HOW TO UPDATE THE PRODUCT SOFTWARE OF THE DVR?

After getting the right software for your digital video recorder, the next step is updating / upgrading. There are two methods for updating the firmware of the device.

Method 1:

• After preparing a U-disk, copy the firmware file to the root folder of the U-disk.

• Plug the U-disk into the USB port of the DVR, then go to “Advanced”> “Upgrade” to the DVR and select the firmware file to be upgraded.

Method 2: If you are unable to log in the DVR for the upgrade, you can do it through the local computer.

1.Running an Ethernet cable between the DVR and your router.

2.Using a computer connected to the same router as the DVR.

3.Download and run the “Device manager” tool on the computer.

4.Upgrade the firmware after clicking “IP search” to find the IP of the DVR.

Before Installation XVRView DVR Quick Setup Guide This product may require cabling. It is strongly suggested to test all products and parts before installation and cabling.

Applications
The system is a standalone system. It need to connect with any monitor to
start live view (Such as PC monitor, TV etc.)
By adding a 3.5” SATA hard drive to the DVR, you can record&playback
videos.
By connecting the DVR to the Internet, you can view the cameras
anywhere anytime.

1 Connect the Camera to DVR and Plug Camera to power.
2 Connect monitor to the DVR with HDMI,VGA,BNC port

2 Device ID: DVR SerialNo,you can find the SerialNo: main
menu>version>SerialNo
3 GID: Scan the QR code: right click the mouse>guide> Scan the “SN”
code
4 user’s name: admin
5 password: DVR login Password (default: No password, leave it blank)
6 channel: 4 or 8

3 View The Cameras on PC:

Open IE browser，enter into http://www.topscloud.net to log in Cloud
service network website.
1: Click “download” to download the activeX on your PC
Note: when first log in, you need install ActiveX, IE default stop the
ActiveX，so please go to –– level>–, and enable all ActiveX.
2 Choose by device: you can find the device id on DVR setting: main
menu>info>version>serial number
3 Enter the user and password, default is admin no password.

XVRView DVR Quick Setup Guide

4 Record video:
If you system don’t come with hard drive, you have to install a SATA
3.5 inch internal hard drive to record. This system works with most
3.5”SATA Hard Disk or 3.5 internal hard disk.

1. Install a Hard Disk (if your system has preinstalled Hard Disk,
please skip this step)
Unplug your DVR from power, unscrew and remove the top cover.
Connect the SATA power and data cables from the DVR to the
corresponding ports on your Hard Disk (as shown).

Place the Hard Disk into the DVR. Any cable should cross up over the
Hard Disk.
Holding the Hard Disk and the DVR, gently turn it over and line up the
holes on the Hard Disk with the holes on the
DVR. Using a screwdriver, screw the provided screws into the holes.
Assemble the cover.
Note: after you install a hard drive, please format the hard drive, right
click the mouse>main menu>record>HDD manage> format Disk
2 Setup to Record video:
Right click the mouse to get into DVR main menu>record>record

[Channel]: select the channel you want to record
Length/min: the recording video length
Schedule: Record according to the set video type (regular, detect, alarm)
and time section.
Manual: Record no matter the channel in any state.
Stop: Stop recording no matter the channel in any state.
Day: From Sunday to Saturday, if you select All.
[Recording type] set recording type.(Standard, Motion)
If you want to motion detection only, pls tick the square of motion only.
5 Playback video
Got into the DVR main menu>playback

Record querying conditions include: file storing place, record
time,record channel, record type (regular, alarm, manual). After
chose the querying condition, click search button , If files exist, you
can see the corresponding color displaying in the time column, Click file
list button , you can see the files one by one displaying.
Double click the files you want to playback in the file list or click in the
time column to playback.

Sync Mode: Enable sync mode, multiple channels playback at the same
time.
Zoom in: Click left mouse to drag out an area, and then move mouse into
the area, after that click to enlarge, double click left mouse to exit
amplified state.
6 Motion detection Recording:
Get into the DVR main menu>sensor>motion detection

Select the channel you want to setup motion detect recording and tick
enable
Setup the sensitivity to minimize the false alarm
Region: you can select the motion detection area
Setup the the time duration
Setup motion detect linkage, tick send email, it will email alarm you
when motion triggered.
7 Email alert
Get into DVR main main menu>network>email

7 Video Backup
Plug in a USB flash disk to the DVR USB port
Get in the DVR main menu>backup

Guides for Hikvision NVRs with V5 firmware, Hikvision’s NVRs are keeping moving forward. The NVR 3.0 fitted the basic video security management. When evolved to NVR 4.0, it focused on the AI function update. Now, Hikvision NVR 5.0 leads the innovative change from traditional NVR to AIoT NVR. AIoT NVR as the domain center provides an intelligent platform as well as scenario-based applications, opening a new era of AIoT.

How to add a Hikvision NVR to Hik-Connect

Before you start…

• Make sure that the network your NVR is connected to has an internet connection.

• Check that you have set the gateway address on your NVR correctly in Configuration > Network Configuration > Network Parameter > TCP/IP page, which is usually your router’s IP address.

• On the same TCP/IP page ensure that you have set DNS servers by choosing any from this list, or enabling Auto DNS on this page. We tend to recommend Google’s DNS servers, which are 8.8.8.8 for the primary, and 8.8.4.4 for the secondary.

• Ensure that the firmware on your NVR is up-to-date.

Part 1: Enable Hik-Connect on the NVR…

1.Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your NVR in the address bar. If you are not sure what this is, use the SADP tool to find it.

2.Log in to the NVR using the “admin” username and password you have set on it.

3.Go to Configuration > Network Configuration > Hik-Connect, which is where you can access all the Hik-Connect settings on your NVR.

4.Set a verification code by clicking the small pen button at the bottom of the page under Verification Code.

5.Turn on the Hik-Connect connection on the NVR by using the Enable toggle at the top of the page. The connection status should change to Online when you click on the Refresh button – if it does not, check the “Before you start…” points above. If you are still struggling after this, you should contact Hikvision Support as your NVR may be blacklisted.

Part 2: Set up Hik-Connect on your mobile phone or tablet…

1.Download Hik-Connect from your device’s app store.

2.Open the app and press Login/Register – if you already have a Hik-Connect account, enter the username and password here; if not, press Register.

3.Select your region, enter your email address and set a strong password

4.Enter the CAPTCHA code from the image on the right-hand side, and then press the tick to confirm.

5.Hikvision will email a security code to the address you have registered with to verify it, enter enter the code here and press Finish to create your account and login.

Part 3: Add the NVR to your Hik-Connect account…

1.The easiest thing to do here is use the QR code adding method. First, press Add Device (or the + in the top-right hand corner), and then press Scan QR Code.

2.Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code on the NVR’s Hik-Connect page, or the one on the white sticker on the bottom of the unit.

3.Press Next when the app finds your NVR, and then press Skip on the Service provider Authorization page (unless you need to set this up with your installer).

4.The NVR will now be bound to your account and visible in the home screen of the app. You may be asked for a verification code to view the cameras, which is the one you set during part 1.

Other tips…

• If you do not want to use Hikvision’s P2P cloud service to connect your NVR to the app, then you can add the NVR via IP address by pressing Add > Add Device Manually > Adding Type: IP/Domain. However, alerts in the app will not work for anything added this way, and you will need to configure port forwarding for remote access to work.

• If you do not have access to the QR code, you can also use the NVR’s 9-digit serial number to bind it to your account by pressing Add > Add Device Manually > Adding Type: Hik-Connect Domain, and then following steps 3 and 4 in part 3 above.

• You cannot bind the NVR to multiple Hik-Connect accounts via the above steps. Instead, once it’s bound to yours, you can share it with other Hik-Connect accounts by pressing More > Share > Share with User and then searching for their account, generating a QR code for them to scan, or scanning their QR code, which is located in their Account Management page.

How to set up motion detection and alerts on a Hikvision NVR

What is Motion Detection and why is it useful?

Motion detection is one of the easiest events to set up and will notify you as soon as a person or vehicle enters a predefined detection zone in your scene. Traditionally, it would just rely on lots of pixels changing between frames in your camera’s video stream, which would indicate movement in the scene.

Of course, this would cause lots of alerts for things you are not interested in, such as animals, moving plants and rain. Hikvision’s Acusense cameras and NVRs now have something called Motion Detection 2.0, which cuts the false-positive detections right down as will only notify you when people and/or vehicles are in the scene by learning what they look like. In this simple step-by-step guide, we will show you how to get motion detection set up on the new NVR 5.0 web interface.

Step 1: Go to your NVR’s Motion Detection configuration page…

1.Browse for your NVR’s IP address in a web browser.

2.Login using the admin username and password that you have set on it.

3.Go to Configuration > Event Center > Event Configuration > Generic Event

4.Select your camera from the Channel dropdown.

5.Select Motion Detection from the row of options beside Sub Event.

Step 2: Configure your Motion Detection zone and rules…

1.First, turn on Motion Detection by turning the Enable toggle switch on (green).

2.If you would like any trigger objects to be highlighted by a green box overlay in your footage, then turn the Dynamic Analysis toggle switch on. This can be especially useful when your scene is large and target objects are tricky to spot.

3.For the Sensitivity setting, there is no set rule. The higher this is, the more sensitive the trigger is to any movement, so setting this to the maximum 100% will likely leave you with lots of alerts. We recommend starting with the default 60% and adjusting this over time to get the results you are happiest with.

4.If you have an Acusense-enabled NVR, then you will see an Enable AI by NVR option – turn this on if your camera does not have Acusense built-in to is, and the NVR will analyse whether a moving object is a person or vehicle. If your camera is an Acusense model, then leave this option off, as it is better to have your camera do this work if possible.

5.Beside Detection Target, tick the object types you would like to trigger the event. You can also tick both if you would like Humans and Vehicles to trigger it, or even leave both unticked, which will notify you on any form of motion, such as animals in the scene.

6.On the right-hand side you should see a preview of the camera with a green rectangle filling it, which is your detection zone. You have a couple of options here:

7.Adjust the existing box by left-clicking on and dragging each of the four corners to your chosen boundary. You can also move the whole box, just left-click on the middle and drag it while holding the clicker down.

8.Delete the existing shape by clicking on the Clear All (dustbin) button in the toolbar and draw one from scratch, which will allow you to draw a more complex shape with up-to ten points (or nine sides). You will first need to click on Draw Area (the box with a pentagon inside it) in the toolbar. Then left-click to drop each point, and then right-click to complete the shape.

9.Once you are happy with the shape, you can up-to three more by clicking the Draw Area button again.

10.When you are finished, click Save.

Quick tip…

If you find that the camera preview is too small when drawing your detection zones, you can switch the view to full screen by clicking on the Full screen (four arrows) button in the toolbar, and then exit full screen by pressing Esc on your keyboard.

Step 3: Set the arming schedule to specify when you want Motion Detection active…

1.Click on the Arming Schedule tab.

2.You will see a grid representing the week in hours, broken down into 30-minute segments. Motion Detection will be active for any period that is blue in this grid, so it’s on constantly by default.

3.If you would like to have the event turned off for a certain period, then just click on the Erase button and then click on each 30-minute segment to turn it white (meaning “off”). You can also left-click and drag to erase several segments quickly.

4.If you would like to change a white segment blue again, click on Arm, and do the same as explained above.

5.When you are happy with the schedule, click Save.

Quick tip…

If the 30-minute segments are not precise enough for you, you can finely tune a period of arming or disarming by double-clicking on the segments and specifying your start and end times in minutes using the arrows.

Step 4: Set what you need the NVR to do when a camera detects a target…

1.You have four toggle switch options here to tell the NVR what to do every time the event is triggered – which ones you enable is up to you:

Notify Surveillance Center: You’ll need to enable this if you want the NVR to send notifications with a video clip of the trigger object to the Hik-Connect mobile app or iVMS-4200 software.

Alarm Pop-Up Window: Enabling this will mean that, when a camera detects motion, it switches to full screen on the NVR’s local console interface.

Buzzer: When you enable this, the NVR will make an audible beep every time the camera detects motion.

Send Email: This will get the NVR to send an email notification with a still image of the trigger object, which was popular before Hik-Connect notifications were introduced. These guides have more information on configuring email notifications, but Hik-Connect notifications are easier to set up and view.

2.Below these toggle switches you will see another table of options labelled Other Linkages, which have some more advanced camera instructions. Again, you only need to tick the boxes that you feel are necessary for your application:

Video Recording: Tick the box for any camera that you want to save a clip when motion is detected on the selected one. This only really applies for cameras that aren’t set to continually record anyway. The selected camera will be ticked by default, so keep this ticked.

Alarm Output: Your NVR, and some cameras, will have an alarm output terminal connector. Ticking one of these will mean that your camera sends a signal over the selected output when motion is detected to trigger an external device, such as an automated gate or security alarm system.

Audio and Light Alarm Linkage: Any Live Guard camera will have these options – you just need to tick the Light box if you would like the camera to use it’s strobe light when motion is detected, or Audio if you would like it to play your audible warning through the speaker.

3.When you’re finished, click Save.

How to connect an IP camera to a Hikvision NVR

Adding cameras to your Network Video Recorder (NVR) is a crucial step in any CCTV setup. Not only does it allow you to store and access all your camera recordings in one place, but it also simplifies camera configuration. In this simple step-by-step guide, we’ll show you how to add cameras to a Hikvision NVR using the new NVR 5 web interface.

Why add cameras to an NVR?

• Centralised storage: Storing all recordings on the NVR ensures easy access and management.

• Simple and efficient configuration: With cameras connected to the NVR, you can configure settings from a single interface.

• Streamlined viewing: View your camera feeds and adjust the settings conveniently.

Before you start…

Before anything, to be able to add your IP cameras, you need to make sure that:
.

• Each camera is connected via a network cable to a POE switch that’s connected to your local network, or to the POE ports on the NVR.

• Each camera is connected to a power source (normally a POE port on the NVR or a switch) – if you are not using POE, you will need to power the camera via its optional 12V barrel connector.

• All cameras to be added are ONVIF compliant.

How to add your cameras using the V5 GUI…

Step 1:

Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your NVR in the address bar. If you are not sure what this is, use the SADP tool to find it.

Go to: Device Access > Device Configuration > PoE Settings

If you are connecting your camera via the Plug-and-Play method, then make sure that Network Camera Plug-and-Play is enabled on the POE port you will be connecting the camera to on this page.

For any camera with a cable run under 100m, leave the Network Cable Distance as Short Distance.

If you are connecting your camera manually by IP address, disable the Network Camera Plug-and-Play option for the channel that you plan to add the camera to.

Step 4:

Go to: Device Access > Device > Video Device

For any Plug-and-Play camera, just make sure that it is in its inactive default state and then connect it to the port you reserved in step 3. After 20 seconds or so, the camera Status should turn to Connecting and then Online (you may need to click on Refresh to see this).

For Manually added cameras, if you can see the camera in the List of Online Devices section, then just tick the box for the camera and then click + Add to Device List, which will then automatically add it to one of the channels you disabled Plug-and-Play on in the last step.

Alternatively…

Click on +Add at the top of the page and fill out the fields as follows:

IP Address: Enter the IP address of your camera, using the ‘Test’ button to verify there is a camera at that address.

Device Name: This can be anything you like, as it is the name the camera will show with on your NVR.

Protocol: Select the camera’s manufacturer from this list, or failing that, use the ONVIF protocol (your camera will need to have ONVIF enabled for this to work).

Management Port: Enter the Server port set on the camera, which you can find in the SADP tool or in Network>Basic Settings>Port in the camera’s web browser interface. If you haven’t changed this, it is usually 8000 by default.

User Name: “admin” or the username of any other users set up on that camera.

Password: The password set with that user on the camera – if this is the same as the ‘Default Activation Password‘ you have set on the NVR, then you can tick this box instead.

Transfer Protocol: ‘Auto’ is normally best.

When these are completed, click OK.

Your camera should then appear in the list of devices with an assigned channel, and an Online status, meaning it has been successfully added.

Extra tips…

• To rename your channels, so you can easily identify each camera within the NVR, you will need to go to Device Access > Device Configuration > Device Parameter > OSD Configuration. Then, select your camera from the Channel dropdown and enter your chosen name for it beside Channel Name.

• One useful feature with the new V5 NVR firmware is that you no longer need to use the Virtual Host feature. Instead, to access the configuration menus on the cameras now for doing things like updating the firmware, accessing advanced image settings, and hard resetting the cameras, you just need to use the Go button (a monitor with an arrow on it) in the Operation column.

New Hikvision Firmwares 2024, Hikvision regularly updates the firmware in our products to resolve potential issues and keep your system running smoothly. Below, you can find guidance on how to update your system accordingly.

By downloading the firmware from this web page you are agreeing to Hikvision’s Software User License Agreement. Please be aware that Hikvision products are region-specific and regionally supported. If you have purchased your Hikvision products from an online source or unauthorized distributor, they may not be compatible with the North American region’s firmware and are considered to be “gray market” product. If your camera has “CH” in the serial number, you are most likely using a “gray market” product.

Updating the firmware from this site can lead to several complications in those cameras, up to and including camera failure. Restoring a “gray market” product to its original condition is a factory process and will result in a Chinese interface. As Hikvision warranty is void in this case, you must rely on the dealer for any service, support, and warranty of the “gray market” product. If you have any questions or concerns about the official status of your Hikvision distributor, please contact Hikvision USA Customer Service at cust.usa@hikvision.com.

Upgrade Device Firmware

For a device added via IP/Domain, its new version can be detected by the Mobile Client. Once detected, you can upgrade the device to its latest version.

1.Enter the Device Information page.

• On the device list page, if the page is in the list mode, swipe the device name to the left and tap .

• On the device list page, If the page is in thumbnail mode, tap the device name or tap .

• On the Live View page. Tap and then tap Settings.

Note:

For details about how to enter the Live View page, see Start and Stop Live View.

2.Tap > Device Version to enter the Device Version page.

3.Tap Upgrade and then tap UPGRADE on the pop-up window.

The Mobile Client will download the upgrade file first and then start upgrading the device.

Note:

You can also enable the Mobile Client to automatically download the upgrade file in Wi-Fi networks once a new device version is detected. For details, see Auto-Download Upgrade File.

UPDATING FIRMWARE

Updating Hikvision IP Camera Firmware

To upgrade the firmware of a Hikvision IP camera, please follow the steps below:

1.Locate the appropriate firmware by clicking this link

2.Click on the firmware, then click download.

3.Agree to the license terms and conditions when prompted.

4.Locate the downloaded firmware file (this typically will be in the default download folder, unless prompted for a download location, then choose Desktop) and extract it by right-clicking on the file and selecting extract all or unzip. When prompted for an extract location, choose Desktop to extract the final file to. A file labeled DIGICAP will appear on the desktop.

5.After the file is extracted, log into the camera using Internet Explorer or Firefox web browsers. If prompted to install the plugin (or to allow the plugin to run), follow the prompt to proceed with the upgrade procedure.

6.Log into the camera using the administrator username and password, then go to the Configuration tab. In this tab, go to Basic Configuration then System, and then click on the Maintenance tab.

7.On the bottom of the page under Remote Upgrade, press the Browse button to locate and choose the firmware file, which was previously saved on the Desktop. After selecting the file, click Open, then click Upgrade.

8.The camera will display a prompt that a reboot is necessary to complete the upgrade. Click OK. The camera will reboot when the firmware is successfully upgraded.

Upgrading Hikvision DVR/NVR Firmware

To upgrade the firmware of a Hikvision DVR or NVR, please follow the steps below:

1.Insert a USB flash drive into the computer’s USB port (Please note that the USB flash drive does not need to be empty; it may contain other files and documents).

2.Locate the appropriate firmware by clicking this link

3.Click on the firmware, then click download.

4.Agree to the license terms and conditions when prompted.

5.Locate the downloaded firmware file (this typically will be in the default download folder, unless prompted for a download location, then choose Desktop) and extract it by right-clicking on the file and selecting extract all or unzip. When prompted for an extract location, choose the USB flash drive (typically labeled by letters E, F and so on) to extract the final file to. A file labeled DIGICAP will appear in the USB flash drive.

6.After the firmware has been extracted (unzipped), remove the USB flash drive from the computer and insert it into one of the available USB ports on the DVR/NVR unit.

7.On the DVR/NVR, go to the Main Menu, and then go to Maintenance.

8.From the sub-menus on the left click Upgrade. This will display the content of the USB flash drive.

9.Choose the DIGICAP file and press Upgrade.

10.An information window will pop up prompting that the unit will reboot after the upgrade is complete. Click YES.

11.To verify that the firmware has been upgraded, after the DVR/NVR is rebooted, go to the Main Menu, and then go to System Information. The current firmware version will be displayed.

How do I get Firmware Updates for my Hikvision Gear?

Use the search bar to try and find your product. Firmware updates are usually available on the product page.

IF YOU BOUGHT EQUIPMENT FROM US:

You will need to contact us if you can’t find your camera listed or if you require firmware for your NVR / DVR.
You will need to also provide the full serial number of the device as well as your current firmware.
This is to ensure upgrades are done properly. In some instances middlle firmware is required before upgrading to the latest version.

We do not recommend doing intercom firmware upgrades. Please check with us if there is any doubt.

How do I update Hikvision firmware remotely for my TetherX installation?

If your system was installed by one of our security installation partners please contact them to update your cameras. If you would like to update your Hikvision devices yourself please follow the guide below.

1.Download the latest Hikvision firmware by visiting the Hikvision Downloads Page

2.Extract the firmware archive, it should contain the file: digicap.dav

3.Create a tunnel into your Hikvision device.

How to create a tunnel?

4.Login to your Hikvision device and navigate to “Configuration” then “Maintenance”.

5.At the bottom of the page under the ‘Upgrade’ header, press on “Browse”

6.Use the file navigator window that pops up to select the digicap.dav file you downloaded earlier

7.Click on ‘Upgrade’

The actual upgrade will take up to 10 minutes and the device will automatically reboot at the end of the upgrade process.

How to upgrade older TKH Security Firmwares

The latest 360v2-series cameras firmware carries “UX“ in its firmware filename, where previously “U“ was used. This change is minor and does not mean much with regards to the functionality of the firmware. However, some older “U” do not allow direct upgrade to the latest “UX“ firmware.

In these cases, an intermediate step must be taken: first upgrade firmware to the nk20210916UX version; after this, the camera will allow the firmware upgrade to the latest version found on the public download pages.

This intermediate firmware version nk20210916UX can be downloaded from here:

Prechecks

Before the update it is required that the state of the system is known. Not functioning readers, nodes and lines must be noted.

Update

Download the Backup from the maintenance page.

Upload the new iProtect™ version at the maintenance page

Go to the iProtect™ maintenance page (Click on the gear button on the login screen)
Install > Upload iProtect (1)
Click on the “…” button and select the new iProtect™ version at the maintenance page and click on the “Post” button.

When the “Check requirements” button appears, press it and a check will be done. Check the log and see what is needed to continue. This is also a good moment to install the ServicePack.

Click on the “…” button and select the ServicePack you want to install and click on the “Post” Button.

You can follow the installation process at the realtime logging, the Apache2 web server will restart multiple times, this will cause an interruption of the iProtect™ Gui and maintenance page.

You need to wait (10 minutes max) till you see the message below in the Realtime logging.

iProtect™ atlas: Installation ServicePack … finished.

Sometimes a reboot of the server is required, you will see a notification of this in the messages.

Install the new iProtect™ version at the maintenance page

Click on the “Check Requirements” button.
if the check is passed you get a “Start Upgrade” button and can start the update by a click on this button.

You can follow the installation at the User interface logging, if you see the messages below the Gui is ready and you can login in iProtect™ again (only the root user can login at this point)

You must delete browser history before logging in to iProtect.

Activating lines

To be sure all lines and nodes gets the latest software, select the system default Provisioner group.

Go to iProtect™ menu option Installation > Hardware > Line
Select System default at the Provisioner group options.

The components under the line config will automatically be provided with the latest firmware version.

Activate the line’s now, the Door controllers will get the new software and start with the installation automatically. The doors will be non-functional for 5-10 minutes. Open doors beforehand if they are critical.

Finishing the update

When all lines are updated and the re-index message is gone, you can finish the update with the button in the menu:

Installation > Database restore > Activate line

Step 1: Prepare a USB flash drive and format it (USB 2.0 Standard is recommended).

Step 2: Download the firmware zip file to your computer from the following link:

https://www.tigersecu.com/xvrfw/xvr524_V6_2_82_180000.zip

Step 3: Unzip the downloaded file.

If you don’t have unzip software on your computer, you can download “7-Zip” from https://www.7-zip.org/ and install it first.

Right-click on the downloaded zip file, select “Open with 7-Zip,” and choose “Extract

files.”

Choose your computer’s Desktop as the destination for extracting the files and click OK.

Step 4: Locate the firmware file “KT_XVR524_L_V6.2.82.180000.update.update” on your computer’s desktop and copy it.

Step 5: Paste the firmware file into the root directory of the USB flash drive.

Step 6: Insert the USB flash drive into the USB slot at the back of the XVR.

Step 7: Access the XVR Main menu and go to the Upgrade menu.

Click on “Refresh” to detect the USB flash drive.

TIGERSECU H.265 2MP WiFi NVR Upgrading Instruction

• Upgrade from Cloud is Recommend.

To upgrade your NVR’s firmware through a Cloud Upgrade, it is necessary to connect the NVR to your network.

In the Upgrade settings, click Check to check for the latest available version of the firmware.

If an update is available for your NVR, proceed with upgrading your firmware.

If not, you will get a message that your NVR firmware is up to date.

• If you prefer upgrading from Local, please follow the steps below:

Step 1. Prepare a USB flash drive, format it firstly. (Recommend FAT32 USB 2.0)

Step 2. Download the firmware zip file from the below link.

Unzip the file. Copy the “kt_hi3536d_9920_MT7601_210401_nvr_6.1.24.180000_usb_2g_4_8_update.update”, and paste it into USB flash drive root directory. (Do not save it in a folder)

Step 3. Insert the USB drive into the USB slot at the rear of the NVR.

Step 4. Go to the NVR –> Main Menu –> Upgrade Menu, click Refresh. When the file in the USB drive is read –> Click Upgrade.

Step 5. After the upgrading is 100% completed, the NVR will beep and auto reboot. Wait 30-40 seconds for it restarting. Upgrading done!

H.264 HD 2MP 4CH(M_IX_HB) DVR Firmware(V20220331)

Important Tip:

1. Go to the DVR Menu bar > Information page to check your DVR Model. This firmware is for Model 4CH(M_IX_HB).

UNV NVR Cloud Upgrading Guide, Periodically updating your NVR and camera’s firmware is a great way to ensure your CCTV system is running smoothly and efficiently. This tutorial will guide you through the steps to cloud update your UNV NVR from the EZView mobile application.

Cloud Updating Your UNV NVR from the EZView Mobile App

Overview

Periodically updating your NVR and camera’s firmware is a great way to ensure your CCTV system is running smoothly and efficiently. This tutorial will guide you through the steps to cloud update your UNV NVR from the EZView mobile application.

Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes you have already initialized your NVR and added it to your EZView application. If you have not done so, please CLICK HERE for our tutorial section to learn how to do so.

Step 1

Open the EZView app on your phone. At the Live View screen, click on the three horizontal lines on the top left-hand side of your screen. This will open your main menu.

You will need to access your device list. To do so, click the word “Devices” in your main menu.

Device menu open, you will see a list with all your devices. When you have found the device you wish to upgrade, tap the three horizontal dots on the right-hand side of the NVR’s name. This will open the Device Menu for your NVR.

PLEASE NOTE: Typically, when there is a cloud update available for your NVR or cameras, you will see a small red dot next to the name of the NVR. In this case, no units needed a firmware update, so that red dot does not appear on the pictures. If you see a small red dot by your NVR, that means it is ready for an upgrade.

Step 2

After opening the device menu, click on the words “P2P Upgrade” to proceed to the Cloud Upgrade screen.

In the Cloud Upgrade screen, you will see which devices need a firmware update. It may be cameras, your NVR or both. In the figure below, the unit says it has the latest firmware. However your screen will show a red dot with an upgrade available. To start this upgrade, select your cameras and click “Start Upgrade (#)” at the bottom of the screen.

PLEASE NOTE: Your phone may ask you for confirmation to upgrade and restart your devices. You will click “Yes/Accept/Continue”, whichever you have on your screen. This will begin the process of upgrading your devices. Please keep in mind that your cameras and recorder will reboot and go offline for a short time. After starting the upgrade, it is recommended that you close the app for fifteen minutes to allow for the upgrade to take place.

Cloud Upgrading the Firmware of Your UNV Cameras from Your UNV NVR

Overview

Updating your camera firmware ensures that you have the latest and more functional cameras you possibly can. This tutorial will guide you through the steps needed to upgrade your cameras via the cloud from your UNV NVR.

Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes you have already initialized your NVR and connected it to the internet. If you have not yet done so, please CLICK HERE for our tutorial section to learn how to do so.

Step 1

Right click anywhere on the Live View screen. A small pop-up menu will appear. At the top, click “Menu.”

Step 2

Sign into the admin account using the username of ‘admin’ and the password you created while initializing the device.

Step 3

Once you have signed in, you will be greeted with the main menu of the NVR. On the left-hand side, click “Camera”.

In the submenu, click “Camera”.

At the top of the screen, you will have three tabs. Click the “Advanced” tab.

Step 4

Select the cameras you want to update by clicking the checkbox next to the camera’s name. You may also select the top checkbox to select all cameras.

Step 5

Once you have selected your cameras, click ‘Chew New Version” at the bottom of the screen.

Step 6

If there are upgrades available, the “By Cloud” button will light up. Click the ‘By Cloud” button to begin your upgrade.

Step 7

You will be prompted to confirm the upgrade to your cameras. Please be aware that your cameras will need to reboot in order to complete their upgrade. Please allow for up to 15 minutes for your cameras to upgrade and reboot.

Cloud Upgrading Your UNV NVR/Cameras from the Web

Overview

Keeping your UNV NVR and cameras up to date is a great way to ensure that your unit runs smoothly and efficiently. This tutorial will guide you through the steps needed to cloud upgrade your UNV NVR and cameras.

Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes you have already initialized your NVR and added it to your EZCloud account. If you have not done so already, please CLICK HERE to visit our tutorial section on how to do so.

Step 1

Navigate to your NVR on your web page. You can do this by accessing it via the EZCloud or by the local IP address. If you are unsure how to do this, CLICK HERE for a tutorial on how to do so. Please keep in mind that if you access your NVR via the local IP address, it will ask you to log in. This log in is the same username and password you created for your NVR directly.

As you can see in the figure below, this particular NVR was accessed via the EZCloud, meaning no password was needed to log into the unit.

Once you have reached the Live View screen, click on the word “Setup” at the top of the screen.

Step 2

Once you’re in the setup menu, you will see several options on the left side of your screen. Please click on the “Maintenance” menu to proceed.

Once you have clicked on the Maintenance menu, you will see a small submenu appear. Click on the “Maintenance” submenu to proceed.

Once you have entered the Maintenance submenu, look at the top of the menu. You will see four tabs available, the last one being “Cloud Upgrade”. Click there to proceed.

PLEASE NOTE: Some units with older firmware will not have the “Cloud Upgrade” tab. However, you can still cloud upgrade your firmware. Instead of looking for the tab at the top, look in the maintenance submenu and find a button that says “Check” or “By Cloud”, depending on what firmware you have. This will allow you to upgrade your NVR.

Step 3 (Updating your NVR Firmware)

Once in the Cloud Upgrade tab, you will see two options.

Device Type: This is where you will pick which piece of hardware you want to upgrade. By default, this is set to NVR, meaning you will be upgrading the firmware on your NVR. For the IP screen, skip to Step 5.

Cloud Upgrade: This is where you will check for Updates. To do so, click the “Check for Update” button.

Step 4

If there is a firmware upgrade available for your NVR, you will be prompted with the screen below. To upgrade your NVR’s firmware to the latest version, click “Upgrade”.

Step 5 (Updating your IPC Firmware)

To upgrade your IP Cameras, first select “IPC” for the “Device Type” Row.

Once you have selected “IPC”, click “Check for Update” in the Cloud Upgrade Row.

If your cameras have an upgrade available to them, you will see this reflected in the “Firmware Version/Latest Version” box. As you can see in the figure below, out of the three available cameras, only one has an upgrade, while the others are up to date.

On the left-hand side of your screen, make sure to select all the checkboxes for your cameras. This will ensure that any cameras that need an upgrade will be queued for one.

There are two options for finalizing the upgrade. You may click “Batch Upgrade” in the Cloud Upgrade Row, or you may click the Cloud Upgrade icon in the “Cloud Upgrade” column on the bottom right of the below figure. Typically, if you have multiple cameras with available upgrades, it’s easier to click “Batch Upgrade”.

Step 6

Once you are sure that all available cameras are selected for an upgrade and have clicked the upgrade button, you will see a message pop up on your screen. This message is to confirm that you wish to upgrade your IP Cameras. Click “Okay” to proceed.

PLEASE NOTE: After beginning the upgrade for your cameras, they will need time to update and restart. We recommend leaving the system alone for fifteen minutes to allow for all upgrades to take place and for the devices to restart.

Updating the Firmware of your UNV NVR via the Cloud

Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes you have already initialized your NVR as well as connected it to the internet. If you have not done so, please CLICK HERE for our tutorial section to learn how to do so.

Step 1

Right click anywhere on the Live View screen. A small pop-up menu will appear. At the top, click “Menu.”

At the bottom of the screen, you will see a blue “Check” button. Click the “Check” button to see if there is a newer firmware version available.

Step 5

If an update is available, you will see the new version at the top in the “Latest Version” row. To upgrade your NVR, click the “Upgrade” button on the bottom of the screen.

Please Note: You will be greeted with a popup box that will ask for confirmation. When upgrading your NVR, your NVR will need to reboot. Once clicking “OK”, allow up to ten minutes for your NVR to upgrade and reboot.
