How to reset TVI DVR/ POE NVR / Wireless NVR (ZSWNVK-H) System when you forgot the password?

1) You can find the correct model number on the label at the bottom of the DVR / NVR System.

2) Find the DVR / NVR’s device ID/UID.

A. You can find the DVR’s ID on the label of the DVR / NVR.

3) Please send us the model number and device ID / UID, we will create a super password for you.

    NOTE: The User Name corresponding to super password must be ‘admin’.

                 Once you set super password this time, the login password should be blank

                 in the next time when you reboot it or log in again.

                 You can go to DVR’s Main Menu – Setup – User – Change password to set a new

                 password. (Please keep the old password blank, you just need to input the new

                 password and confirm password.)

If your CCTV DVR or NVR don’t have a built-in WiFi support, then you have to run internet cable (CAT 5 or CAT 6 Ethernet cable) to connect your DVR or NVR to the internet via the router.

• Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet input on the back of the DVR.
• Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into a device providing an active internet connection, such as a router or modem.
• Test your internet connection to confirm that it is active by going to the Network > Network screen.

1) Right click mouse—go to Main Menu > Setup > Network.

2) On the Network tab, ensure the “Obtain an IP Address Automatically” option is enabled, and that there is no information in the PPPoE fields.

3) Once you’ve ensured there is no information in the PPPoE field and that the “Obtain and IP Address Automatically” option is selected, select the “Test” option.

If “OK” is displayed, the local area network is connected successfully.

If the DVR is not able to connect to the internet, you will get a message that states “Cannot Connect to Network”.

NOTE:

In order for other devices to connect to the DVR through the router, the DHCP setting must be enabled from the router’s settings page.

If you still cannot connect to the network, please ensure that you don’t have a firewall active on your network that may be limiting the connection.

You may need to open ports 80, 5000, and 5001 on your router, if they’re currently being blocked by te firewall. This typically only happens on commercial internet accounts, as they deal with sensitive transactions, but occasionally a firewall on a residential line will also block these ports.

If you’re unsure how to open ports on your router, you will need to speak with the router manufacturer.

FAQ:

1) What’s DHCP?

DHCP is a type of internet networking approach. It stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. It means that a router assigns IP addresses to each of the devices on the network, allowing them to communicate with other devices in or outside the network.

In context of our systems, the setting related to DHCP is called DHCP server status. This setting enables your router to obtain the static IP address on the DVR and broadcast that IP to the app so it can locate your DVR. This setting needs to be enabled on a router for the apps to be able to connect to the DVR systems.

2) For example: How to set up a linksys E5350 Router?

Once you’ve logged into the router settings, you’ll want to select “configuration” at the top, and then “Connection > Local Network” in the menu on the left. You should see this page:

You’ll want to ensure the checkbox beside “DHCP server” is checked off, and set the start IP address to 100 as shown in the image. Leaving the other settings here as they default should be fine. Once this is done, select “save.” Before proceeding with the next steps, try using the app while not connected to local WiFi. If you can see the live feeds, you don’t need to complete the steps below.

If you can’t, you’ll need to open the ports in the firewall. On the left menu, select “Security”, and then “Single Port forwarding” as shown in this image:

Select the button on this page for “Add a new Single Port Forwarding”, and this window should appear:

The number you want to enter in the “To IP Address” field is the last three digits of the DVR’s static IP, which you can find on the Network page of the DVR. (Main Menu > Setup > Network)

Application and protocol can be left as they are, and you’ll want to check off the “enabled” box. You’ll need to do this 3 times, using the following information:

When the DVR boots up, the user must login and the system provides the corresponding functions with the user purview.

The default user name of the factory equipment is admin, and the default password is blank. You can directly log in to the system when you log in to the system for the first time after starting up.

After entering the preview status , double-click the left mouse button to choose the switch between the windows. The system date, time and channel name are shown in each viewing window. The surveillance video and the alarm status are shown in each window.

The Setup Menu is where you will control most of the settings and recordings on your Zosi NVR system.

Basic – Customize personal settings, as well as date and time information.

Live – Contains settings to change display layouts and colour settings.

Record – Set up recording options for your channels.

Schedule – Determine the times your cameras will be active. The default is 24/7.

Alarm– Configure alarm settings for each channel.

Network– View settings related to the NVR’s network connection.

Users– Add and remove users.

Advanced Setup – Reset the NVR to factory default settings and backup your NVR settings to USB.

Zosi NVR Operation – Setup > Basic

The Setup > Basic menu allows you to control the basic functions of your NVR through the three tabs.

Basic > System

The Basic > System tab enables you to change the date and time settings for your Zosi NVR, along with other customization options.

Basic > System Menu

The Basic > System menu contains several settings to personalize your Zosi NVR.

The options, from top to bottom are as follows:

1. System Type: The name of your Zosi device. Left click to bring up the virtual keyboard to change the device name. Confirm and save changes by selecting the enter button.

2. System Number: The default is one, or you can manually enter a system number. Left click to bring up the virtual number pad to change the system number. Confirm and save changes by selecting the OK button.

3. Video Format: The option is set by the manufacturer depending on region. The default is locked to AUTO to ensure regional compatibility.

4. Password Check: Select whether you want to protect NVR access with a password. If selected you will need to input the password when accessing the NVR’s menus.

5. Show System Time: Select whether to display the current time on screen. The default is set to enable time display on screen.

6. Max Online Users: Select how many users can simultaneously access the NVR through the Mobile App. The default is set to 10.

7. Video Output: Select the output resolution. The NVR will default to outputting the highest resolution the NVR is capable of.

8. Language:  Select the language you want the menus to be displayed in.

9. Logout After [Minutes]: Determine how long you want to stay logged into your Zosi NVR system before automatically logging out.

10. Setup Wizard: Select whether you want to Setup Wizard to appear the next time the NVR is powered on.

Basic > Date and Time

This menu will allow you to adjust the time settings for your Zosi NVR.

Basic Date and Time Menu

Date Format: Select between different formats to display the date. The options are:

• • DD-MM-YY (default)
  • YY-MM-DD
  • MM-DD-YY

Time Format: Select between a 12 hour and 24 hour formats.

Time Zone: Select your current timezone.

Sync Time with NTP Server: Automatically update your system date and time with this feature. Check the box to sync the system time with an internet server. The default NTP server is provided by Windows.

NTP Server: Ensures you have an accurate system time. The default server is time.windows.com. It is recommended you use the default server. You can change the setting by left-clicking with the mouse, and inputting a new server using the virtual keyboard.

Update Now: Select this option after entering a new NTP Server to enable and save your changes.

System Date: Select the selected system date. To change the date click the calendar icon and select the accurate date from the calendar menu using the mouse.

System Time: Displays the current system time.

Basic > DST

Use this page to determine time changes caused by Daylight Savings time

1. Enable: Select whether you want to enable the tracking of Daylight Savings Time on your system time.
2. Time Offset [Hours]: Determine how many hours you want to offset the time. The default is 1.
3. Mode: Select whether you want the DST settings to take effect on the week of Daylight Savings Time or on an exact date.
4. From: Determine Daylight Savings starting time by clicking the calendar icon and selecting the appropriate date from the calendar menu.
5. Until: Determine Daylight Savings end time by clicking the calendar icon  and selecting the appropriate date from the calendar menu.

The Setup > Live menu allows you to customize settings related to the NVR’s Live View page.

Personalize the names of your cameras and change colour settings.

Please note: The above video was created for use with the Zosi DVR system, but also displays the same Live > Live menu used with certain models of Zosi NVRs.

1. Channel List: List of available channels.

2.Camera Name: Select the text field to name the channel using the virtual keyboard. Select “Enter” to confirm your changes.

3. Colour: Select Setting to alter the Brightness, Hue, Saturation, Contrast and Sharpness settings for the selected channel. Select ‘OK’ to confirm changes.

Choose between several different display options for the Live View and Scan screens.

1. Display Mode: Select how many channels are displayed while using the Scan feature found in the Quick Menu. View up to 9 screens at once in a 3×3 formation.

2. Channel Selection: Select where each channel displays. Selecting different configurations using the Display Mode drop-down menu will give more options in the Channel Selection box.

3. Interval[S]: The amount of time in seconds before changing to another channel while using the Scan feature. The default is 5 seconds.

4: Groups: Use the blue arrows to the right and left of the Interval box to switch between each separate group of your Scan. Each group can be individually customized using the other options. You can see which group you’re on in the top right corner, or when you hover over one of the blue arrows.

The picture below shows 4 IP cameras connected to the NVR.

The process is straightforward; you can use the IPC Channel menu to do that.

You can have your IP cameras up and running in less than 5 minutes.

To have your IP cameras working in a Zosi NVR, the first thing you need to do is connect the UTP (network) cables that come in the Kit to the NVR PoE Ports.

The following picture shows the PoE ports at the back of the NVR.

Once you’ve done that, you can just plug the power supply, a mouse, and a monitor to the NVR and use the IPC channel menu to search and add the IP cameras.

Right-click the mouse and select “IPC Channel Config” on the floating menu.

The IPC channel menu comes up.

On the right side, there’s an empty area where the IP cameras are going to show up as soon as you click the search button and wait for the NVR to look for them.

The NVR takes some seconds to look for the camera that is connected to its PoE ports. Just wait for this process to finish.

As soon as the NVR finds the IP cameras, you just need to select the one you want to add, input the username and password (default admin/admin), and click “Add“.

As you can see in the picture, camera number 4 was added to the NVR.

And it’s done.

Now, you just need to come back to the main screen to see the camera.
