<p class="wysiwyg-text-align-left"><span class="wysiwyg-color-red"><strong>B.</strong></span> Or you can also reboot the DVR / NVR system and wait until Wizard Page display, then find the <strong>UID</strong>.</p>

<p>If your CCTV DVR or NVR don&#8217;t have a built-in WiFi support, then you have to run internet cable (CAT 5 or CAT 6 Ethernet cable) to connect your DVR or NVR to the internet via the router.</p>

<li>Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet input on the back of the DVR.</li>
<li>Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into a device providing an active internet connection, such as a router or modem.</li>
<li>Test your internet connection to confirm that it is active by going to the <a style="box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: #0072ef; text-decoration: none;" title="Network &gt; Network" href="https://www.zositech.com/dvr-operation-network-network" target="_blank" rel="dofollow noopener"><strong>Network &gt; Network</strong></a> screen.</li>
</ul>
<p>1) Right click mouse—go to <strong>Main Menu</strong> &gt; <strong>Setup</strong> &gt; <strong>Network</strong>.</p>

<p>2) On the Network tab, ensure the “<strong>Obtain an IP Address Automatically</strong>” option is enabled, and that there is no information in the PPPoE fields.</p>
<p>3) Once you’ve ensured there is no information in the PPPoE field and that the “Obtain and IP Address Automatically” option is selected, select the “<strong>Test</strong>” option.</p>
<p>If &#8220;<strong>OK</strong>&#8221; is displayed, the local area network is connected successfully.</p>
<p>If the DVR is not able to connect to the internet, you will get a message that states “<strong>Cannot Connect to Network</strong>”.</p>

<p>In order for other devices to connect to the DVR through the router, the DHCP setting must be enabled from the router&#8217;s settings page.</p>
<p>If you still cannot connect to the network, please ensure that you don’t have a firewall active on your network that may be limiting the connection.</p>
<p>You may need to open ports 80, 5000, and 5001 on your router, if they’re currently being blocked by te firewall. This typically only happens on commercial internet accounts, as they deal with sensitive transactions, but occasionally a firewall on a residential line will also block these ports.</p>
<p>If you’re unsure how to open ports on your router, you will need to speak with the router manufacturer.</p>
<p><span class="wysiwyg-color-red"><strong>FAQ:</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>1) What&#8217;s <a href="https://www.nvripc.com/security-camera-installation-guides-v2/">DHCP</a>?</strong></p>
<p>DHCP is a type of internet networking approach. It stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. It means that a router assigns IP addresses to each of the devices on the network, allowing them to communicate with other devices in or outside the network.</p>
<p>In context of our systems, the setting related to DHCP is called DHCP server status. This setting enables your router to obtain the static IP address on the DVR and broadcast that IP to the app so it can locate your DVR. This setting needs to be enabled on a router for the apps to be able to connect to the DVR systems.</p>
<p><strong>2) For example: How to set up a linksys E5350 Router?</strong></p>
<p>Once you&#8217;ve logged into the router settings, you&#8217;ll want to select &#8220;configuration&#8221; at the top, and then &#8220;Connection &gt; Local Network&#8221; in the menu on the left. You should see this page:</p>

<p>You&#8217;ll want to ensure the checkbox beside &#8220;DHCP server&#8221; is checked off, and set the start IP address to 100 as shown in the image. Leaving the other settings here as they default should be fine. Once this is done, select &#8220;save.&#8221; Before proceeding with the next steps, try using the app while not connected to local WiFi. If you can see the live feeds, you don&#8217;t need to complete the steps below.</p>
<p>If you can&#8217;t, you&#8217;ll need to open the ports in the firewall. On the left menu, select &#8220;Security&#8221;, and then &#8220;Single Port forwarding&#8221; as shown in this image:</p>

<p>The number you want to enter in the &#8220;To IP Address&#8221; field is the last three digits of the DVR&#8217;s static IP, which you can find on the Network page of the DVR. (Main Menu &gt; Setup &gt; Network)</p>
<p>Application and protocol can be left as they are, and you&#8217;ll want to check off the &#8220;enabled&#8221; box. You&#8217;ll need to do this 3 times, using the following information:</p>

Internal Port: 80</p>

Application Name: DVR Mobile<br />
External Port: 5000<br />

<p>After filling the box with the necessary info for each port, select &#8220;apply&#8221;, and then hit the add button again to reopen the window. Once all 3 ports are opened, try testing the app again.</p>

<p>Please follow these steps to troubleshoot</p>
<p>Please check if the white antenna on the camera is loose first.</p>
<p>1)Cover the sensor under lens on the camera to see if the light is lit or not.</p>
<p>If it&#8217;s bright, it means camera is not bad.</p>
<p>If it&#8217;s not lit,You can connect the power of a good camera to the bad camera.</p>

<p>3.Right click the mouse again &gt; wireless add &gt; wait the screen show a new camera IP address 172.20.14.**</p>
<p>4. if no IP address, pls reset camera for several times,</p>
<p>After adding the camera successfully, you can exit the add camera interface</p>

<p>1）Check the power adapter connected to the NVR box. The NVR box uses 12V 2A or 12V 3A power supply. If you connect the 12V 1A cameras&#8217; power supply to the NVR, the NVR box will not provide enough power to drive the hard drive.</p>

<p>There are four methods to view the camera system remotely. Please refer to these step below.</p>

<p>1) First you need to connect the NVR with your router by wired or WiFi</p>
<p>Wired connection</p>
<p>1. wired connection, connect the NVR with router by ethernet cable</p>
<p>2. right click your NVR mouse choose fast network, then click auto config, check cloud ID status is online and network is healthy, then you can remotely check the system on your phone app</p>
<p>3. if not online and healthy network, please click manual configure, and check your router detail,</p>
<p>make sure the NVR and your router is the same IP gateway, IP address the first 3 number should be the same, the last one can&#8217;t be the same ,. preferred DNS please change to 8.8.8.8 and apply it</p>
<p>WiFi connection</p>
<p>1. please notes our NVR only can work with 2.4Ghz wifi network,</p>
<p>2. right click your NVR mouse choose system setup&#8211;network setup&#8211;wireless internet &#8211;enable wireless LAN, then find your house wifi name, input password, apply it</p>
<p>（please note the wifi name can not included any special character ,such as &#8220;_&#8221;, otherwise it will show connected failed.）</p>
<p>3. check the status is connect failed or success, if it is failed, please click view details,</p>
<p>check the same wifi network details on your phone and your NVR, then change them to the same IP gateway, IP address the first 3 number should be the same, the last one can&#8217;t be the same ,. preferred DNS please change to 8.8.8.8 and apply it</p>

<p>You can set up three modes of record plan</p>
<p>Note：After you have set up the record plan, you need to click &#8220;copy to&#8221; to apply the record plan to all channels.</p>

<p>Setup period of time of recording on NVR,Right Click the mouse&gt;System Setup&gt;Record Setup&gt;Record Plan.</p>
<p>Click Time and put mouse icon on the upper left corner(for example 1 as picture shows).press and drag the mouse to the right to choose the time.the list will turn to red.</p>
<p>2) Motion Recording:</p>
<p>Only detect motion and then start recording. Right click mouse&gt;System Setup&gt;Record Setup&gt;Record Plan.</p>
<p>Click Motion and putr mouse icon on the upper left corner, press and drag the mouse to the right to choose the time. The list will turn to green.</p>
<p>3) Alarm Recording:</p>
<p>Riht click the mouse&gt;System setup&gt;Record Setup&gt;Record Plan.</p>
<p>Click Alarm and put mouse icon on the upper left corner,Press and drag the mouse to the choose the time,The list will turn to yellow.</p>
<p>Note: Users can Setup any period of time they want, for example 0:00:00-23:59:59, That’s 24hrs*7days recording. When NVR detects hard disk, the default setting will be 24hrs*7days recording.</p>
<p>The priority of Alarm is higher than that of Motion, and the priority of Motion is higher than that of Time.</p>
<p>When you have set the corresponding record mode, you can click &#8220;select all&#8221;, and the time area below will become the corresponding color</p>

If you connect with wifi network, you need go to <strong>System Setup</strong>&#8212;<strong>Network Setup</strong>&#8212;<strong>Wireless Internet</strong> page click <strong>View Details</strong> and click <strong>Manually </strong>to change those information.</li>
<li><strong>Request DNS Error: </strong>disable <strong>DHCP</strong>, change the <strong>Preferred DNS</strong> to <strong>8.8.8.8</strong>, reboot the NVR and router.</li>
<li><strong>Network Cable Disconnect: </strong>make sure the NVR connect with router by Ethernet cable</li>
<li><strong>Network Card Not Found: </strong>on <strong>Network Setup</strong> page find <strong>PPPoE </strong>disable it.</li>
<li><strong>Network Busy: </strong>disable <strong>DHCP</strong>, change the <strong>Preferred DNS</strong> to <strong>8.8.8.8</strong>, reboot the NVR and router.</li>

Click on Input PWD button and input the temporary username and password you received. After you check the Status, the IPC will showing connected. Go to Camera option and click the icon under User column of the desired IPC then modify the password. Or click the icon under Maintenance column of desired IPC and click Factory Default. Once IPC user account modified or factory defaulted, you need to go back to the Channel list and input the new password by clicking Input PWD button if you modify the account. If the IPC is factory defaulted, then remove the existing IPC and search and add it again.</p>

<p>When you try to login with incorrect password, the NVR GUI will display the error code. Submit the form with the error code and you will receive temporary login password in your email. Login with the temporary username and password then right click on the video preview screen and select System Setup. Click User under General menu. Select the user you need to modify, then click Edit button. Input the new username and password. And save the settings. Or go to Maintenance under System menu. Then click Reset Factory button.</p>

<h1 data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">Acquiring the reset code</h1>
<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">The reset code on new recorders is acquired primarily by using the relevant client software on a Windows PC or Mac computers. Other methods exist, but they usually require a level of networking knowledge over what we expect customers need to operate their system.</p>
<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">The reset code itself is a unique 12 character string that is generated by the unique hardware identifier of the network interface of the device, known as the MAC address.</p>

<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">If you are using a <b>Windows computer</b> and haven&#8217;t installed HomeSafe View yet, follow this article instead:<br />

<p>Once you have HomeSafe View software open, proceed below</p>
<h2 data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">Using the software</h2>
<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">The first time you run HomeSafe View, you will see this screen.</p>

<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">Click on <strong>Next</strong>. A new window will show up. Click on <strong>Add online device </strong>located at the upper left.</p>

<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a"> Once your DVR shows on the list, click it once to see the <em>MAC Address </em>at the right side.</p>

<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">Copy down any MAC address starting with the characters &#8217;00-23-63&#8242; or &#8216;BC-51-FE&#8217; first, then any others. Replace the dashes (-) with colons (:).</p>
<h3 data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">Entering the reset code</h3>
<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">You now use what you wrote down in the previous step to initiate a password reset on the recorder. On the Login interface, click <strong>Forgot Password</strong>.</p>
<h3 data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">On the recorder:</h3>

<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">The reset code needs to be entered after clicking Forgot Password. Enter it in the Super Password field. Letters are in UPPERCASE with the colons (e.g <strong>BC:51:FE:11:22:33</strong>).</p>

<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">If the window you see looks similar to the image below, you are in the wizard. The reset code <strong>CANNOT</strong> be entered in this area. Make sure to setup your new password and click <strong>NEXT</strong>. You can cancel the rest of the Setup Wizard if you want.</p>

<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a"> Cancel the wizard then open the right-click menu and select <em>Main Menu</em> <em>(home button) </em>to access the login window.</p>
<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">Once you enter in the &#8220;admin&#8221; username and reset code, the recorder will reboot. That indicates that the reset is successful and you will be presented with the window to enter a starting password after the recorder has finished rebooting.</p>
<h2 data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">Notes</h2>
<p data-aura-rendered-by="75:204;a">You will need to re-enter a new password every time you reset the password. The reset code <strong>CANNOT</strong> be used to login to the recorder nor can it be used for remote access.</p>

<p><span style="vertical-align: inherit;">If you want to watch the security cameras connected to your Vguard recorder on your computer, you can download the necessary software from the link below and install it on your computer.</span></p>
<p><span style="vertical-align: inherit;">Vguard CMS software username and password:</span></p>
<p><span style="vertical-align: inherit;">CMS Username: </span><strong><span style="vertical-align: inherit;"> admin</span></strong><br />

<p><strong><span style="vertical-align: inherit;">Monitoring from Vguard Mobile Devices</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="vertical-align: inherit;">You can download the Android or IOS application required for monitoring from Vguard Mobile Device below.</span></p>

<p><span style="vertical-align: inherit;">If you are going to monitor remotely with your mobile device using a fixed ip, not from the local network, you need to forward this port (5801) number through the router.</span></p>

<p>If you forgot your NVR password, you may refer to the following two methods to reset your password.</p>

<p><strong>Step 1. </strong>Reboot your device and make sure you can see the live-view on the monitor screen.</p>
<p class="reo-panel-primary"><strong>Note</strong>: Please stay on live view page through the whole process. Please make sure that the NVR system is on live view page instead of the logging page while pressing the button<br />
Press the USB mouse and make sure that all icons are hidden and the NVR is in live view on the monitor.</p>

<p><strong>Step 2. </strong>Remove the outer casing of the NVR using the screwdriver.</p>

<p>If you forget the password of Reolink NVR, you may create a super password via Super Password application, then use it to reset your NVR password and set a new password.</p>

<p>Here we will guide you to reset the password of your PoE NVR by using the super password in the following steps.</p>
