<p><span class="wysiwyg-font-size-large"><strong><u>Option 1 – Reset Your Password from the App</u></strong></span></p>
<p><strong>NOTE:</strong> Ensure the DVR / NVR is powered on and connected to the Internet so it can receive the new password once you change it.</p>
<p>If you forgot your device password and are logged into the DVR / NVR with your Night Owl Protect account credentials, you can easily reset your password from the app. To do so:</p>
<ol>
<li>Open the <em>Night Owl</em> Protect App on your Smart Device.</li>
<li>Tap &#8220;<strong>Forgot your password?</strong>&#8221; on the Sign In screen.</li>
<li>Retrieve the temporary code sent to the email address registered to your Night Owl Protect Account.</li>
<li>Enter the temporary code.</li>
<li>Create a new password and verify it.</li>
<li>Tap “<strong>Save Password</strong>.”</li>
<li>You can now log into your DVR / NVR with the updated password.</li>
</ol>

<p>If you do NOT have your DVR / NVR connected to the Internet and do NOT wish to use the app, you can use our secure password reset portal. To do so:</p>

<li>Click &#8220;<strong>Forgot password</strong>&#8221; on the DVR / NVR Login screen.</li>
<li>Go to <strong><a href="https://www.nightowlsp.com/noprotect" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NightOwlSP.com/NOProtect</a></strong></li>
<li>Create an account or log in.</li>
<li>Register your device if you have not already done so.</li>

<p><strong>Ans: </strong></p>
<p>For resetting the password, we need the error code generate in the device. Send the error code using the form</p>
<p><a href="https://forms.gle/MvHofjk2PXFxdHTB8" target="_self" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://forms.gle/MvHofjk2PXFxdHTB8</a></p>
<p>The temporary password is randomly generated based on the error code and the validity of the temporary password is just for 3days only. So, please make sure you modify the user account of your device or factory default the device before temporary password expires. Otherwise, the device will generate a different error code after 3days.</p>

<li>IPC CloudSEE2.0</li>
</ol>
<p>If you are using IPC stand alone, connect the IPC with VMS-6100 and add the device into to software. Then the software will display the error code.</p>

Access the web interface of the IPC by input the IP address of the IPC into the web browser address bar. Input the temporary username and password received in your email and login the device. Then go to System then User and modify the current user. Input the new password and save the settings. Or go to Maintenance and click Factory Default button to reset the device.</p>

<p>If you are using IPC with NVR, the error code of the IPC will display on the video preview screen and channel list as well. Submit the form with error code and you will receive temporary login password in your email. Go to Channel list an select the IPC you need to change the password. Click on Input PWD button and input the temporary username and password you received. After you check the Status, the IPC will showing connected. Go to Camera option and click the icon under User column of the desired IPC then modify the password. Or click the icon under Maintenance column of desired IPC and click Factory Default. Once IPC user account modified or factory defaulted, you need to go back to the Channel list and input the new password by clicking Input PWD button if you modify the account. If the IPC is factory defaulted, then remove the existing IPC and search and add it again.</p>

Login with the temporary username and password then right click on the video preview screen and select Main Menu. Login with username and password. Then click System icon. After that click User option then click the icon under Edit column. Then modify the password. Or Click Maintenance then System, click Reset button to factory default the device.</p>

<p><strong>Step 1. </strong>Reboot your device and make sure you can see the live-view on the monitor screen.</p>

Press the USB mouse and make sure that all icons are hidden and the NVR is in live view on the monitor.</p>

<p>2. Connect your computer to one of the <strong>POE ports</strong> (i.e. the camera port) on your NVR.</p>

<p>3. Run the software SADPTool and it will detect the camera‘s IP.</p>

<p>5. Click <strong>&#8220;Export&#8221;</strong> and select the path to export an XML file. Please export the file of each of your nonworking cameras.</p>

<p>7. Send us the <strong>XML file</strong> and we will give you another key file to continue the password reset.</p>
<p><strong>NOTICE:</strong><br />
<span class="wysiwyg-color-red">1. Please do NOT turn off your NVR and the SADP software after you exported the files. Otherwise, the exported file will be invalid immediately.</span><br />
<span class="wysiwyg-color-red">2. Please use the key file from us as soon as possible because it&#8217;s only valid for 24 hours.<br />

<p>8. Select<strong> &#8220;Import&#8221;</strong> and choose the file we sent to you.<br />
Input your NVR&#8217;s password as the new password and confirm the password of the camera. Click &#8220;Confirm&#8221; to finish reset.</p>

<span class="wysiwyg-color-red">Please follow the matching guide in our email to import the XML file to the cameras accordingly.</span><br />

<p>The following video and below article guides you through the steps required to reset the master admin password on a Hikvision, HiLook or HiWatch IP camera or recorder.</p>

<p>To reset the password you will need a computer connected to the same network as your device.</p>
<p>1. Download and install Hikvision&#8217;s <a title="" href="http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/?dir=portal/Technical%20Materials/11%20%20Software/00%20%20Software%20Tool%20Package/01%20%20%20SADP%20Tools/V3.0.1.4" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" data-toggle="">IP device finder software SADP</a></p>
<p>2. Run SADP and locate your device in the device list</p>
<ul>
<li>If you device does not show in the SADP list check the following
<ul>
<li>The device is powered on</li>
<li>You are physically connected to the same network as your device (Wireless connections are not recommended)</li>
<li>If there is no router connected you will need to assign your computer a fixed IP address in the same subnet range as the device. eg. Device = 192.168.1.20 &amp; Computer = 192.168.1.21</li>
<li>You are using the latest version of the SADP software</li>

<p>3. Select your device and click &#8220;forgot password&#8221;</p>
<p>4. Select &#8220;export&#8221; and chose a location/folder on your computer to export the file to</p>
<p>5. Once you have the exported file email the file direct to Hikvision at <a href="mailto:support.uk@hikvision.com">support.uk@hikvision.com</a></p>
<ul>
<li>This process will only work with UK spec cameras sourced from an authorised UK supplier</li>
<li>For Hikvision or HiLook products purchased from Connectec you can alternatively email <a title="" href="mailto:support@connectec.uk" data-toggle="">support@nvripc.com</a></li>
</ul>
<p>6. After creating the file do not switch off the device for which you are resetting the password and complete the process within 24 hours</p>
<p>7. You will receive a new file by email</p>
<p>8. Under step 2 of the forgot password option in SADP select import and locate the file you have received</p>
<p>9. Enter a new password and click &#8220;confirm&#8221;</p>
<p>10. The password reset process should now be complete</p>
