What do I do if my recording schedules aren’t working?

If your Vivint Indoor Camera’s schedules are not working, make sure that your camera is working and that the light on the front is green.

Decide where you want your new camera

Make sure it’s within 200 feet of the panel and there are as few obstructions (walls, furniture, etc.) to line of sight as possible. You can either set your camera on a flat surface or mount it to a wall. To mount the camera, use the included screws and/or drywall plugs to mount the magnetic base plate, then attach the camera to the magnetic base.

This is a user guide for CMSClient version V1.00.00.47, it’s applied to software version is equal or newer than V1.00.00.47. If you are running older version (e.g. V1.00.00.46, V1.00.00.45), please download and upgrade your existing one to the latest. It should be noted that Yoosee has no app be compatible with Windows smartphone. If you have a smartphone running Windows OS, obviously you can not use Yoosee camera. The Yoosee software team will not release App for Windows based smartphone.

What CMSClient does?

CMSClient provides users a centralized video surveillance solution. It allows users to manage multiple cameras simultaneously, users can preview, record, playback, even receive alarm alerts by using it.  Users also can change yoosee camera’s network settings (such as IP address, gateway, DNS), can shift recording video resolution from SD to HD, can modify camera’s password.

Installation of CMSClient software

The software doesn’t contain any virus, if your anti-virus software report virus warning, please check if you have downloaded the software from official website. The software requires permission to access your network/Internet, it uses RTSP stream protocol to communicate with cameras locally, and P2P protocol to communicate with Internet cameras. When installing the software, ensuring it allows to pass Windows firewall.  The software will keep communicating with remote servers intending to establish P2P connection, it doesn’t spy your video, doesn’t transmit/upload any video clips to remote servers.

Logon CMSClient Software

CMSClient software now allows users to login through three different types of account.

• Admin login: local login, don’t require users to register an account. No need to input password, click “OK” to login immediately. The software can automatically discover local cameras, but can not discover Internet cameras.
• Phone Number login: remote login with your registered yoosee account, after logon, the software will list added cameras in your account.
• Mail/user ID login: remote login with your registered yoosee account, after logon, the software will list added cameras belongs to your account.

Moreover, select either “Phone number login” or “Mail/user ID login”, the software can receive motion detection (or sensor triggered) alert to computer. When motion detection alarm occurs, the software will pop-up a new window automatically to alert users, it also can play selectable audible automatically to remind users.

How to add Yoosee Cameras?

After logon, CMSClient will automatically discover local connected cameras, click “Add all” to add them into your software. Please note the displayed p2p password and rtsp password default is “qwe123”, it’s an incorrect password, just ignore them.

Except adding automatically, users can click “+” icon on the left bottom to manually add cameras. In “Device manager” window, local connected cameras will be listed on the left column, click “>>” button can add to software which will appear in right column. Click “Manual add device”, you can add local connected cameras via entering device ID, device password, RTSP password. Click”Add shared device” to add cameras as a guest user. How to use CMSClient software?

Once you added devices to software, you’re able to use each functions of it. Select device you want to manage, right click mouse will pop-up a menu list.

• Device property: change camera name, device password, rtsp password and group.
• Delete node: delete camera from this list/software.
• Start monitoring: start to preview real-time video (if it shows you a crying face, it means password is incorrect)
• Smooth/standard definition/high definition: before click start monitoring, you should choose default image resolution, smooth equals low resolution, standard definition equals VGA (640×480), HD equals 1280×720 or 1920×1080.
• IPC config: you’re able to tweak camera’s network settings (e.g. IP address, DNS), record video resolution (SD, or HD), password.  It only works on the premise that your camera’s password is correct. If you encounter “network timeout” “permission error” “password incorrect” error, to solve this, you need to logon software with yoosee registered account.

CMSClient Playback Function

You’re able to playback recorded video clips right from your computer. The CMSClient can only allows users to play remotely and locally recorded video clips, but also can allow you convert them to friendly .mp4 files which can be recognized and played by regular media players.

Click “Search” button on the left top, the camera can search files, click the file name to playback. Additionally, you can click folder icon to open a file to play it. All yoosee camera will record video with .av file extension. These raw files can not be recognized or played by regular media players, you can use the converter which the software has included to convert .av files to .mp4 files.

CMSClient software is a powerful video surveillance management tool, it includes other function to provide a great flexibility. Click gear icon on the top of software, it will pop-up a “CMS config” window.

• File save path: select the folder path to store recorded video footage.
• Reserve space: allowing users to modify reserved space for video storage in your HDD.
• Record time for package: the time length to patch a video file when recording video. If the value is “60” min, the software will patch/generate a video file in every hour when software is recording on computer.
• Cycle record: turn on/off over-write function, automatically erase/overwrite HDD when space is full.
• Auto start record when monitoring: record video while watch video stream.
• Connect all of device automatically: automatically display video for all cameras/channels after logon software.
• Render mode: Directdraw, GDI
• Monitor: auto, rtsp, p2p
• Message notification: choose whether receiving message notification or not when there is a motion detection alarm.

If you logon software with registered yoosee account, the software will have “Alarm trigger” option. This open allows you to select time length of pop-up video when alarm occurs. You’re able to choose different audio files, the computer will play the audio to remind users.

How to reset the password of the VIGI camera?

If you forget the password of the VIGI camera, you can reset the password via VIGI Security Manager or VIGI NVR.

Method 1: Via VIGI Security Manager

Step 1. Click the Forget Password option.

If the camera is not added, go to Settings > Device > Device List > Discovered Devices, select the device and click the Set Password or + Add > Forget Password.

If the camera has been added, go to Settings > Device > Device List > My Devices > Settings icon of the camera > Basic Information > Device Security > Modify > Forget Password.

Step 2. Send the Verification Code to your Reset Password Email.

If the camera is connected to the internet, click the Send Code and you’ll receive a verification code sent to your Reset Password Email.

If the camera is not connected to the internet, please Download VIGI App in the App Store or Google Play. Scan the QR code with the app and you’ll receive a verification code sent to your Reset Password Email.

Step 3. Enter the verification code and click Next.

Step 4. Enter the new password.

Method 2: Via VIGI NVR

Step 1. Click the Forget Password option.

Right click to open Main Menu, go to Settings > Camera > Device Access > Add Device > Discovered Devices and you will see Forget Password option. If the camera has been added and is not certified, you need to remove the camera first.

Step 2. Send Verification Code to your Reset Password Email.

Step 3. Enter the verification code and click Verify.

Step 4. Enter the new password.

1. What’s the Reset Password Email?

When you first activate camera, it is asked to enter your Reset Password Email. It is only used to receive the verification code when you need to reset the password.

How to modify the IP address of the VIGI camera

You can use the VIGI Security Manager or VIGI NVR to modify the IP address of your VIGI camera.

Via: VIGI Security Manager

If the camera is not added, go to Settings > Device > Device List > Discovered Devices, select the device and click the Set Network.

If the camera has been added, go to Settings > Device > Device List > My Devices > Settings icon of the camera > Network Settings > Connection and modify the IP address.

Via: VIGI NVR

If the camera is not added, go to Settings > Camera > Device Access> Add device, select the device and click the Modify IP address.

If the camera has been added, you can modify the IP address via one-click networking option. Go to Settings > Network > Connection and click the one-click networking.

Select the device you want to change and NVR will assign unassigned IP. In this way, you can manually set the IP address. If you want to manually set the IP address, you need to remove the camera and change the IP address before it is added.

How to avoid the overexposure of image

The overexposure of surveillance images can be roughly divided into over-exposure during the day and overexposure at night. The overexposure in the daytime is basically caused by the backlight of the scene, while the overexposure at night is caused by the over-intensity of the infrared reflected light of the object.

Note: Please make sure the lens is clean.

Overexposure in the daytime

The light reflected from the counter is relatively strong, making the counter very bright and unclear

The camera will overexpose in the presence of bright light directed or reflected into the lens. Overexposure will lead to unclear details. During installation, we need to consider scenarios and avoid direct light or strong reflections. If it is unavoidable, we need to adjust the image parameters to alleviate the overexposure.

Step 1: We take the overexposure area as the exposure target and do backlight compensation (BLC), so that the IPC takes the overexposure area as the target to reduce the overall light input. The overexposure area in the figure is near the center, and we set BLC area to be center.

Step 2: After we enable BLC, the IPC reduces the overall light input, so the surroundings will become darker. We can increase the brightness of the surroundings by wide dynamic range (WDR).

Step 3: We can fine-tune brightness and contrast to display the best image.

The following picture shows the adjusted result. (BLC area in center + WDR + brightness 60, contrast 40.) As you can see, the area of counter is clearer. You can further adjust the parameters according to your own image quality.

Overexposure at night

Overexposure due to being next to the wall is quite obvious, as shown below.

When the camera is installed next to the wall, if the angle is too biased towards the wall, the infrared light reflected back from the wall will be too strong, and the wall will be overexposed. If the wall is overexposed, the camera will reduce the shutter exposure time to maintain the overall average brightness of the screen, so that the other part of the screen will be too dark.

Step 1. Adjust angle to reduce the area of overexposed objects in the picture.

Without affecting the monitoring, make the wall area in the picture as small as possible. Firstly, the effective monitoring area can be increased; secondly, if the overexposure area of the wall is reduced, the exposure time of the camera will be increased, and the monitoring image will be clearer.

Step 2. Set BLC area to make dark areas brighter

You can increase the exposure time of the camera by setting the BLC area of the camera. Although the wall or reflective obstacles may be brighter, the effective monitoring area can be seen more clearly.

Step 3. Enable WDR to balance the brightness

Increase WDR can strengthen the details in the dark, and monitoring effect in night vision is better.

Note: Too high WDR will increase the noise in the night vision picture. WDR should be properly increased.

How to upgrade the firmware of VIGI cameras

Method 1: Via the VIGI app

1. On the Live View page, tap the gear icon to enter the Device Settings page.

2. On the Device Settings page, tap on the Firmware Upgrade to check for update or update the firmware.

Method 2: Via the VIGI Security Manager (Windows only)

1. Open the VIGI Security Manager.

2. Go to the Settings page and go to Device > Device Upgrade to update the firmware.

What is the difference between 2.8 mm, 4 mm, 6 mm and 8 mm lens?

Lens focal length tells us the angle of view—how much of the scene will be captured—and the magnification—how large individual elements will be. The lager the focal length, the narrower the angle of view and the higher the magnification.

VIGI indoor cameras have a focal length of 2.8/4 mm and VIGI outdoor cameras have a focal length of 4/6 mm. The last digit of the model indicates the focal length of the lens.

For example:

VIGI C400HP-4: The focal length is 4 mm.

VIGI C300HP-6: The focal length is 6 mm.

How to select suitable lens?

The larger the focal length of the lens, the smaller the angle of view, and the farther the monitoring distance. So the camera lens with low focal length is suitable for observing small areas where need a wide angle. If you want to observe the objects closer with a big distance, you’d better select the cameras with a lager focal length lens.

How to rotate the image of my VIGI camera

You can rotate the image via VIGI App, VIGI Security Manager or VIGI NVR. VIGI Security Manager and VIGI NVR has more mirror option than VIGI App.

Here we take VIGI C400HP-4 as an example.

Method 1: Via VIGI App

1. On the Live View page, tap the gear icon to enter the Device Settings page.

2. On the Device Settings page, go to Device Control > Video Rotation.

3. On the Video Rotation page, you can select Upside Down to rotate the video image 180°.

Method 2: Via VIGI Security Manager

1. Go to Settings > Device > Device List > My Devices and click the settings icon of the camera.

2. Go to Image > Mirror and select Mirror option you want.

Method 3: Via VIGI NVR

Right click to open Main Menu, go to Settings > Camera > Display > Image > Advanced Settings, select Mirror option you want.

How to change the password and Reset Password Email of the VIGI camera

You can change the password and Reset Password Email of the VIGI camera via VIGI Security Manager or VIGI NVR. Reset Password Email is used to receive the verification code when you need to reset the password.

Method 1: Via VIGI Security Manager

Step 1. Go to Settings > Device > Device List > My Devices and click the settings icon of the camera.

Step 2. Go to Basic Information > Device Security and click Modify to change the password and Reset Password Email.

Method 2: Via VIGI NVR

Step 1. Right click to open Main Menu, go to Settings > Camera > Device Management > Password Management, select the camera and click edit icon.

How to Mount Your VIGI Pan & Tilt Camera to a Wall or Pole

This article will show you how to mount your camera to the wall, and how to remove your camera from the camera base.

How to Mount Your Camera

1. Mark Position

Place the mounting template where you want the camera. For wall mounting, drill four holes through four circles on your mounting template.

2. Mount Base or Pole Mounting

Mount Base:

Affix the camera base using the screws.

For wall mounting, insert four anchors into the holes and use the self-tapping screws to affix the camera base over the anchors.
There are two ways to install your cameras by the mount base depending on your situation.

Use the cable tie to attach and tighten your camera to the pole.

How to Uninstall Your Camera

If you mounted it on the wall

Remove the screws from the anchor. Then you can take your camera off the wall.

If you install it to a pole, remove the cable ties and you can uninstall it.

How to use VIGI cameras with other NVR brands or NAS

The VIGI cameras work with VIGI NVR as well as other NVR brands or NAS for easier batch access and management. It is recommended to use the VIGI cameras with the VIGI NVR. For other NVR brands, make sure they support ONVIF and RTSP protocols. Here we will show you how to use VIGI cameras with other NVR brands.

Step 1: Power on your cameras and connect them to the same network as your NVR.

Step 2: Activate the cameras using the VIGI Security Manager or VIGI App.

1. Download the VIGI Security Manager on your windows computer at https://www.tp-link.com/download-center/

2. Install the VIGI Security Manager and open it.

3. Go to Settings > Discovered Devices. Cameras on the same network as your computer can be automatically discovered.

4. Click + Add to activate your discovered cameras by setting passwords.

5. Follow the instructions to add your cameras.

Step 3: Refer to the NVR’s User Manual to add cameras.

We will show you some basic parameters that it may require to connect the VIGI camera to your NVR.

1. The IP address of the camera.

Open VIGI Security Manger and go to Settings > Device > Device List > My Devices > Settings icon of the camera > Network Settings > Connection.

For some NVRs, you’ll need to modify the IP address of the VIGI camera to the same network segment as the NVR for successful adding.

2. The ports for standard ONVIF and RTSP protocols.

3. The username/password of the camera.

Username: admin

Password: It is set when you activated the camera. If you forget it, please refer to the link to reset the password.

What should I do if VIGI camera is not found?

This article is to solve the problem that VIGI camera is not found. Please check the steps below:

Step 1. Confirm that the camera is powered up.

The camera should be powered up via 12V DC adapter or PoE (802.3af/at). The IR LED will turn on for 20 seconds once the camera is powered on.

Step 2. Confirm that the camera is connected to your network properly.

The camera should be connected to network devices via Ethernet cable.

Step 3. Make sure your device is on the same network as the camera.

Step 4. Reboot your network devices including router and refresh to discover your cameras again.

Step 5. Try other methods to discover devices.

You can try to discover devices via VIGI Security Manager, VIGI NVR or VIGI App.

How to Verify Fake Micro SD Cards When Using with VIGI Cameras

Note:

A security camera that works with a standalone microSD card is primarily designed to store motion-activated recordings or short video clips of movements with local storage, which offers a cost-effective alternative to the subscription-based cloud storage. However, users may run into issues like the camera is unable to overwrite recordings, the SD card becomes full and stops recording or the SD card cannot be formatted by the camera App, etc. These kinds of problems might be caused by the fake SD card.

Micro SD Card and fake SD Card

An SD Card is a small electronic storage medium used by a plethora of storage devices including smartphones, games devices, camcorders, and cameras. Most of the smartphones and security cameras are using the microSD card.

The TP-Link camera supports a microSD card with up to 512GB capacity. If the remaining space of an SD card is less than 500MB or 5% of the total capacity before the first insertion of the camera, it would be impossible to record. There are different speed specifications for microSD cards and it is recommended to use a card with Class 10 or UHS 1 speed rating, which requires a minimum writing speed of 10MB/s.

The most common fake microSD card is the fake capacity expanded card, which uses illegal means and tools to make the cards with a small capacity appear larger. For example, a 32GB card is displayed as 128GB on your computer or other devices. This kind of card is usually having a lower price than the official quality goods. Since the capacity is Manual deceived by the illegal means and tools so that the space beyond the original capacity cannot be used normally.

If the stored file exceeds the actual capacity, the file will be unavailable. Our camera recognizes the microSD card and will format it in Fat32 format and creates index files to save your video data. If you system don’t come with hard drive, you have to install a SATA
3.5 inch internal hard drive to record. This system works with most
3.5”SATA Hard Disk or 3.5 internal hard disk.

1. Install a Hard Disk (if your system has preinstalled Hard Disk,

Unplug your DVR from power, unscrew and remove the top cover.
Connect the SATA power and data cables from the DVR to the
corresponding ports on your Hard Disk (as shown).

Place the Hard Disk into the DVR. Any cable should cross up over the

Holding the Hard Disk and the DVR, gently turn it over and line up the
holes on the Hard Disk with the holes on the

FLEX AI: How do I annotate objects?

Summary:

This article describes how to move through a training video and mark objects. The goal is to take a video clip and pause at several points in the video and annotate objects (draw boxes around) you are teaching FLEX AI to detect.

Step By Step Guide:

Annotating objects

1. Pause the video on any frame that contains the object of interest.

2. Draw a detection box around every instance of the object. There can be multiple instances of an object and each instance should have its own detection box.

3. Click the Tighten button (or the keyboard shortcut T) to resize the detection boxes.
This means you can save time by roughly drawing the boxes and then tightening.

There will be times that FLEX AI does not properly capture the true edges of the object, that’s why the application allows you to readjust the edges of the box. Step 3: Drag the edges/corners of a detection box to finely edit.

4. To remove a detection box, select the appropriate box and click the Delete key on your keyboard.

5. Click Save (or the keyboard shortcut S) to save the marked detection boxes.

6. Once you have drawn the necessary detection boxes, click the Train button. Your project will be unavailable during the training period which typically takes 15 to 30 minutes depending on the number of annotations.

NOTE: Since training is done in the cloud, you can work on any number of other projects
while a project is training.

save. It is recommended that a minimum of 50 detection boxes be defined before your

This article covers improving the AI Object Detection model of your uploaded videos. This process will result in more accurate detections, fewer false positives, and fewer false negatives.

Step By Step Guide:

To improve the AI Object Detection model:

1.Click the Improve button (towards the top right of the video player) after you have reviewed the latest model.

2.Select a video to start.
FLEX AI will suggest the top 10 frames crucial for highlighting your object(s) to enhance your object detection model. Markers represent each frame the application is asking you to revisit.

3.Draw a detection box around every instance of the object.
Remember to save your detection boxes.

4.Click the Object Not Present button (towards the bottom right of the video player) if the object of interest is not in the frame.

5.Use the arrows or the orange dots to advance to different/suggested frames.

6.Complete all 10 suggested frames and repeat for all videos to be included in the next training.

7.Click the Add More button to manually look through the video and add detection boxes, if the suggested frames are not enough (ex: different angles and perspectives are needed in the training set).

8.Click Train when you are ready.
The current limit for a (1) year license is to have a maximum of (100) total trainings or improvements.

NOTE: All 10 suggested frames must be completed per video for them to be included
in the training. Detection boxes on any video where all 10 frames are not marked
will be discarded and not included.

FLEX AI: How do I review and download my FLEX AI model?

To review your uploaded videos:

1.Click the Ready to View button to select your trained AI model results video.

2.Adjust the confidence level slider (towards the top right of the video player) to view the identified objects that meet your specified minimum confidence level.

The following model has been trained only once, so there is no option to compare.

3.After training the AI model more than once, click the Single/Compare Player toggle to change your view from side-by-side video player to single video player.

The following model has been improved, so both the previous (left) and current (right) can be compared. We can already notice the newer model is performing better.

Live View Settings

The Live View is the first screen you will see when your camera connects to the app. It includes the following features:

Camera’s image/screen is blurry.

Adjust your camera’s diopter to your eyesight. Before you begin, it is highly recommended that you adjust your camera’s diopter to your eyesight. Focusing your view will minimize eye strain and fatigue.

Camera’s Wi-Fi hotspot is not showing.

• Wait a moment for it to appear in your phone’s Wi-Fi settings.

• When enabling your camera’s hotspot in your camera’s settings, try to press  a couple more times.

• Ensure you have allowed the app to use your location, otherwise it will not be able to detect your camera’s Wi-Fi. Navigate to your phone’s settings, then open the Thermal Connection app settings, and enable Location — While Using the App.

Camera is not connecting to the app.

The Wi-Fi password is case sensitive. Make sure you enter the serial number in the same letter format, whether that is uppercase or lowercase.

Camera has disconnected from the app.

Camera’s Live View is frozen in the app.

If the Live View is frozen perform a hard close of the app, then open it again.

Digital zoom is not working.

Digital zoom will not work while your camera’s menu is open. Press  to exit the menu.

Camera is not recording images and videos.

Recording images and/or videos will not work while the menu is open or when your camera is connected to a computer. Press  to exit the menu.

Camera’s screen is black.

Restart your camera. Press and hold  to turn your camera off, and then back on.

How does my thermal monocular camera work?

To improve the visibility of objects in complete darkness, haze, or tough conditions, your thermal monocular camera uses infrared sensors to detect heat given off by a person, animal, or other objects. It creates images of that radiation called thermograms, which display the relative temperatures of different objects with different shades or colors. In a thermogram, warm objects stand out in a contrast or often cooler background. It is widely used in outdoor scenarios for hunting, rescue, animal observation, and more.

Is my thermal monocular camera battery-operated or hard wired?

Your thermal monocular camera is battery-operated, however, to charge the battery you will need to connect the micro-USB cable into your camera’s USB port and the other end into a power source.

Does my thermal camera only work at night?

No. Although thermal imaging cameras are most commonly used for nighttime vision, they can also be useful in daylight. • The microSD card’s storage will open on your computer desktop. Select files to export, then copy them onto your computer.

• After exporting, disconnect the micro-USB cable from your camera and computer.

• Press  to select USB Mode Off.

• Press  to confirm your setting.

• Press  to exit the menu.

• The microSD card’s storage will open on your computer desktop. Copy the update program to the microSD card.

• Press and hold  and  at the same time for 3 seconds. A blue screen will indicate that an update is in progress.

After a few minutes the update will complete and you will see your camera’s live view image.

Can I mount my camera to a tripod?

Yes, the tripod thread can be found on the bottom of your camera.

Can I access my camera’s Live View from an external monitor?

What is the buzzer option in the app settings?

The buzzer is not compatible with your camera.

Follow the steps below to connect your thermal monocular camera to the Thermal Connection app.

Step 1 – Download the App

Download your camera’s mobile app, Thermal Connection.

Step 2 – Enable Your Camera’s Wi-Fi Hotspot

Looking into your camera:

• Press and hold  to open the menu.

• Press  or  to navigate to WiFi.

• Press  to open the setting.

• Press  to select AP (Access Point).

• Press  to confirm your setting.

• Press  the exit the menu.

Step 3 – Connect to the App

You will now be able to view your camera from the app and make some minor setting adjustments.
