Extract this folder to the USB drive. You can do this by drag-and-drop, or use the Extract option at the top of the window.
Turn off power to the DVR and insert the USB stick into any port on the DVR.
Turn on the power and wait for a black screen and white text to be displayed.
Wait until the message changes and the DVR starts beeping.
Remove the USB stick and reboot the DVR.

VMS for Windows

Install

Download the latest installer from www.cctvcommunity.co.uk
Double click on the file named (e.g.) VMS_300.exe
Follow the installation prompts through to completion. When asked if you want to install the ‘K-Lite Codec Pack’, you should tick this box if using Windows XP, 7 or 8.

Upgrade from a previous version

Download the latest installer from www.cctvcommunity.co.uk
Double click on the file named (e.g.) VMS_300.exe
Follow the prompts to uninstall the existing version. It will ask you if you want to remove the address file – make sure this stays un-ticked.
Double click again on the file from step 2
Follow the installation prompts through to completion.

Configure

Double click the VMS icon on your desktop
Enter the Administrator password ‘1111111’ (seven ones). Tick the box for ‘Skip user login’ if you don’t want this prompt to appear again.
On the top menu, click Setup, Site Manager
Click ‘Add/edit’
If you know the login details of the DVR, click ‘Add’ then type them in. If you need to locate the DVR on the local network, click Search then add the IP address from the right hand side.
Close all the site manager windows
In the main window, right-click the name of the DVR under Connect List and select Video Start. You can also double-click on the site name to show the cameras below, then drag-and-drop them into the viewing grid.

Install

Download the latest installer from www.cctvcommunity.co.uk
Double click on the file named (e.g.) RMS_440.exe
Follow the installation prompts through to completion. When asked if you want to install the ‘K-Lite Codec Pack’, you should tick this box if using Windows XP, 7 or 8.

Upgrade from a previous version

Double click on the file named (e.g.) RMS_440.exe

Configure

Double-click the RMS icon on your desktop
Click the Site button at the bottom left of the window
Press Add, then fill in the boxes above with the connection details of the DVR
Press Add again, then Connect
The next time you open the program, the Connect button will start viewing the last DVR you selected in the Site window.

MacViewer for MacOS

Install

Download the latest Macviewer package from www.cctvcommunity.co.uk
Open your Downloads folder, or click the Downloads button at the top right of the window
Double click on (e.g.) MacViewer2.0_v1.0.1.pkg
Follow the prompts to install. If you get a security warning about the file being from an unknown publisher:
1. Click the search icon on the MacOS toolbar, top right
2. Type in ‘security’ – this will find the Security and Privacy preferences window
3. If the settings are greyed out, click the padlock and enter your Mac password
4. Click on the ‘Open anyway’ button – this should run the installer and may prompt for your password again
Once installed, click the search icon on the taskbar again and type ‘macviewer’ and click on the first result

Configure

Click the site button and press Add
Type in the connection details for your DVR
Click add again, then connect

By USB

Download the correct .bin file from www.cctvcommunity.co.uk for your model
Save it on to a USB memory stick. Do not put it in a folder.
Insert the USB stick into the front port of the DVR
Right click the mouse to bring up the menu
Go into Setup and then System
Click Upgrade ‘Firmware’ button
Click on the filename, then on Yes to confirm.

By Network

Download the correct .bin file from www.cctvcommunity.co.uk
Open Internet Explorer and enter the IP address of the DVR
Click DVR Web Service, login with the admin account and password
Click on Setup, then System, then System below that.
Click Upgrade ‘Firmware’ button
Click browse, select the .bin file you have downloaded.
