You’ll be able to detect animals or people obscured by darkness or fog with the ACH20-1B Portable Thermal Monocular Camera from Lorex. The device is equipped with an aiming laser and rangefinder, and it can record photos and video to microSD cards up to 256GB, so you can share them to your devices via built-in Wi-Fi. Digital zoom provides a better view of your target, and you can select from multiple color palettes including iron red, rainbow, white hot, and alarm. Live View Settings

The Live View is the first screen you will see when your camera connects to the app. It includes the following features:

Digital Zoom

Zoom in on a certain part of your camera’s image to magnify details.

1.From Live View, tap .

2.Tap your preferred zoom range.

3.Tap OK to save.

Color Palette

Select your camera’s color palette for enhanced visual representations of thermal imaging.

1.From Live View, tap .

2.Tap on one of the following color palettes:

• Whitehot: The most used palette, Whitehot displays warmer objects in white and then cooler objects in black, and everything in between in a shade of gray.

• Ironrow: This is a general-purpose palette that uses a variety of colors to showcase heat distribution. Red indicates the highest temperature, with an array of colors cooling off to blue as the temperature in the image decreases.

• RainBow: Best suited for scenes with minimal heat change, RainBow uses different colors to display slight temperature changes despite low-contrast conditions.

• Warning: Based off Whitehot, Warning showcases warmer objects in a white color with heat indicated by a vibrant red. This palette was designed to quickly detect body heat.

3.Tap OK to save.

Note: Not all color palettes are suited for every situation. Select the option that best shows the thermal differences for your specific application.

Record Images & Videos

1.From Live View, tap .

2.Tap the screen to display the capture and record icons.

3.To capture images: Tap .

4.To start or stop recording videos: Tap .

Note: A blinking red dot next to a recording timer on the left of the screen indicates that your camera’s recording.

Function Settings

Enable some of your camera’s features, like the laser pointer, fire detection, or track hot and cold points.

Laser Pointer

Use the laser pointer to illuminate a point of interest with a bright spot of colored light.

LASER RADIATION:

Exposure to laser light can cause significant damage to the eyes. Never look into the laser beam directly or through a piece of optical equipment.

1.Tap Function.

2.Tap to enable Pointer. The laser pointer automatically turns on.

After a few seconds, the laser pointer automatically turns off.

Fire Detection

Detect fires in your camera’s image with a red box surrounding the source. If enabled, you can set the fire detection sensitivity from high to low.

1.Tap Function.

2.Tap Fire Detection.

3.Tap on one of the options:

• Off: Fire detection is turned off.

• High, Middle, or Low Sensitivity: Your camera will detect fires based on the sensitivity level.

4.Tap OK to save.

Hot & Cold Points

Track the hottest and lowest temperatures in your camera’s image at the same time. If enabled, your camera’s image will display a red target tracking the hottest point and a blue target tracking the lowest point.

1.Tap Function.

2.Tap to enable Hotspot Tracking.

System Settings

Customize your camera’s system settings or sign out.

Automatic Sleep Mode

Select how long your camera waits before entering sleep mode.

1.Tap System.

2.Tap Automatic Maintenance.

3.Tap Auto Sleep Setting.

4.Tap on one of the options:

• Off: Automatic sleep mode is turned off.

• 10 Mins, 5 Mins, 3 Mins, 1 Min: Your camera will automatically go into sleep mode after the selected time. Shorter times preserve your camera’s battery life.

5.Tap OK, then Save.

Automatic Shutdown

Select how long your camera waits before turning off.

1.Tap System.

2.Tap Automatic Maintenance.

3.Tap Auto Power OFF Setting.

4.Tap on one of the options:

• Off: Automatic shutdown is turned off.

• 60 Mins, 30 Mins, 10 Mins, 5 Mins: Your camera will automatically shutdown after the selected time.

5.Tap OK, then Save.

Change Measurement Unit (Meter to Feet)

Change your camera’s measurement unit.

1.Tap System.

2.Tap Unit.

3.Tap on one of the options:

• Meter: Measure using a metric unit.

• Feet: Measure using an imperial unit.

4.Tap OK to save.

Sign Out

Disconnect your camera from the app by signing out of the app.

1.Tap System.

2.Tap Sign Out.

3.Tap OK.

Restore to Default Settings

Restore your camera’s menu and app settings to its factory default settings.

ACH20-1B Thermal Monocular Camera: Troubleshooting

The following article provides some troubleshooting tips for using your thermal monocular camera.

Camera’s image/screen is blurry.

Adjust your camera’s diopter to your eyesight. Before you begin, it is highly recommended that you adjust your camera’s diopter to your eyesight. Focusing your view will minimize eye strain and fatigue.

1.Point your camera at something solid.

2.Begin turning the diopter adjustment dial. As you are adjusting the dial, move it left or right until the display appears clearly in your camera’s screen.

Camera’s Wi-Fi hotspot is not showing.

• Wait a moment for it to appear in your phone’s Wi-Fi settings.

• When enabling your camera’s hotspot in your camera’s settings, try to press a couple more times.

• Ensure you have allowed the app to use your location, otherwise it will not be able to detect your camera’s Wi-Fi. Navigate to your phone’s settings, then open the Thermal Connection app settings, and enable Location — While Using the App.

Camera is not connecting to the app.

The Wi-Fi password is case sensitive. Make sure you enter the serial number in the same letter format, whether that is uppercase or lowercase.

Camera has disconnected from the app.

• Your camera’s hotspot dropped. Enable your camera’s wi-fi hotspot once more, and then login to the app again.

• After being inactive, your camera will either go into sleep mode or automatically shutdown, which in turn causes it to time-out in the app. To connect to the app again, you will need to first tap System > Sign Out.

Camera’s Live View is frozen in the app.

If the Live View is frozen perform a hard close of the app, then open it again.

Digital zoom is not working.

Digital zoom will not work while your camera’s menu is open. Press to exit the menu.

Camera is not recording images and videos.

Recording images and/or videos will not work while the menu is open or when your camera is connected to a computer. Press to exit the menu.

Camera’s screen is black.

Restart your camera. Press and hold to turn your camera off, and then back on.

Camera is not charging or slow to charge.

• Ensure you use the supplied micro-USB cable and that it is properly connected.
DANGER

◦ Improper battery replacement or use may result in fire, explosion, or other hazards.

◦ Only use accessories regulated by the manufacturer. Never use the charging cable or power adapter with another product.

◦ Make sure the plug is properly connected to the power socket.

◦ DO NOT charge your camera within 2 m of flammable materials.

◦ DO NOT connect multiple devices to one power adapter. The plug in the power socket could overheat and possibly cause a fire.

• Ensure the USB Mode is set to Off.

◦ Press and hold to open the menu.

Camera’s battery keeps draining.

You can preserve your camera’s battery life in the following ways:

How does my thermal monocular camera work?

To improve the visibility of objects in complete darkness, haze, or tough conditions, your thermal monocular camera uses infrared sensors to detect heat given off by a person, animal, or other objects. It creates images of that radiation called thermograms, which display the relative temperatures of different objects with different shades or colors. In a thermogram, warm objects stand out in a contrast or often cooler background. It is widely used in outdoor scenarios for hunting, rescue, animal observation, and more.

Is my thermal monocular camera battery-operated or hard wired?

Your thermal monocular camera is battery-operated, however, to charge the battery you will need to connect the micro-USB cable into your camera’s USB port and the other end into a power source.

Does my thermal camera only work at night?

No. Although thermal imaging cameras are most commonly used for nighttime vision, they can also be useful in daylight. The detection of heat radiation and the high contrast of thermal imaging cameras allow you to see the outlines of (warm-blooded) animals that camouflage well in their environments. It can also help distinguish animals or people in foggy or smoky conditions.

Can my thermal camera see-through walls, metal, or glass?

No, thermal imaging cameras do not see-through surface but detect surface temperatures.

Is thermal imaging and night vision the same thing?

No, thermal imaging can produce pictures without visible light while night vision cameras work by boosting ambient light. Their only common purpose is increasing visibility in low light conditions.

Can bright sunlight damage my camera’s lens?

Yes, aiming your camera’s lens with the lens cap open at powerful light sources (i.e. the sun) is not recommended, as this may adversely affect the accuracy or damage the thermal imager.

What is the clicking noise my camera makes?

This is simply the noise your camera makes while you are shifting it between different fields of view. The noise you are hearing is your camera focusing and calibrating the image to achieve the highest resolution possible.

Should I charge my camera’s battery before first use?

Since your camera’s battery is delivered partially charged, it is recommended that you fully charge it before first use.

How do I charge my camera’s battery?

1.Insert the adapter plug for your region into the back of the universal power adapter.

2.Open the sealing cap covering your camera’s USB port.

3.Connect the micro-USB cable to your camera’s USB port and the other end of the cable into the universal power adapter.

4.Plug into a power source.

After a few minutes the update will complete and you will see your camera’s live view image.

Follow the steps below to connect your thermal monocular camera to the Thermal Connection app.

Note: The frequency bands and transmitting power (radiated and/or conducted) nominal limits applicable to this radio equipment are as follows: Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz (2.4 GHz to 2.4835 GHz) 20 dBm.

Step 1 – Download the App

Download your camera’s mobile app, Thermal Connection.

Step 2 – Enable Your Camera’s Wi-Fi Hotspot

Looking into your camera:

• Press and hold to open the menu.

Step 3 – Connect to the App

What is Symmetric Encryption Algorithm?

In the modern stage of cryptography, the concept of key secrecy was introduced, giving rise to a new encryption algorithm paradigm called symmetric encryption algorithm.

Symmetric encryption algorithm, also known as single-key algorithm, is characterized by the use of an identical key for both encryption and decryption. They can be broadly classified into two major types: sequence ciphers (also known as stream ciphers) and block ciphers.

The core of stream cipher encryption is the key (also known as the seed key) that goes through a key stream generator to produce a key stream. This key stream is then XORed with the plaintext byte stream to obtain the ciphertext byte stream, encrypting one bit or one byte of the data stream at a time. The encryption process is illustrated in Figure 1.

The core of block cipher encryption is to divide the plaintext data into fixed-length blocks and encrypt them using a key, resulting in ciphertext blocks. The plaintext is encrypted on a byte-by-byte basis. The process is illustrated in Figure 2.

Block cipher encryption is achieved by grouping the plaintext. To enhance the security in the encryption process and facilitate grouping, two key points are usually considered: encryption modes and padding modes. As for the specific selection of encryption mode or padding mode, it often depends on practical application scenarios, required security strength, and other factors.

The introduction of encryption modes mainly considers whether there should be any correlation between different blocks or whether each block should be encrypted independently. Different encryption modes represent different iteration methods used in the encryption process of plaintext blocks. Table 1 provides the advantages and disadvantages of using different encryption modes.

The introduction of padding modes mainly addresses the issue of plaintext that is not a multiple of the specified block size. In such cases, the remaining bits need to be padded to match the algorithm’s specified block size. During encryption, the plaintext is padded, and during decryption, the padding needs to be removed according to the same padding mode. Table 2 presents several common padding methods in block ciphers.

1. Basic function description

This section describes the main functions of the high speed and the infrared dome cameras and the general principles of their implementation, nospecific operation methods involved. Automatic matching technology of PTZ / rotation rate

Set up and call preset position
The preset function is that the dome camera can store the horizontal angle, tilt angle, camera lens focal length and other position parameters of the PTZ in the current state into the memory. 1. Operating Environment

It is recommended to run under the operating system environment of Win7 and above. In order to better operate and use the system, and fully reflect the performance and effects, please ensure that the following items are set or installed correctly after the system is successfully installed:

The display resolution is set to 1920 x 1080 or higher, and the color is set to enhanced color (32-bit), please refer to Windows help document or online help for how to set the resolution and color of monitor.
Make sure that the font required for this system-Song font is installed in the Windows operating system. If the interface of this system is displayed abnormally, the fonts required by this system may not be installed, or the required fonts have been damaged, and fonts need to be reinstalled.
1. Instructions for embedded Web server

You need to download controls before using this series of network video products for the first time.

Note: Use the IE browser of Windows operating system, to ensure that the version is 8.0 or above. Except for Firefox and Google browsers, please do not use other third-party browsers and any IE browser shell programs such as Maxthon, Window of the World. We do not guarantee that you can log in normally with such software.

1. Login Device

The default IP address of the device is: 192.168.1.2. Please set the IP address of the computer and the IP address of the device in the same network segment: for example, set the IP address of the computer to 192.168.1.3 to access the device through IE browser. Open the IE browser, input the IP address of the network video device in the address bar, and click “go” to log in to the device. If it is the first time to use, the following interface will appear.

Enter the correct user name and password in the login window, and click “Login” to enter the preview interface later.

Description:

If the equipment port number is modified, you need to enter the correct port number, and the default port number is 3000.
If the device supports activation, the password is the one set at the time of activation.
If the device does not support activation, the password is 1111.

The video preview serial interface will prompt the link to download the video plug-in as Fig.5.3.2.2. Click the link to download and install the plug-in. The IE interface needs to be closed during installation.

Please click to download the plugin, if installed already, pleasejust press F5 to refresh it (no need install again). Please close the browser during installing.

After the video plug-in is installed successfully, enter the device IP again and log in the correct account password to enter the preview interface.

After you log in to the system, the prompt box of “change password” will appear in the lower right corner of the desktop. Please click the text in the box, link to the user management interface, select the user, and click “edit”, as shown in the figure below.

After successful login, the system will display the [Live View] interface by default. In other interfaces, users can return to the video preview interface by clicking the [Live View] button at the top of the interface.

Voice intercom switch. When enabled, it can transmit local audio to the front-end equipment through the network for output.

Audio preview volume adjustment button, the local output volume can be adjusted by adjusting the slider position.

Electronic zoom button. After enabling this function, click the left mouse button to draw the area to be enlarged, and then you can zoom in and view the area. (Supported by some models)

Displays the frame rate button. After clicking, the preview interface displays the frame rate information of the current video. Click again to cancel the display of frame rate information. (supported by some models)

Full screen button. Realize full screen preview video, double click left mouse button or press the [Esc] key of keyboard to exit full screen preview video status

Area exposure button: when there’s a large light difference of the monitoring scene, the area to be adjusted can be selected through the area exposure function to make moderate light of the key monitoring area.

Area focus button: when there’s a deep and large scale scene area of the monitoring scene, you can select the part of the scene that needs to be focused clearly through the area focus function.

Click the one-key watch button to automatically set the current scene to the watch preset (default preset 1), and turn on the watch function at the same time. If you want to stop the one-key watch function, please cancel the standby action in the dome camera setting-basic setting.

3D positioning button, click the mouse to control, adjust the scene to be monitored to the video center. Specific operation as follows:

1 , Click the left key on the required monitoring point in the monitoring video screen, and move the corresponding point to the video center;

Press and hold the left key to the bottom right to pull down a rectangular area, then the center of the corresponding delimited area will be moved to the center of the video and zoomed in;
Press and hold the left key to the top left to pull out a rectangular area, then move the center of the corresponding delimited area to the center of the video and zoom out.

Laser alarm button, click once enabling, after clicking, the laser is turned on, click again, the laser is turned off. The laser working temperature is – 15 °C – 45 °C, the longest lasting time is 300 seconds, and it will beautomatically turned off if it exceeds 300 seconds.

Strong light warning button, click enable, the strong light will turn on after enabling, and then click again, the strong light will turn off. (supported by some models)

Sound warning button. Click “Enable”, and play the alert tone after enabling. (Supported by some models)

Manual tracking button, click once enabling, and then click the target manually to track the target.

The function of the presetting bit is that the camera can store the location parameters of the PTZ under the current status such as the level angle, angle of inclination and the lens focal length of the camera into the storage and the PTZ as well as the camera can be adjusted to this position through calling the these parameters if necessary.

[Auto cruise]: Arrange some preset into the automatic cruise queue as per the requirements. Calling of this cruise can ensure the automatic cycle call of the equipment as per the set preset order as well as the stipulated interval. Each cruise trajectory can store 32 preset points.

[Auto scan]: Ensure that through set the left and right limit well in advance, the camera can scan back and forth levelly and automatically with the set speed between the left and right limit.

[Pattern]: The dome camera can continuously record the moving trajectory for 600 seconds. After the function of mode path is started, the dome camera can scan round and monitor as per the recorded moving trajectory automatically.

[Intelligent scene]: Through selecting the scene set in advance, the scene change can be realized and the function of intelligent analysis can be started quickly. If the user has set up an intelligent analysis cruise, then the cruise mode is enable after 10 minutes.

Select the needed frame rate in the pull-down list; stream will switch to designated frame rate.(Frame rates supported by different N/P Mode and resolutions are slightly different, please refer to actual product)

[New]

To add a new user, you need to set the user name, password and permission. The user name and password can only be entered in English letters and numbers. After the above three items are filled in, click the [Save] button.

In the user list, click [Edit] to open the password modification prompt box, input the old password, new password and confirm the password, and then click Modify. [Remove]

Stream Type	You can choose pure video or audio video.
Resolution	Set the resolution of the video. (different models are compatible with different maximum resolutions).
Bit Rate	Set the bit rate of the video in KB / s. Code rate range: 32 ~ 16384kb / s. Tip: select the required resolution from the [resolution] drop-down list, and the code stream can be switched to the specified[code rate]. When [compression method] is [constant rate], the [code rate] represents the actual code rate of the code stream; when [compression method] is [variable rate], the [code rate] represents the maximum allowed code rate of the code stream. (Different models support different code rates, please refer to the actual interface)

	Sets the frame rate of the current video. In the [PAL] system, some models support 50 frames, and the maximum support is 25 frames when

The ratio of I frame and P frame can be set. The closer to smoothness, Smooth Video Streaming the better the smoothness of dynamic scene, the closer to clarity, and the better the video clarity performance of static scene.

Smooth Display Mode Set whether to turn on unobstructed mode. (supported by some models)

According to the situation, users can encrypt video data to improve the security of network transmission. [Encrypt type] select the required encryption algorithm (currently only AES algorithm is available),

Encrypt type

[Encrypt password] set the encryption password, and [password confirmation] input the encryption password again to ensure that the password entered twice is the same. Click [Save] to take effect.

After setting, click Save to take effect. Click [reset] to restore the last saved parameter.

After the front-end connection supporting the key area setting, you can set the key area here. The image quality displayed in the focus area is higher.

Click the “Start to Drawing” button to drag the video by holding down the left mouse button, and then you can set the key area. Several key areas can be set up. Click “Delete Area” to delete all the key areas that have been set.
Click [Save] to save the corresponding parameter settings. Click [Cancel]to restore the last saved parameter
[Stream]: Select stream which needs to be set in [Stream] pull-down list.
[ROI Upgrade Level]: According to actual needs, set image quality of key region, such as [Best], [Better], [Good], [Normal] and [Poor], etc.

Select ROI Type- Status Tracking, at the same time select Initiation to track the dynamic status of key areas intelligently.

Note: after adjusting the resolution, video coding and other options, you need to adjust the code rate, compression coding and other parameters according to the actual image effect.

Parameters Description

Audio Encoding Set the audio encoding mode of the bitstream.

Audio Sample Rate Sets the audio sampling rate for the bitstream.

Audio Control	It supports two modes: LineIn and MicIn. The control mode needs to be selected according to the output signal amplitude of the external audio equipment. When the external mic small signal (mv level signal) is
Type	connected, please select micin; when the external equipment is the active audio equipment (V level signal), please select linein mode. (supported by some models)
Volume value	The output sound size can be adjusted, and the adjustment range is 0-100. The smaller the value is, the smaller the output audio signal amplitude of the device is; the larger the value is, the larger the output audio signal amplitude of the device is.
Audio Denoising	The filter level of environmental noise can be set. The default level is 1. When the value is 0, turn off the audio noise reduction function. (supported by some models) The audio output type includes built-in speaker, external sound source and

To modify the audio parameters, the intercom function needs to be turned off.

Image – Template Selection

In[Current Template], select the template to modify the parameter. In [ template name], you can define the template name.

Set image display effect in [[format]], PAL and NTSC can be chosen.

Select the method to display image mirror in [[Image location]]. Four methods to display image position are supported: horizontal mirror, vertical mirror, inverted flip, normal, and so on.

Image -Image Adjustment

Click next to [Image Adjustment] to expand the[Image Adjustment] interface. The user can set the brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, sharpness, white balance, image style and indoor/ outdoor modes of the picture through the image adjustment

menu.

Image -Exposure Set

Click the > button next to [Exposure Set] to expand the [Exposure Set] setting interface.

Parameters Description

Shutter speed	You can set the maximum exposure time allowed to affect the brightness of the image. If the exposure time is too long, the moving image will be dragged, and if the exposure time is too short, the video picture will be darker.
SmartIR	It is mainly used for infrared night vision model. When the overexposure scene appears in the picture, the camera will automatically reduce the brightness if this function is turned on to avoid unclear objects due to overexposure.
Max Gain Set	Adjusting the maximum gain value can compensate the picture of brightness under low illumination. The larger the gain value is, the higher the brightness will be, but the greater the noise will be
Exposure Mode	There are utomatic / manual / shutter priority / aperture priority. In “auto” mode, aperture, shutter and gain are adjusted automatically; in “manual” mode, shutter, aperture and gain adjustment can be set manually; in “shutter priority” mode, shutter size is adjusted manually, and other parameters are adjusted automatically; in “aperture priority” mode, aperture size is adjusted manually, and other parameters are adjusted automatically.
Brightness	Set up the desired Fig. Brightness value.
Auto Exposure Speed	Adjust the scroll bar to set up the exposure sensitivity. The larger

the value is, the faster the exposure response will be when the scene changes.

Image -Focus

Click the “ ” button next to [Focus] to expand the [Focus] setting interface.

Parameters Description

Focus mode	[Auto] / [Manual] / [Semi-auto] are optional. Under the [Auto] mode, focus automatically according to the monitoring scene. Under the [Manual] mode, focus clearly and manually by focusing on the preview interface. Under [Semi-auto] mode, one PTZ action triggers one focus, and there is no automatic focusing when the same scene image changes.
Min focus distance	The minimum focusing distance can be set, and it can be set as 6m for the outdoor large-scale scene and 1.5m for the indoor scene.

Image -Back Light Set

Click the “ ” button

next to [Backlight] to expand the [Backlight] setting

interface.

Parameters	Description
	It is mainly used in road monitoring scenes.
HLC	It can suppress the glare such as car headlights after being turned on, thus reducing the effect of glare. In the drop-down list, there are [off], [ultra wide dynamic auto], [ultra wide dynamic manual] and backlight
Super-Wide dynamic Grade	compensation options. Select [ultra wide dynamic auto] or [ultra wide dynamic

manual] to display the [ultra wide dynamic] slider. Drag the slider to set the wide dynamic level that meets the requirements of the scene. The larger the value, the more obvious the effect.

Select [backlight compensation] and check [set backlight compensation area] and click Save to set light compensation and improve the brightness in the setting area

Image – Image Enhancement

Click the button next to [Image Enhancement] to expand the [Image

Enhancement] setting interface.

Parameters Description

Defog

Select [Enabled], [Disabled] and other options according to actual needs.

Digital Noise Reduction

In the drop-down list, you can select [close], [normal mode] and [expert mode]. Select [normal mode], display the [noise reduction level] slider, drag the slider to set the noise reduction level. Select [expert mode], and the sliders of[ airspace noise reduction level] and [time domain noise reduction level ]will pop up respectively. Drag the two sliders to set [airspace noise reduction level] and [time domain noise reduction level] respectively.

Note:

After the HD parameters are set, click[Save] to save.

Click [Cancel] to restore the last saved parameter.

[Defaults]: the parameters of each template can be restored to the default settings.

Image settings – > Schedule

Users can use different templates for equipment at different time periods by means of using HD template, to ensure that the effects of videos are the best in different time periods.

[Day]: Set the HD template during the day.

[Night]: Set the HD template at night.

For the [Mode], Select [Infrared] and [White LED and Infrared control] mode according to the actual demand;

Parameters Description

White LED Control Mode	The white-light sources control mode includes automatic, manual starting, automatic closing and timing.
IR Control Mode	The infrared lamp control mode includes automatic, manual starting and automatic closing.
Zoom Match	When selecting the [ON] mode, the brightness and power of infrared lamp are matched with the camera irradiation distance, and the infrared lamp can realize optimal control and automatically adjust the infrared lamp bank power under different variable magnification figures. When selecting the [OFF] mode, the infrared lamp start depends on the brightness of each lamp bank set by the user, but cannot adapt to the shot variable magnification. Customers are recommended to select the variable magnification matching start function.

When closing the variable magnification matching, set the

Near Lamp Brightness low beam brightness, with the level of 0-10, and the

brightness should be increased gradually.

When closing the variable magnification matching, set the

Far Lamp Brightness high beam brightness, with the level of 0-10, and the

brightness should be increased gradually.

[Save]: Click [Save] to save the current setting.

[Cancel]:Click [Cancel]to restore the last saved parameters.

Note:

the light distance for white light lamp is 30 meters, when the variable magnification is over 30 meters, turn on the white light lamp manually to fill light is not recommended.
For the model of the white light lamp, indoor and outdoor monitoring, if the near scene (2 to 3 meters) has a large reflective object environment, it is recommended turn off the white light lamp to avoid the repeated turn on/off of the light supplement lamp caused by the strong light reflection that will affect the image effect.

[Stream]: select the code stream to stack character information.

[Channel Title]

Select the [Channel Title]] check box to overlay the channel name on the screen.
Enter a name in the input box on the right to set the channel name.
From the [Color] drop-down list, select the color you like for the superimposed content.
If you need to change the position of the superimposed character, select the [user defined position] check box, and click on the small screen with the mouse to specify a new position for the superimposed character.

[Date]

Select the [Date] check box to overlay the date and time on the picture.
Select your preferred date format from the drop-down list on the right.
If you need to include the week in the displayed time and date, select the[Show Week] check box.
As required, the time can be displayed in 24-hour or 12-hour mode. Select the corresponding option from the 2 buttons below.
From the [Color] drop-down list, select the color you like for the superimposed content.
If you need to change the position of the superimposed character, select the [user defined position] check box, and click on the small screen with the mouse to specify a new position for the superimposed character.

[Additional]

[Additional] at present, there are 5 areas for stacking.
Input the text content to be superimposed from the input box below, including Chinese characters, English and common punctuation marks. You can stack multiple lines of content in one area as needed. Some models support peripheral mode. Click [insert] to add peripheral information.
From the [color] drop-down list, select the color you like for the superimposed content.
Select the [user defined location] check box and click on the small screen with the mouse to specify a new location for the superimposed characters.

[OSD Size]

You can specify the size of the superimposed characters, select the preferred character size (unit: pixel) in the [OSD Size] drop-down list, or select [Self-Adaptive] to let the system automatically adjust the character size.

After all the above parameters are set, click [Save ]to save and take effect; click [Cancel]to restore the last saved parameters.

OSD->LOGO

Enter the path of the image file in the [LOGO File] input box, or click the [Browse] button to find the image file in the pop-up window.
After clicking the [Upload] button, the picture will be uploaded to the equipment, and the equipment will restart automatically after uploading the picture.
After the equipment is restarted, select the [Enable] check box to overlay the LOGO picture on the video. If the [Enable] check box is canceled, the LOGO will not be displayed.
With [Enable]selected, select the [Customlized Location]check box and click on the video screen with the mouse to specify a new display location for the LOGO.

Note:

The LOGO picture must be a bitmap file in bmp format. The bitmap depth is 24, the size is smaller than 200 * 200 pixels, and the height and width are divisible by 4. Please use a picture that meets the requirements.
Overlapped LOGO will automatically remove its black and white background.

OSD- > Privacy Mask

According to the user’s needs, Shelter area can be set up on the picture according to the user demand to protect key information from being seen. 24 shelter areas can be set up at most for each equipment.

Draw up the area to be sheltered in the small preview window.
Click [Add area] button.
Shielding magnification: Set up the magnification value, only when the variable magnification value is greater than the shielding magnification, the private shelter area will display, or it will not display.
If the user wants to delete the shelter area, click the square frame before the serial number to select corresponding shelter area, then click [Delete area] button to delete the area.
Dome Set

The specific parameters displayed depend on the specific model of the dome camera. Please refer to the actual manual.

5.9.1 Basic Set

Basic Set ->Basic Information

[Auto Flip Enable]: When the perpendicularity of the dome camera is 90°, the dome camera will rotate horizontally by 180° if moving along the original direction continuously.

[Preset Freeze Enable]: During the calling of preset, the image will stop at the preset all the time without showing the image during the calling and will come back when reaching the calling preset.

[Enable Digitial Zoom]: After starting, when the optics variable magnification reaches to the maximum, continue to click the variable magnification to start digital variable magnification.

[Enable Preset Snapshot]: After starting, it will capture pictures during the calling preset and save them in the front-end storage medium.

[Enable Proportion Zooming]: It will adjust the operating speed automatically with the variable magnification figure after starting; if not, all zooming speed is the same, so it is better to start.

[Enable Scan Record]: After starting, it will record during scanning, and the video files will be stored in the front-end storage medium.

[Enable Mode Record]: After starting, it will record during the mode path, and the video files will be stored in the front-end storage medium.

[Control Speed]: The control speed level includes high, medium and low levels, and the maximum speed of the PTZ can be changed by modifying this item.

[Zoom Speed Level]: The variable magnification speed level includes high, medium and low levels, and the variable magnification speed can be changed by modifying this item.

[Temperature control mode]: [Auto], [Close] and [FOG] are optional.

[Auto stop time (s)]: The auto stop time refers that the dome camera will stop the PTZ from working if it fails to receive the stop code for a long time, and it can be 5s, 15s, 30s and 60s.

[Preset speed]: The preset speed level includes high, medium and low levels, and the preset speed can be changed by modifying this item.

[P/T First]: There are two options including network and RS485. Select the PTZ priority control mode according to specific needs.

[Priority Delay Time (s)]: Delay time between two control modes. For example: The setting time is 30s; when selecting the network for the PTZ priority mode, RS485 cannot control the dome camera within 30s after the network control.

[Standby Action]: Select the [Enable] option button behind the standby action to set the standby action. The standby action includes four options such as preset 1, scanning 1, cruise 1 and mode path 1. Click the save button to save setting after modifying the standby action.

[Standby time (s)]: Select the [Start] option button behind the standby action to set the standby time. The standby time includes 30, 60, 300, 600 and 1800. Click the save button to save setting after modifying the standby action.

[Power-lost memory mode]: Save the PTZ position time automatically. After power on again, the dome camera will return to the PTZ position saved last time.

[RS485 control gimbal]: Enable the camera and 5880 / 5820 network keyboard to

control the operation of the dome camera through RS485 control line.

Motion Set – Auto cruise set

[Cruise No.]: The dome camera can support 16 automatic cruise numbers (1-16) totally.

[Cruise list]: Show the preset supported by the automatic cruise number.

[Preset]: Select 1-64 and 100-255 preset, click [Add] button and add corresponding preset to the cruise list.

[Dwell time (s)]: The standing time of corresponding preset can be set as 1-60.

[Add]: Click [Add] to add corresponding preset to the cruise list of the current automatic cruise number.

[Delete]: Click [Delete] to delete corresponding preset to the cruise list of the current automatic cruise number.

[Call]: Click [Call] to operate automatic cruise of corresponding automatic cruise number.

Motion Set – Auto scan set

[Scan No.]: The dome camera can support 8 automatic scanning (1-8) totally.

[Scan type]: The scanning type includes Pan Scan, Auto Scan, Frame Scan, Random Scan, Tilt Scan, Full Scan and Spiral Scan.

[Scan speed]: Change the speed of Pan Scan, Auto Scan, Tilt Scan, Full Scan and Spiral Scan by changing the scanning speed.

[Border 1]: The user can operate the dome camera and click [Border 1] to store the current position as the scanning route left boundary after reaching the expected position.

[Border 2]: The user can operate the dome camera and click [Border 2] to store the current position as the scanning route right boundary after reaching the expected position.

[Call]: Click [Call] to scan corresponding automatic scanning number.

Motion Set – Mode path setting

[Mode No.]: The dome camera can support 8 mode paths (1-8) totally.

[Used(%)]: Show the percentage stored and used when recording the mode path.

[Left Time(s)]: Show the rest time when recording the mode path (the dome camera can support 600s record at most).

[Record]: Click [Record] to record the mode path, then the user can operate the dome camera, and the dome camera can record the user’s operation.

[Delete]: Click [Delete] to delete the mode path of the corresponding mode route number.

[Call]: Click [Call] to operate the mode path of the corresponding mode route number.

Motion Set – Zone set

[Zone No.]: The dome camera can support 8 regional instructions (1-8) totally.

[Left Border]: The user can operate the dome camera and click [Left Border] to store the current position as the regional instruction left boundary after reaching the expected position.

[Right Border]: The user can operate the dome camera and click [Right Border] to store the current position as the regional instruction right boundary after reaching the expected position.

[Delete]: Click [Delete] to delete the regional instruction of corresponding regional instruction numbers.

Motion Set – Limit set

[Enable Limit]: After checking, the movement area of the dome camera will be controlled in the limit area.

[Set]: Clicking the set button, the left preview window will show the prompt information: Set the upper/lower/left/right limit according to the prompt information; if you want to set horizontal limit rather than vertical limit, set the upper and lower limits at the same position.

[Delete]: Delete the set limit.

[DHCP]: set whether the DHCP server automatically assigns IP to the device.

[IPv4 Address]: set the IP address, subnet mask and gateway of the device.

[IPv6 Address]: this device supports IPv6.The user can select IPv6 mode as router announcement / DHCP / Manual mode in IPv6 setting. If manual mode is selected, correct IPv6 address and IPv6 subnet prefix length (value range is 3-127) need to be entered.

[DNS]: set the DNS server address.

[MAC]: displays the physical address of the device.

[MTU]: set the size of MTU, ranging from 500 to 1500, and the default is 1500. After setting, click Save to save the setting, and it will take effect after restarting the equipment.

[HTTP Port]: enter [HTTP port number] in the input box on the page, restart the device, and then modify the HTTP port number.

[RTSP Port]: enter [RTSP port number] in the input box on the page, restart the device, and then modify the RTSP port number.

Only when port mapping is enabled, can the ports of network devices be opened normally. Port mapping methods include automatic and manual.

When “Auto” mode is selected and UPnP is enabled, users do not need to do port mapping on the router, only need to turn on the UPnP function on the router.
Select “Manual”, the user needs to manually map the port on the router. In manual mode, the user can specify the external port to be mapped under the public IP. The user does not need to modify the port of the network device itself. If the router or gateway does not support the UPnP function, the user can fill in the current mapped external port status here.
After the port mapping, the status column will show whether it is effective. At the same time, the external port under the currently mapped public IP will be displayed in the external port. If users need to access network devices through the public network, they need to use the currently mapped external port to access.

IP firewall, also known as black-and-white list, is provided for users to manage access rights more flexibly.

[No Limit]: select the[No Limit] button to remove the restriction of the black and white list. All IP addresses can be accessed, not only the IP addresses in the list.

[Whitelist]: if you want to allow only a few trusted IPS to access the device, you can select the [Whitelist] button, enter the trusted IP addresses one by one, click [Add] to add to the list, and then click [Save] to make the whitelist effective. At this time, only a number of IPS specified in the list can successfully log in to the device, and login requests from other IPS will be rejected, regardless of whether their user name and password are correct or not. Users can specify up to 16 trusted IP addresses in the white list.

Note: when adding the white list, please confirm whether to add the IP address of the current user.

[Blacklist]: if you want to block some IP addresses and prohibit them from accessing the equipment, you can select the button of[ blacklist], input the IP addresses you want to block one by one, click [Add]to add them to the list, and then click [Save] to make the blacklist effective. At this time, the login request from any IP in the list willbe rejected, regardless of whether its user name and password are correct or not.

Note: when adding the blacklist, please confirm whether the IP address of the current user is added.

[Delete]: if you need to delete some IPS from the list, just select the check box on the left of these IPS and click [delete]. Note that all IPS cannot be deleted when deleting the white list, otherwise the device will not be able to log in successfully.

Note: IP filtering can only be judged when a user is newly logged in, and cannot filter the logged in IP. It is strongly recommended to restart the device in time after each blacklist configuration to shield the illegal IP address.

The email server address input format is smtp.xx.com, where XX represents the

email server and is the login email of the account, for example, smtp.163.com.

The account and password are the user name and password of the login SMTP server mailbox.
The encryption mode can be none, SSL or TLS.

After setting the subject and CC email address, click[test ]to test whether the mail server function is normal. Click [save] to save the current settings. Click [reset] to restore the last saved parameter.

The user sets the mobile alarm area. When there is an object moving in the setting area, the video preview interface will prompt the video mobile alarm, and the corresponding alarm linkage will be carried out according to the setting.

The mobile alarm detection function is enabled by default. Drag the left mouse button in the video screen to draw the area to detect the mobile alarm. Click [Delete Region] to delete the mobile alarm detection area.
Set the mobile alarm sensitivity, the higher the value, the more sensitive the mobile alarm detection.

After the occlusion alarm is turned on, when the image in the video screen is blocked, the alarm situation will be detected according to the sensitivity.

Check the [Enable] check box to turn on the video blocking alarm detection function, and uncheck to turn off the video blocking alarm detection function.
Set the video occlusion alarm sensitivity, the higher the value, the more sensitive the video occlusion alarm detection.
The user can set the [Schedule] as required, and only detect the alarm within the set date and time period.

Some models support abnormal alarm. For exception types, you can select [Disk Full], [Disk R/W Error], [IP Address Conflict], [MAC Address Conflict], and set [Common Link] and [Alarm output].

In [Common Link ], you can set [Send To Server ]and [Send Email]. ([IP Address Conflict] and [MAC Address Conflict] cannot be set.)

[Alarm Output] the alarm output port number can be selected.

Event Management – >Temperature and humidity alarm.(Some models support this function).

When user select [Temperature and humidity alarm] in [Peripheral type], this interface can be set. (User can set peripherals in [Configuration] – [System] – [Serial Port] – [Serial Port Set] – [Work Mode], choose [peripherals], and select [Temperature and humidity alarm] in [peripheral type]). User needs to check [enable] to open [Temperature and humidity alarm] function, and then, setting interval, temperature threshold, humidity threshold, schedule, link type, etc.

Description: When the AEW speed dome starts the intelligent analysis, the speed dome will scan the surrounding to revise the orientation automatically to promote the tracking accuracy.

[Scene number]: The scene number stands for different scene, can set total 16 scene, the number range is from 1 to 16. Different scenes can be set through the dome camera control menu at the left bottom. „

[Scene Name]: The name of the scene can be defined by users themselves.

[Event set]: the device supports a variety of algorithms, such as behavior analysis, crowd aggregation, face detection, number of people statistics, and on duty detection, which are mutually exclusive. Only one of them can be enabled. Some devices support face detection, population statistics, on duty detection algorithm, video

diagnosis, audio anomaly detection, etc.

Notes:

Interfaces and menus of different model may be different due to different functions they support, please refer to actual interfaces.
Some algorithms are mutually exclusive with other algorithms, and the other algorithms can be enabled at the same time.
Select the corresponding algorithm in [Event Type] and set the parameters of the algorithm.

Check the behavior analysis and linkage tracking simultaneously and when the target triggers the behavior analysis alarm, it will follow the tracking action. Select the behavior analysis and intelligent tracking in the algorithm configuration and then set the corresponding settings; the behavior analysis setting is the same as above and the intelligent tracking setting is as following.
Set the longest tracking time (second): it indicates the duration of the dome camera for tracking the target and the default longest time is 300 seconds. When set to 0s, the dome camera keeps tracking until the target disappears.
Set the needed tracking rate manually and confirm a suitable rate of the target on the screen by adjusting the rate. When tracking, it will track the target as per this magnification; click the tracking rate setting button to save the setting.

By setting the [Condition], click [Statistics] to display the statistics result in the column [Result]. Click [Export] to save the statistical data in the local. (Some models support this function).

Intelligent Retrieval->Face Statistics

This interface is used for statistics and exporting face images. (If using statistical function, the camera should install micro SD card.)

After setting up statistic parameters, click the [Statistics] button to start statistics. Point [list] and [pie chart] switch the statistics result. Point the [Export] button to export the statistics from the camera.

By setting the [Condition], click [Statistics] to display the statistics result in the column [Result]. Click [Export] to save the statistical data (.xls) in the local. (Some models support this function).

[Scene NO.]: check alarm information about the related scene.

[Event]: check certain or all VCA events alarm information.

[Rule ID]: check certain or all rule’s alarm information.

[Reset]: Reset the alarm times of the event,it will restart from 1 when alarm occurs.

[Clear]: clear all alarm information from current list.

Note: Click the path of the alarm snapshot image to preview the local image. This is a real-time function. After switching the interface, the information will be cleared and recorded again. This interface only displays the latest alarm information. If you want to view more pictures, you need to view them in the path of smart analysis snapshot.

Capture facial images

When the resource allocation is Face Snapshot, this menu will be displayed. In the menu, there are submenus of Snapshot Setting, Deployment Time and link mode.

Face Detection – > Snapshot

Users set relevant parameters for snapping settings as needed, such as [Detection Target], [push Strategy], [Snapshot Mode], and so on.

Check the [Detection Target] box. The device supports face and humanoid

capture mode.

Set [Detect target][ Picture Push Strategy][ Snap Times][ Min body size (pixels)] and Setup minimal face size.(Different model may be different due to different arithmetic they support, please refer to actual interfaces)
If checked[Capture background image], When capturing a face / humanoid image, the background image can be captured at the same time.
If Check[Enable Face Exposure] , the device supports face exposure, and parameter information such as [face exposure brightness] and [face exposure time] need to be set.
AS needed, Check [Vivo Testing] > [Show Alarm Rule]> [Display Target].
Some devices support the mask algorithm and check the face attribute alarm as [Wearing mask/ Not wearing mask] so that the detection mode of the mask algorithm can be set.

(2) Click save after setting.

Description:

[Picture Push Strategy] = >[Best]: it is necessary to screen out a small face map with the highest comprehensive quality score in this trajectory.
[Picture Push Strategy] = > [Fastest]: it is necessary to select a small face map that meets the comprehensive quality threshold in a short time to push.
[Capture Mode] = > [Full Snap]: it means not controlled by the security boundary and not filtered by the security boundary threshold. All pictures are sent to the push module by default.
[Capture Mode] = >[ High Quality]: it refers to filtering according to the default security boundary threshold value of the system, and sending the filtered results to the push graph module.
[Capture Mode]= > [User Defined]: filter according to the security boundary value set by user-defined, and send the filtered result to the push graph module.
[Face Exposure Brightness] refers to the reference brightness of the face exposure. when the face is identified in the preview screen, the device automatically adjusts the face brightness according to the reference brightness value. the larger the face brightness value is, the brighter the whole preview screen is. The parameter should not be set too low or too high.

Face Detection – > Schedule

The user can set the [deployment time] as required, and only detect the alarm within the set date and time period.

Click [save] to save the corresponding parameter settings.

Click [Cancel] to restore the last saved parameter.

Click [ ] to copy the time set in the current time slot to other time slot.

Face Detection – >Linkage Mode

Set the alarm link functions when warning condition occurs, such as [Alarm Output], [Record], [Snapshot], etc. (Link type supported by different models is slightly different, please refer to actual product)

Click [save] button to save the corresponding parameter settings.

Click [reset] will cause the parameters to be restored.

Face Configuration^ Area Set

This menu is suitable for scenarios where the scene is fixed and the person moves a small range of applications, such as classrooms. You need to pin a large scene, then push it up to the appropriate size to the detection area, and so on, until you overwrite all the areas you want to snap (the detected area that has been set up will be displayed on the video). After adding cruising, the ball opportunity to set up the detection area, in turn cruise snap.

Adjust the scene to be caught on the face
“Number of detections” indicates the number of times a loop is required to detect all areas
“Detection Time” indicates the residence time of each detection area
The detection area list can set up to 48 zones.

Note: In order to achieve the best detection effect, please install the camera and refer to the following conditions.

Please ensure the scene light is sufficient.
Face capture distance of 10 m if only the device’s own white light is used at night.

[image resolution]: sets the image resolution, which supports 1440p, 1080p, 960p and other resolutions.

[JPEG quality]: set the quality of snapshots and support the quality of 0,100.

[image size limit (KB)]: set the size of snapped images. The maximum supported is 8192KB.

Click [save] to save the corresponding parameter settings.

Click [Cancel] to restore the last saved parameter.

Switch the drop-down box to select the target video type, set the arming time, retention time (days), select the pre-recorded time, postpone the time.

[Record Status]: Show the device recording status.

[Record Beings]: Click to test beings switch to start recording and stop recording.

[Timed video recording]: It can set four time periods to perform timing video recording. Set the parameter of the conventional recording time period to the selected week.

[Offline Video Recording]: when the internet is disconnected, it will start timing recording into camera SD card .

Click the [Save] button to save the settings.Click the [Copy to…] button to copy the setting to other ports.Click [reset] will cause the parameters to be restored.

Notes: Offline Video Recording is only available on cameras with SD card, when turn on this function, schedule recording will be stopped.

The [Free Disk Space] can set the trigger conditions for storage in the edit box.

Stop recording: stop the recording and packaging operation.
Overwrite: Delete the earliest video files to create space for the latest recording.
Overwrite: Delete the earliest video files (except for Alarm Rec) to create space for the newest recording. (The log file will not be deleted)
Click [save] button to save the corresponding parameter settings.Click [reset] will cause the parameters to be restored.

[interval]: Enter the time interval in the input box, switch the drop-down box to select the interval unit.
Chose [Linked FTP],capture the photos then upload to FTP.

Users set face-specific FTP according to their needs, such as [Data Type]> [Server URL]> [Directory Structure and so on.

[Enable FTP]: Three enable states are supported: do not enable, enable 1 FTP, and

enable 2 FTP. When not enabled, the custom upload image name can be selected, and other interface contents are grayed out and cannot be modified; when 1 FTP is selected, the interface content becomes light, FTP selection is grayed out, and FTP1 is selected; when 2 FTP is enabled, all the interface content becomes light and the interface content can be modified.

[FTP Selection]: FTP1 and FTP2 are supported.

[Data Type]: Two data types of bayonet data and illegal data are supported.

[Server URL]: Y ou need to enter an address in the form of IP.

[Port]: The port number is a numeric value between 1-65535.

[User Name]: 15 characters are accepted.

[Password]: Enter up to 15 characters.

[Password Confirm]: Enter the same content as the password, and when the input is different from the password, a check prompt box will pop up.

[Directory Structure]: Five directory structures are supported: root directory,

first-level directory, second-level directory, third-level directory and fourth-level directory.

[Level 1 directory]: Toggle the drop-down box to select the directory option, which

is the same as the contents of other directories.

[Picture Rename]: If Check it, settings of the picture will display .if not, the

content of it will be hidden.

[Seperate]: There is a default delimiter and manual modification is not supported.

[Naming Rules]: You can modify it manually to set a new naming rule.

[Name Preview]: Displays the content to the right of the naming.

[Smart surveillance]: Common monitoring mode includes intelligent algorithms such as behavior analysis, crowd gathering, video diagnosis and audio anomaly detection,etc.

Time zone: set the time zone information.

[Local Time]: real time display of local time.

[Synchronization Time]: the synchronization equipment time is the same as the local time.

[Daylight-Saving Time]: set whether daylight saving time is enabled. Set the time range and offset time for daylight saving time.

[NTP server]: enter the legal IP address of the server.

[Port]: enter the corresponding port number.

[Time Interval]: enter the interval of automatic time calibration.

[Test]: Test NTP automatic timing.

[Enable GPU Acceleration]: After users select,camera enable GPU acceleration.

Notes:

If the video preview is bad or the system crashes, you need to disable the GPU acceleration, because the PC hardware driver doesnot match.

Appendix I Lightning Protection and Surge Protection

Lightning and surge protection shall be considered for outdoor cameras. On the premise of ensuring electrical safety, the following lightning protection measures can be taken:

The signal transmission line must be kept at least 50 meters away from the high-voltage equipment or high-voltage cable;
Outdoor wiring shall be routed under the eaves as much as possible;
For the open area, the sealed steel pipe must be buried for wiring, and the steel pipe shall be grounded at one point, and the overhead wiring is absolutely prohibited;
In strong thunderstorm area or high induced voltage area (such as high-voltage substation), additional high-power lightning protection equipment and lightning rod must be installed;

( 5 ) The lightning protection and grounding design of outdoor devices and lines must be considered in combination with the lightning protection requirements of buildings, and meet the requirements of relevant national standards and industry standards;

(6) The system must be equipotential grounded. The grounding device must meet the double requirements of system anti-interference and electrical safety, and shall not be short circuited or mixed connected with the zero line of the strong current network. When the system is grounded separately, the grounding impedance shall not be greater than 4 Q, and the cross-sectional area of the grounding conductor shall not be less than 25mm2.

Step by Step Instructions

1. Open the Bosch Configuration Manager and select the Refresh Search button at the top to search for all Bosch devices on the network

2. Right click on the IP address of the camera in the list and select “Set Session Authentication…”

3. Enter the username next to “User” and password next to “Password” of the camera
Select “OK”

4. If the correct credentials were entered the red lock next to the camera’s name in the list should disappear. (If it doesn’t, repeat steps 2 and 3)
Select the “Network” tab at the top and note the network information (You can also modify the network settings in this section of the tool)

5. Log into the Dahua recorder
Select “Setup”, then “Image”, and then “Registration” to open the Camera Registration page
Select “Device Search”

6. Scroll through the list of cameras on the top until you see the Bosch camera you are going to add
Check the box next to the Bosch camera and select “Add”
(If you don’t see the camera in the list, select “Manual Add” and skip to Step 8)

7. If the Status shows a Red X, select the Modify (Pencil) button next to the camera

ONVIF Camera Issues

This article will outline some troubleshooting that can be performed for device discovery, streaming issues, PTZ issues, and signal input issues.

**NOTE: If you are adding a third-party camera to DW Spectrum® and are having similar issues, please use the following articles or consult with the camera manufacturer for assistance.

Identifying the Issue

To troubleshoot devices that are having issues being discovered on the network, it is recommended to download and install ONVIF Device Manager (ODM) to the computer that the DW Spectrum® Server software is installed on, or on a computer that shares the same LAN as the Server.

This application is compatible for Windows OS only, but is a great tool for troubleshooting camera issues. If the Server is not using a Windows OS (Ubuntu/Linux or Macintosh), install ONVIF Device Manager on a Windows PC on the same LAN as your troubled ONVIF camera.

Device Discovery Issues

If your camera adheres to the ONVIF standard, DW Spectrum® IPVMS should be able to automatically discover the camera if it is on the same LAN as the Server.

If DW Spectrum® does not discover your camera automatically, possible causes may include:

Network Issue – the camera is on a different network, IP address assignment is incorrect, multicast is disabled for your LAN, failing network hardware, etc.
Device Issue – the camera incorrectly processes ONVIF requests, camera firmware is out of date, camera is experiencing software issues, camera is not powering, etc.

Using ODM to Find an ONVIF Camera

To scan for an ONVIF camera with ODM:

Launch ONVIF Device Manager (ODM) on the computer that is hosting your DW Spectrum® Server or on a Windows computer that shares the same LAN as the Server.

Enter the User ID and Password of the camera’s ONVIF profile.

If you do not see your camera listed in the Device List and know the IP address of the camera, enter the camera’s IP address into the Search box.

If the camera is still not discovered by ODM, the issue may be occurring because the device is presently unreachable with the current network configuration or because the device is not processing ONVIF requests correctly.

Power cycle the camera. Turn the camera’s power off, then back on to reboot the device.

After allowing the camera to reboot, search for the camera with ODM again.

If the issue persists and you have confirmed that the camera is powering on, proceed to the next troubleshooting step.

Confirm that the camera is connected to the same network as the Server.

Check the network cable connection between the camera and its PoE switch (or PoE injector).

If the network cable appear to be securely connected to the camera network, try to connect with the camera’s web client using a web browser.

Even if the camera is not being discovered by DW Spectrum® or ODM, you may still be able to access the camera’s settings. Otherwise, proceed to the next troubleshooting step.

If the camera is still not being discovered by DW Spectrum® or ODM, there may be an issue with the device itself.

Factory Default the camera. If you are able to connect with the camera’s web client, use the initialization/reset options to default the camera.

If you are not able to connect with the camera’s web client, use the Manual Reset button of the camera.

**NOTE: Some camera models cannot be physically opened and do not have a manual reset option. Check the camera’s user manual if you are unsure if the camera supports this option.

After defaulting the camera, test with ODM again to see if the camera can be discovered through ONVIF.

If you successfully discover the camera, connect with its web client to confirm that it is using its latest firmware version and that it is assigned to the camera network.

**NOTE: For more information on assigning cameras to a sub-network, please read Assigning A Static Address To New Or Defaulted Cameras.

If you are still unable to discover the camera after power cycling, factory defaulting, and confirming that the camera is connected to the network, you may want to bench test the camera.

If possible, uninstall the camera and separate it from its original connection to test with another PoE switch or PoE injector, a different network cable, and/or directly at the NVR.

Streaming Issues

Using ODM to Test an ONVIF Stream for No Signal

If DW Spectrum® IPVMS was able to discover the ONVIF camera, but when trying to view video through the DW Spectrum® Client you experience streaming issues, you can use ONVIF Device Manager (ODM) to test the video stream.

Some streaming issues may include:

DW Spectrum® Client does not display camera video and shows “No Signal”
Camera streams MJPEG instead of an h264 stream
Camera does not provide a secondary, low-resolution h264 stream

To test an ONVIF stream:

Using ONVIF Device Manager (ODM), enter the camera login, then select the camera from the Device List.

Next, Click the Live Video button for the camera.

If the video stream shows “No Signal” in ODM, reboot the camera and try again. If the video still does not display, you can copy the RTSP stream at the bottom of the video window in ODM and try to view the camera using a supported streaming client (e.g. VLC Player) or see if you can view the HTML5(MJPEG) video stream through the camera’s web client.

If the RTSP stream does not work, there may be an issue with the camera or with its firmware.

MJPEG Stream Shows Instead of an h264 Stream

The ONVIF camera should be able to stream an h264 stream (or h254, depending on model) through the DW Spectrum® Client. If when trying to view a camera’s main video stream through DW Spectrum® only results in the MJPEG stream displaying, use ODM to check for an h264 stream.

To check for an h264 stream:

Using ONVIF Device Manager (ODM), enter the camera login, then select the camera from the device list.

Next, click on Video Streaming.

At the bottom of the video window in ODM, click on Encoder and resolution to open the dropdown list.

Check for h264 with the necessary (highest) resolution. If you do not see this, then there may be an issue with the camera or with its firmware.

Camera Does Not Provide a Secondary Stream

The ONVIF camera should be able to provide a primary (high-resolution) and secondary (low-resolution) h264 stream. The secondary steam is utilized by DW Spectrum® IPVMS for processing features such as motion detection, camera analytics, and constant recording.

If you cannot see the secondary, low-resolution video stream through the DW Spectrum® IPVMS, use ODM to check for the secondary profile.

**NOTE: If the camera’s secondary stream resolution is greater than 1024×728, the media server will disable motion detection unless the Force motion detection for the stream setting is enabled (Camera Settings > Expert).

To check for a secondary, low-resolution h264 stream:

Using ONVIF Device Manager (ODM), enter the camera login, then select the camera from the device list.

Next, click on Profiles.

The list of stream Profiles will display.

Select the secondary stream, then click on Video Encoder Configuration.

Check the encoding codec and resolution settings for the secondary, low-res profile.

If there is only a high-resolution profile available, the camera may not may not allow a secondary resolution streaming profile (typically, older cameras) or there is a device issue. If the low-resolution stream only has an mjpeg codec, it may also indicate a device issue.

PTZ Issues

When encountering PTZ issues through the DW Spectrum® Client, ODM can be used to test the camera’s ONVIF communication for the PTZ controls.

**NOTE: To troubleshoot PTZ issues for the DW Spectrum® GUI, check out PTZ Auto-Focus and Camera Control in DW Spectrum.

Checking PTZ Issues

To test the PTZ communication of the camera:

Using ONVIF Device Manager (ODM), enter the camera login, then select the camera from the device list.

Next, click on PTZ control. If there is no PTZ control option in the ODM, check that the camera does indeed support a PTZ function. Additionally, you can check in the camera’s web client for PTZ options as well.

**NOTE: PTZ Auto-Focus and Camera Control in DW Spectrum

The PTZ control window will display with PTZ control buttons overlaying the camera video.

Click-and-hold the PTZ control buttons to test the PTZ function of the camera. If the camera should have PTZ capabilities and does not respond, it may be due to an issue with the camera or with its firmware.

If you need to test the PTZ presets of the camera, you can do so in the Settings box.

Signal Input Issues

If the single input (DI) on the camera triggers, but the DW Spectrum® Client does not respond, you can use ODM to check the change log for a state change.

To check for events in ODM:

Using ONVIF Device Manager (ODM), enter the camera login, then select the camera from the device list.

Next, click on Events.

The Events log of the camera will display. If the camera is communicating event state changes, the log will show the time, input token topic, “changed”, and the state (true/false). If these events are not being shown, there may be an issue with the camera or with its firmware.

If the camera continues to appear unresponsive, please contact Technical Support for further assistance. If this is a third-party camera, please contact the camera manufacturer for further assistance.

How do I upgrade the firmware version of a Network Video Recorder (NVR)?
- A1: Upgrade from a PC
  1. Download the NVR firmware from the banner message after logging into Vision Web Portal. Save the firmware to a known location in the computer.
  2. Access the NVR by entering the IP address of the NVR in the web browser.
  3. Type username and password to login to the NVR.
  4. Once login to the NVR,
    Click on “Setup” tab > Navigate side menu to Maintenance > Maintenance
  5. Under Maintenance > Select “Local Upgrade” tab
    Choose NVR as device type
    Click on the “Browse” button to browse the firmware saved in step one.
    Click on the “Upgrade” button to upgrade the firmware.
  6. There would be a firmware upgrade progress bar showing the upgrade process. Once it reaches 100%, NVR will reboot right after. Firmware has been successfully upgraded when NVR comes back from reboot.
- A2: Upgrade from the local display of the NVR.
  1. Perform Step 1 from “Upgrade from a PC”. This time save the firmware to a USB flash drive.
  2. Once firmware has saved in the USB flash drive, remove the drive from the PC and insert it directly to any USB port of the NVR.

    Menu > Maintain > Upgrade
  4. Choose “Local” for the Type

Is there a limit of how many people I can run face search with?

The reason can be that the face is too far away from the camera, or is facing away from the camera such that it will not yield a good face match result.
There is no limit on the number of faces to be detected per customer account.
What type of recording compression does your NVR support?

H.264 and H.265 video compression are the compression supported by NVR.
Is there a limit to how long the stream will stay active?

Not at the moment.
Are we using P2P to stream video to the cloud? When I request a live stream of video, what happens?

Detected event videos are stored in the cloud and are accessible by the account user or administrator until they expire after 30 days. A recording playback is directly streamed from the NVR through the Bridge to the user’s browser.
How many streams of video can I pull from one camera? What is the limit?

20 streams per each smart series camera. When an IP camera is connected to a NVR, 3 of 20 streams will be occupied – Main Stream / Sub Stream / Third Stream.
Can I assign permissions to the users?

A user can be assigned permission to view cameras live, playback recording and edit cameras for the sites assigned to this user.
Can an email be the main account for a bridge and the secondary account for a different bridge?

No, one email address can only be associated with one account.
How do I keep my bridge’s system and firmware up to date?

Your Turing’s bridge can be upgraded via OTA (over-the-air). You will see a pop-up notification whenever a new version is available. To start the process, click “Upgrade” from the pop-up, or go to Settings, select the device you want to upgrade under “Devices”, and click the Upgrade button.
Where can I find configuration guides for legacy 3rd party camera installations?

Cannot view 3rd party camera Live view on Turing NVR or Turing Vision but cameras show online.

Check the encoding setting of the camera to see if you have enabled H.264+/H.265+ or any advanced compression technology. If YES, please turn it off. Advanced compression technology is proprietary and cannot be supported.
How to add a brand new 3rd party camera into Turing Vision?

Follow up with manufacturer’s installation guidelines to activate, setup cameras, turn on ONVIF, make sure 3rd party cameras are in the same LAN as Turing NVR. Then refer to Turing Legacy installation guidelines for the rest steps.
Can I use the Turing NVR to Change the Third-Party camera settings?

Generally, No. The ONVIF protocol can work with time and encoding but usually not with intrusion zone or motion detection settings. It is important to set them in both places to ensure the work.
Do we utilize Main, Sub, and Third Stream in the Turing Vision Platform?

Yes. The Main is for the HD streaming, the Sub is used as default up to 2*2, and Third is used >2*2.
How long does it take for the camera settings in the Turing Vision Platform to update?

It may take up to 5 mins to update the camera setting display here if you made any setting change on NVR or Camera. Please be patient with the updating of information to the cloud.
Will there be any 3rd stream recommendations?

Not exactly, usually the 3rd stream is the lowest resolution stream, compared to the main or sub stream. Just make sure the 3rd stream is lower than 720p.
Cannot connect camera to NVR and it shows error message: user lock out.

This is because some 3rd cameras have a protection mechanism if the user name/password is incorrect, you could either wait for a certain time period or simply reboot the camera.

Guard Viewer For PC is a video management software. It provides video surveillance services including live view, playback, device management, recording schedule, alarm configuration, video wall, people counting,and e-map.

The software is easy to deploy and operate, suitable for smalland medium-size applications such as for super market, parking lot and residential area.For more details, see datasheet.

Directly connected camera: Camera that is directly managed by the software (in comparison with NVR connected camera).
NVR connected camera: Camera that is managed by the software via an NVR (in comparison with directly connected camera).
IPC: IPC, IP camera and camera refer to the same thing in this manual.
PC: The computer that runs the software, also mentioned in this manual as the client.

NOTE：

The 64-bit OS and software are recommended. Live view and playback consumes RAM, and the 32-bit software has a relatively small RAM. When RAM is running low, the software will be unable to play more channels of live or recorded videos, and it will display a message indicating insufficient RAM.

Installation and Startup

Double-click the .exe file, and follow the wizard to complete the installation.
When installation is complete, double-click the shortcut icon to start the software.
Log in with the default username/password (admin/123456).
You see the main page when logged in. The main page includes the control panel, some functional buttons and the system menu.

NOTE：

The default password is intended only for the first login. For security, please set a strong password when logged in (see User Management). A strong password shall include at least nine characters comprising all three types: digits, letters, and special characters. Please keep the password safe and change it regularly.
The password for admin (123456 or others) does not change after an upgrade or a reinstall of the software.
For first time use, a config wizard will guide you to add devices and start live view. The wizard uses the default username (admin/123456) to add devices.

GUI Introduction

The main page is displayed after you log in. The main page consists of the control panel and some functional buttons.

The control panel includes the Common and Basic/Smart areas. Click an icon to access the corresponding module. You may drag an icon to change its position with another icon.

Click the buttons in the top right corner:

Icon	Description
	Menu. Click an icon on the menu to access the corresponding module.
	Change appearance. You can choose the light or the dark theme color for the client.
	Switch account.
	Lock the GUI
	Open configuration wizard, user manual, view version number and update information. Note: If updates are available, you can click to view details and download the new version.

The buttons in the bottom left corner:

	View realtime alarms, turn on/off alarm sound, enable/disable alarm-triggered live video.
	View alarm triggered live video.
	Download recording.
	View and manage download tasks.

Device Management

Devices include encoding devices, decoding devices, cloud devices, access control devicesand network keyboards.

The software supports up to 64 local devices and 64 cloud devices, up to 512 local channels and 512 cloud channels.

Encoding Device

Add Device

Encoding devices include IPC (also referred to as IP camera,camera, or video channelin this manual), Network Video Recorder (NVR)and hybrid NVR.

NOTE:

Managing a device with different management software programs may cause unexpected problems.
Please always add devices as admin (enter username “admin”).

Click Device Managementon the control paneland then follow the steps:

1. Click Device > Encoding Device. The page is divided into two areas with two lists:

Online Device list: The software searches online devices and refreshes automatically. Note: The discovered devices are not added yet, and you need to add them manually (see step 2).
Managed Device list: lists devices that have been added to the software.

2. On the Online Device list, select device(s) and then click Add. You may add devices to different groups.

The software uses the default username (admin/123456) to add a device. If the password of a device has been changed and is not 123456, you need to change the password in step 3.

In the Online Device list, you may:

Click Refreshto refresh the list.
Click Search Configto specify a network segment to search.
Right-click a device to visit itsWeb interface.

3. On the Managed Device list, check the status of the added devices and do the following:

Add device	1) Click Add. 2) Choose a mode. The device username (admin) and password are always required, regardless of the mode you choose. IP/Domain: Add a device with a known IP address. IP Segment: Add multiple devices with continuous IP addresses. MyDDNS: DDNS must be enabled on the device and port mapping must be completed beforehand. See Appendix for details. 3) Click Add to add to the default group, or Add to Group to add to a specified group.
Edit Device	Select device(s) and then click Edit. This button is especially useful when you want to set the same username and password for adding multiple devices.
Delete device	Select device(s) and then click Delete. The deleted online devices are still on the Online Device list.
Sync time	Click TimeSync to sync your PC’s system time to the selected devices.
View device status	Click Status to view device online/offline status, alarm subscription status, recording status, and storage medium status. You may refresh manually or set an interval to refresh automatically.
Use buttons in the Operation column	: Edit device name, IP address, username/password. If the device status is Offline(incorrect username or password), click this button and change the password to the actual password. You may also double-click to edit a device. : Configure image, encoding and OSD settings of a device (see Configure an Encoding Device). : Visit the Web interface of the device. : Restart device.

Configure Device

On the Managed Device list, click for an online device to configure image, encoding,OSD and temperature measurement settings without opening the Web interface of the device.

NOTE:

This function requires device support and it may be unavailable if the device version is too low.
Temperature measurement parameters are available to thermal cameras only.
The configurations displayed may vary with device version and how the device is managed.
For detailed explanations of image, encoding, OSD and temperature measurement parameters, please see device user manual.
OSD configuration is not available on Mac OS.

The changed image and OSD settings take effect immediately. Encoding and temperature measurement settings must be saved first before they take effect.

For an NVR, you need to select a camera from the drop-down list.

When configuring OSD, you can double-click the image to display in full screen; the blue boxes (Area1, 2 …) appear only in the preview and do not display on the live view image. You can drag an OSD to relocate it.

Group Management

You can create groups and manage cameras in different groups.

1. Add a group.

2. Import cameras to the group.

To import cameras: click the group on the right, select cameras on the left, and then click Import Selected. To import all cameras, click Import All.

To remove a camera from a group, place the mouse pointer on the camera and click Delete.

To rename a camera in a group, place the mouse pointer on the camera and click Rename.

Decoding Device

You need to add device before you can use the video wall function. The steps are similar to adding device. See Add Device for reference.

Note:Add device as admin.

Cloud Device

The software can manage up to 64 cloud devices simultaneously, including your own devices and devices shared from other cloud accounts. If the total number of cloud devices exceeds the limit,
you can click Device Details and use the Add Manage or Cancel button to specify the cloud devices you want to manage.

Click Device Management on the control panel and then follow the steps.

Click Device > Cloud Device.
Click Register to sign up for a cloud account; if you already have one, proceed to step 3.
Enter your username and password for your cloud account, and then click Login. Devices under your cloud account are listed, including your cloud devices (under My Cloud Device) and devices shared from other cloud accounts (under Shared Cloud Device).

Use the buttons under Operation to edit device name, configure image, encoding and OSD settings, open the Web interface of the device, or restart a device.

Click Cancel to cancel the management of a device without deleting the device from the cloud account.

Click TimeSync to keep a device synchronized with your PC’s system time.

Click Device Details to add, edit, delete cloud devices, to share or cancel sharing, to manage or cancel management.

Click Add to add device(s) to your cloud account (the register code required is displayed in the Web interface of the device; see device user manual for details); click Delete to delete device(s) from your cloud account.

Click Add Manage to add device(s) to the software; click Cancel to cancel management without deleting the device from the cloud account.

Double-click a device or click Edit to change the device’s name. To sync the new name to cloud, select Sync to Cloud.

Click Share to share device(s) with another cloud account. Set a sharing period and permissions as needed. The permissions are pre-configured on the device.

Click Sharing Records to view sharing history or cancel sharing(s) with other cloud accounts.

Click Cancel Sharing to cancel sharing(s) from other cloud accounts.

Access Control Device

See Add Device for the steps to adding an access control device . Please add access control devices as admin.

Network Keyboard

A network keyboard can be used to con trol live video , PTZ camera and sequence resource on a video wall wall.

The following steps describe how to play live video on a video wall. Before you start, refer to the keyboard user manual to connect the keyboard to your PC. And then, click Device Management on the control panel and follow the steps.

1. Add a camera. On the Camera tab, click Add, select the camera to play on the video wall and click OK. The camera appears on the list.

You will use the number (e.g., 222) later when operating the keyboard.

2. Add a video wall. On the DX Video Wall tab, click Add, select a video wall and then click OK. You need to configure video wall first. See Video Wall for details.

You will use the number (e.g., 1) later when operating the keyboard.

3. Add a sequence resource. On the Sequence Resource tab, click Add, select a sequence resource and then click OK. You need to configure sequence resource first. See Sequence Resource for details.

You will use the number (e.g., 1) later when operating the keyboard.

4. The following operations are on the network keyboard.

a. Enter the keyboard number in step 2 (e.g., 1), then press AUX4.
b. Enter the window number in the top left corner (which is 1 in both A and B), then press MON.
c. Enter the split-screen number, then press WIN. If the window is split (as in A), enter the split-screen number 3; if the window is not split (as in B), enter 1. This step is only required for playing live video on video wall. For playing sequence resource, skip this step.
d. Select the camera or sequence resource to play on the video wall.

Live video: Enter the keyboard number in step 1(e.g., 222), then press CAM.
Sequence resource: Enter the keyboard number in step 3 (e.g.,1),then press CAM_G.

5. After live video starts on the video wall, you can:

Use the joystick to control the rotation of a PTZ camera, and use the Zoom and Focus buttons to control the zoom and focus.
Use the button to switch live video to recording.

See keyboard user manual for more information.

Live View

Click Live View on the control panel to view live video from cameras.

Play Live Video

1. On the Camera tab, double-click a camera or drag it to a window to start live video.

2. Right-click a camera to choose a stream type, rename the camera, view/change alarm output status.

View/change alarm output status: Right-click an IPC or a channel under an NVR to view or change its alarm output status. Alarm output needs to be configured beforeh and on the device.

Or, hover the mouse on an NVR, click to view or change the alarm output status of the NVR and all the channels under it . Click the button in the Operation column or the button on the top to change alarm status.

3. You may drag the image to play it in another window.

4. Double-click a window to maximize it, and double-click again to restore.

After maximizing a window, move your mouse to the left or right side on the live view page, and then click or to switch to the live video of previous or next channel.

5. Use the live view toolbar or window toolbar during live view.

Play Live Video by View

By default view

On the View tab, double-click a default view or click Play to start live video from the corresponding number of cameras on the camera list: 4 cameras for 4-split view, 9 for 9-split view, 16 for 16-split view, and 25 for 25-split view.
Take the 4-Split view as an example.

Live video from the first 4 cameras on the camera list will be played, illustrated as below.

By custom view

Play live video from specified cameras by a custom view.

1. On the View tab, click the Add View button to create a view. You may also click View on the control panel to add a sequence resource.

2. Select a window layout. Click to edit a custom layout, use Combine or Undo when editing.

3. Drag cameras or sequence resources to the intended windows one by one.

4. Click OK.

5. Double-click the custom view or click Play to start live video from cameras (specified in step 3) in the corresponding windows in the layout (set in step 2).

Live View Control

Live View Toolbar

The live view toolbar is at the bottom of the live view window.

B	Save the current view directly or as another view.
C	Close all windows playing video.
D	Snapshot all.
E	Start recording of all windows playing.
F	Stop recording of all windows playing.
G	Pause/resume sequence display

Live View Window Toolbar

The window toolbar appears when you place the mouse pointer on a live view window. The toolbar is effective only to the current window.

Button	Description
A	Take a snapshot. The snapshot format and storage path are configurable in System Configuration.
B	Records live video playing in current window to the PC. The video format and storage path are configurable in System Configuration.
C	Digital zoom. When enabled, drag the mouse to draw an area on the image to zoom in on, and use the scroll wheel to zoom in or out.
D	Adjusts the speaker volume or mute it for the PC.
E	Two-way audio.
F	Starts instant playback. Plays back the live video playing in the current window for the last 5 minutes and 30 seconds. The playback pauses at the end, and you need to start live video manually.
G	Stream type, bit rate and resolution of the current video.

The toolbar shows when the camera is a PTZ camera. Click this button to open the PTZ control panel.

The toolbar shows when the camera is a fisheye camera. Click this button to open the fisheye control panel.

The toolbar shows when the camera is a multi-sensor camera. Click this button to enable tracking mode.

Live View Shortcut Menu

A shortcut menu appears when you right-click a live view window. Some items on the menu provide same functions as the live view toolbar and window toolbar. Some are described in the table below.

Parameter	Description
Stream Type	Select a stream type for the current window: auto, main, sub and third stream (options may vary with device). Note: Sub Stream and Third Stream are not displayed if not available.
Manual Alarm	Trigger an alarm manually. Note: It is recommended that you first configure the action(s) to trigger (see Configure Alarm-Triggered Action). A click of this button will generate an alarm and trigger the configured action(s).
Camera Info	Display frame rate, resolution, bit rate, video compression format, and packet loss rate for the window.
System Configuration	Open the System Configuration window (See System Configuration).

The default stream type is auto.

For local devices, the client chooses a stream type according to the screen layout.
4 windows or less: Main stream
4 to 16 windows(16 included): Sub stream
More than 16 windows: Third stream
For cloud devices, the default is third stream.

PTZ Control

Control the rotation direction and speed, pan/tilt/zoom, focus of a PTZ camera. The software also provides other functions including 3D positioning, preset, and patrol functions.

PTZ control is available to PTZ cameras only and it may vary depending on the camera’s capability and the protocol it supports. For example, some manufacturers reserve certain presets for special use such as wiper or menu. Please refer to camera specifications before use.

PTZ Control Panel

Click on the live view window toolbarto open the PTZ control panel, which can fold and expand.You can also move the control panel to the left by clicking .

ParamEter	Description
	Control rotation direction or stop rotation. Tip: You may also use shortcut PTZ control to rotate the camera: place the mouse pointer on the live view window, and when the shape changes to like , click and hold the left button to rotate the camera. You can enable or disable Shortcut PTZ Control under System Configuration > Audio & Video. Shortcut PTZ control is not effective when 3D positioning is enabled.
	Adjust focus and zoom.
	Control the light. Control the wiper. Control the IR. Control the heater. Control the snow removal function.
	Adjust rotation speed.
	Click the tab to enable/disable 3D positioning. With 3D positioning enabled: Click somewhere on the image, and the camera automatically rotates toward the direction. Drag the mouse from top to bottom to zoom in on the selected area. Drag from bottom to top to zoom out.
	Preset tab.
	Patrol tab.
	Auto Guard tab.

Preset

Add a preset to save the status of a PTZ camera. When needed, you can rotate the camera to the previously set position with one click of the button. Presets are also used to set a preset patrol (see Preset Patrol).

1. Rotate the camera to the desired direction.

2. On the Preset tab, click Add Preset. Enter a preset number that is not in use; otherwise, the existing preset will be replaced by the new preset.

Preset Patrol

The camera patrols along multiplepresets in the set order and stays at each preset for certain length of time. Because apreset patrol route consists of presets, you need to add all the needed presets first(see Preset).

1. On the Patrol tab, click Set Patrol.

2. Click Add, select a preset, and set the length of time that the camera stays at this position. Repeat this step to all the necessary presets.

3. Use the Set Top, Up, Down, Set Bottom buttons to adjust the order in which the camera patrols.

4. Click Save.

5. The patrol route appears in the patrol route list. Click Start Patrol, and the camera will patrol along the presets that you have set.

Recorded Patrol

The user operates the camera, and meanwhile the software records the movement track and statusof the camera and saves it as a patrol route.Currently one recorded patrol route is supported.

1. Click Start Recording Patrol Route ().

2. Use the directional buttons or shortcut PTZ control to rotate the camera to desired directions and stay for the intended length of time. Adjust zoom and focus as needed.

3. Click Stop Recording Patrol Route. The recorded patrol route appears in the patrol route list (by the name 0[Recorded Patrol]).

4. Click Start Patrol (). The camera will repeat the actions you performed during the patrol.

Auto Guard

After auto guard is enabled, the camera performs the action(start patrol or go to the preset)as configured if no operation is made during the specified time period.

Fisheye Control

Fisheye control, set mount mode and display mode to get desired images:

Mount: Ceiling, Wall, Desktop
Display Mode: Original Image, 360° Panoramic+1 PTZ, 180° Panoramic, Fisheye+3 PTZ, Fisheye+4 PTZ, 360° Panoramic+6 PTZ, Fisheye+8 PTZ, Panoramic, Panoramic+3 PTZ, Panoramic+4 PTZ, Panoramic+8 PTZ (clicking Original Image switches from dewarping mode to normal mode).

The fisheye control button is available to fisheye cameras only.

In dewarping mode, you may click a PTZ window and then use the mouse to drag the image, or zoom in/out using the scroll wheel; or click a panoramic window and then drag, zoom in or out on the demarcation area.
Digital zoom is disabled in dewarping mode, and the digital zoom button is hidden. If you switch to dewarping mode when digital zoom is enabled, digital zoom will be disabled automatically, and the image restores its original size.
Dewarping mode is not available when resolution is below than D1, and the fisheye control button is grayed out.
Fisheye control is not available on Mac OS.

Tracking Mode

Intracking mode, if you play main stream ofthe multi-sensor camera, the camera will automatically track the objects that trigger the set alarm rule.

1. Click in the live view or playback window toolbar. The window is split into multiple windows: one big window showing the panoramic image, and multiple small windows showing PTZ images. The boxes on the panoramic image match the PTZ images.

2. Perform the following operations as needed:

Drag a box in the panoramic image to change the range of the corresponding PTZ image.
Scroll your mouse wheel on a box or a PTZ image to zoom in or out.

To use auto tracking function, you need to enable perimeter protection function for the camera first.

Enabling tracking mode will disable digital zoom.
Tracking mode is not available on Mac OS.

Sequence Display

Sequence Resource

Play live video from cameras in a group one by one in a window. First,you need to create a sequence resource.

Create a sequence resource

1. On the Live View page, click the Sequence Resource tab, and then click the Add button. You may also click Sequence Resource on the control panel to add a sequence resource.

2. Complete settings in the window, including sequence resource name, sequence interval, video channels to include, stream type, preset (PTZ camera). Click the Top, Up, Down and Bottom buttons to adjust the sequence as needed.

3. Click OK.

Play a sequence resource

Double-click the sequence resource on the Sequence Resource tab to start sequence display.

Sequence View

Sequence a default view

Play live video from cameras on thecamera list in sequence based on a default view.

1. On the View tab, click the Sequence Display button for a split view. Take 4-Split view for example.

2. Set sequence display interval.

3. Assume there are eight cameras, and the sequence interval is set to 20 seconds. Then the sequence is illustrated as shown below.

Sequence custom views

Play live video by custom views in sequence.

1. To create a custom view, click Add View.

2. Complete the settings in the window, including the view name, window layout, binding between the cameras/sequence resources and the windows (by dragging the cameras/sequence resources to the windows or by clicking Batch Add), stream type (for cameras only) and preset (for PTZ cameras only). Click OK when you complete the settings.

3. Repeat the above steps to create all the custom views you need.

4. Click the Sequence Display button to sequence the custom views you have created.

Recording and Playback

Record videosand search for playback or download.

Configure a Recording Schedule

Configure a recording schedule for an NVR to record video automatically. This function is available to NVR-connected cameras only. The recorded videos are saved on the NVR, not on the PC.

Click Recording Schedule on the control panel and then follow the steps.

Configure a 24/7 Recording Schedule

Use the template to configure a 24/7 recording schedule.

1. Select the camera for which you want to configure a recording schedule.

2. Make sure the Enable check box is selected.

3. Click the Select button and then select the All Day template. The green on the calendar means time periods during which video will be recorded.

4. Click Save.

Customize a Recording Schedule

Customize based on the 24/7 recording schedule.

1. Click or drag on the green to erase, or click or drag on blank areas to draw. Clicking the Clear button in the top right corner will clear all time periods.

2. In addition to the method described in step 1, you may also enter start and end times manually. Up to 8 time periods are allowed for each day.

3. After you complete the settings for a day, you may select from the drop-down list and copy the settings to other days. For example, select All.

4. Click Save to complete the configuration for the selected camera.

5. To make the same recording schedule for other cameras, click Copy To.

In addition to the All Day and Work Day templates, you may customize 8 templates to save different recording schedules.

Record Video Manually

Save live video to your PC as local recordingby clicking the Start Local Recording () and Stop Local Recording () buttons on the window toolbar.The storage path and video format are configured in SystemConfiguration.

Playback

Click Playback on the control panel to search and play recordings, including device recordings and local recordings.

Play Device Recordings

Device recordings refer to videos stored on an NVR or an SD card that is mounted on a camera.When you search for device recordings, the time displayed is same with the system time of the device, not your PC. The GUI and operations may vary with the playback type you choose. We take Normal Recording Playback for example to describe the general procedure.

1) Select the source of recording (device recording).
2) Select the playback type.
3) Select the camera(s).
4) Select or set the search time. If the device is in another time zone, please use the local time of the device.
5) Click Search.
Note:

In step 2, you may select a sub type to search for event recordings or VCA recordings.
In step 3, up to 16 cameras are supported if multiple selections are allowed.
In step 4: The calendar shows search results for the selected camera(s) (blue means normal recording, and red means alarm recording). This feature is only available to Normal Recording Playback and Smart Recording Playback modes.

Play Local Recording and Image

Search and play videos and images saved on your PC.The time of local recordings is the time of your PC.

1) Select the source of recording (local recording).
2) Select the camera(s).
3) Select or set the search time.
4) Choose to search for recordings or pictures. The default is to search for recordings.
5) Click Search.

Note:
In step 3: The calendar shows search results for the selected camera(s), and blue indicates recording on that day.

Playback Control

Double-click a file on the right-side list to start playback; or click on the timeline to start playback from the corresponding time.

Playback Toolbar

D	Click to switch to synchronous playback mode. In synchronous playback mode, operations (e.g., pause, resume, stop, adjust speed, click on the timeline to start playing from that point) are effective to all the playing windows. Note: Frequent operations (such as pause/resume, adjust speed) during synchronous playback may affect the synchronous performance.
E/H	Play by frame. Click to play the previous/next frame of image.
F	Pause/resume.
G	Stop
I	Adjust playback speed.
J	Download recordings.
K	Switch to full screen mode. Press Esc to exit.
L/N	Move the timeline forward or backward.
M	Zoom in or out on the timeline.
O	Click to open a calendar and search recordings of a different date.

Playback Window Toolbar

The window toolbar appears when the mouse pointer rests on a playing window. Operations with the toolbar are for this window only.

The toolbar shows when the camera is a fisheye camera. Click this button to open the fisheye control panel.
The toolbar shows when the camera is a multi-sensor camera. Click this button to enable tracking mode.
You can choose a stream transmission protocol (see System Configuration) according to the network environment to improve image quality.

Right-click Menu

A menu appears when you right-click a window during playback. Many functions on the menu are same to the toolbar buttons.

Playback by View

In normal recording playback mode, playback by view can play recordings of cameras bound to the windows in the set window layout. On the View tab, select a custom view, select a date on the calendar, and then click Search.

This function is only available to device recording.

Smart Search

The NVR records motion in different areas of the image when recording video. Smart search allows you to locate videos that include motion in the image.

This function is available only when the software works with certain NVR models and versions.

1. On the Device tab, select Smart Recording Playback from the drop-down list. Select a camera, and then select a date on the calendar.

2. Search results appear on the timeline. The green means videos with changed images, and the green part plays at the normal speed; other irrelevant parts play at high speed.

3. By default, smart search searches the entire screen. You may click the Draw Area button (1) and then drag or click to edit the search area (covered by red grid).

4. Click the Finish Drawing button (2), adjust search sensitivity as needed, and then click the Search button (3) to search again.

Recording Download

Download Recordings

Use the following methods to download recordings from a device to your PC. Download progress displays in real time on the bottom toolbar.

After a search, click the Download button () under the recording list (see Playback Toolbar) to download recordings. Recording download is not available to smart search.

Choose a download speed:

a. High speed: Consumes more network bandwidth and PC performance andmay affect other services. This option is recommended for scenarios where there is no need to guarantee the normal operation of other programs or services.

b. Normal speed: Consumes less network bandwidth and PC performance and has limited impact on other services. This option is recommended for scenarios that need to guarantee adequate performance resources and network bandwidth for other programs or services.

Use the Start Clipping and Stop Clipping buttons on the window toolbar (see Playback Window Toolbar).

Use the right-click menu.

Click the Recording Download button ( ) in the lower left corner of the GUI, search device recordings and then download recording files. You can also download the recordings by time.

Manage Download Tasks

1. Click the Task Management button ( ) in the lower left corner of the GUI to manage download tasks.

2. On the Recording Download tab, view and manage download tasks. The operations for the tasks vary with download status. You can stop download tasks, delete tasks, resume tasks, play downloaded recordings, and open a folder to view the downloaded recordings.

Stopping a download task does not delete the video that’s already downloaded to your PC.
You may set the file format and path at System Configuration > Audio & Video > Recording.
A video player is needed to play the downloaded recordings.

Video Wall

Play video on a physical video wall.

Video wall is divided into DX video wall and decoding card video wall, depending on the device used to create the video wall.

DX video wall: Video wall created by using a decoding device.
Decoding card video wall: Video wall created using a decoding card on an NVR.

Add a decoding device or an NVR as admin first under Device Management > Device.
The number of video walls supported, operations allowed, and functions/features available may vary with decoding device and version.

Add a Video Wall

Click Video Wall on the control panel. For the first time use, click and then choose a video wall type.If a video wall already exists, click right to the video wall name to add a video wall.

1. Enter the video wall name.

2. Select the decoding device you want to use to create the video wall. The software automatically sets the video wall size and binds decoding channels to the windows. Decoding channel names appear on the screen.

3. Edit the video wall size, resolution or the binding between the decoding channels and windows. Use the Unbind All () or Bind All () button as needed.

4. Click OK.

Note:

Make sure the video wall size is consistent with the physical video wall.
Set small pixel pitch LED if necessary. The special LED width is the width of the last column; the special LED height is the height of the last row. The unit is pixel.

5. To edit or delete a video wall, click next to the video wall name.

Video Wall Operations

Play Video on Video Wall

Before playing video on a video wall, you can place the mouse pointer on after an online camera to preview live video.

1. Drag cameras to windows to start live video on the video wall.

Some video walls require you to open window(s) on the screen first. The functions available may vary depending on the actual video wall, for example, you may open a window manually by dragging on the screen, automatically by choosing an existing layout, or by setting coordinates and window size.

Tip: To start live video from multiple cameras or group(s), select the cameras or group(s), click a window and then click Play on Screen or Play on Wall.

Play on Screen: Play on one window.
Play on Wall: Play on multiple windows.

2. To play a signal source (such as from a PC), click the Signal Source tab, and then drag the signal source to the intended window.

3. To choose a window to play alarm-triggered live video, right-click the window and click Set Alarming Window. Make sure alarm-triggered live video is configured (see Configure Alarm-Triggered Action for details). To cancel the setting, right-click the window and click Cancel Alarming Window.

Only one window can be set as the alarming window.
If the video wall is created using an NVR’s decoding card, alarm-triggered live video is only available to a camera under the NVR.

Output Audio

Use the audio output channel of a DX device tooutput audio of a camera playing in a window or a screen. Only DX video wall created with certain DX device models supports this feature.

1. Click (1), and then select the audio channel.

2. Click a window/screen, and then click (2); or right-click and then select Turn Audio On. An icon appears in the top right corner, means the audio channel is outputting audio of the IPC in the window/screen.

3. Adjust output volume or mute the sound as needed.

Play Sequence Resource

Play sequence resources on video wall. Three sequence modes are available: sequence video on a single window, sequence video on multiple windows, and sequence scenes.

Sequence on Single Window

On the Sequence Resource tab,drag a sequence resource to a window.

Sequence on Multiple Windows

On the Sequence Resource tab,select the sequence resource, click Play on Screen, and then select the windows.

Sequence Scenes

Scene refers to video wall settings including screen layout, window, and video service (live view or sequence).The scene allows you to recall the video wall settings with one click of a button.Sequence scenes is to display different scenes according to set time.

1. Click the right-side , or click on the Scene tab to create scenes.

2. On the Scene Sequence tab, click to create scene sequence plan.

3. Select the scenes and import them to the plan.

4. Set the sequence mode. You may choose to sequence by time interval or configure a 24-hour sequence plan.

Sequence by interval: Display scenes one by one at set intervals, for example, 30 seconds in the figure above.
24-hour plan: Enable the plan, and then set the starting time. The scene will automatically display on the video wall at the set time. You may add scenes repeatedly as needed.

5. The scene sequence plan appears on the Scene Plan tab. Click Start to start scene sequence.

Screen Control

On the Screen Control tab, you can turn on/off screens including small pixel pitch LED screens.

Before you operate on the client, make sure the screen, the power distribution box (for LED screen), and the server are properly connected.

Configure Serial Port and Protocol

Configure the serial port and protocol in accordance with the decoding device model and screen type.

Turn On or Off the Screen Automatically at a Set Time

1. Select Turn On At or Turn Off At, and then set the time(s) when the screen automatically turns on or off.

2. Click Save. The screen will turn on or off automatically at the set time.

Turn On or Off the Screen Manually

1. Click Turn On Screen. The screen turns on immediately.

2. Click Turn Off Screen. The screen turns off immediately.

Turn Off the Screen with Delay

1. Select the check box for Turn Off In and then enter the time in the text box.

2. Click Turn Off Screen.

3. A message as shown below appears. The screen turns off automatically when the timer expires.

Behavior Search

Search VCA images and recordings from an NVR.

This feature is available on certain NVR devices/versions. Currently this feature only supports Cross Line Detection and Intrusion Detection.

1. Follow the steps as illustrated on the image.

2. Perform the following operations as needed.

Play or download the alarm video (5). The alarm video is 10 seconds long (5s before and 5s after the alarm time).
View or save the alarm image (6). You can click the left or right arrow to view the previous or next image.
Click (7) to switch to list mode.
Click (8) to export search results.

Face Recognition

View live video, alarm records and pass-through records; manage device face libraries and monitoring tasks.Use face recognition to search people and count people coming in and out.

Realtime Monitoring

View live video and snapshots of people passing through, view realtime alarm records.

Double-click a camera to start live video.Up to four cameras are allowed.

Perform the following operations as needed:

Click a snapshot to view details. Click More to go to the Pass-Thru Records tab. If a face is identified as a stranger, you can add it to a face library: put your mouse pointer on the snapshot, click , enter the required information, and choose the target library.

View realtime alarms. Click More to go to the Alarm Records tab.

a. Choose a record type:

Comparison Record: Click an icon to filter alarm recordsby comparison result(for match, for not match).

Mask&Temperature Records: View records of people not wearing a mask and people with an abnormal temperature.

b. Click a record to view the corresponding face comparison information. Personal information is displayed only when the degree of match between the captured face and the face in the library reaches the set alarm threshold. See Monitoring Task for details.

View people counting statistics. The statistics are displayed only when Mask&Temperature Record is chosen.

To view the statistics of people not wearing a mask and people with an abnormal temperature, you need to enable Mask Detection and Abnormal Temperature Detection first. See System Configuration for details. The statistics are automatically cleared at 0:00 every day. You can also click Clear Statistics to reset the statistics manually.

Configure epidemic control parameters. Click under the live view window to configure epidemic control parameters. See System Configuration for details.

Configure attributes to be displayed for match faces and not match faces. Click under the live view window to configure attributes. See System Configuration for details.

NOTE: A device reports alarms only when a corresponding monitoring task has been configured.

Face Library Management

Manage faces in different libraries to meet different monitoring needs. The libraries are saved on the device.

Create Face Library

Select the device you want to manage, then the face libraries of the device appear in the list. Click to create a new face library. You can edit the library name or delete a library you don’t need anymore.

Add Face Data

Choose one of the following ways to add face data to face libraries.

Option 1: Use Batch Add

1. Click Batch Add, then select the target face library. You may select multiple libraries of different devices.

2. Click Add, then select face images you want to add. The images must be JPG files and the size of each photo is between 10KB and 500KB.

3. Click the edit button, enter the required information.

4. Click Next to save and continue to the next, or click Finish.

5. Click OK when you complete the information for all.

Option 2: Import a file containing face data

Importa file that contains the necessary face data. The file and its content must conform to the format, and the size of each photo is between 10KB and 500KB.

1. Click Download Template and then enter the face data into the template file.

2. Click Import and select the file you have edited. The imported data appear in the list. You can click the button in the list’s upper right corner to switch display mode.

3. Edit or delete face data as you need; click Export to save the face data in the current library to a CSV file.

Monitoring Task

Create monitoring tasks using the created face libraries. The device compares the captured faces with the faces in the libraries and reports alarms as configured.

1. Select a camera on the left, and click Add to create a monitoring task.

2. Set the task name, monitoring type, and choose a face library to be used for monitoring. Set the alarm threshold based on your needs.

Match Alarm: If the similarity (or Match in Realtime Monitoring) between a captured face and a face in the library reaches the alarm threshold, the device reports a Match alarm.
Not Match Alarm: If the similarity between a captured face and a face in the library fails to reach the alarm threshold, the device reports a Not Match alarm.
All: To monitor all the faces that the device captures.

Personal information such as name and ID number will not be displayed in the realtime monitoring window for a Not Match alarm.

3. Click OK. The task is created and appears in the list. For an NVR channel, you may copy the monitoring task to other channels of the same NVR.

Alarm Records

View alarm recordsgenerated by theconfigured monitoring tasks.

Choose a video channel, set search conditions including monitoring type and alarm time, and then click Search. If you chose Match Alarm as the monitoring type, you can click More to set more conditions including name, ID number, degree of match, mask wearing status, and body temperature range.

NOTE: Only NVR channels supporting face detection or face recognition can be selected.

Perform the following operations as needed:

Add the face snapshot of a stranger to a face library

Put your mouse pointer on the face snapshot and then click . You need to enter the required information including name and ID number and specify the target library.

View details

Click a record to view alarm details.

Export records

Click Export to export all the search results.

Pass-Thru Records

View pass-through records, people counting statistics, mask wearing status, body temperatures.

Choose a video channel, set search conditions including alarm time, mask wearing status and temperature range, and click Search.

NOTE: Only NVR channels supporting face detection or face recognition can be selected.

Perform the following operations as needed:

Add a stranger’s face snapshot to a face library

Put your mouse pointer on the face snapshot and click . You need to enter the required information including name and ID number and specify the target library.

View details

Click a record to view alarm details.

Export records

Click Export to export all the search results.

People Counting

Count people entered and/or left during a certain period.
NOTE: This function requires that the camera be capable of people counting and connected to the PC via

Click People Counting on the control panel.The People Counting page is displayed with two tabs:

Realtime Statistics: Display counting results of selected cameras in real time, including seven latest counting results.
Report Statistics: Display counting results in a bar chart or a line chart and export.

Realtime Statistics

On the Realtime Statistics tab, select the check box for the camera to enable realtime statistics.You may double-click a camera to start live video from it.

Enable realtime statistics to view real-time counting results from selected cameras.

Statistics include:

Realtime counting results (left side): It is the total number if multiple cameras are selected. The three colors indicate different counting types, and they match the lines on the coordinates on the right side.

7 latest counting results (right side): axis X means time, and axis Y means number of people (the minimum is 0; the maximum is 10 by default and it updates according to the actual counting result).

When realtime statistics is enabled, the first time of counting is displayed in the lower left corner of axis X (1), and the counting result appears on axis Y(e.g., 993). The result updates periodically, and the latest result is displayed on the right(2).

NOTE:

Live view and realtime statistics stop automatically when you close the People Counting page or log out of the system.

Report Statistics

On the Report Statistics tab, select camera(s)and then click on to count directly; or set conditions first:

Counting type: By minute, hour, day or month.

Set a time period by selecting on the calendar or typing in the field.

Count people entered and/or left by selecting the check box(es) .

Display results in a line chart or a bar chart by clicking .

NOTE: The maximum time period you can set is 60 time units, depending on the counting type (minute, hour, day or month) you choose. For example, the maximum period is 60 months if you choose to count by month, and 60 days if you choose to count by day.

Click Count, andresults appear.

Place the cursor on the line/column to view the number at a time point.

Click a column title, for example, People Entered or People Left to sort the results in ascending or descending order.

Click to display in a bar chart.

Click Export to export statistics as a CSV file to your PC. You can use Microsoft Office Excel to open the file.

Access Control

Manage access control libraries, perform realtime monitoring, search and export entry/exit records.

Library Management

Add a Library

Add a library for an access control deviceand use the library to control access.

1. Choose the target access control device in the drop-down list on the left.

2. Click behind the device name. A new library appears under the device.

3. Click behind the new library, and enter the device name.

4. Click OK.

Add Personal Data

Add personal data to the library. You can add data for one person at a time, for multiple person using the Batch Add feature, or for multiple persons at a time by importing a file containing personal data of these persons.

Option 1: Add data for one person

1. Click Add > Add One Person.

2. Enter the required information. Click the image on the left to upload a photo.

3. Click Next Step, and choose the target library.

4. Click OK.

Option 2: Use batch add

1. Click Add > Batch Add, and choose the target library.

2. Click OK.

3. Click Add, and select face image(s) you want to add.

4. Click , and enter required information including name and ID.

5. Click Next to save and continue to the next, or click Finish.

6. Click OK when you complete the information for all.

Option 3: Add data for multiple persons at a time by importing a file containing personal data of these persons

1. Click Generate Template, and use the template to create a file containing the required personal data.

2. Click Import, and select the target library.

3. Click , and select the file to import (CSV or XLSX).

4. Click Import.

NOTE:

Only JPG images are allowed. The size of each image must be within the range of 10KB and 500KB.
XLSX files cannot be imported or exported on Mac OS.

The following operations are allowed:

• Click in the list’s upper right corner to switch display mode.
• Click Export to save data in the library to a CSV or an XLSX file.

Realtime Monitoring

View live video and snapshots of people passing through,take snapshots, use digital zoom, and open the door remotely.

Double-click a camera or drag it to the window to start live video. Pass-through records are displayed on the right side.

The captured face snapshots and the corresponding library photos (if a match is found) are displayed on the right side. You can click a record to view details,including the original snapshot, mask wearing status and body temperature.

If a face snapshot does not have a match in the library, then no library photo is displayed, and the person will be identified as a strange. You can add the stranger to a library by placing your mouse pointer on the face snapshot and clicking . You need to enter a name and ID for the person and specify the target library.

NOTE:

Mask detection and temperature detection are available only when they are supported by the device and have been configured on the device. See the user manual of the access control device for details.
If the access control device can upload original snapshots, the Show Original Snapshot button will be displayed, and you can click it to view the original snapshot.
Up to 10 pass-through records can be displayed. The oldest record will be replaced by the new one when more than ten pass-through records are generated.
Pass-through records are displayed in real time. Restarting the software will clear the pass-through records in realtime monitoring.
You are recommended to configure at least one library before you view pass-through records.

The following operations are allowed:

• Live view window toolbar

The window toolbar appears when the mouse pointer rests on a live view window. The toolbar is effective only to the current window.See Live View Window Toolbarfor details. The on the toolbar is used to open doors.

• Live view toolbar

See Live View Toolbarfor details.

• System configuration

Click in the upper right corner to configure alarm sound, pop-up alarm window, etc. See System Configuration for details.

Entry/Exit Records

Search entry and exit records by time, mask wearing status, body temperature range, authentication result, etc. You can further filter search results by name and IC card number after setting Authentication Result to Succeeded.

The following operations are allowed:

• Add a stranger to a library quickly

The library photo is empty when a stranger is detected. To add the stranger to a library,click in the Operation column, enter the required information including name and person ID, click Next Step, and then select the target library.

• View details

Click in the Operation column to view detailed personal information.

• Export search results

Click Export to save search resultsto a CSV or an XLSX file.You can choose to export only text or both text and images.

E-map

First complete configuration on the Edit Map tab,and then use the map on the Map tab.

Hot spot: Video channels, alarm input/output channels, and devices added to the map. Live view and playback are only available for video channels.
Hot zone: A map on a map. You may add hot spots on a hot zone.

Map Configuration

Add a Map

Click E-map on the control panel, and then click . PNG, BMP and JPEG images are allowed.The added map appears on the page and on the Map Resources list on the left.

On the Edit Map tab, you can:

Change the map scale: Use the scroll wheel or click the zoom buttons (1) to zoom in or out.
Eagle eye: Drag on the yellow area (2) to view details on the map (or drag map directly).
Add hot spots (3): Drag devices, video channels, alarm input/output channels to intended positions on the map. See Add a Hot Spot for details.
Add hot zones (4): Add a map on the map. Up to 7 layers of maps are allowed. See Add a Hot Zone for details.
Manage pictures (5): Add or delete maps. Deleting a map will also delete all hot spots and hot zones on it.
Edit map resources (6): Edit map name, and change the icon color of hot zones.
Filter map resources (7): Choose to display video channels, alarm input/output channels or devices on the map.

Add a Hot Spot

Add hot spots so you can quickly locate them on the map when any event occurs. Hot spots include video channels,alarm input/output channels and devices. Right-click a hot spot to change color or delete it from the map.

When adding a device hot spot, you can also add video channels and alarm input/output channels under it. The channels and the device will appear together on a hot zone on the map. You need to choose a map for the hot zone. Follow the steps as shown below:

Add a Hot Zone

Follow the steps to add a hot zone.

The hot zone is displayed as an icon on the map and opens when you double-click it.Right-click a hot zone to change color or delete it from the map.

Map Operations

After you complete the configuration, click the Map tab to use the map. You may view hot spots, hot zones, alarms, and trigger/clear alarms.

Locate a Hot Spot or Hot Zone on the Map

Click the Locate button to locate a hot spot or hot zone on the map.

Hot Spot Operations

Click the Select button on the top toolbar and then drag on the map to select hot spots. Different hot spot types allow different operations:

Video channel: Select video channels to view live or recorded videos. You may use the window toolbar during live view.
Alarm input: Select channels to clear alarms.
Alarm output: Trigger/clear alarms. You can use the buttons in the Operation column or the buttons on the top to trigger or clear alarms.

You can also right-click a hot spot to perform the above operations. For alarm input channels and video channels, you can also view alarm information.

Handle Alarms

When an alarm occurs, the corresponding hot spot flashes red on the map. If the hot spot is on a hot zone, the hot zone flashes red. Right-click the hot spot to play live or recorded video, view alarm info or clear the alarm.

View Hot Zone

To view a hot zone, click the hot zone map on the Map Resources list on the left, or double-click the hot zone icon on the map.

Click the main map on the Map Resources list to return.

Audio

Audio services include audio, two-way audio and broadcast. Two-way audio cannot work at the same time with audio or broadcast, which means, starting two-way audio will stop audio or broadcast, and vice versa.

Note: Broadcast is not available on Mac OS.

Audio

When live video is playing, click in the window toolbar to turn on audio from the camera. The audio is one-way from the camera to your PC and it stops when live video is closed.

Note:Turning on audio for another camera will turn off audio from the current camera.

Two-Way Audio

Two-way audio is audio communication between a device (camera or NVR) and your PC. Both the device and the PC shall be connected to audio input and output devices.

Note: Two-way audio is available to one device at a time.

Two-Way Audio with a Camera

Double-click the camera or drag it to the window on the right. When two-way audio is started, the audio channel symbol changes (1), the two-way audio symbol flashes in the window’s upper right corner (2), and a hint appears indicating two-way audio is in use (3).

During two-way audio, you can adjust sound volume (4)(6) or stop two-way audio (5).

You may also start two-way audio with a camera (camera only) by clicking in a live view window.

Two-Way Audio with an NVR

Onthe Two-way Audio tab, double-click the NVR or drag it to the window on the right.When two-way audio is started, the audio channel symbol changes (1), and a hint appears (2) indicating two-way audio is in use.

During two-way audio, you can adjust sound volume (3)(5) or stop two-way audio (4).

Broadcast

Broadcast is one way from your PC to cameras.

1. Click the Broadcast tab. Select audio channels from the left-side list. You can:

Select audio channels one by one.
Select an NVR or an organization to select all audio channels under it.

2. Click Add. The selected audio channels appear on the broadcast list on the right.

3. After all the channels are added, click to start broadcast.

After broadcastis started, you can:

Add more audio channels: Select audio channels on the left-side list (1) and then click Add. Broadcast starts automatically for these channels.
Adjust sound volume (2) or click to turn off the microphone.
Delete audio channels from the broadcast list: click (3) to delete one by one; or select the check box (4) and then click (5) to delete in batches.
Stop broadcast: click or close the Audio page.

Currently, broadcast to an NVR is not available.

Alarm Configuration

Configure action(s) to trigger when an alarm of a certain type occurs at a specified source; view alarm records and handle alarms.

Configure Alarm-Triggered Action

Alarm configuration includes the configuration of alarm source, alarm type, device to link, and action to trigger.

1. Click Alarm Configuration on the control panel and then follow the steps.

2. Click a tab according to the alarm type you want to configure. Take Camera Alarm for example.

Camera alarm: includes camera online/offline, event alarm and VCA alarm.
Device alarm: includes device online/offline, disk online/offline, high/low temperature, etc. For DX devices, the following alarm types are available: fan failure, LED distribution box high temperature, LED distribution box smoke alarm, fan failure cleared, LED distribution box high temperature cleared, LED distribution box smoke alarm cleared, high/low temperature cleared.

3. Select an alarm source. The subsequent settings are all configured for this alarm source.

4. Select an alarm type. An alarm of the specified type will trigger the configured actions. If you choose face recognition match or not match alarm, make sure the monitoring task has been configured (See Monitoring Task).

5. Configure alarm parameters.

For the following alarm types,you need to click Configuration to access the device’s Web interface and complete configuration first:motion detection, tampering detection,alarm input,audio detection, intrusion detection, cross line detection,face detection, defocus detection, object left behind, object removed, human body detection.

Take motion detectionas an example, you need to make sure motion detection is enabled, detection area is specified, and arming schedule is configured.

6. Click the Trigger Actions tab.

7. To receive an email alert when an alarm occurs, select the check box and complete email configuration (see System Configuration).

8. Click Add. A dialog box appears. Select the device(s) to link and then click OK. The linked device(s) appear on the list. The device(s) will be triggered to perform the specified action(s) when an alarm of the specified type (step 2) occurs at the specified source (step 1).

9. Configure actions to trigger:

Alarm-triggered live view: An alarm will trigger a pop-up window playing live video from the camera.
Alarm-triggered preset: An alarm will trigger the PTZ camera to rotate to the preset. The presets in the list must be configured beforehand.
Alarm-triggered output: An alarm will trigger the camera to output an alarm and trigger an action by a third-party device.
Alarm-triggered video wall: An alarm will trigger the video wall to play live video from the camera. You need to complete video wall configuration first. Only one camera can be selected.

10. Click Save.

NOTE:

In order for alarm-triggered live view to take effect, click in the bottom left corner of the GUI and select Display Link Video.
Triggering live video from multiple cameras may cause high CPU usage of your PC and may therefore affect other services.

View Alarm Records

Click Alarm Records on the control panel to view alarm records, acknowledge alarms, and export alarm data to your PC.

Latest Alarm

The Latest Alarm tab list alarms reported since your current login and refreshes automatically.

Tips:

You can:

Sort records in ascending/descending order by clicking a header (e.g., Alarm Time).
Acknowledge alarms: Select (or double-click) an alarm and click Acknowledge. Acknowledged alarms are moved to the History tab.
Click to turn on/off alarm sound.
Click to play an alarm video. The length of alarm video is configurable in system configuration (Operation > Alarm > Stop Playback After and Start Playback Before).
Click the Latest Alarm button () in the lower left corner of your GUI. On the page displayed, you can turn on/off alarm sound, select/deselect Display Link Video to enable/disable alarm-triggered live video, or double-click a record to display the full Realtime Alarm tab.

Click the Alarm-triggered View button () to view alarm-triggered live video.

Tips:

The window toolbar is available (see Live View Window Toolbar).
Lock Screen: When this option is selected, the current window layout (e.g., 4-window layout) is locked, and it does not change as new alarm-triggered live video occurs.
Lock Current Live View: When this option is selected, the current live video will not be replaced by new alarm-triggered live video.
Live video stops when the set play time is over (see Configure Alarm-Triggered Action). You can play the video again by double-clicking the alarm record in the top left area.
Click the button in the lower left corner to open the alarm records page.

Alarm level and corresponding alarm types:

History Alarm

All alarms,including latest alarms and history alarms, can be retrieved on the History tab.

Youcan:

Set search conditions. Click Reset to reset search conditions.
Click a header (e.g., Alarm Time) to sort records in ascending/descending order.
Choose the number of records displayed per page.
Double-click a record to view details. Alarm Time is your PC’s system time when the alarm occurs, and Device Time is the device’s system time when the alarm occurs. The times can be different. You will also find a time difference if your PC and the device belong to different time zones.

Select an alarm and click Acknowledge to acknowledge it.
Click Export to export search results to your PC as a CSV file. Use Microsoft Excel to open it.

Operation Logs

Click Operation Log on the control panel to query logs and export search results to your PC.Log information includes username, operation details and result.

You can:

Set search conditions. Click Reset to reset search conditions.
Click a header (e.g., Log Time) to sort records in ascending/descending order.
Choose the number of records displayed per page.
Double-click a record to view details.
Click Export to export search results to your PC as a CSV file.

User Management

Click User Management on the control panel to add, edit or delete users.

Use the default username/password (admin/123456) to log in. “admin” is the super administrator and cannot be deleted.

1. To add a user, click Add:

Administrator: Only admin can add administrator. Administrator has all permissions by default.
Operator: Admin or administrator with user management permissions can add operators. An operator has no permission by default.

2. To assign permissions, specify permissions on the left. For some permissions (e.g., Live View), you need to select device(s) on the right.

3. To edit a user (username, password, permissions), double-click the user on the list; to delete user(s), select and click Delete.

Menus may be grayed out or hidden for lack of permission. Contact admin if necessary.

How to Add an Axis Camera to a Dahua NVR

This article will go over how to add an Axis IP Camera to a Dahua DVR or NVR.

Step by Step Instructions

1. Log into the Axis IP camera via it’s IP address in order to check the configuration of: Login credentials, HTTP port (default is 80), and RTSP port (default 554).

2. Use the username and password to login via the Axis camera credentials.

3. Select Setup, and then Select System Options once the page has loaded.

4. Then select Security, and then Users (Axis) or ONVIF (ONVIF). Once here you can make another account and set permissions if you do not want to use the main account credentials for this camera.

5. Now log into your Dahua recorder.

6. Once the Preview page has loaded select the Setup tab and then go to Remote->Remote to add a camera.

7. Select Manual Add to manually add the camera via it’s Manufacturer profile (Axis or Onvif), IP address, RTSP Port, HTTP Port, User Name and Password. Then select save.

8. If you want to use ONVIF please make sure your camera supports ONVIF profile S and is updated to the latest firmware via AXIS’s support site. Also in step 2 you might need to add an ONVIF user credential for the User Name and Password.

9. Once the device had been added make sure that the status indication is green, if it is not please check if the information added in step 7 or 8 is correct.

10. Select the Preview tab, and then select the camera to check if the video is running properly. Sometimes a Dahua recorder might need a firmware update to gain compliance with the 3rd party camera.

How to add 3rd party camera to Bosch Cloud VMS?

Cloud VMS Configuration: Add a 3rd party camera

Bosch Cloud VMS supports to connect 3rd party cameras from version 2.11.0 and later.

Depending on the 3rd party cameras’ capabilities, there are different ways of adding such cameras to Bosch Cloud VMS.

Overview:

1. Add 3rd party cameras with VX Cloud Agent app

Step-by-step guide

1. Add 3rd party camera with VX Cloud Agent app

1.1 Axis platforms ARTPEC-5, ARTPEC-6 & -7

For these Axis cameras, the VX Cloud Agent app needs to be installed in the camera to establish the connection to Bosch Cloud VMS. The Access Token authenticates the connection from the camera to Cloud VMS.

Please perform the following steps:

1. In the local network, find the related camera with AXIS IP Utility.

2. Open the camera’s website
3. Select Settings

4. Select Apps (1)
5. Select “AXIS Video Motion Detection” app (2), start the app (3) and configure motion detection (4)

6. Add and install the “VX Cloud Agent” app.
Note: currently there are different app versions available depending on camera platform and connection w/o and w/ proxy.

7. Open CBS Configuration, add a 3rd Party camera, select VX Cloud Agent App

8. Then copy the Access Token.

Note: Proxy connection is only recommended for corporate managed networks in critical industry with restrictive outgoing firewall rules and without need for load-balancing video connections. Proxy connection is not recommended for large-scale installations.

a. Select Allow reverse port forwarding (1) and Apply default settings (1)

b. Unselect checkbox Ignore cloud settings (2)

c. Add user name (3), password (3) and Access Token (3) and click Save (4).

10. Then Start the VX Cloud Agent app (5).

11. In Cloud VMS Configuration, configure Recording Mode and Cloud Storage.

Now your AXIS camera is set and you should be able to see video from the camera in the Cloud VMS Live View.

1.2 Vivotec Schubert platform

For Vivotek Schubert cameras, the VX Cloud Agent app needs to be installed in the camera to establish the connection to Bosch Cloud VMS. The Access Token authenticates the connection from the camera to Bosch Cloud VMS.

Please perform the following steps:

1. When you have connected a new camera to your router, you need to open its web interface – just type in the local IP address of your new camera in a web browser – you can find this local IP address (usually in format 192.168.x.x) in your router among other connected devices.

2. When you have opened the camera’s web interface, you need to activate it first by setting up a password:

3. Login to the camera using the password and navigate to Configuration > Applications > Package management and upload the application package:

4. Wait until installation ends and refresh the page. You will see “VXG Cloud Agent“ appeared in the Package list. Click on it to open the app settings page:

5. Open Cloud VMS Configuration, add a 3rd Party camera, select VX Cloud Agent App

6. Then copy the Access Token.

7. Then go back to the camera’s app settings page and enter the following information:

Access token – the one you have copied on the Dashboard
Camera login & password – your camera credentials

8. Save changes.
9. In Cloud VMS Configuration, configure Recording Mode and Cloud Storage.

Now your Vivotek camera is set and you should be able to see video from the camera in the Cloud VMS Live View.

1.3 Connectivity

Outgoing connections usually are not blocked by a router, however in a corporate network with proxy server, firewall, etc. involved, the IT dept might open the needed ports.
The following domains and ports are used for connectivity:

Proxy connection is only recommended for corporate managed networks in critical industry with restrictive outgoing firewall rules and without need for load-balancing video connections.

Proxy connection is not recommended for large scale installations.

2. Add 3rd party ONVIF camera

2.1 Port forwarding

To add a 3rd party ONVIF camera to Bosch Cloud VMS, port forwarding needs to be configured for each camera in the Internet router.

The following ports need to be forwarded:

HTTPS port (default 443) for communication
- optional HTTP port (default 80), if the camera does not support https
RTSP port (default 554) for video streaming

Note: To change the used ports from default, if requested by the customer, please refer to the camera’s manual.

Example:

Public IP = 62.225.116.122
Public domain: mydomain.com
External HTTPS port to be used = 15000
External RTSP port to be used = 15001
Camera’s LAN address = 192.168.2.43
Camera’s HTTPS port = 443 (default)
Camera’s RTSP port = 554 (default)

Port forwarding with public IP address:

HTTPS: In the router, forward public 62.225.116.122:15000 -> to internal 192.168.2.43:443

RTSP: In the router, forward public 62.225.116.122:15001 -> to internal 192.168.2.43:554

Port forwarding with public domain:

HTTPS: In the router, forward public mydomain.com:15000 -> to internal 192.168.2.43:443

RTSP: In the router, forward public mydomain.com:15001 -> to internal 192.168.2.43:554

To configure port forwarding is individual per router manufacturer and model. Please refer to the router’s manual.

2.2 Add 3rd party ONVIF camera

Please perform the following steps:

1. Open Cloud VMS Configuration, navigate to Accounts > Sites > Devices.

2. Add a 3rd party camera, select ONVIF (via Port Forwarding)

3. Enter device name, host (public IP address or domain), HTTPS and RTSP ports, and camera credentials (user name and password).

Note: Some camera brands need to configure an ONVIF user to activate ONVIF communication. Please refer to the related camera manual.

4. Click Add.

5. Then configure Recording Mode and Cloud Storage.

Note: Pre-alarm recording is not available for ONVIF cameras.

Now your 3rd Party ONVIF camera is set and you should be able to see video from the camera in the Cloud VMS Live View.

2.3 Cloud VMS ONVIF compatibility

Basically all ONVIF Profile S and T compatible cameras can be connected to the VX Platform (see https://www.onvif.org/conformant-products/), supporting minimum:

H.264 base or main profile
G711 or AAC audio encoding
ONVIF motion events in case of event recordings & alarms, when the camera supports the Real-time Pull-Point Notification Interface
