How to Install xmeye poe nvr systems

1.Power on the NVR with the 48Vor 52V power adapter.

2.Connect your NVR to the router.

3.Connect the NVR to a monitor via VGA or HDMI cables.

4. Connect the PoE Cameras to the NVR with the PoE Ethernet cables.

5.Switch on the NVR and turn on the monitor.

6.lf your monitor doesn’t have a speaker, you can connect a speaker to the 3.5mm “AUDIO OUT” port to get sound from the recorded video.

Getting Started Settings

At your first login to the system, there will be a quick guide to help you set up the basic information of your NVR.

Time Setup

Please adjust the time and date to be the same as your local.

Network

On this page you could see the network information about your system. Click “Next” to continue.

Install XMeye App

Scan QR code of the App to download the app.After the app downloaded, please create your own profile account on the app. And then scan the QR code of the serial number of the NVR to add it into the app. Please ensure the NVR is online before you watch videos of it on the App.

CameralChannel Setting

Before installing your cameras to the final position, please check and adjust the position and the angle of the cameras.

Display

Adjust the display settings of the monitor images

General Setting

In the General Settings, you can change the language, the action when the storage is full and the auto logout intervals if you want to get a better protection of your NVR.

Record Configuration

In the Record Configuration, you can set up the record mode for each channel to save space of the HDD and only record the important videos. 

Channel: The channel which you want to do settings of record configuration.

Length: The standard length of each video segment.

Mode:The way you want to record videos. 

1.Schedule:The selected channel will only record during the chosen time period.

2.Manual: The selected channel will record 24/7.

3.Stop:The selected channel will not record any video.

*Notice: If you would like to set the recording mode to “Alarm”, please make sure that you have enabled the alarm function of the corresponding channel.

Alarm settings

lntelligentAlert

The Al smart security camera system supports intelligent alerts.such as human detection and face detection. In order to adjust the related settings, please enter “Intelligent Alert “in “Alarm” menu.

Channel:Choose the camera which you want to do alert settings. 

Enable:When you tick off it , the camera will not detect any movements. 

Human Detect:The camera will detect human activities by recognizing humanoid body shape.

Face Detection:The camera will detect human face when this is ticked. 

Record: When this option is ticked on, the camera will record a video segment when human detected. 

Mobile Reported: When it is ticked on, the camera will send alert notifications to your mobile app when it detects movements or human activities.

Alarm Sound: When it is ticked on, the camera will sound a voice alarm when it detects movements or human activities.

Sensitivity:Adjust the detection sensitivity of the camera. 

Rule:Set advanced detection rules like safe zone or line cross alarm. 

*Notice: If the “Enable” option is on and the “Human Detect” is off, the camera will detect all movements, including pets, vehicles, plants, trees, etc. Therefore, we recommend you to active “Human Detect” to reduce false alerts. It shows that “Human Detect” function can reduce 98%-99% of the false alerts.

Advanced Settings of Human Detection

Period: The time period of the detection. 

MD Interval: The interval between 2 human motion movements alerts. 

PostRec: To adjust the length of the video after the camera detects abnormal movements.

Tour: Not applicable. 

Snapshot: When it is ticked on, the camera will take snapshots when it detects abnormal movements. 

Send Email: When it is ticked on, the camera will send alerts to your e-mail address. 

Buzzer: When it is ticked on, the NVR will make beeps alarm after the camera detects abnormal movements.

On screen of the monitor with live video , you can view the human faces detected by the cameras. You can easily and quickly get whether the persons detected by the camera are your friends or an intruder. If it is an intruder, the face detection function can help take some actions as soon as possible to protect your safety and property. Please follow the path below to enable the “Face Detection”.

When the cameras detect human faces, the NVR will show you these faces on the right side of the screen like the image above.

How to Set Up Your Email to Receive Alert Notifications

Please follow the paths below to set up the email which you want to get alerts from the security camera system.

Right-Click Menu > Main Menu > Network > Net Service > EMAIL (Please OUBLE CLICK on “EMAIL” to enter the setting interface)

Please enter the required information of your emails in the “User Name” “Sender” and “Receiver”.
If you want to receive the alert notifications with an email different from sender email address, you can input a different email in the “Receiver”.
In the “Password”, you need a 16 digits App password. Let’s take “Gmail “as an example to show you how to get this password.

*Notice: Each e-mail service provider has its own SMTP server, port and encryption. You can find these information easily on Google. In this manual, we will show you these information of several common used e-mail service. camera is lost connection.

How To Get 16-Digit App Password

Enable IMAP access of your e-mail.

Log into your Google account. In “Security” section, find “Signing in to Google”.

If the “2-Step Verification” is off, please enable it.

Enter ”App passwords”. Select the app and device for which you want to generate the app password, or you can name your own app and device, then click “GENERATE”.

You will get a 16 digits password, this is the password you need to use later to set up your e-mail notice in NVR system.

* Notice: You are not able to review the password after you click “DONE” so please note it down or leave this page open.

Rule – Safe Zone & Line Cross Alarm

We can set up a safe zone for our camera.

The camera will only detect or sound alarm when there’s abnormal activities in the safe zone. Click on the “Set” button next to “Rule”.

Choose the safe zone shape which you would like to use. In this user manual, we use rectangle as example.

We can also choose other size such as circle to protect our valuable objects.

When we choose “Tripwire” in stead of “Intrusion”, there will be a line on the screen and the camera will only detect or sound alarm when people cross this line.

Video Blind: The camera is covered and blinded.

Video Blind

Channel: Choose the right channel of which you would like to adjust the settings. 

Enable: The master switch of the video blind alarm.

*e.g. You have set channel 1 and channel 2 to record videos in “video blind” interface. One day, a burglar walks to your front door and your channel 1 camera sounds an alarm. The burglar covers the camera with his jacket and run to your driveway, where your channel 2 camera is installed. When the video blind alarm is triggered by channel 1, because you have set channel 2 to record videos too, so the channel 2 camera will also record videos and you will have videos with multiple angles of this burglar. These evidence will help police officers to catch this criminal.

Snapshot Configuration

In “Snapshot Configuration”, we can set our cameras to take snapshots.

Cycle Capture

When we choose “Cycle Capture”, the camera will take snapshots periodically. For example, the default snapshot period is 64 seconds, it means the camera will automatically take snapshot every 64 seconds.

EMAIL: When this option is on, the NVR will send the snapshots captured by the cameras to your e-mail address. 

FTP: Not applicable. 

Storage: When this option is on, the NVR will store the snapshots captured by the cameras in the HDD. 

Timing Capture

When we choose”Timing Capture”, the camera will take snapshots at the time that we set.

Playback

In this part, we can review the video records taken by the cameras.

There are 6 different playback modes:

Common Playback: You can review all the video records.

Common Playback: You can review all the video records.

*e.g.:
On May 1st, you only have your channel 1 recording videos;
On May 2nd, You have your channel 1 and your channel 2 recording videos;
In “Common Playback”, you will see that there are records on May 1st and on May 2nd;

Dayparting: You can review the video records of the chosen channels during the selected period.

Smart Express: The selected alarm type videos will play at normal speed. The remaining videos will speed up to save your time. 

Smart Search: You can review the video playback of the selected alarm type within the selected time period. 

Face Search: You can review the video playback of detected human faces in the selected time period.

How to properly install the security camera?

 When installing security cameras, LongPlus always recommends placing cameras up high. The outdoor installation location should be 7ft away from the ground. Here are the best places to install security cameras around your home: front & back doors, garage & driveway, yard, common areas, main stairway or hallway, or any side doors or large first-floor windows that an intruder could gain access through.

 🟠 Typically, home cameras are placed in the corners of the room to optimize the viewing angle. LongPlus recommends at least two cameras to fully cover a large space, such as a living room. To fully monitor your home, users can add cameras in each room to achieve a complete home monitoring system.

🟠 Battery cameras can not be installed behind a window/glass if you want to use the “Motion Detection” feature.

Battery cameras use PIR (passive infrared) motion detection, an energy-efficient (saving battery power) technology that captures motions by detecting infrared radiation (radiant heat) emitted or reflected by objects. When the camera is mounted behind a window/glass, infrared radiation does not pass through the window/glass. As a result, the “Motion Detection feature” does not work reliably. If you want the camera to detect motions outside, it is recommended that you mount the camera outside.

For plug-in/wired cameras, the answer is yes, as they use camera video analytics rather than PIR sensors to detect motions. As long as they “see”, they can detect motions. So you can mount the camera behind a window/glass with confidence.

How to find the serial number of LongPlus security camera?

🟠 Each LongPlus security camera has a serial number. These are usually located on the body label of the security camera, starting with S/N:*****. Also, if you’ve added your camera to the app, you can also tap the camera “setting” icon > tap the “>” extension icon > tap the “More info” button to find the camera’s serial number.

Is LongPlus security camera waterproof?

🟠 Yes. The waterproof rating of LongPlus camera is IP65. It can be “protected against water jets from any angle”. Generally, the camera can be used outdoors on ordinary rainy and snowy days. However, it may get damaged in extreme weather. But if the camera is installed under the roof or in a place with some shelter, it can get protection to a certain extent. Besides, please don’t expose the camera’s charging port, power button, and microSD card slot to water.

What do the indicator lights on LongPlus security camera mean?

🔵 Solid Blue Light – The camera is working properly.

🟡 Solid Yellow Light – The camera is charging.

🟢 Solid Green Light – The camera charging is complete.

⚪ No Light – The camera is in sleep/off mode.

Can I talk to someone via LongPlus App?

🟠 Yes, LongPlus security camera features two-way audio capability, which means you can listen and talk to someone in real-time with simple clicks in the App.

Do LongPlus security cameras need an app to work?

What is the default language of LongPlus security cameras?

Can I see the infrared light at night?

🟠 No, the night vision infrared light is invisible to human eyes. If you turn on your phone’s camera and point it at the camera lens, then you will be able to see it.

How to format a Micro SD card?

🟠 Sometimes after inserting a Micro SD card, the camera will report “Please use the app to format your SD card first”, that’s because your Micro SD card is not the FAT32 format that the camera supports. In this case, please tap the camera Setting icon > tap SD card > tap Format to format it.

How to record/save videos on a Micro SD card?

🟠 Installing a Micro SD card does not mean the camera will record a video to the Micro SD card all the time.

When the camera detects a movement, it will record a video to the cloud and the cloud recording will display in the Library in the app. If apart from the cloud recordings you want to save backup videos on a Micro SD card at the same time, you can insert a Micro SD card into the camera.

🟠 Here are tips:

1. Find the Micro SD card slot and insert your Micro SD card: Mostly, the Micro SD card slot is next to the power button and is under the rubber plug of the camera body. However, for some models of cameras, you may need to take off the outer shell of the camera to find the Micro SD card slot.

2. If the Micro SD card is detected, you will hear “SD card detected” at the time when it is inserted, and you can see both the storage of the Micro SD card and “SD Card Video” in the app.

Please note that the camera only supports legitimate brand-name (SanDisk, Samsung, Kingston) Micro SD cards, but may not be able to support no-brand, fake, expansion (the storage is extended), and read-only (you aren’t able to put a file to it) Micro SD cards

How to view videos on the Micro SD card?

You can view videos on the Micro SD card from the app or on your computer.

To view videos on the Micro SD card from the app, please tap the camera “setting” icon on the app homepage > tap “SD card video” on the “Camera Setting” page > select the date on the top > swipe the screen left and right until the green vertical line overlaps the grey “bubble”( If there is no grey “bubble”, that means there are no motions detected in that period).

If you want to zoom in on the specific time before playing a video, you can swipe two fingers left and right at the same time or tap the “magnifying glass” icon.

How to activate cloud storage?

🟠 The cloud storage we gift you is automatically activated and contains free 3 days rolling cloud storage. You can view the cloud-stored videos in the last 7 days at any time.

When the SD card is full will it overwrite the older files?

🟠 Yes, when the SD card is full, the camera will delete the earlier recorded video so you don’t need to format the SD card manually.

Can the camera be used without a memory card?

🟠 Without a memory card, the recorded video will be automatically saved in the cloud, you can watch the video for nearly 7 days in the cloud.

How long does it take to charge LongPlus camera once?

🟠 It will take about 8 -15 hours to fully charge the camera once. When the security camera is fully charged, the indicator light will turn solid green.

Why can’t the battery be charged?

🟠 The following factors may cause charge failure. Please check them one by one:

(1) The charging device is not suitable, or it malfunctions. Please make sure the power adapter and charging cable are in good condition. The power adapter specification is “5V/1.5A”.

(2) The charging port is defective. Possible causes include: the Micro USB cable and the charger or the charging port of the camera are not plugged in properly; there are objects in the charger or the charging port of the camera.

(3) Please confirm whether there are objects in the camera’s charging port or the charger port and clean it before charging.
Please ensure that the Micro USB cable is in good contact with the ports on both ends of the charger and camera.

(4) You can try to connect the Micro USB cable and the charger to other devices (such as mobile phones or computers) to see if they work normally. If anyone doesn’t work, please change to a new one to try again.

(5) The long-time operation leads to charge port oxidation or internal looseness. Please repair or replace the charge port immediately.
The charging cable is damaged or broken. Please replace the Micro USB cable that can work normally.

(6) The charging cable should not be too long. The required cable length is generally not more than 16 feet (5 m). Please replace the Micro USB cable with a suitable length.

(7) The charging environment is not suitable; excessively high or low temperature makes charging impossible. Please move to a place with an appropriate temperature environment (0°C ~ 45°C) for charging.

If the above are ruled out but the issue still persists, please submit feedback from the app for further technical assistance.

Why can’t the battery be used for a long time?

🟠 The battery life mainly depends on the total working duration of the camera. The following factors may lead to fast battery consumption. Please check them one by one:

1. Users frequently view live streams/The camera is frequently activated to record videos.
In order to make the camera work longer, please avoid turning on the live broadcast for a long time.

2. Poor Wi-Fi connection to the camera
If the camera’s Wi-Fi connection is bad or unstable, it will continue to actively search for networks, so the battery will drain quickly.
Please try to place the camera near the Wi-Fi router. Thick walls, bricks, ceramics, electromagnetic equipment, large amounts of liquid, and large metal objects can interfere with Wi-Fi signals. Please try to avoid these objects.

3. Extremely cold weather shortens battery life
The operating temperature of the camera is -10°~45 °C. Please do not place the camera in an extremely cold environment.

4. Night Sight will consume more battery power
When you enable Night Sight, the camera will enter night mode when the light is darker than the threshold (sensitivity level). Camera performance is improved when it is dark.
Therefore, for sharp nighttime images, we don’t recommend disabling it, although it may drain more battery power. But if you still want to disable it, you can tap the camera “Settings” icon > tap “Lighting Settings” > close “Night Sight”.

How can I extend the battery life?

🟠 The battery life is largely determined by the number of recordings and the number and duration of live. Here are the suggestions to extend the battery life:

(1) To reduce false triggers. Change the location or angle of the camera. Please allow us to explain how motion detection works: when the PIR sensor perceives a change in the environment, motion detection will be triggered. The change in the environment can be a moving object, light change, the alternation of hot and cold air, etc. Particularly common false triggers include trees shaking after being blown by the wind, the cold air of the air conditioning, etc.

(2) Set motion detection sensitivity to Low or Medium. After doing that, the distance the PIR sensor can detect will become shorter so that false triggers may be reduced.

(3) Shorten the recording duration of the camera. Currently, the camera-supported recording durations are 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 20 seconds, and automatic (up to 3 minutes). For your reference:

(4) Set Sleep mode. This feature allows you to schedule the working hours for the camera. Whether the camera enters sleep mode on schedule, or you enable Sleep, the camera will be deactivated. Under this condition, the live feed will not be accessed, motion detection (including push notifications, recordings, and camera alarm) will stop working. This can reduce power consumption to save battery life.

(5) If possible, you can try to watch live feeds or adjust camera settings on your mobile phones less frequently.

(6) To avoid or reduce the battery consumption caused by poor network connection. You can place the camera as close to the router as possible, and try to avoid thick walls, bricks, ceramics, electromagnetic wave equipment, a large amount of liquid, and large metal objects.

(7) We suggest that the camera be installed in a suitable temperature environment (14°F~113°F).

(8) It is generally not recommended that you turn off night vision, but if you do not need to monitor at night (watch live and video), you can turn off night vision.

Will Wi-Fi environment affect the camera battery?

🟠 Yes, an unstable or poor network environment will cause the camera to transmit data multiple times, the camera keeps actively searching for the network, or even reconnect to Wi-Fi continuously, which will result in faster battery consumption. Multi-layer concrete walls, brick walls, and overcrowded Wi-Fi channels will cause a bad Wi-Fi environment.

To save the camera’s battery life, please ensure that the network connection is strong.

How to charge the camera?

🟠 Connect the Micro USB cable to a 5V/1.5A power adapter.

🟠 Connect the other end of the USB cable to the camera.

🟠 Plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet.

🟠 Use the solar panel to charge.

How to add users or share your camera with another person?

Once you add a camera to the app, you become the admin of the camera. If you want to add an additional user to watch the camera on multiple devices, let’s say, you want to make another person (your family member or your friend) be able to access the camera on his or her phone, you can share your camera with that person.

🚩Note:

The shared user needs to download the app and register a new account first and the shared user will need to select the same country as you when registering.

Please check if shared user is in the same country/region as you. Click your/shared user avatar to go to “Personal information” >> check “Country” to see if you are in the same country.

If not, maybe you/shared user need to delete the account and re-register by selecting the same country/region to make sure you are in the same country. Click “Account security” >> select “Delete”, then you/shared user can re-register.

Face to Face Sharing

Step 1 Generate the share QR code of the camera

The camera admin taps the Share icon () on the live window on the homepage or taps the Share button on the Camera Setting page, then taps the Camera sharing button to generate a share QR code of the camera.

Step 2 Scan the share QR code using the shared user’s phone

The shared user taps the + icon () on the top right of the homepage, then taps the Add Friend’s Camera button. He/she can also directly tap the Add Friend’s Camera button from the User page. Then scan the generated share QR code.

Step 3 Accept the camera access request

After successfully scanning the share QR code, the camera admin will receive a guest user request. Accept the guest user request, then the shared user will be able to see the camera on the homepage and access the camera. The Person icon indicates this is a shared camera. The camera admin can check the shared account on the Share page.

Remote Sharing

Step 1 Generate the share QR code of the camera

The camera admin taps the Share icon () on the live window on the homepage or taps the Share button on the Camera Setting page, then taps the Camera sharing button to generate a share QR code of the camera.

Step 2 The camera admin screenshots the share QR code and then sends it to the shared user.

Step 3 The shared user saves the screenshot.

Step 4 Scan the screenshot of the share QR code using the shared user’s phone

The shared user taps the + icon () on the top right of the homepage, then taps the Add Friend’s Camera button. He/she can also directly tap the Add Friend’s Camera button from the User page. Then tap the Picture icon on the top right and then choose the saved screenshot to scan.

Step 5 Accept the camera access request

After successfully scanning the share QR code, the camera admin will receive a guest user request. Accept the guest user request, then the shared user will be able to see the camera on the homepage and access the camera. The Person icon indicates this is a shared camera. The camera admin can check the shared account on the Share page.

Compatible Wi-Fi extender or repeaters

It is possible for the SWIFI camera to pair to the router via WiFi extender if the extender is compatible and setup correctly to the router. Troubleshooting and configuration of your extender’s settings have to be performed by your router manufacturer support team, Internet Service Provider or your IT department. Tip: Try to pair the camera to the router first to check whether its internal network adapter is working. If it works via router but not extender, then there’s a chance the extender is not compatible.

How do I tell whether my router’s WiFi signal is 2.4GHz or 5GHz for pairing a SWIFI camera?

This is one of the most common reasons why a connection will fail while trying to pair a SWIFI camera to your Swann Security account. If you try to pair a SWIFI camera to the incorrect frequency or SSID name, the error that appears on the app can be one of the following:

Via Mobile Device Settings

One way to tell if the phone is connected to the correct frequency of the router is by checking the name of the SSID (the default name of your router’s WiFi hotspot): 

In the example above, the router has multiple SSIDs. An SSID that has “_2.4GHz,” “24G,” “2.4,” or “24” appended at the end is most likely a 2.4GHz signal. This is the network your phone needs to be connected to before you start pairing a SWIFI camera.

If you see two or more Wi-Fi network names that belong to you without 24 or 5, then one may be a 5 GHz band. To identify which name uses 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, login to your router’s settings.

How to change the time zone of my SWIFI camera in the Swann Security app?

The error “Device Timezone Out of Sync” appears if your camera’s time zone is different from your phone app’s time zone. 

If your camera is in a different location (with different time zone) than your mobile device, you can ignore hit Cancel.

How to delete recordings of a SWIFI camera in the Swann Security app

There are two ways to delete recordings of a standalone Wi-Fi camera that is compatible with the Swann Security app.

Delete one or few recorded clips: 

1. Go to Playback.

2.Tap on the Storage (microSD card) icon on the top beside the logo.

3.Select your device. (pause and wait for the clips to load. If there are none, it means that the camera does not have a microSD card or internal storage)

4.Tap on the trash / bin icon beside the recording with timestamp you wish to remove.

Delete all recordings (Format the internal storage)

Note: Formatting deletes all recordings from local storage or microSD card. It will not delete the recordings from the cloud. Once deleted, they cannot be recovered.

If your Zmodo cam is offline check your Wi-Fi router first to see if the ISP is the root of the problem. The reasons for an offline camera include the following:

• Not in Range: The camera might be outside the coverage area of the network. To fix this issue, you’ll have to place the camera and/or the Wi-Fi modem closer to each other.
• ISP Issue: It’s not Zmodo it’s you. Or rather, it’s your Internet Service Provider. Make sure your ISP is working properly with all the lights for Internet connectivity turned on.
• Network Connection: If your network connection itself is poor and unstable, do two things. One, power-cycle (turn on and off then on again) your router. Two, reset or unplug then replug your camera.
• Wrong Network Name: The cam might connect to the wrong network name instead of your home Wi-Fi. Fix this during setup or release the Wi-Fi then reconnect to the correct Wi-Fi.
• Wait a Little While: If you’ve just switched on the camera then wait a little while for it to get connected to your network of choice. Patience is a virtue here.
• Network Compatibility: Some models work within a limited frequency—2.4GHz instead of 5GHz. Your cam might not connect to a 5G network, in other words.
• When All Else Fails: When all else fails, just reset your Zmodo camera to factory settings. Take note though that some cameras don’t have a reset button so you’re left with turning it off and on to reboot it.

Make sure the Wi-Fi network you’re connecting to is 2.4GHz WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK. Also, the network shouldn’t be hidden either.

When doing the QR code scan, ensure that the display on your phone is set on high brightness. Also, avoid getting glare on the screen. Furthermore, make sure your camera isn’t already bound to another user account. This might make the QR code scan moot.

Zmodo not connecting to zmd_sap: what is zmd_sap? How to Fix!

The zmd_sap or ZMD-SAP is the wireless network that Zmodo cameras connect to that’s exclusive to the Zmodo wireless camera line. NVRs and DVRs don’t make use of the network, only the wireless cams do.

If your Zmodo isn’t connecting to zmd_sap, do the following.  When the camera is blinking green, check the available Wi-Fi signals on your phone’s Wi-Fi settings page. You should see the ZMD_SAP network on the list. Use the Zink connection to connect the device to the Wi-Fi network.
